Action Bronson Announces White Bronco, Coming This Fall

The Queens-Born Multi-Hyphenate Shares Title Track “White Bronco”

9.21.2018

Critical Praise:

“Action Bronson is Mr. Rogers in an XXXL Carhartt T-shirt and Adidas shower slides, blunt dangling from his lips”The New York Times

(Bronson’s) music is not only a blast, but undeniably distinctive.” – Pitchfork

Action has emerged as an absolute force in hip-hop, a man whose presence extends far beyond the mic.” – DJ Booth

The Announcement:

Action Bronson wears a lot of hats, from chef, to TV host, to author, but there’s one label that he likes best: rap star. Preparing his first independent project in years, Action Bronson announces White Bronco. On White Bronco, Bronson reckons with success, throwing himself into his art and fine-tuning his sharp lyrics. The follow-up to 2017’s Blue Chips 7000, White Bronco features production from Bronson’s longtime collaborator Party Supplies, as well as contributions from Knxwledge and Daringer. With a surreal front cover painted by Action Bronson himself, White Bronco arrives later this fall via EMPIRE.

“I’ve been making music for almost 10 years, and now I’m happy to go back to the basics, back to making music without giving a f*ck about what’s going on on the outside,” explains Action Bronson. “I’m liberated, I feel amazing, I’m manifesting my art in my many different mediums. White Bronco is a nice representation of who I am right now. And who I like being. I’m in a happy zone. When people say that Mercury is in retrograde, I call bullshit. Sagittarius always fly high. I don’t get depressed, I’m good. I always find a way out of darkness. I work out. I eat. I make art.”

To accompany the album announcement, Action Bronson shares White Bronco,” the project’s titular single. Featuring twinkling percussion, jazzy Rhodes piano, and saxophone, “White Bronco” shimmers and swings (“like Tiger in The Masters” – Bronsoliño), as Bronson stacks syllables and culminates in an uplifting refrain: “And I’m just out here living my best life/Whateva, whateva, whateva.” Produced by Daringer, with assistance from The SVU Band, playing sax, keys and bass, “White Bronco” is the album’s thesis statement, painting a picture of Bronson defying gravity to stay afloat in a hostile world.

“The song is a smiley face inside a spider web,” explains Bronson. “The spider web represents omnipresent danger, but I’m very happy despite it.”

A burgeoning media mogul and a celebrated figure in the culture, Action Bronson never stops working. Born Ariyan Arslani, Bronson started his career as a gourmet chef, rapping only as a hobby, until he garnered overwhelmingly positive critical attention with his first mixtape Dr. Lecter, released in 2011. Packing his rhymes with references to fine food, culinary practices, professional wrestling, obscure sports figures, and more, Dr. Lecter and its popular follow-up Blue Chips quickly built Bronson’s reputation as a lyricist. Singing to Atlantic Records through a partnership with VICE, Bronson charted at #7 on Billboard with his major label debut Mr. Wonderful in 2015, which featured the Gold-certified single “Baby Blue,” featuring Chance The Rapper. Since the release of that album, Bronson expanded into filmed media, starting a web-based mini-series for Vice entitled “Action in the Kitchen,” which played off the artist’s love of food and music. The success of “Action in the Kitchen” led to “F*ck, That’s Delicious,” a full-fledged TV series and a flagship show on Viceland, where Bronson travels the world, meeting chefs and cooks and tasting everything from haute cuisine to street vendor favorites. Bronson also released a cookbook of the same name, which spent several weeks on the New York Times Best-Seller list. Bronson expanded his television empire into the realm of the metaphysical with Viceland’s 2017 series “Traveling the Stars: Ancient Aliens with Action Bronson,” and he currently hosts “THE UNTITLED ACTION BRONSON SHOW, a free-form talk show on Viceland.

Action Bronson background:
A raunchy, cylinder-shaped ginger of Eastern European ancestry might not be the first dude you’d peg for rap stardom, but that’s exactly the mantle Action Bronson is on the verge of possessing. Over the last few years, the 28-year old Queens native has become one of hip-hop’s most charismatic and colorful characters, thanks to his wicked sense of humor, a buffet of impressive releases and the rare knack for updating cherished East Coast aesthetics into indisputably modern music. But this is just the beginning for the Bronsoliño. Whether he’s grilling octopus with Seth Meyers, hanging out with his celebrity chef friends like Mario Batali, or performing at music festivals around the world, Bronson is determined to make his mark.

    9.21.2018

    Critical Praise:

    “E-40 is a national treasure” – Stereogum

“Whoever you are, and whatever your low-grade malaise, E-40 is here to banish it. The Bay Area rap forefather is a human exclamation point, a superhero whose power is remaining helplessly in love with his work. E-40 works harder and more joyfully at making great rap music than you or I have ever worked on anything”Pitchfork

“The Bay Area’s ambassador E-40 is one of those rare veterans in hip-hop that gets better with time.”Complex

    The Video:

An icon of hip-hop and a symbol of self-made success, E-40 is the godfather of Bay Area rap, mentoring and influencing young artists on the scene. Recruiting rising star and fellow Vallejo artist Yhung T.O., E-40 shares the video for These Days,” a soulful slapper. Rhyming over a horn-drenched ’80s-R&B-indebted shuffle, E-40 lays down some of his most colorful bars, slipping into Spanish in a particularly memorable section: When I’m higher than Pluto, I eat menudo/Pastel de elote, might think I’m an esé/I sleep with my cuete, I’ll leave your ass wete/ Vallejo, Cali-harm-ya, 7-O-siete.” In the video, 40 and T.O. enjoy an Oakland sunset before slipping to the club to spend time with some fine female friends. Premiered by XXL, “These Days” is the fourth high-quality video from The Gift of Gabfollowing “Wicked,” the Vince Staples– and G Perico-featuring Ain’t Talkin Bout Nothing,” and the dancehall-inspired “One Night,” featuring Ty Dolla $ign and Konshens.

His 28th solo studio album, and the first of three 2018 albums in the The Definition Series, The Gift of Gab finds 40 flexing his lexicon over high-definition Bay Area beats, wielding his unmatchable signature flow to expand his sonic palette and mutate the mainstream to fit his singular vision. The Gift of Gab is 40’s second album of 2018, following Connected & Respected, a joint album with B-Legit, 40’s cousin and co-founder of The Click. Featuring additional appearances from Kent Jones, Problem, FMB DZ, Sada Baby, and moreThe Gift of Gab is available via Sick Wid It Records.

    The Background:

One of the most celebrated rappers of all time, E-40 has attained legendary status in hip-hop. Since making his debut with The Click almost 30 years ago and becoming one of the first West Coast rap artists to sign to a major label, his name has become synonymous with the independent music movement. E-40 has released 24 solo albums, become a platinum recording artist and collaborated with artists including Tupac, UGK, and Snoop Dogg. At age 48, E-40 is an anomaly in hip-hop, maintaining his relevance over a career that spans three decades. In the past few years alone, he’s been featured on several Billboard charts (“Choices,” Big Sean’s “IDFWU”, Ty Dolla $ign’s “Saved”), he’s earned an RIAA-certified Platinum plaque (“Choices”) and starred and had his 2006 smash hit “Tell Me When to Go” featured in a Beats By Dre commercial. Says E-40, “What’s happening at this point in my career defies logic. Name another 48-year-old rapper with one Gold record, let alone three in the same year. My fans stretch much further than the Bay Area, further than just the West Coast. I brought so much shit to hip-hop. I’ve been relevant in each generation and each decade and I’ve done it as an independent artist.”

E-40’s success extends beyond the music industry, most notably through his entrepreneurship in the adult beverages industry. His wine business, Earl Stevens Selections, distributes high-quality wine to stores across the country, including BevMoSafeway, and local liquor stores. He has made inroads into the pre-mixed cocktail business with Sluricane, a signature bottled-mix named after his 1995 hit “Hurricane,” with The Click, which was the top-selling beverage at BevMo when it was first released. Most recently, E-40 announced E. Cuarenta, his new signature line of premium tequilas. Look out for The Gift of Gab, his 28th studio album, hitting stores on August 24th.

The Chicago Rapper and Lil Durk Protégé Shares a Harrowing, Melodic, and Emotional New Album

    9.21.2018

    The Mixtape:

With his supernatural sense of melody, his harrowing realism, and his aspirational mentality, it isn’t hard to see what Lil Durk sees in Booka600. Opening up a portal into his life on the Chicago streets, Booka600 shares Six Summershis debut mixtape. Chronicling his come-up from “Chiraq to ChicaGlow,” Six Summers is an eye-opening showcase for the Only The Family rapper, crafting an alluring strain of drill rap that dwells more on positivity and self-improvement than the bleak violence typical of the sub-genre. Featuring an appearance from Lil Durk, Booka’s mentor and label boss, who shows up on mixtape highlight “Studio,” and featuring production from Young Chop and other Chicago heavy-hitters, Six Summers follows two high profile collaborations between Booka and Durk, including “7:30,” which has over 621k plays on YouTube, and Play Yo Role,” which appears on Lil Durk Presents: Only The Family Involved Vol. 1. Featuring the Young Chop-produced “City of Hec,” which has over 110k views on YouTube, Six Summers arrives via Only The Family and EMPIRE.

Leveling up from a rap star into a rap mogul, Lil Durk introduced his OTF all-stars on Lil Durk Presents: Only The Family Involved Vol. 1unleashing a crew of fellow melodists and emotional realists. Featuring several brand new songs by Lil Durk, including the Complex-premieredRemembrance,” the mixtape finds the Chicago native sharing the limelight with his most talented OTF signees, including eccentric trap melodist Yung Tory, heavy-hitter Booka600, warble-voiced drill emcee OTF Ikey, and the aggressive Doodie Lo. An impressively hooky project that conveys the realities of street life with expert songcraft, Lil Durk Presents: Only The Family Involved Vol. 1 finds the labelmates feeding off each others’ styles, relentlessly stacking infectious melodies into verses, hooks, and ad-libs.

The Paper Route EMPIRE Mogul Shares the Latest Visual from Role Model, His New Album Releasing September 21st

    9.19.2018

    Critical Praise:

“Young Dolph has cultivated that formula that makes the bando jump”XXL

“What makes Dolph exemplary is his affinity for memorable hooks and catchy call-and-response punch lines” – Complex

King of Memphis is worth myriad repeat listens: Dolph bridges the gap between his hometown and the Atlanta production that dominates rap’s mainstream.”SPIN

“Start paying attention to Young Dolph before you look stupid as shit,”Noisey

    The Video:

One of the most popular independent rappers in the game, Young Dolph demands attention with his outsized personality unparalleled shine. Showing off his camo-colored Ferrari and his latest female friend, Dolph lives a boss life in By Mistake,” his latest video. A bombastic trap heater, “By Mistake” finds Dolph yelping excited ad-libs and perfecting his outlandish boasts: “I just smash, I don’t kiss/Hit the gas, I’m in the whip/Hate to brag, but I’m the shit.” In the video, Dolph defies an undercover police officer, does some business, and takes a tour of Memphis’s cheapest fast food establishments in his most expensive car. “By Mistake” is the latest single from Role ModelDolph’s first full-length of 2018, following Major,” featuring Key Glock. Distributed by Paper Route EMPIRERole Model arrives on September 21st.

Carrying the momentum from a tumultuous, yet monstrously successful 2017 that included three full-length releases and two near-death experiences, Young Dolph is firing on all cylinders in 2018. Dolph kicked off the year with the defiant N****s Get Shot Everyday EP, an adrenaline rush of a six-track project that contrasts Dolph’s luxurious life with the dangers that come from being the industry’s most fearlessly honest emcee. Earlier this summer, Dolph shared the epic video for “Slave Owner,” which drew inspiration from Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained and took an exaggerated look at the relationship between artists and record labels, positing label execs as slave owners and comparing signed artists to Samuel L. Jackson’s Uncle Tom character from the film. One week later, Dolph stole the show at Miami’s Rolling Loud Festival, making national headlines when he brought onstage two Duke University baristas, who were fired for playing his music, paid them $20,000 cash, and led them and the audience in a rousing rendition of his hit (and the song Duke University deemed to be a fireable offense) “Get Paid.” With a massive, loyal fanbase and a ceaseless work ethic, Young Dolph strides into the next chapter of his career in style.

    Young Dolph Background

Born on the South Side of Chicago and raised in notoriously known Castalia Heights neighborhood in South Memphis, Young Dolph emerged in the urban music scene and amassed a large dedicated fan base.

Dolph grew up in a hectic environment, surrounded by drugs and alcohol, but that never completely defined him. He always had a passion for music, but it wasn’t until his peers recognized his talent and suggested that he take rap seriously. Eventually his hustle mentality and creativity led him to consistently dropping mixtape after mixtape. With authentic punch lines and stern club bangers, he created his own lane of High Class Street Music.

On the strength of releasing consistent quality mixtapes, Dolph became one of the only independent musicians to have multiple Top 20 records with “Cut It,” “Preach,” “California” and Top 40 records with “Make the World Go Around” and “Pulled Up.” Yet to release an album, the success Dolph has gained from his mixtapes have led to collaborations with some of the most influential artists in hip-hop including 2 Chainz,Juicy JYoung Jeezy, and Rick Ross. In 2015, Dolph headlined his own tour selling out throughout the country. – HotNewHipHop

Young OG OMB Peezy Schools Peers on the Soulja Life in “Mind of Overkill,” Premiered by L.A. Leakers

Video: OMB Peezy – “Mind of Overkill”

The Sick Wid It/300 Ent. Signee Gets Confessional in a Charismatic New Clip Off Loyalty Over Love

    9.17.2018

    Critical Praise:

“[OMB Peezy] is tough but melodic, with a youthfully urgent voice and production that’s indebted to Louisiana and California.” – New York Times

“Peezy’s impassioned flow makes the circumstances he’s discussing feel visceral and immediate as a listener; there’s nothing impressionistic about his bars” – Pigeons and Planes

“This kid from Alabama is the future of rap.” – The FADER

    The Video:

With an uncommon command of deep-feeling southern rap music, OMB Peezy is wise far beyond his years. Delivering an affecting mission statement, OMB Peezy bares his soul in the video for Mind of Overkill,” premiered by L.A. Leakers. A tuneful and intelligent rumination on the ghosts of Peezy’s past, “Mind of Overkill” finds the young rapper soaring above a gorgeous production from Drum Dummy, who adorns the track with spiritual blues piano. “Mind of Overkill” is a succinct summary of Peezy’s life and career up to this point, with a probing eye on the past and the future, which makes it the ideal closing track for Loyalty Over LovePeezy’s recently released mixtape. Earlier this summer, Peezy treated fans to another revealing glimpse when he shared Behind The Title: Loyalty Over Love, a new FADER-premiered mini-doc that explains the main themes behind the album.

Nearly two years after his debut single “Lay Down” put Peezy on the map, the motormouthed emcee shares Loyalty Over Lovehis debut solo full-length mixtape. Stuffed with glistening Dirty South instrumentals, Loyalty Over Love is the culmination of Peezy’s rise, with sharp lyrics about his life as a rising star and his struggles with the legal system. Whether he’s seething at inept law enforcement on the previously released and Noisey-premiered Fuck My P.O.,” fiercely asserting his individuality and independence within an oppressive system on “Souljah Life Mentality,” enjoying the spoils of his success in the TK Kravitz-featuring Yeah Yeah,” mourning lost friends in My Dawg,” recently given the music video treatment to the tune of 223k views on YouTube, or paying tribute to the West Coast with the Dr. Dre-referencing and Donny Hathaway-sampling “Ghetto Boy.” Peezy is a magnetic presence, weaving his threats and boasts around hot instrumentals. Featuring additional appearances from Mozzy, Paper Lovee, and OMB Iceberg, Loyalty Over Love arrives via Sick Wid It Records/300 Ent.

    The Background

Born in Alabama, the 20-year-old Peezy moved to the west coast when he was 12, developing a reputation as a rap prodigy, building a following on YouTube, and gaining the respect of the new wave of Bay Area artists such as Nef The Pharaoh and legends such as E-40. In 2017, OMB Peezy parlayed his grassroots local fanbase into a national following, earning millions of combined streams on his singles like the virally popular hitsWhen I Was Down,” Porch,” and Lay Down,” which Pigeons & Planes listed at #14 in their halftime list of Best Songs of 2017 and which Passion of the Weiss listed as their #19 for the year. In October, Peezy shared his debut project Humble Beginnings, a slap-heavy six-pack produced in full by Grammy-nominated producer Cardo Got Wingz (Kendrick Lamar, Jeezy, Meek Mill) and released by Sick Wid It/300 Ent. Peezy also toured throughout 2017, supporting Detroit artist Tee Grizzley in the fall and accompanying SOB x RBE on a national tour in the spring. In January, Peezy shared Young & Reckless, a joint mixtape with Peezy’s 300 Ent. labelmate Sherwood Marty, which proved that Peezy’s excellent run of 2017 singles was no fluke.

The follow-up to 2017’s Flippa McFadden 2Up To Something is a reflective and triumphant effort, as the Florida-born rapper flashes a rapidfire triplet flow on “No N***a Like Me,” spins a candy-trap banger with the spritely “Want A Bag,” and shows his softer side and his charming singing voice on the for-the-ladies jam “Slide On Me.” Featuring an appearance from Sauce HavinUp To Something arrives via Havin / BMG Rights Management.

To accompany the release of Up To Something, Flippa shares the video for Been Through It,” a highlight from the project. Ferociously attacking a haunting and minimal instrumental, marked by eerie church organ and subterranean bass, Flippa recounts the things he’s seen and the things he’s prepared to do to keep his lofty perch in the hood. In the video, Flippa returns to the site of a previous heist, digging up a briefcase full of cash before fleeing a pair of armed assailants. Premiered by HipHopSince1987, “Been Through It” is the second video from Up To Somethingthe rapper’s upcoming mixtape, following poolside clip for the spacey and triumphant “Don’t Play Me,” which has over 452k plays on YouTube.

Born and raised in Palm Beach, Florida, the rapper formerly known as Skippa Da Flippa moved to Atlanta when he was 13 years old. Shortly after arriving in ATL, Flippa made the acquaintance of Quavo and Takeoff, two future members of Migos. Flippa, Quavo, Takeoff, and later Offset, spent their youths rapping in abandoned houses, developing a reputation as the best rappers in their neighborhood. Inspired by the success of Migos, Flippa began to think of his rapping more as a career than a hobby, dropping I’m Havin, his first project for Quality Control Records, in 2014. Featuring guest appearances from all three members of Migos and production from the likes of Murda Beatz and Cassius Jay, I’m Havin’ was an overnight success, leading to heavy regional buzz and a successful tour. In 2015, Migos and Flippa recorded a track about a dance move that Flippa pioneered a couple years earlier: the Dab. Performed by everyone from Cam Newton to Hillary Clinton, the Dab grew into a massive worldwide dance craze. Since then, Flippa’s profile continued to rise, appearing on Lil Yachty’s massive “Minnesota” in 2016 and growing his Spotify fanbase to over 200,000 monthly listeners.

    The Background:

Flippa (fka Skippa Da Flippa) may not yet be a household name, but his presence has been ubiquitous for years as both an ATLien OG and the inventor of the dab. Hailing from Florida, Skippa grew up in a two-bedroom apartment with three sisters, four brothers and two cousins, along with his mother and father. Every day was spent trying to get by—“We were trying to get up out the goddamn ‘hood,” he says—and though he soaked up more localized music like Pitbull and Gucci Mane, he didn’t think of art as an escape. It wasn’t until he moved to Atlanta around the age of 16 and met Migos’ QuavoOffset and Takeoff that he started to take rapping seriously. A staple on their projects, they recorded music while he was signed to the Florida-based Quality Control that yielded smash singles like “Trenchez” and “Safe House.”

Over the past few years, he’s parlayed his Migos co-sign into a fruitful solo career, from releasing a string of mixtapes to dropping verses on hits like Lil Yachty’s “Minnesota (Remix),” Migos and Young Thug’s “Crime Stoppers,” and Jose Guapo’s “Run It Up.” Along with his high-profile features, Skippa has cultivated an impressive workflow, dropping five mixtapes in the last three years. From I’m Havin’ (which got almost 750,000 hits on Live Mixtapes upon release) and 2015’s Flippa McFadden, to last year’s I’m Havin’ 2 and I’m Tellin Ya, the latter featuring guest appearances from Young Thug, Juicy J and Trouble, Skippa’s grind has yet to show signs of slowing. His next project, Up To Something, comes out this fall.

  • Generating Over 700,000 Streams Per Month on Spotify Alone, “Wylin'” is a Fan Favorite From the Toronto R&B Duo’s Recent Self-Titled Album

    09.12.2018

    Critical Praise:

“Always Never just released their first single, ‘Call Me Over,’ paired with two more glossy and exultant tracks. It’s hard not to think of the mystery of early Weeknd watching their debut video, an ambiguous and blown-out clip that only gives away so much.”The FADER

    The Video:

Specializing in dark sonics and emotional songwriting, Toronto duo Always Never is the latest high-definition future R&B act to obsess over. Chronicling a turbulent and torrid affair with their trademark heft, Always Never found themselves a viral hit when they released “Wylin'” in 2017, earning over 7 million combined streams on the track. Today, the duo of Patrick Kirschner and Dean Guilbault shares the long-awaited music video for “Wylin’,” directed by Kid Studio (The Weeknd, 6lack, Big Sean), bringing the song’s central story to life. Touring late night Toronto in a vintage coupe, vocalist Patrick pines after a blonde-haired beauty as he sings about how she’s done him wrong, all under cover of colorful smoke and neon lights that perfectly complement Dean’s production. Though the video starts off romantically, it takes a violent turn, as the protagonist grows vengeful and lovesick after catching his lover in a tryst. “Wylin'” is the duo’s first-ever music video and the latest release off Always Nevertheir debut album.

Collecting 14 story-driven and deeply textured cloud R&B jams, Always Never stands within and apart from the busy Toronto urban music scene, setting itself apart from the crowd with delicate and nuanced vocal performances floating over bass-heavy, yet somehow light-as-a-feather productions. The follow-up to 2017’s Call Me Over EP, the new album boasts previously released tracks such as the recent “Dangerous,” which has over 300k combined plays since its release in July, as well as popular singles  “Millions,” No Good,”Morgan Freeman,” and “Know This,” recently showcased by Khloe Kardashian on her Instagram.

Always Never is a mysterious, Toronto-based artist/producer duo–a project conceived online with the expressed purpose of making a modern soundtrack for the surreal hours between leaving the club and the first rays of sun.  They released Tragedy” as the end product of Dean’s final exam at audio engineering school only to see the track go viral on SoundCloud, then Apple Music and Spotify without any playlist support. Their next single, “Wylin’,” turned even more heads, earning coverage from Genius and gaining prominent placement in Spotify’s All The Feels (1.2M followers), Mellow Bars (680K Followers) and Alternative R&B (703k followers) playlists. With “Wylin'” earning more than 700,000 streams per month on Spotify alone, Always Never demonstrates the formidable artistry that turns a buzzing singles artist into a respected act. See Always Never live in their first public performance at The Mod Club in Toronto on October 10th.

Always Never Bring Viral R&B Hit “Wylin'” to Life with a Dark and Stylish Video

    Video: Always Never – “Wylin'”

Generating Over 700,000 Streams Per Month on Spotify Alone, “Wylin'” is a Fan Favorite From the Toronto R&B Duo’s Recent Self-Titled Album

Lil Durk Remixes a G Herbo Track with the Ferociously Lyrical “No Auto Durk”

  • Press Release

Lil Durk Remixes a G Herbo Track with the Ferociously Lyrical “No Auto Durk”

Video: Lil Durk – “No Auto Durk”

The Chicago Street Hero Drops the Auto-Tune and Forsakes Melody For Bars in This Lyrical Workout Over the Beat from G Herbo’s “Never Cared”

    9.11.2018

    Critical Praise:

“Unshackled from any kind of outline, Durk’s pen game shines. His rise was dotted with blood-soaked tales that summarized much of drill’s appeal: ground-level glimpses at Chicago’s South Side that colored in the outline offered by grim murder statistics.” –Pitchfork

“Lil Durk continues to be one of the most consistent rappers out.” – The FADER

“the rose that blossomed from the concrete of Chi-Town’s drill music scene” – Billboard

    The Video:

One of the most acclaimed and successful alumni of Chicago’s drill movement, Lil Durk combines rhythm, lyricism, and melody into a style that’s all his own. Forsaking his usual auto-tune acrobatics, Durk strips down on No Auto Durk,” a no-nonsense lyrical workout. Adopting a halting flow above the eerie instrumental from G Herbo‘s “Never Cared,” Durk silences critics who decry his rhyming skills, proving that he does not need to flex his considerable melodic muscles to be a great rapper: “Never cared so much, ran out the woods to pass the dutch/Your homies died, you’ll never slide, it ain’t addin’ up/Get caught with a pipe, get out same night, you fed or what?” “No Auto Durk” is another step on the road to Signed to the Streets 3hitting stores this fall, following the Future-featuring single Spin The Block.”

A tireless and prolific emcee, Lil Durk has already had a busy 2018. Featuring the dramatic and emotional single  “Play Yo Role,” Lil Durk Presents Only The Family Involved Vol. 1 is available to stream via EMPIRE.

In March, he released his first project since departing Def Jam, Just Cause Y’all Waited, an important transitional record for Durk. Praised by Pitchfork, who wrote “Lil Durk writes about Chicago the way Joan Didion once captured California,” Just Cause Y’all Waited features tracks such as the buzzing 1-773 Vulture,” a street remix to Logic’s hit single “1-800-273-8255” that reached the 9 million view mark on YouTube, and the Lil Baby-featuring lead single “How I Know,” which earned prominent placement on Spotify’s Most Necessary playlist. Featuring additional appearances from PartyNextDoor, Ty Dolla $ignGunna, and TK Kravitz, and with production from 808 Mafia and others, Just Cause Y’all Waited EP is a formidable appetizer for Signed to the Streets 3due later this year. Lil Durk turned heads when he performed his hits in a prime time slot, and later joined Tee Grizzley onstage at the Rolling Loud Festival in Miami (catch a few clips from this performance and from backstage in the “Remembrance” video).

  • The Song:

Flippa‘s gruff demeanor, realist lyrics, and dexterous flow sets him apart in the crowded ATL trap game. Reflecting on his past trials and tribulations, Flippa proves that he’s no rookie in the rap game on “Been Through It.” Ferociously attacking a haunting and minimal instrumental, marked by eerie church organ and subterranean bass, Flippa recounts the things he’s seen and the things he’s prepared to do to keep his lofty perch in the hood. “Been Through It” is the second single from Up To Something, the rapper’s upcoming mixtape, following the spacey and triumphant “Don’t Play Me.” Up To Something hits all DSPs on September 14th.

    Flippa Background:

Skippa Da Flippa may not yet be a household name, but his presence has been ubiquitous for years as both an ATLien OG and the inventor of the dab. It wasn’t until he moved to Atlanta around the age of 16 and met MigosQuavo, Offset and Takeoff that he started to take rapping seriously.

His next project, Up To Something, comes out September 14th.

    The Video:

Enjoying unprecedented success in his fourth decade of rap stardom, E-40 shares the Caribbean-inflected video for “One Night.” Riding bouncy, square wave synths over stuttering drums, 40 delivers an addictive club jam with the new single, featuring an infectious hook from dancehall singer Konshens, a passionate verse from Ty Dolla $ign, and some ferocious bars from the man himself, setting the scene for his night out: “Drunker than a motherfucker/High as a kite/Strawberry kush/tequila and sprite/Got in with my cig/Snuck in with my stick/’What you mean a stick?’/Extended clip.” The video portrays a vivid scene of late-night debauchery, with the three artists enjoying the company of beautiful women under neon lights.

On the new album, 40 flexes his lexicon over high-definition Bay Area beats, wielding his unmatchable signature flow to expand his sonic palette and mutate the mainstream to fit his singular vision. Prior to “One Night,” the Yay Area’s most famous rapper shared videos for “Wicked” and Ain’t Talking Bout Nothin,” which boasts guest spots from Vince Staples and G Perico.

    Yung Tory background:
Born and raised in Toronto, with a six-year pitstop as a toddler in ATL, Yung Tory is one of the few artist to combine the rap and rasta lifestyles. A vegan since birth, Yung Tory is a committed Rastafarian, strictly obeying his religious diet and imbuing his life and music with the religion’s spiritual tradition. Yung Tory steeped himself in music from a young age, making his first music as a toddler with a karaoke machine. Studying at the church of Lil Wayne, Dipset, 50 Cent, and others inspired Tory to become a rapper. Earlier this year, Tory struck gold with “Water,” his first hit, which has over 1.3 million views on YouTube and featured a remix with an appearance from Sosamann. With the success of “Water,” Tory caught the ear of Lil Durk, who promptly signed the young artist to his Only The Family label and hopped on a remix of “Run It Up,” which appeared on Tory’s Free Dope mixtape, which dropped last year. Riding the wave of his aquatic-themed hit (“I’m the most hydrated artist,” says Tory. “I’m drippy.”), Yung Tory is ready to win new fans and embrace the rock star lifestyle. “I’m about positive vibes only,” says Tory. “I took negativity and I turned it into positivity. It’s a way of life.”
    OTF IKEY background:
Michael Harris (OTF IKEY) born February 2, 1992 in the heart of the Chicago trenches, he attended Dyett High School as a teen to later on become rapper in the “Drill Music” era. OTF IKEY jumpstarted his rap career under Lil Durk’s OTF label, and features heavily on the upcoming Only The Family Involved Vol. 1 mixtape.
    Doodie Lo bio:
David Saulsberry (Doodie Lo) was born on October 22, 1991 in the small city of Kankakee right outside of Chicago. He went to school in Kankakee, IL as a child, where he was inspired to get into the music business. His musical influences include Cash Money, T.I. Gucci & Yo Gotti. Doodie Lo has joined Lil Durk’s OTF label with a huge up coming project titled “Only The Family Involved Compilation Vol. 1” set to drop summer 2018.

Lil Durk Teams Up With OTF Signee Booka600 for a Clip for the Anthemic “7:30”

  • Press Release

Lil Durk Teams Up With OTF Signee Booka600 for a Clip for the Anthemic “7:30”

Video: Only The Family – “7:30” ft. Booka600 & Lil Durk

The Chicago Rapper and Only The Family Chieftain Joins with a Rising Signee For an Anthemic Track and Black-and-White Video

    9.5.2018

    Critical Praise:

“Unshackled from any kind of outline, Durk’s pen game shines. His rise was dotted with blood-soaked tales that summarized much of drill’s appeal: ground-level glimpses at Chicago’s South Side that colored in the outline offered by grim murder statistics.” –Pitchfork

“Lil Durk continues to be one of the most consistent rappers out.” – The FADER

“the rose that blossomed from the concrete of Chi-Town’s drill music scene” – Billboard

    The Video:

Turning out memorable melodies and carefully crafted street anthems at a prolific clip, Lil Durk evolved from a controversial upstart into one of the most respected hitmakers in rap. Recruiting one of the standout emcees from his Only The Family label, Durk connects with Booka600 for the spritely and anthemic 7:30.” A moving tale of rags-to-riches, “7:30” finds the two emcees wailing in auto-tune over a bouncy piano instrumental, channeling their deepest pains into the new album. With over 300k views since its release over the long weekend, “7:30” is one of the standout tracks from Lil Durk Presents: Only The Family Involved Vol. 1a compilation mixtape featuring Durk and the heavy hitters on his boutique label, released earlier in the Summer.

Featuring the dramatic and emotional single  “Play Yo Role,” Lil Durk Presents Only The Family Involved Vol. 1 is available to stream via EMPIRE.

A tireless and prolific emcee, Lil Durk has already had a busy 2018.

    The Background:
His musical influences range from Marvin Gaye, Tim Tatian, and R. Kelly to more modern hip hop artists like Future & Lil Wayne.

With a gruff voice and a rapidfire flow, Flippa (formerly known as Skippa Da Flippa) is one of the most unheralded pioneers in the ATL rap game. Sharing a breezy video for a spritely new track, Flippa shares “Don’t Play Me,” his latest video. Radiating triumph with undertones of melancholy, Flippa asserts his superiority on the track, dancing above airy piano chords. In the video, Flippa pops bubbly with a cadre of models, chilling by the pool as day turns to dusk turns to night. “Don’t Play Me” is the lead single from Up To Something, Flippa’s upcoming project. The follow-up to 2017’s Flippa McFadden 2, Up To Something finds Flippa wringing pathos out of luscious trap production with his aggressive flow and down-to-earth lyricism.

    Flippa Background:

Skippa Da Flippa may not yet be a household name, but his presence has been ubiquitous for years as both an ATLien OG and the inventor of the dab. It wasn’t until he moved to Atlanta around the age of 16 and met Migos’ Quavo, Offset and Takeoff that he started to take rapping seriously.

Young Dolph Announces Upcoming Album, Role Model, To Be Released Sept 21

Young Dolph To Release Role Model Album Sept 21 via Paper Route EMPIRE

The Fiercely Independent Memphis Rapper Announces Role Model, Out 9/21, Shares Lead Single “Major”

    9.4.2018

    Critical Praise:

“Young Dolph has cultivated that formula that makes the bando jump”XXL

“What makes Dolph exemplary is his affinity for memorable hooks and catchy call-and-response punch lines” – Complex

King of Memphis is worth myriad repeat listens: Dolph bridges the gap between his hometown and the Atlanta production that dominates rap’s mainstream.”SPIN

    Top 10 Hip-Hop Cash Prince of 2016 – Forbes

“Start paying attention to Young Dolph before you look stupid as shit,”Noisey

    The Video:

Today, Young Dolph announces his upcoming album, Role Model, to be released on September 21st via the label he co-founded, Paper Route EMPIRE.  A sly commentary on his industry stature as a pre-eminent independent rapper, Role Modelprovides a new context for Dolph’s braggadocio and proves that he does not need a big label to stand as a titan in the rap game. Taking shots at labels and oppressive industry bigwigs, Dolph triumphantly asserts his supremacy on the first single, “Major,”which features PRE artist Key Glock. “4s on the Mercedes, that’s major/Whole gang going crazy, that’s major/Millions on the table, that’s major/I turned dirt into diamonds, that’s major.”

Elaborating on his album title, Dolph says, “A role model is someone you can look to for guidance in certain areas. I’m a role model for this independent shit and I want all these young black kids to be inspired to get a hustle where they can own their own shit and create something with their own minds and creativity and become even better at it than their role model. He further explains the mood of the album, “It’s a super creative album, the most creative trap album ever put out. I’ve even got a song on there where I’m rapping and my mom is playing the piano. The album is hard as a motherf*cker.”

ATL’s SahBabii Shares Buoyant New Mixtape Squidtastic

  • Press Release

ATL’s SahBabii Shares Buoyant New Mixtape Squidtastic

    Mixtape: SahBabii – Squidtastic

The Slaughter Gang Affiliate Shares a Set of Brightly Colored Trap Music for the Late Summer

    08.30.2018

    Critical Praise for SahBabii:

“SahBabii’s ‘Pull Up Wit Ah Stick,’ one of the best hip-hop songs of the past year, is a study in contrasts, full of tough talk delivered in a sweet, lithe, almost naïve voice. – The New York Times

“SahBabii may echo Young Thug, but he clearly possesses a giddy gift for integrating that influence into his own bright-eyed, delicately constructed singles” – Rolling Stone

“With his debut mixtape SANDAS, (SahBabii) created a bright and fun-as-hell sexcapade soundscape of a universe you can float through.” – The FADER

    The Mixtape:

Blending tough-talking lyrics with sugary and bright sonics, SahBabii creates an infectiously melodic brand of trap music. Returning with his first full-length since 2017’s popular S.A.N.D.A.S.SahBabii shares Squidtastichis wavy new mixtape. With candy-coated production courtesy of his brother T3, among others, Squidtastic is a collection of distinct sonic worlds, bouncing from the liquid metal churn of “Behind Da Scenes,” to Latin guitars on “Army,” to laid-back Neosoul on “Sunny Days.” Deftly inhabiting the varied instrumentals with an understated and intoxicating presence, SahBabii levels up his songwriting ability on the new mixtape, nearing the rarified territory of mentors like 21 Savage and Young Thug. Further refining the rapper’s aqueous trap aesthetic, Squidtastic arrives via SahBabii’s own Casting Bait Music Group.

Blending influences from all over the rap spectrum into a signature concoction, SahBabii is one of the most respected young emcees in the ATL scene. After releasing relatively unheralded mixtapes in 2013 and 2015, the trap game finally caught up to SahBabii in 2017, when he released Pull Up Wit Ah Stick,” featuring fellow ATL upstart Loso Loaded. The song caught fire with hip-hop’s cognoscenti, including Drake, who posted about the song on social media, and T-Pain, Fetty Wap, and Wiz Khalifa, who recorded remixes. With over 48 million views on YouTube and 29 million plays on Spotify, “Pull Up Wit Ah Stick” was one of the biggest sleeper hits of the year. Since “Pull Up Wit Ah Stick,” SahBabii has grown into one of ATL’s stalwarts, releasing the acclaimed mixtape S.A.N.D.A.S. in summer 2017, scoring a sync on season 2 of FX’s Atlanta with “Marsupial Superstars,” and scoring a follow-up hit with “Outstanding,” featuring 21 Savage, which has over 7 million plays on Spotify and landed on the service’s Rap Caviar playlist.

    SahBabii Background:

Perseverance and a distinctive way with light melodies pushed SahBabii out of the Atlanta rap underground. Born Saaheem Valdery, SahBabii was raised in Chicago until the age of 13, when his family moved south. Inspired by the activity in his new environment — especially the output of Young Thug — SahBabii made tentative steps with a couple mixtapes, Pimpin Ain’t Easy and Glocks & Thots, released during his early teen years. Tepid reception left SahBabii dispirited, but after an extended break from recording, the rapper returned at the tail-end of 2016 with S.A.N.D.A.S., his third mixtape, with production from his brother T3. The tape’s “Pull Up with Ah Stick,” featuring Loso Loaded, exemplified SahBabii‘s refined synthesis of gunplay threats and candy-coated hooks. The track was licensed to major-label Warner Bros. and released commercially the following April. In 2018, he issued the singles “Outstanding” with 21 Savage and “Watery.” His highly anticipated follow up mixtape, Squidtastic, is in its final stages and will be released at the end of Summer 2018.

OMB Peezy Mourns His Best Friend in the Heartwrenching “My Dawg” Clip, Premiered by WSHH

Video: OMB Peezy – “My Dawg”

The Alabama-Native and Bay Area Resident Shares a Visual to One of the Most Emotionally Affecting Songs from Loyalty Over Love

    08.30.2018

    Critical Praise:

“[OMB Peezy] is tough but melodic, with a youthfully urgent voice and production that’s indebted to Louisiana and California.” – New York Times

“Peezy’s impassioned flow makes the circumstances he’s discussing feel visceral and immediate as a listener; there’s nothing impressionistic about his bars” – Pigeons and Planes

“This kid from Alabama is the future of rap.” – The FADER

    The Video:

OMB Peezy puts his heart and soul into his raps songs, expounding upon his state-of-mind with veracity and feeling. Mourning a lost loved one in a new clip, OMB Peezy shares “My Dawg.” Emoting over twinkling piano and soulful organ, a distraught Peezy tries to figure out how to live without one of his closest friends. “My Dawg” is one of the standout tracks on  Loyalty Over LovePeezy’s recently released mixtape. In the video, he grieves over his dawg’s grave, honestly expressing how he wishes the circumstances were different. Last week, Peezy treated fans to another revealing glimpse when he shared Behind The Title: Loyalty Over Love, a new FADER-premiered mini-doc that explains the main themes behind the album.

Whether he’s seething at inept law enforcement on the previously released and Noisey-premiered Fuck My P.O.,” fiercely asserting his individuality and independence within an oppressive system on “Souljah Life Mentality,” enjoying the spoils of his success in the TK Kravitz-featuring Yeah Yeah,” mourning lost friends in the recently released “My Dawg,” or paying tribute to the West Coast with the Dr. Dre-referencing and Donny Hathaway-sampling “Ghetto Boy.” Peezy is a magnetic presence, weaving his threats and boasts around hot instrumentals. Featuring additional appearances from Mozzy, Paper Lovee, and OMB Iceberg, Loyalty Over Love arrives via Sick Wid It Records/300 Ent.

    The Background:

  • The Prolific Veteran and Hip-Hop Legend Shares the Latest Video From The Gift of Gab, His 28th Studio Album

    The Video:

Cruising into his fourth decade of rap stardom, Vallejo’s E-40 only gets better with age. Strutting his stuff above a filthy hyphy instrumental, E-40 comes down hard on bullshitters in Ain’t Talking Bout Nothin’,” his latest single. Recruiting two Los Angeles rappers for a quick drive up The 5 to Oakland, 40 spars with Vince Staples and G Perico on the single, creating a fascinating contrast of styles: 40 uses his unlimited vocabulary and unique flow to create a nursery rhyme of sorts, while Perico aggressively reps for South Central and Vince mocks mumble rappers with his nimble flow. In the video, the three emcees wild out in a dark room, lit only by neon and the fire in their eyes.

Last week, the prolific hip-hop legend shared The Gift of Gabhis 28th solo studio album, and the first of three 2018 LPs in the The Definition Series. On the new album, 40 flexes his lexicon over high-definition Bay Area beats, wielding his rubbery and elastic flow to expand his sonic palette and mutate the mainstream to fit his singular vision. Featuring appearances from Ty Dolla $ign, Kent Jones, Yhung T.O., Problem, FMB DZ, Sada Baby, Konshens and moreThe Gift of Gab is available via Sick Wid It Records.

On August 29th, E-40 embarks on The Gift of Gab Tour. Spanning 21 dates across the west coast, The Gift of Gab Tour features special guests Nef The Pharaoh and OMB Peezy and will offer fans the opportunity to meet 40 at a special Meet & Eat with 40 and Trap Kitchen. Buy tickets here.

An unstoppable force in the rap game, E-40 churns out charting albums with remarkable efficiency. Earlier this year, the rapper teamed up with B-Legit, his cousin and with 40, a co-founder of seminal rap group The Click, for Connected & Respecteda full-length collaborative album. Packed with classic Bay Area slappers like the P-Lo-featuring dancefloor jam “BOY,” Connected & Respected is a master-class in rhyming and a treatise to the importance of keeping it in the family. In addition to his prolific musical output and his frequent courtside appearances at Golden State Warriors games, E-40 is an accomplished businessman in the adult beverage industry, hitting it big with his Earl Stevens Selections line of wine, his best-selling mixed cocktail drink Sluricane, and most recently, E. Cuarenta, his new brand of premium tequila. E-40 continues to add to his legacy with The Gift of Gab, with two more albums slated to release before the end of this year.

👹 Hoodrich Pablo Juan 👹 Recruits BlocBoy JB for the Surreal and Psychedelic “Tik Tok” Video

Video: Hoodrich Pablo Juan – “Tik Tok” ft. BlocBoy JB (Prod. by Danny Wolf)

The 1017 Alamo Rising Star Teams with an XXL Freshman to Bring a Head-Nodding Highlight from Hoodwolf 2 to Life

    8.28.2018

    Critical Praise:

“Nine out of ten rap fans seem to agree: Hoodrich Pablo Juan is up next.”Complex

HoodRich Pablo Juan should be Atlanta’s next up.” – Stereogum

“A smooth-talking rapper with a nonchalant charm.” Pitchfork

    The Video:

Radiating a low-key menace that belies his nimble flow, ATL’s Hoodrich Pablo Juan is a major figure in the trap game. Deploying a triplet flow above a lurching instrumental courtesy of Danny Wolf, Pablo Juan assumes the role of a lothario on Tik Tok.” Connecting with an XXL Freshman, hyperactive Tennessee rapper BlocBoy JB, Pablo Juan delivers a mechanical, but highly danceable single, as the two emcees flex their wealth and rhyme about a woman who will do anything for fame. In the video, Pablo Juan and BlocBoy JB float through a hallucinogenic fever dream, marked by demonic tv clips, foreign cars, and a sultry female fire dancer. “Tik Tok” is the latest release from  Hoodwolf 2, an absorbing slice of head-nodding trap and a full-length collaboration between Hoodrich Pablo Juan and Danny Wolf, who produced Lil Pump‘s “Flex Like Ouu,” Ugly God’s Billboard Hot 100-charting “Water,” and others. Featuring appearances from Rich The Kid, BlocBoy JB, and Lil DukeHoodwolf 2 is available on all streaming platforms via 1017 Alamo.

Hoodwolf 2 is Hoodrich Pablo Juan’s third project of 2018, following January’s Rich Hood, featuring appearances from Lil Yachty, Lil Baby, Gunna, Key Glock and others, and February’s The Matrix, a EP-length collaboration with popular French electronic DJ Brodinski. A quick dose of aggro-trap brilliance, Stereogum praised the EP, calling it “a fascinating combination, with Hoodrich Pablo Juan’s liquid flow wending its way intuitively through Brodinski’s gleaming synths.” Rich Hood and The Matrix capitalized on the momentum of several acclaimed 2017 mixtapes, most notably, Designer Drugz 3, which had the emcee holding his own with some of the most accomplished members of ATL’s A-List, including Gucci Mane, Migos, Lil Yachty, Playboi Carti, and with production from Metro Boomin, Zaytoven, Nard & B, Cassius Jay, DJ Spinz, Honorable C-Note and more. Designer Drugz 3 boasted the hit single “We Don’t Luv Em,” produced by Hoodwolf 2’s own Danny Wolf, which has over 35 million streams on all platforms.

Executive produced by Young Thug, who appears on the Billboard-premiered Slimey As It Get,” 88 Birdz is a showcase for Doe Boy’s hypnotic flows and understated bars, as he rhymes about his troubled childhood, his recent prison stay, and his aspirations to reach the upper echelons of the rap game. Packed with slithery beats from ATL superproducer TM88 of 808 Mafia (Lil Uzi Vert’s “XO Tour Llif3,” Future’s “Codeine Crazy”), with co-production from the likes of Zaytoven, 88 Birdz shows Doe Boy at his full potential, deftly illustrating why he is your favorite rapper’s favorite rapper. Featuring two appearances from Future and Young Thug, plus appearances from Juicy J and Moneybagg Yo88 Birdz arrives via Freebandz.

With over 25 million YouTube plays, and international radio spins, the established soloist who has written a litany of artists including Zendaya and Jeremih is finally coming into his own. • “Always Never just released their first single, ‘Call Me Over,’ paired with two more glossy and exultant tracks. It’s hard not to think of the mystery of early Weeknd watching their debut video, an ambiguous and blown-out clip that only gives away so much.”The FADER

    The Album:

Crafting emotionally complex relationship stories with the delicate melodies of R&B and the sonic heft of trap, Toronto duo Always Never makes music for the post-midnight hours. Culminating a rapid rise that saw the duo rack up tens of millions of streams on all platforms, Always Never shares Always Nevertheir debut album, premiered by Complex. Collecting 14 story-driven and deeply textured cloud R&B jams, Always Never stands within and apart from the busy Toronto urban music scene, setting itself apart from the crowd with delicate and nuanced vocal performances from singer Patrick Kirschner over bass-heavy, yet somehow light-as-a-feather productions from Dean Guilbault, influenced in equal measure by PartyNextDoor, 6lack, and Metallica. The follow-up to 2017’s Call Me Over EP, the new album boasts previously released tracks such as the viral hit Wylin‘,” which has over 5 million combined streams, and the recent “Dangerous,” which has over 200k combined plays since its release in July, as well as popular singles  “Millions,” No Good,” and “Morgan Freeman.”

Always Never explains the album: “This album is a huge moment for us and probably one of the most challenging things we’ve ever had to do. The idea of making a body of work this big used to scare the shit out of us to be honest. We’re also control freaks when it comes to our music so we actually wrote, recorded and produced every song in our little Toronto apartment. We’ve been through a lot since starting Always Never and we’re not afraid to admit that. I think what people will connect with the most on this project is how honest and relatable it is.”

Their next single, Wylin‘,” turned even more heads, earning coverage from Genius and gaining prominent placement in Spotify’s All The Feels (1.2M followers), Mellow Bars (680K Followers) and Alternative R&B (703k followers) playlists. With “Wylin'” earning more than 700,000 streams per month on Spotify alone, Always Never proves the formidable artistry that turns a buzzing singles artist into a respected act. See Always Never live for the first time at The Mod Club in Toronto on October 10th. Tickets go on-sale at 1:00pm EST on Monday August 27th.

  • Press Release

E-40 Shares The Gift of Gab Album, the First Album in “The Definitions Series,” With Vince Staples, Ty Dolla $ign & More

Album: E-40 – The Gift of Gab

The Hip-Hop Legend Releases A Streamlined and Star-Studded New Album, the First of Three Solo Albums to Come Out in 2018; Shares Super-Hyphy “Wicked” Video ft. Rich Rocka

    The Album:

Coining sticky catchphrases for years, since well before the current crop of rappers left diapers, Vallejo’s E-40 is rap’s Lord of Lexicon, a verifiable sultan of slang. Returning to the fold with his 28th studio album, the prolific hip-hop legend shares The Gift of Gabhis new LP, and the first of three 2018 LPs in the The Definition Series. With a massive vocabulary and a knack for finding hidden meanings, E-40 earned a reputation as one of the best lyricists in hip-hop, twisting phrases that embed themselves in listener’s heads and in the culture at large: Captain Save-a-Hoe, Broccoli (weed), Fetti (money), and more. On the new album, 40 flexes his lexicon over high-definition Bay Area beats, wielding his rubbery and elastic flow to expand his sonic palette and mutate the mainstream to fit his singular vision. Featuring appearances from Vince Staples, Ty Dolla $ign, G Perico, Kent Jones, Yhung T.O., Problem, FMB DZ, Sada Baby, Konshens and moreThe Gift of Gab releases via Sick Wid It Records.

To accompany the release of the album, E-40 shares “Wicked,” a minimalist party jam off the new album. With an appearance from Rich Rocka on the hook, “Wicked” finds 40 employing an entrancing stop-start flow, kicking off the song on the perfect note: “Well damn, another muthafuckin’ slappy/Make ya mammy wanna slap ya pappy/Make ya motorcycle pop a wheelie/Figure 8, make ya ’50 do a 360.” In the video, which features a cameo appearance from Nef The Pharaoh, OMB Peezy, JT The 4th, B-Legit, Choose Up Cheese, Cousin Fik, and Laroo, 40 goes dumb in a warehouse, echoing his classic video for “Tell Me When To Go,” while muscle cars do figure 8s and donuts under the Oakland sun.

In the past few years alone, he’s been featured on several Billboard charts (“Choices,” Big Sean’s “IDFWU”, Ty Dolla $ign’s “Saved”), he’s earned an RIAA-certified Gold plaque (“Choices”) and starred and had his 2006 smash hit “Tell Me When to Go” featured in a Beats By Dre commercial.

OTM Frenchyy Recruits Fellow Floridian Rod Wave for “Seen It All,” Premiered by HipHopSince1987

Video: OTM Frenchyy – “Seen It All” ft. Rod Wave

The Two Florida Rappers and Alamo Labelmates Take a Peek Into the Vagaries of the Criminal Justice System in a New Clip

    08.23.2018

    Critical Praise

“Don’t sleep on this prospective star” – Lyrical Lemonade

    The Video:

Delivering slice-of-life maxims in a drawly sing-song, OTM Frenchyy is a leading purveyor of Southern-fried street rap. Returning with a piano-laden piece of gospel rap, Frenchyy drops knowledge on “Seen It All,” his latest video. Recruiting Alamo labelmate Rod Wave, who contributes a passionate and infectious chorus, Frenchyy dramatizes his legal issues in the HipHopSince1987-premiered clip, standing up to police interrogation and refusing to snitch on his OTM brethren. “Seen It All” follows the raucous video for Bricks To The A,” premiered earlier this month by Dirty-Glove Bastard, and last week’s poignant “Trials & Tribulations” clip.

Explains Frenchyy, “I’ve seen it all from the ups to the downs. I had people I thought would always be there for me turn their back on me. Gotta keep your eyes on your own paper. That’s what my teacher taught me.”

The ringleader of the Deep South-based OTM crew, along with OTM Ruger, Frenchyy is one of the most promising rappers in Florida. Building up a grassroots fanbase with an endless stream of quality videos, Frenchyy had several tracks cross the 100,000 view mark on YouTube, including the poignant “Out The Mud,” and the hedonistic “I Need More.” Signed to Alamo Records, OTM Frenchyy is steadily gaining fans and earning critical attention. He’s ready to break out in a big way in 2018. Stay tuned for his debut solo project, coming soon.
