Big Havi Shows Scenes from ATL BLM Protests in “Blood N My Eyes,” Premiered by HNHH

    8.4.2020

Video: Big Havi – “Blood N My Eyes” (dir. by Qasquiat)

The Atlanta Rapper Reflects on His Upbringing Amidst Footage of Passionate Protests in the First Video from No Pen No Pad Just Pain EP

    Critical Praise:

“In a very unforgiving and fast moving musical context, Havi proves he can go toe to toe with the best of his rap contemporaries and likely stick around too.” – EARMILK

“BIG HAVI IS UP NEXT OUT OF EAST ATLANTA” – FLAUNT

“Big Havi’s authenticity is helping him garner a reputation as one of Hip Hop’s most promising emerging voices” – REVOLT

“The ‘9 Times Out Of 10’ rapper is poised to be Atlanta’s next star.” – ELEVATOR

“Big Havi’s got a way of latching onto the beat and making any track an earworm” – HipHopSince1987

    The Video:

Specializing in melodic and cathartic Southern music, Big Havi‘s songs dig deep into his trauma. Drawing a parallel between his internal pain and this country’s current racial reckoning, Havi shares Blood N My Eyes,” his new video. Warbling atop a ringing, reverbed guitar, Havi is an open wound, expressing the pain that he feels inside every day: “I know I lie/I told you I’m fine/But to be honest, a n**** hurtin’ inside.” In the video, directed by Qasquiat (Lil Uzi Vert, Roddy Ricch) and premiered by HotNewHipHop, Havi retreats in a remote Atlanta neighborhood, his emotional performance intercut with striking images of Atlanta’s Black Lives Matter protest. “Blood N My Eyes” is a highlight track from No Pen No Pad Just Pain, Havi’s recent EP.

His second EP of 2020, No Pen No Pad Just Pain finds the 20-year-old rapper pouring his heart out. Over the EP’s 8 tracks, Havi works through his thoughts and feelings about his rough upbringing, processing his PTSD and expressing his urgent desire to succeed. Haunted by memories of his traumatic past, Havi displays a wisdom well beyond his years, working through his issues with raw lyricism. He remembers when his mother struggled to pay bills on “Testimony” and muses on the isolation of struggling alone on “Scars N Scratches.

In February, Havi shared Personal Problems, an expressive project boasting the urban radio hit 9 Times Out Of 10.” With over 27 million total streams, more than 8 million YouTube views, and a feature from Lil Baby, “9 Times Out Of 10” reached #34 on the nationwide urban radio airplay chart. Earlier this year, Big Havi turned heads as a supporting act on tour with Lil TJay, performing songs from his Personal Problems EP. Earlier this summer, Havi shared the video for Personal Problems,” a project highlight with an appearance from Havi’s Commission Records labelmate Derez De’Shon (546k views).

With No Pen No Pad Just Pain EP and beyond, Havi looks to continue his success, with an eye on becoming the next ATL rapper to hit it big. Stay tuned for more music from Big Havi in the coming months.

    The Background:

The young rapper combines tuneful rhymes and an effortless flow about personal hardships and future aspirations. His relatable lyrics are what set him apart as a rising new star in an always crowded Atlanta rap scene. After a major label bidding war, Big Havi decided to take the indie route, signing with independent powerhouse Commission Records (MadeinTYO, Lil Dicky, Derez De’shon, Casey Veggies, IDK). On the heels of his hot new single “9 Times Out Of 10” continues to rise up urban radio charts, Havi shared his debut project Personal Problems on February 7th. Shoreline Mafia Release Their Highly Anticipated Debut Album Mafia Bidness

    7.31.2020

Album: Shoreline Mafia – Mafia Bidness

The L.A. Collective Comprised of Fenix Flexin, OhGeesy, Rob Vicious, and Master Kato Shares a 21-Track Pack of Function-Ready Slappers, Complete with an All-Star List of Guests from Cali and Beyond

    Critical Praise:

“After dropping a terrific debut album last November — a stylish bundle of songs that somehow felt nonchalant and meticulous at once — Shoreline Mafia has since become one of the most fascinating acts in a resurgent L.A. rap scene. And on Saturday night, the [collective’s] chemistry was something you could practically reach out and touch. These guys love rapping, and even more than that, they love rapping with each other.” – Washington Post

“Videos filmed in graffitied, just-made condos and fluorescent strip malls near East Hollywood helped make Shoreline Mafia the [collective] of choice for truant teenagers. “Musty”  and “Bottle Service” are definitive Shoreline: rollicking, slithering, and, in their creation, laughably janky and blatantly illegal.”  – Noisey

“Shoreline Mafia is leading L.A.’s unruly rap renaissance.” – The FADER

“The only prerequisites to enjoying their music are a functional set of ears” – Passion of the Weiss

    The Album:

Organically building a large and loyal fanbase on the West Coast, Shoreline Mafia is the game’s most vital rap collective. Continuing a journey that started with 2018’s ShorelineDoThatSh*t, Shoreline Mafia releases, Mafia Bidnesstheir hard-hitting, highly-anticipated official debut album. The new album strikes a balance between styles, delivering the handclap-driven, Ron-Ron and AceTheFace-produced West Coast bangers for which they’re known, but also dipping into classic styles like G-Funk, New Jack Swing, and hyphy, and experimenting with regional sounds from Detroit, Memphis, and New Orleans.

Though Mafia Bidness brings in high profile guest stars from all over the rap map, the album gets its spark from the chemistry and interplay between Fenix FlexinOhGeesyRob Vicious, and Master Kato The new album pays tribute to the memory of Mac P Dawg, a close friend of the collective’s who died earlier this year. Featuring appearances from FutureKodak BlackYGLil YachtyWiz Khalifa03 GreedoDrakeo The RulerDuke Deuce1TakeJayQ Da FoolMike ShermZ MoneyAFN PesoGT, and NfantMafia Bidness streams everywhere via Atlantic Records.

Shoreline Mafia spent spring and the early part of summer releasing banger after banger, starting with Gangstas & Sippas,” which eventually inspired a remix featuring YG. In recent months, the collective connected with Lil Yachty for the laid-back rider’s anthem Ride Out,” and with Wiz Khalifa for the Montell Jordan-sampling “How We Do It.” The album also boasts the hard-hitting recent singles Change Ya Life,” a bass-heavy West Coast rider’s anthem with over 2.7 million Spotify streams, and “Perc Popper,” a DJ Flipp-produced anthem with standout verses from Fenix Flexin and OhGeesy.

This spring, Rob Vicious shared his new mixtape Breakthrough, which featured production from Three 6 Mafia’s DJ Paul and a guest appearance from Fenix Flexin. Fenix is currently preparing to release his first solo project later this year. Last week, Shoreline Mafia earned another Platinum plaque from the RIAA, as “Musty” followed “Nun Major” and “Bands” as their third Platinum single.

In February, before the COVID pandemic, Shoreline performed their first festival-headlining set at Vancouver’s Lil Fest. Last night, the group performed an at-home set at the virtual Lollapalooza 2020 festival.

    The Background:

The pulse of Los Angeles loudly echoes through its rap crews.

In the late eighties, N.W.A. reflected the pre-riot tension of a city on the brink of total collapse. Cypress Hill finally gave the Latin community (and smokers everywhere) a seat at the pop culture table throughout the nineties. Odd Future magnified the skate mayhem of the Fairfax district in the aughts. That brings us to Shoreline Mafia. Since formally launching in 2016, the collective of four diverse, dynamic, and dangerous talents— OhGeesy [Alejandro Coranza], Rob Vicious [Robert Maggee], Fenix Flexin [Fenix Ryinski], and Master Kato [Malik Carson]—went from popular Soundcloud uploads to selling out arenas and picking up platinum plaques.

The group has garnered unanimous acclaim from Pitchfork, The FADER, Forbes, The Washington Post, Noisey, and more, and racked up more than 2 billion streams by 2020.

  • Press Release

wifisfuneral Performs His New Song “End Of Story” in His Home Studio

    7.30.2020

Video: wifisfuneral – “End Of Story”

The Florida Native Shares a Charismatic Performance Video for the Single from His Upcoming Pain? Project

    Critical Praise:

    XXL Freshman, Class of 2018

“[wifisfuneral] displays an impressive array of verbal acrobatics, showing off masterful breath control and a rapid fire flow.”  – Pitchfork

“He’s synthesized the regionless, borderless world of the internet age from which he takes his name, while lacing it with a narcotically addictive flow and a distinct ear for melody that’s allowed him to develop while others stagnate.” – NOISEY

“The young rapper has a wide range of skills, from agile raps and bass-heavy tracks to dark and moody slow-burners, and his unpredictability is part of his appeal” – Pigeons & Planes

    The Video:

Pivoting away from the cerebral rhymes on which he made his name, wifisfuneral has thrown himself into a new melodic artistic direction. Showing off his vocal chops, wifi shares a new live performance video of End Of Story,” his recent single. A melancholic and percussive trap ballad, “End Of Story” is a devotional song about a turbulent relationship that wifi is willing to risk anything to save: “My friends said I should leave you lonely/They don’t really see what you do for me/I’m gon’ ride ’til the end of the story.” In the video,  directed by MojiWilson, wifi performs the song in a secluded studio, his eyes closed as he relates his lyrics. The video offers a inside perspective into wifi’s process, and emphasizes the musicality of his new songs. “End Of Story” follows last week’s release of Lost In Time,” a lo-fi pop banger with an appearance from Coi Leray.

wifisfuneral is currently preparing to release Pain?, his upcoming project. Though previous tracks found wifi experimenting with auto-tune, including fan favorite single Run,” PAIN? proves that wifi has fully integrated melody into his cerebral songwriting. The new project finds the 23-year-old rapper crafting infectious hooks and expressing the deeply-felt emotion reflected in his lyrics. PAIN? releases later this summer via Alamo Records.

“End Of Story” and “Lost In Time” are wifi’s latest solo singles of 2020, following the dark and metallic ColdAsIce, released in March (504k Spotify streams) and the Cris Dinero-produced idk. Earlier this year, he teamed up with veteran rock band Buckcherry to update their 2006 hit “Crazy B*tch,” and appeared on Beretta,” a hit single by wifi’s fellow Floridian $not (17 million Spotify streams). PAIN? is the follow-up to the Ethernet series, comprised of albums EthernetEthernet 2, and most recently EV3RYTHING SUCKS, wifi’s December 2019 EP, which featured appearances from YBN Nahmir and Ratchet Roach.

    The Background:

22-year-old South Florida rapper wifisfuneral has taken his dark sonics, mature-beyond-his-years lyrics, and trunk rattling bass from the streets of Palm Beach to the world, amassing over 1.7 million monthly listeners on Spotify and over 700,000 followers on various social media platforms. wifisfuneral’s growth has been organic and cult-like, with his fans spreading his music like wildfire with each and every release. With virtually zero promotion other than his social media presence, wifisfuneral’s independent projects Black Heart Revenge (May 27th, 2016) and When Hell Falls (January 27, 2017) reached #69 and #17 on the iTunes hip-hop charts respectively, resulting in a label deal with Alamo and Interscope Records. His major label debut mixtape, Boy Who Cried Wolf, received critical acclaim, with two of the tracks earning placement in the Spotify’s coveted Most Necessary playlist. His latest mixtape, Ethernet, was released in June 2018 via Alamo Records. In 2018, wifisfuneral was officially named to the XXL Freshman List and reached #1 on YouTube’s trending chart. In 2019, wifi headlined two nationwide tours, released two follow-up EPs to Ethernet, and collaborated with Robb Bank$ on the Conn3ct3d project.

Artists Like Lil Nas X and Lizzo Voice Their Support of TikTok Amidst Uncertainty

Dillon Francis, Bebe Rexha, Lil Yachty, and Other Artists Speak Out In Favor of the App, Praising Its Focus on Artist Engagement, Authenticity, and Music Discovery

    The News:

TikTok is an essential part of the music ecosystem, propelling hits to the top of the charts and allowing artists show off their unfiltered selves while engaging with fans. The platform doesn’t just benefit major stars–TikTok provides an opportunity for creators of all types to find an audience and make a living. This weekend, after the president illegally threatened to ban TikTok, artists of all stripes came out in support of TikTok, taking to social media and voicing their love for the platform.

    • Lil Nas X, the man behind the biggest TikTok hit of all time “Old Town Road,” cheekily big-upped TikTok with a succinct, profane message on Twitter, earning over 500k combined likes and retweets.
    • Lizzo, another major success story on TikTok, continues to use the platform regularly. Most recently, she choreographed a complex hand dance to Jasiah’s single “Crisis,” imploring fans to watch and engage with her videos on TikTok.
    • Superstar DJ Dillon Francis is an avid TikTok user, posting multiple videos per week about his desire to never leave his house, trying and failing to take a picture of the moon, and offering a requiem for his fake ID. On Saturday, Dillon sat in silent prayer, pleading with potential buyer Microsoft to keep TikTok as free and fun as it always has been (to the tune of the theme from best-selling Xbox series Halo).
    • Internet-savvy rapper/producer Sueco The Child credits his career and major label deal with Atlantic Records to his success on TikTok. On Saturday, a mischievous Sueco commented on TikTok’s to-be-launched competitor Instagram Reels, describing some features of that app that might seem very familiar to TikTok users.
    • Atlanta rapper Lil Yachty uses TikTok to show off another side of his personality, revealing a sensitive goofball beneath the bluster of his music persona. This weekend, Yachty posted a sweet video of himself taking in a beautiful day, writing “Trump plz don’t take TikTok away from me… it’s the only app I can be myself publicly on.
    • Pop trio Avenue Beat harnessed the power of TikTok to draw attention to their highly-catchy and unfortunately-topical new song “F2020.” With over 6 million Spotify streams in just one month of release, “F2020” started life as a video on the band’s TikTok, generating over 14 million views as fans clamored for an official release. The song is now a popular sound of its own, with over 10k creations on the platform. In a video posted the weekend, Avenue Beat singled out the potential loss of the platform that helped them break out as yet another reason to say “F2020.”

With additional supportive statements made by the likes of Bebe Rexha and Mariah Carey, it’s clear that artists believe that TikTok is a major boon to their careers and a great way to connect with their fans. “TikTok is a home for creators and artists to express themselves, their ideas, and connect with people across different backgrounds,” said TikTok U.S. GM Vanessa Pappas via TikTok on Sunday, “and we are so proud of all the various communities that call TikTok their home.” The music community understands the creative potential of TikTok, and prizes the app as a way to deeply connect with fans. The artists–like TikTok–aren’t going anywhere.

Shoreline Mafia & Wiz Khalifa Head to the Skate Park in the “How We Do It” Video

    7.28.2020

Video: Shoreline Mafia – “How We Do It” ft. Wiz Khalifa

Fenix Flexin and Wiz Khalifa Flip a Montell Jordan Classic in the Latest Single From Mafia Bidness, Out This Friday

    The Video:

Dropping a steady stream of heat as they prepare for their debut album, Shoreline Mafia is about to take the West Coast by storm. Coming through with a socially-distanced summertime vibe, Shoreline shares the music video for How We Do It. Sampling Montell Jordan‘s #1 hit and L.A. classic “This Is How We Do It,” “How We Do It” is a statement of purpose for Fenix Flexin and the rest of Shoreline Mafia, as he asserts his undying devotion to getting money and getting faded: “I mix molly with my Henn/I get geeked up, count my ends/If a n**** run up on me/Pull this thirty out my pants.” In the video, Fenix and guest rapper Wiz Khalifa head to an L.A. skate park in a low-riding Chevy, as they vibe with the locals to the beat of the music. Released last week, “How We Do It” is the latest single from Mafia BidnessShoreline Mafia’s official debut album, out July 31st via Atlantic Records.

Mafia Bidness is the culmination of a massive year for Shoreline Mafia, packing in 21 tracks worth of Los Angeles heat. Earlier this month, Shoreline shared “Change Ya Life,” a bass-heavy West Coast rider’s anthem with over 2 million Spotify streams. They followed-up “Change Ya Life” with “Perc Popper,” a DJ Flipp-produced anthem with standout verses from Fenix Flexin and OhGeesy. In late June, the crew connected with YG for “Gangstas & Sippas” (Remix), a new version of the Too $hort-sampling, Q Da Fool-featuring slapper. Earlier this year, Shoreline recruited Lil Yachty for the laid-back rider’s anthem Ride Out.” “Change Ya Life,” “Perc Popper,” “Ride Out” and “Gangstas & Sippas” (Remix) will all appear on Mafia Bidness.

Working with frequent collaborators and new faces, Mafia Bidness expands and refines the Shoreline sound, offering viciously clever bars atop propulsive instrumentals. Hosted by OhGeesyFenix FlexinRob Vicious, and Master Kato, the upcoming project fits firmly within the West Coast tradition, offering beats that reference classic hyphy, G-funk, and party rap tracks, bringing hard-hitting L.A. anthems produced by frequent collaborators Ron-Ron and Ace The Face, and furthering the deep connection between flourishing rap scenes in Los Angeles and Detroit. Dedicated to the memory of the collective’s late friend Mac P DawgMafia Bidness hits DSPs on this Friday and is now available for pre-order.

This spring, Rob Vicious shared his new mixtape Breakthrough, which featured production from Three 6 Mafia’s DJ Paul and a guest appearance from Fenix Flexin. Fenix is currently preparing to release his first solo project later this year. In February, before the COVID pandemic, Shoreline performed their first festival-headlining set at Vancouver’s Lil Fest.

    Video: Jackboy – “Lost Ties”

The Pompano Beach, FL Rapper Alternates Between Bouncy Flows and Sweet Melodies

    Critical Praise:

“Jackboy couches stouthearted streetisms in his minihooks, stuff that doesn’t really apply to your life, but feels fun to sing aloud, and seems primed for Instagram captions.” – The Ringer

“One thing is for certain: Jackboy is on his way.” – XXL

    The Video:

Switching on a dime between crackling rhymes and earworm melodies, Jackboy throws his entire being into every song he creates. Coming through with an emotional new anthem, Jackboy shares “Lost Ties,” his latest music video. Produced by TNTxD, who layers somber pianos atop gently swung snares, “Lost Ties” finds the Sniper Gang rapper recounting the adversities he faced, his voice breaking as he sings about his troubled youth: “Ain’t no way, could I be fake/How I played the game so raw/When I was posted at the corner store, I ain’t think I’d make it this far.” In his next breath, Jack steels his nerves, switching back to a locked-in flow with feverish intensity: “But I did, b*tch, yeah I did.”

In the video, Jackboy criss-crosses the country, flexing in Florida on his private jet, before heading to the Bay to make money moves. Directed by DrewFilmedIt, the video makes a compelling case of Jack’s growth from local concern to national star. The follow-up to Jackboy’s hometown anthem In My City” (2 million views), “Lost Ties” is the latest single from Jackboy’s Living In History project, arriving August 27th via Sniper Gang/EMPIRE.

Living In History is set to be Jackboy’s second project of 2020, following his successful JACKBOY project. Buoyed by the single Like A Million,” featuring Jackboy’s close childhood friend and Sniper Gang associate Kodak BlackJACKBOY is the artist’s most successful album yet, propelling the rapper to the Top 300 of Rolling Stone’s Artist chart.

The project inspired a long list of successful video singles, including clips for “Cleaning Crew” (6.2 million views) and breakout hit Pressure” (22 million views), which recently earned a Genius Verified video. Jackboy’s strict work ethic and constant video creation during the Pandemic earned the attention of The Ringer, who spotlighted the artist and his frequent director DrewFilmedIt in an article about music videos during COVID-19.

    EMPIRE Background:

EMPIRE was founded in 2010 as an artist-friendly, progressive digital distribution company. After early success, and identifying future icons such as Kendrick Lamar, Anderson .Paak, and Rich Homie Quan, EMPIRE was quickly regarded as a tastemaker in the industry and throughout the past five years evolved into a full-fledged record label, distributor and publisher for independent musicians. With the company and roster growing at a breakneck pace, EMPIRE has effectively disrupted a stale business model by bringing its energy, expertise, and acumen to its artists and labels. Today, EMPIRE works with some of music’s hottest talent, ranging from superstars such as T.I. and Snoop Dogg, red-hot newcomers such as SOB X RBE and Mozzy, and established veterans like Jim Jones and Redman. While remaining 100% independent, EMPIRE has also partnered with Atlantic Records for a joint venture, home to breakout star D.R.A.M. and propelled singles by Fat Joe & Remy Ma (“All The Way Up,” 2x Platinum), Tyga (“Taste,” 3x Platinum), and Lil Duval (“Smile”) to the top of the Billboard Hip-Hop Charts. In April 2018, EMPIRE signed a global distribution deal with Universal Music Group for select artist projects.

    The Song:

Shoreline Mafia are leaders of the new L.A. rap renaissance, but sometimes they like to flip the track and bring the old school back. Adapting a party rap classic to fit their illicit lifestyle, Shoreline Mafia shares How We Do It,” a re-imagining of the Montell Jordan #1 hit “This Is How We Do It.” Bringing back the smooth piano and insistent horns that define the original, the new production by LowTheGreat adds thump to the rhythm section, using 808s and rattling hi-hats to bring the beat into 2020. The new song is a showcase for Fenix Flexin, who interpolates the original hook and trades verses with an energetic Wiz Khalifa. “How We Do It” is the latest in a line of fiery pre-release singles from Mafia Bidness, Shoreline Mafia’s official debut album, out July 31st via Atlantic Records.

    The Video:

With a fully developed sense of drama and serious attention to detail, King Von is the rap game’s foremost street storyteller. Processing his friend’s betrayal atop producer Chopsquad DJ‘s emotional pianos, King Von shares Why He Told,” his new video single. Directed by Joán, the video brings Von’s lyrics to life, relaying the song’s story from the perspective of Von and the friend who wronged him. “Why He Told” alternates scenes of Von reminiscing about his friendship, while Von’s former friend is haunted by guilt and afraid for his life.

Within six months, Von had a series of viral hits, including the sinister Problems,” which has over 3.4 million views after its debut on Lil Durk’s YouTube channel, and the defiant “War Wit Us,” which has over 3.8 million YouTube views. Though they’ve lately been pursuing solo projects, Mal & Quill have reunited often over the past few months, tag-teaming Mal’s single How It Feel” in April, connecting this January for “Back @ It” from Quill’s Don Quillon mixtape, and joining forces for “Hold Tight,” from Quill’s Big Quill EP.

My Favorite Color Shares the Poignant and Darkly Funny “Funeral” Video

    07.22.2020

Video: My Favorite Color – “Funeral”

The Rostrum Records Signee Attends His Own Funeral in the First Video from His Upcoming Velma Project

    Critical Praise:

“His music is powerful. Each bar drips with the confusion and existential dread of a man who feels out of place in his world.” – Noisey

    The Video:

Delivering thoughtful bars with a plainspoken flow, My Favorite Color pours his whole being into his craft. Contemplating his mortality and how his absence would affect his friends and family, My Favorite Color shares his new music video for Funeral.” Riding the heavenly instrumental, My Favorite Color imagines reactions of his loved ones to his death, each one grieving in their own way before eventually moving on.

Directed by Lucas Taggart, the new music video brings My Favorite Color’s lyrics to life, progressing from the funeral service, to the viewing, to the burial, all while the rapper stands witness. The video finds moments of humor amidst the sadness, whether from an uncle who can’t help but steal the flowers, or the friend who blubbers his crocodile tears. The video ends as My Favorite Color ascends into the spiritual realm, fighting against cosmic forces in an attempt to get his life back.

Born in California, My Favorite Color spent much of his youth in Pittsburgh, starting his rap career in a diverse Pittsburgh rap scene. Living with a single mom who filled his house with the sounds of neosoul, R&B, and hip-hop, My Favorite Color started his deep dive into rap music in high school, starting with the classics, but eventually falling in love with the genre’s left field, particularly rappers like Earl Sweatshirt, MIKE, Isaiah Rashad, and MF DOOM. In 2018, the rhymer shared his debut EP Go!, with appearances from Pet Zebra and Benji., earning the respect of his artistic peers in the Pittsburgh scene, leading to a prominent feature in a Noisey-published overview of the city’s rap scene in 2019.

Now living in L.A. and signed to Rostrum Records, the label that broke Pittsburgh legends like Mac Miller and Wiz Khalifa, My Favorite Color is looking to turn heads with Velma, his debut full-length, coming this summer.

wifisfuneral and Coi Leray Duet on the Immersive “Lost In Time”

    7.21.2020

Audio: wifisfuneral – “Lost In Time” ft. Coi Leray

The Alamo Records Signee Continues to Explore His Melodic New Artistic Direction on this Immersive Single from PAIN?

    The Song:

Ever pushing the bounds of his artistry, wifisfuneral shows something new with every project. On his new single Lost In Time,” wifi leaves behind the insular, cerebral rhymes of his past in favor of a sleek, melodic sound. Flexing his vocal muscles atop subsonic bass and futuristic electric keys, evoking the lo-fi pop of mysterious singer Jai Paul, wifisfuneral and guest vocalist Coi Leray try to escape a vicious cycle of breaking up and making up, determined not to waste their youth on a relationship that can’t be fixed. “Lost In Time” is the latest release from PAIN?wifi’s upcoming project, following the romantic End Of Story” single (215k+ Spotify streams).

“End Of Story” is wifi’s latest solo single of 2020, following the dark and metallic ColdAsIce, released in March (492k Spotify streams) and the Cris Dinero-produced idk. Earlier this year, he teamed up with veteran rock band Buckcherry to update their 2006 hit “Crazy B*tch,” and appeared on Beretta,” a hit single by wifi’s fellow Floridian $not (16 million Spotify streams). PAIN? is the follow-up to the Ethernet series, comprised of albums EthernetEthernet 2, and most recently EV3RYTHING SUCKS, wifi’s December 2019 EP, which featured appearances from YBN Nahmir and Ratchet Roach.

    The Background:

23-year-old South Florida rapper wifisfuneral has taken his dark sonics, mature-beyond-his-years lyrics, and trunk rattling bass from the streets of Palm Beach to the world, amassing over 1.7 million monthly listeners on Spotify and over 700,000 followers on various social media platforms. wifisfuneral’s growth has been organic and cult-like, with his fans spreading his music like wildfire with each and every release.

Shoreline Mafia Shares “Perc Popper,” Their Latest Mafia Bidness Party Anthem

  • Press Release

Shoreline Mafia Shares “Perc Popper,” Their Latest Mafia Bidness Party Anthem

    7.17.2020

Audio: Shoreline Mafia – “Perc Popper”

OhGeesy and Fenix Flexin Indulge in Their Favorite Pastimes in the Latest Single From the L.A. Collective’s 7/31 Mafia Bidness Project

These guys love rapping, and even more than that, they love rapping with each other.”  Washington Post

    The Song:

The most gleefully hedonistic emcees in L.A.’s new rap renaissance, Shoreline Mafia specialize in hard-hitting, party-positive bangers. Today, the West Coast’s favorite rap collective shares Perc Popper,” an unapologetically raw new anthem. Produced by DJ Flipp, “Perc Popper” is a showcase for Fenix Flexin and OhGeesy, as the two emcees engage in a friendly competition to determine who is more savage: “In a foreign whip n**** and it’s stolen/Look at my mouth, lil b*tch, I’m golden,” says Fenix. “Perc Popper” is the latest single from Mafia Bidnessthe group’s upcoming debut album, following the Helluva-produced Change Ya Life” (1.5 million Spotify streams in two weeks).

Working with frequent collaborators and new faces, Mafia Bidness expands and refines the Shoreline sound, offering viciously clever bars atop propulsive instrumentals. Hosted by OhGeesyFenix FlexinRob Vicious, and Master Kato, the upcoming project fits firmly within the West Coast tradition, offering beats that reference classic hyphy, G-funk, and party rap tracks, bringing hard-hitting L.A. anthems produced by frequent collaborators RonRon and Ace The Face, and furthering the deep connection between flourishing rap scenes in Los Angeles and Detroit. Dedicated to the memory of the collective’s late friend Mac P DawgMafia Bidness hits DSPs on July 31st via Atlantic Records and is now available for pre-order.

Mafia Bidness is the crown jewel of a massive year for Shoreline Mafia. In late June, the crew connected with YG for “Gangstas & Sippas” (Remix), a new version of the Too $hort-sampling, Q Da Fool-featuring slapper. Earlier this year, Shoreline recruited Lil Yachty for the laid-back rider’s anthem Ride Out.” Both “Ride Out” and “Gangstas & Sippas” (Remix) will appear on Mafia Bidness.

“We wanted to meet you all at BBF this year more than anything,” said the festival organizers in an Instagram statement. “However, after exploring multiple avenues to try and make it work for 2020, we exhausted all potential options. The refund option will remain open for the next seven days to give guests time to make their decision.

🔥 Warning: Lil Gotit Shows Off His Flamethrower in the “Bootron” Video

    7.15.2020

    Video: Lil Gotit – “Bootron”

The Alamo Records Signee Heats Up in the Latest Hood Baby 2Visual

    Critical Praise:

“Lil Gotit is the heir to Atlanta’s rap throne” – The FADER

“Fresh off the release of his latest project, Crazy But It’s True, in March, ‘Lil Ralph’ is another step toward Lil Gotit having the sort of 2019 come-up that Lil Baby and Gunna had last year.” – Complex

“Like a fairy tale set in Atlanta’s Lenox Mall” – Pitchfork

    The Video:

Lil Gotit’s distinct melodic style and off-the-wall lyricism propelled him to rising star status in Atlanta and beyond. Preparing to torch his competition, Gotit shares Bootron,” his latest video. Produced by Kay9ine & RokOnTheTrack, “Bootron” is a hypnotic trap track, slowing down Gotit’s usual manic delivery to a methodical pace as he brags about how females love him and he loves them back: “Everybody eatin’, yeah, we like to grub/For all my thots up in this world, show some love.” In the video, Gotit holes up in a remote cabin with a scantily-clad baddie as he shows off his dangerous new toys. “Bootron” is the latest in a line of quality videos from  Hood Baby 2, following the black-and-white Bricks In The Attic” (over 1 million views) and the country-fried No Kizzy (over 300k views).

The sequel to his 2018 debut mixtape, which announced the then-19-year-old Gotit as a player to watch in his hometown scene, Hood Baby 2 demonstrates the rapper’s artistic evolution–his flows hit harder, his ad-libs are wilder, and his money is longer. The project is home to Drip Day N Night ft. Gunna and Gotit’s brother Lil Keed and “Yeah Yeah,” featuring Keed and Future. Featuring additional appearances from Lil YachtyGuap TarantinoRG JaydogSG KendallUno Freaky, and B SlimeHood Baby 2 is available everywhere via Alamo Records.

    XXL Class of 2018 Freshman

“Purpp has caught the ears of everyone from The Weeknd and D.R.A.M. to Chief Keef and Travis Scott, and the 19-year-old rapper is in position for a rapid ascent” – Pigeons & Planes

“Out of all the SoundCloud and Florida rappers that have gained floods of attention and acclaim in recent years, Smokepurpp has stood as one of the movement’s strongest proponents and artists. – HYPEBEAST

    The Video:

Crafting energetic bangers atop distorted production, Smokepurpp makes mayhem music. Creating chaos in a remote location, Purpp shares Ends,” his eye-catching new music video. Produced by Purpp’s close friend and collaborator Ronny J, an architect of the SoundCloud trap scene and who most recently produced Kanye West’s new single “Wash Me In Blood,” “Ends” balances barely-there synths and haunting violins with overdriven bass and trunk-rattling 808s, as Purpp skates above the fray with a hard-hitting cadence: Watch how I hop out the G5/Throw hunnids racks in the VLive/This is Dior not no Fila/He got no bankroll, I know he tryna be mine/Watch how I take off, I’m feelin’ like Elon.”

In the video, Purpp and guest rapper Young Nudy flex under neon lights, holding deadly weapons and loudly proclaiming their superiority in the presence of a bevy of baddies. Directed by All The Smoke, the new clip uses split screen and grainy footage that combines with Purpp’s fierce demeanor to create a horror movie atmosphere. “Ends” is the latest video from Purpp’s new project Florida Jitfollowing the eye-popping animated video for “Tide Pen” ft. Jack Harlow and the high-octane Chopstix,” which features a cameo from Lil Mosey.

Populated with instrumentals from Ronny J, Earl On The Beat (City Girls, Lil Yachty), CBMIX (Lil Pump, Juice WRLD, Kanye West), and Purpp himself, Florida Jit delivers 17 tracks of high-energy trap music. Florida Jit hosts a series of successful recent singles singles, including It’s Whatever,” Pop Sh*t,” which inspired an outrageous music video, Off My Chest” ft. Lil Pump, which surpassed 4 million views on YouTube, and Big Dawg, a luxurious collaboration with fellow Floridian Rick Ross. Featuring an additional appearance from Denzel CurryFlorida Jit is available everywhere via Alamo Records.

On Sunday July 26th at 3pm PT, Smokepurpp and producer Apex Martin are teaming up with Cadenza.tv for an interactive concert experience. Purpp will perform his hits, including new songs from Florida Jit for the first time, and then judge a March Madness-style competition for user-submitted beats. The champion wins a day of working on music in person with Smokepurpp. More information on the livestream, the different ticket options and Cadenza can be found here. The deadline to submit beats is July 23rd.

    The Background:

The Chicago-born, Miami-raised rapper and producer Smokepurpp has been one of the cornerstones of Florida’s burgeoning rap scene since the release of his “Ski Mask” video in 2015. The buzz from the video and other singles with close friend Lil Pump culminated in a record deal with Alamo/Interscope Records and Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack Records. The 21-year old Purpp quickly went to work, collaborating with Scott, Yo Gotti, Pump, and more. His debut release, Deadstar, spawned the gold-certified single “Audi” and generated features from The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Pigeons & Planes, XXL, Mass Appeal, and many more. The follow up release, Bless Yo Trap, was a collaboration with Grammy-nominated producer Murda Beatz, boasted the standout single “123” and collaborations with Lil YachtyOffset, and A$AP Ferg. 2018 has been a banner year for Purpp so far, thanks to his selection on the 2018 XXL Freshman list, the release of “Nephew,” his Gold-certified collaboration with Lil Pump, which has over 100M streams across all platforms, and “I Love It,” the Kanye West and Pump collaboration which Purpp co-wrote and debuted at number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100. After delighting his fans with the Lost Planet EP in April, Purpp closed 2020 out with the highly-anticipated Deadstar 2. His most recent project, Florida Jit, released in June.

Jackboy Stands Up For His Hometown in His Heartfelt New Single

    7.10.2020

Video: Jackboy – “In My City”

Standing Up For His Brethren in Pompano Beach, FL, Jackboy Shares the First Single From the Upcoming Living In History Project

    The Video:

A versatile vocalist who never stops working, Jackboy is in the midst of an artistic and commercial hot streak. Paying homage to his hometown of Pompano Beach, FL and all the people who live there, Jackboy shares In My City,” his new video single. Switching up his flow between short bursts of syllables and taffy-like melodies, Jack stresses the need to stay vigilant in the streets, praising his hometown friends for their ever-readiness and their loyalty: “No rules in the street we bombin’ sh*t out like Osama/I ain’t worried ’bout you I got more shooters than Obama,” sings Jackboy.

Directed by DrewFilmedIt, the video introduces us to Jackboy’s native Pompano Beach, cutting between locations as the 23-year-old rapper mobs on a porch and at a gas station with his associates. Boasting the snaking guitars and crisp beats that Jackboy used to great effect in hits like “Cleaning Crew” (5.7 million views), “In My City” is the first single from Living In History, his new project, arriving August 27th via Sniper Gang/EMPIRE.

Living In History is set to be Jackboy’s second project of 2020, following his successful JACKBOY project. Released in April, Jackboy’s self-titled project was a wide-ranging effort, with production from Tay KeithKid HazelGo GrizzlyTNTxD, and many others, reflecting his expansive taste (he listens to Adele and Ed Sheeran more than he listens to any rapper). Buoyed by the single Like A Million,” featuring Jackboy’s close childhood friend and Sniper Gang associate Kodak BlackJACKBOY is the artist’s most successful album yet, propelling the rapper to the Top 300 of Rolling Stone’s Artist chart and pushing his Spotify monthly listener count past 1.1 million.

The project inspired a long list of successful video singles, including clips for “1K” (3 million YouTube views), Pack A Punch” (2.1 million views), Won’t Understand” (4.7 million views), the recent Bring The SWAT” (690k views), and breakout hit Pressure” (19 million views). Jackboy’s strict work ethic and constant video creation during the Pandemic earned the attention of The Ringer, who spotlighted the artist and DrewFilmedIt in an article about music videos during COVID-19.

    Jackboy Background

In three years of rapping, 22-year-old Jackboy has already achieved nearly 100 million YouTube views, 30 million at Soundcloud, and eight figure-streaming at Spotify. Born in Haiti and raised in Pompano Beach, Florida, the rapper beams with captivating personality and charisma. He emphasizes the important words, both in conversation and melodic rapping. Although spirited and youthful, the artist heard on “G To The A,” “Grimace,” and “Not A Clone,” appears wise beyond his years. Best friends with Kodak Black for over a decade, the Sniper Gang/EMPIRE artist released two albums, JackNDaBox and Lost In My Head, in 2019. Jackboy has plenty to say. The rapper released JACKBOY in April 2020, featuring singles like “Cleaning Crew” and “Like A Million” ft. Kodak Black.

    EMPIRE Background

Pittsburgh Art Rapper My Favorite Color Shares the Introspective “Funeral”

  • Press Release

Pittsburgh Art Rapper My Favorite Color Shares the Introspective “Funeral”

    07.10.2020

Audio: My Favorite Color – “Funeral”

The L.A.-Based Artist Contemplates His Mortality In His Spectral and Cathartic New Single

    Critical Praise:

“His music is powerful. Each bar drips with the confusion and existential dread of a man who feels out of place in his world.” – Noisey

    The Song:

My Favorite Color uses his perceptive bars to explore deep philosophical questions, filtering them through his own experiences to create artful and thoughtful rap music. On Funeral,” his latest single, the Los Angeles-based rhymer speaks frankly about his own mortality, less concerned about the state of his soul than how his death would affect his friends and family.

Rhyming in deliberate fashion atop ethereal vocal samples, heavenly synths, and gospel-adjacent piano, My Favorite Color imagines reactions of his loved ones to his death, each one grieving in their own way before eventually moving on: “Lately I’ve been thinking ’bout my funeral, and everyone who did go/Crazy how they’ve stayed strong, crazy how they’ve moved on/Crazy how a post on Instagram can keep the hope goin’/Wonder if those 500 likes helped my mom.” At the end of the song, the Rostrum Records-signed rapper lets loose with guttural screams, offering a moment of emotional catharsis.

After starting his career in a diverse Pittsburgh rap scene, My Favorite Color is ready to take the next step. Born in Van Nuys, California, the rapper moved to Pittsburgh as a teenager, living with a single mom who filled his house with the sounds of neosoul, R&B, and hip-hop. In high school, My Favorite Color started to explore rap music, starting with the classics, but eventually falling in love with the genre’s left field, particularly rappers like Earl Sweatshirt, MIKE, Isaiah Rashad, and MF DOOM.

“What makes me so different is that being different isn’t my goal,” says My Favorite Color. “Being me is my goal. All my life I’ve been considered not exactly the same as everyone. It wasn’t a goal to be different. It was a goal to be myself.”

Stay tuned for more music and more information about Velma in the coming weeks.

Shoreline Mafia Shares the Nostalgic, Behind-The-Scenes Visualizer for “Change Ya Life”

  • Press Release

Shoreline Mafia Shares the Nostalgic, Behind-The-Scenes Visualizer for “Change Ya Life”

    7.8.2020

Visualizer: Shoreline Mafia – “Change Ya Life”

The L.A. Rap Collective Share a New Visual For the Latest Mafia Bidness Single, Complete With Concert Footage and Behind-The-Scenes Moments

    Critical Praise:

“”After dropping a terrific debut album last November — a stylish bundle of songs that somehow felt nonchalant and meticulous at once — Shoreline Mafia has since become one of the most fascinating acts in a resurgent L.A.

    The Video:

Since forming in 2018, Shoreline Mafia has grown into one of the most popular acts on the West Coast, drawing droves of fans to their energetic shows. Flashing back to a happier time, before the COVID-19 pandemic put a temporary end to live music, Shoreline shares a new visualizer for Change Ya Life.” A bouncy rider’s anthem produced by Detroit native Helluva (Tee Grizzley’s “First Day Out,” Megan Thee Stallion’s “B.I.T.C.H.”), “Change Ya Life” combines fluttering synths with crisp handclaps and thunderous low-end, as OhGeesy and Fenix Flexin brag about their new Benzes and infinite bottles of Dom Perignon. The new visualizer combines raucous footage from sold-out shows with behind-the-scenes footage of the making of the new song and the upcoming Mafia Bidness. The new visualizer also pays touching tribute to Mac P Dawg, a close associate of Shoreline Mafia who tragically passed earlier this year.

Mafia Bidness hits DSPs on July 31st via Atlantic Records and is now available for pre-order.

Mafia Bidness is the culmination of a massive year for Shoreline Mafia. In late June, the crew connected with YG for “Gangstas & Sippas” (Remix), a new version of the Too $hort-sampling, Q Da Fool-featuring slapper. Earlier this year, Shoreline recruited Lil Yachty for the laid-back rider’s anthem Ride Out.” This spring, Rob Vicious shared his new mixtape Breakthrough, which featured production from Three 6 Mafia’s DJ Paul and a guest appearance from Fenix Flexin. Fenix is currently preparing to release his first solo project later this year. In February, before the COVID pandemic, Shoreline performed their first festival-headlining set at Vancouver’s Lil Fest.

Lil Gotit and Future Join Forces for “What It Was,” Now On DSPs

  • Press Release

Lil Gotit and Future Join Forces for “What It Was,” Now On DSPs

    7.10.2020

Audio: Lil Gotit – “What It Was”

The ATL Rhymers Trade Fresh Flows on Their New Single, Now Available to Stream on All DSPs

    The Song:

Lil Gotit‘s sly mutation of ATL’s trap tradition earned him the support of some of his city’s biggest emcees. Going toe-to-toe with a trap icon, Gotit officially shares What It Was,” his new Future-featuring single. Produced by D. Hill, the man behind Future’s #2 Billboard hit and Drake collaboration “Life Is Good,” “What It Was” finds both rappers celebrating their triumphant rises out of the hood. Nimbly navigating the beat’s gently syncopating hi-hats and rolling snares, “Hood Baby” and Hendrix show excellent chemistry as they trade melodic verses: I can’t change lanes, maybe that’s why my chain swing/Won’t ‘ccept shit from no lame, went and bossed up a no-name,” rhymes Gotit. Released last month as a YouTube-only audio track, “What It Was” is now available to stream on all DSPs.

“What It Was” is Gotit’s first new track since the release of Hood Baby 2, Gotit’s recent mixtape. Released in April, the mixtape boasts standout tracks like  Drip Day N Night ft. Gunna and Gotit’s brother Lil Keed and “Yeah Yeah,” featuring Keed and Future and earned praise from the likes of ComplexHYPEBEAST, and UPROXX. The 20-year-old rapper recently shared videos for tape highlights “Bricks In The Attic” and “No Kizzy.” Hood Baby 2 is Gotit’s second tape of 2020, following Superstar Creaturean 11-track collaborative project with London On Da Track, which features appearances from Polo GYoung Nudy, and Slimelife Shawty.

The Effortlessly Fly Atlanta Rapper Gives A Masterclass in Flexing For His Latest Video Single

    Critical Praise:

“After his rise to prominence through the duo Mal & Quill through the late 2010s, East Atlanta rapper Yung Mal has ventured off for some strong solo offerings, first with last year’s Iceburg and now with his latest 6 RINGS, a quick-hitting 12-track project full of rapid fire flows and strong instrumentals from producer Pyrex.” – HYPEBEAST

“Drenched in authenticity, New Orleans-born, Atlanta-bred rapper Yung Mal is looking like the next to blow out of the south.” – XXL

    The Video:

A versatile rhymer who switches up his flow for every song, Atlanta’s Yung Mal is one of his city’s most promising risers. Today, Mal shares What’s Poppin’, a carefree, flex-heavy video single. Skating atop a minimalist trap instrumental, populated by faint flutes and ringing guitar chords, Mal warns the haters and sleepers that he’s up next: “N**** just started, the sh*t I been done/Stay down, look at a storm a-comin’.” In the video, directed by Mal himself, the 24-year-old artist shows off his bands, his whip, and his jewel-studded watch as he mobs in the ATL with a crew of homies. “What’s Poppin'” is Mal’s first video since “How It Feel,” his May collaboration with frequent duo partner Lil Quill.

Big Havi Reports Live From Atlanta Protests in “Personal Problems”

    7.7.2020

Video: Big Havi – “Personal Problems” ft. Derez De’Shon

The Commission Records Labelmates Speak On Their Struggles in Havi’s First Video Since the Release of No Pen No Pad Just Pain EP

    Critical Praise:

“In a very unforgiving and fast moving musical context, Havi proves he can go toe to toe with the best of his rap contemporaries and likely stick around too.” – EARMILK

“BIG HAVI IS UP NEXT OUT OF EAST ATLANTA”FLAUNT

“Big Havi’s authenticity is helping him garner a reputation as one of Hip Hop’s most promising emerging voices” REVOLT

“The ‘9 Times Out Of 10’ rapper is poised to be Atlanta’s next star.” – ELEVATOR

“Big Havi’s got a way of latching onto the beat and making any track an earworm” – HipHopSince1987

    The Video:

Crafting confessional music with melody and powerful emotion, Big Havi is a worthy heir to the Atlanta rap tradition. Painting a picture of his city ongoing protests for civil rights, Havi shares Personal Problems,” his latest video. Featuring an appearance from Havi’s Commission Records associate Derez De’Shon, “Personal Problems” is an outlet for pain, as Havi rhymes about his sleepless nights before his rap career took off, and Derez expressively sings about finding bullet holes in his trunk. In the video, Havi proudly rocks his Atlanta Braves cap, intercutting shots of the young rapper at his hotel with footage of Havi interacting with protesters in Centennial Park. The title track from Havi’s early 2020 EP, “Personal Problems” is the rapper’s first release since No Pen No Pad Just Pain.

He remembers when his mother struggled to pay bills on “Testimony,” muses on the isolation of struggling alone on “Scars N Scratches,” and attempts to reckon with the ever-present violence in his Atlanta neighborhood in “Blood N My Eyes.”

In February, Havi shared Personal Problems, an expressive EP boasting the urban radio hit 9 Times Out Of 10.” With over 27 million total streams, more than 8 million YouTube views, and a feature from Lil Baby, “9 Times Out Of 10” reached #34 on the nationwide urban radio airplay chart. Earlier this year, Big Havi turned heads as a supporting act on tour with Lil TJay, performing songs from his Personal Problems EP. With No Pen No Pad Just Pain EP and beyond, Havi looks to continue his success, with an eye on becoming the next ATL rapper to hit it big.

You can catch Big Havi in concert opening for Lil Tjay on the “True 2 Myself Tour.”

wifisfuneral Announces Upcoming ‘PAIN?’ Project, Shares Melodic “End of Story” Single

    7.7.2020

wifisfuneral Switches Up His Style for PAIN?, His New Project, Arriving This Summer via Alamo Records

The Florida Native Examines a Passionate Relationship in New Single “End Of Story”

The First Single From From the 23-Year-Old Rapper’s Upcoming Project Showcases a Fully-Developed Sense of Melody

    The Announcement:

He made his name with tight technical rhymes, but wifisfuneral is ready to show off another side of his artistry. Preparing his first new project of 2020, wifi announces PAIN?, his upcoming project. Though previous tracks found wifi experimenting with auto-tune, including fan favorite single Run,” PAIN? proves that wifi has fully integrated melody into his cerebral songwriting. The new project finds the 23-year-old rapper crafting infectious hooks and expressing the deeply-felt emotion evoked in his lyrics.

Today, wifi shares End Of Story, the first single from the upcoming project. Displaying his singing chops atop a percussive trap instrumental, wifi takes a break from his inward examinations to celebrate a loving relationship, declaring his intentions to stay with his significant other forever: “Girl, you more than just a lover, you my bestie.”

“End Of Story” is wifi’s latest solo single of 2020, following the dark and metallic ColdAsIce, released in March (475k Spotify streams) and the Cris Dinero-produced idk. Earlier this year, he teamed up with veteran rock band Buckcherry to update their 2006 hit “Crazy B*tch,” and appeared on Beretta,” a hit single by wifi’s fellow Floridian $not (15 million Spotify streams). PAIN? is the follow-up to the Ethernet series, comprised of albums EthernetEthernet 2, and most recently EV3RYTHING SUCKS, wifi’s December 2019 EP, which featured appearances from YBN Nahmir and Ratchet Roach.

Stay tuned for PAIN?, coming this summer via Alamo Records.

Shoreline Mafia Prepares For Anticipated Debut Album Mafia Bidness, Out July 31, Shares New Song “Change Ya Life”

    7.3.2020

Shoreline Mafia Announces Mafia Bidness, Coming July 31st via Atlantic Records

L.A.’s Favorite Rap Collective Shares “Change Ya Life,” Their Latest Summer Jam

The Four-Man Crew Prepare Their Biggest Statement Yet, Welcoming An All-Star Guest List to Their Party-Positive West Coast World

    The Announcement:

One of the most popular hip-hop acts on the West Coast, Shoreline Mafia has accomplished so much since forming in 2018–sold-out tours, platinum plaques, festival headlines, and more. Putting a bow on their meteoric rise, Shoreline announces Mafia Bidness, their highly-anticipated debut album. Working with frequent collaborators and new faces, Mafia Bidness expands and refines the Shoreline sound, offering viciously clever bars atop propulsive instrumentals. Hosted by OhGeesyFenix Flexin, Rob Vicious, and Master Kato, the upcoming project fits firmly within the West Coast tradition, offering beats that reference classic hyphy, G-funk, and party rap tracks, bringing hard-hitting L.A. anthems produced by frequent collaborators RonRon and Ace The Face, and furthering the deep connection between flourishing rap scenes in Los Angeles and Detroit. Mafia Bidness hits DSPs on July 31st via Atlantic Records and is now available for pre-order.

Along with the announcement of Mafia Bidness, Shoreline Mafia introduces a new line of merch, featuring two colors of crew necks, a hoodie, a t-shirt, and a button-down emblazoned with “Shoreline” in block letters. Fans can select an item of their choice, bundled with pre-order of the Mafia Bidness album.

To accompany the announcement of the project, Shoreline Mafia shares Change Ya Life,” a glistening new single. Produced by Detroit native Helluva (Tee Grizzley’s “First Day Out,” Megan Thee Stallion’s “B.I.T.C.H.”), “Change Ya Life” combines fluttering synths with crisp handclaps and thunderous low-end, creating a compulsive head-nodder. The new song is a two-hander by OhGeesy and Fenix Flexin, as the two emcees brag about their new Benzes and infinite bottles of Dom Perignon. Though the mood is mostly celebratory, Fenix takes time to dwell on the paranoia that comes with newfound riches: “It get tricky when there’s n****s eatin’ out your pockets/It get tricky when these b*tches know you really got it.” “Change Ya Life” joins previous singles Gangstas & Sippas” and Ride Out” as instant gratis tracks, available with pre-order of the album.

Mafia Bidness is the culmination of a massive year for Shoreline Mafia. Last week, the crew connected with YG for “Gangstas & Sippas” (Remix), a new version of the Too $hort-sampling, Q Da Fool-featuring slapper. Earlier this year, Shoreline recruited Lil Yachty for the laid-back rider’s anthem Ride Out.” Last month, Rob Vicious shared his new mixtape Breakthrough, which featured production from Three 6 Mafia’s DJ Paul and a guest appearance from Fenix Flexin. Fenix is currently preparing to release his first solo project later this year. In February, before the COVID pandemic, Shoreline performed their first festival-headlining set at Vancouver’s Lil Fest.

Southern Gentleman Lil Gotit Retreats to the Country in “No Kizzy”

    7.2.2020

Video: Lil Gotit – “No Kizzy”

The Alamo Records Signee Shows Off His Red Dreads in the Georgia Countryside in the Latest Hood Baby 2 Clip

    The Video:

Carving his own path through his city’s rich rap scene, Atlanta upstart Lil Gotit is ready to take the next step. Retreating to a house in a heavily-wooded area in Southside Atlanta, Gotit shares No Kizzy,” his new video. A gently swinging trap track produced by MelodicDesert & YoungProducersMafia, “No Kizzy” provides a perfect opportunity for Gotit to talk smack in his unconventional cadences: “Hood Baby from Lil Haiti on Bleveland/Off exotic drugs, I’m Charlie Sheen/Went iced out my boy, yeah, it’s a Demon/I still rock that ice even though I’m anemic.” In the video, directed by Silver Spoon, Gotit dresses to the nines, hosting a duo of like-dressed baddies and a family of chickens in his remote cabin.

“No Kizzy” is a highlight track from Hood Baby 2Gotit’s new mixtape, released in April. The project is home to Bricks In The Attic,” Gotit’s latest video (950k views), as well as Drip Day N Night ft. Gunna and Gotit’s brother Lil Keed and “Yeah Yeah,” featuring Keed and Future.

Stay tuned for much more from the prolific 20-year-old rapper as the year moves along.

    6.26.2020

TikTok Partners With The Prince Estate to Make the Legendary Artist’s Full Catalog on the Platform

In Celebration of Black Music Month, TikTok is the First Short-Form Video App to Offer Global Access to The Purple One’s Unparalleled Discography

    The Announcement:

Dearly beloved…we are gathered here today to celebrate an icon named Prince. Throughout his groundbreaking career, he turned the world on its head with his irresistible hits, boundary-pushing charisma, and superior musicianship. Following the 36th anniversary of his landmark album Purple RainTikTok partners with The Prince Estate to bring Prince’s full catalog to TikTok, introducing his music to a new (power) generation of fans.

Today, for the first time, TikTok users around the globe can create videos soundtracked to their favorite Prince songs. Tear the dance floor up to the tune of “Controversy” and “1999,” break out your air guitar for “Let’s Go Crazy,” or get in your feelings with ballads like “Purple Rain” and “Adore.” Follow the official Prince TikTok account (@Prince.4.ever), owned and operated by the late artist’s Estate, and keep your eyes open for forthcoming videos, including archival footage of Prince performances, interviews, and excerpts from his long career as an artist and activist.

“Prince was known for breaking boundaries and TikTok has proven to do so as well. With the addition of Prince’s full catalogue on TikTok, it is our hope that a new generation of global fans can find meaning in Prince’s music, and be inspired to create” – Troy Carter, Entertainment Advisor, The Prince Estate

TikTok and The Prince Estate will offer special programming on the app over the next week. Check out TikTok’s Sounds page to delve into a new career-spanning Prince playlist, curated by the Estate and offering highlights from every epoch of the Purple One’s formidable discography. The new account will emphasize Prince’s lifelong activism and fierce devotion to societal equality.

“We are massive fans of Prince and admirers of his cultural legacy. The addition of the Artist’s catalog to our Sounds library will inspire our users to connect with his music in creative and unexpected ways–his catalog is so deep, and many are approaching his songs with fresh ears. I can’t wait to see what’s in store.” – Brandon Holman, Label Partnerships Manager at TikTok

On Monday at 12pm PT, tune into a special “Sound-Off” livestream tour of Paisley Park, Prince’s famous home and studio, located just outside of Minneapolis. Guided by Paisley Park’s legacy preservationist Mitch Maguire, the Sound-Off offers an inside look at Prince’s lifestyle and creative process to fans across the globe.

Prince once said, “Try to create. I want to tell people to create. Just start by creating your day. Then create your life.” So put on your platform shoes and your finest purple attire and fire up the new Purple Rain creative filter. Use the #Prince4ever hashtag to join the party…and GO CRAZY.

Shoreline Mafia Recruit YG For the “Gangstas & Sippas” Remix

    6.26.2020

Shoreline Mafia Remixes “Gangstas & Sippas” With a New Verse from YG

Tune In Saturday (6/27) at 8PM ET to Watch Shoreline Perform For Monster Energy’s Live On Location Series

L.A.’s Favorite Rap Collective Recruits One of the City’s Biggest Stars for a Fiery Remix

    The Remix:

Setting the West Coast ablaze with their party-positive rhymes, Shoreline Mafia has the ear of L.A.’s rap royalty. Teaming up with one of their city’s biggest stars for an action-packed remix, Shoreline shares “Gangstas & Sippas” (Remix) ft. YG. A relentless slapper inspired by a 2008 Too $hort‘s cult hit, “Gangstas & Sippas” was the first new Shoreline track of 2020, boasting standout verses from OhGeesy and Q Da Fool and an instantly memorable hook from Fenix Flexin. Energized after leading a Black Lives Matter rally on Hollywood Blvd. earlier this month, YG comes correct with his verse, bragging about his come-up and heading to Rodeo Drive with a full wallet. With over 3.2 million plays on Spotify alone on the original track, “Gangstas & Sippas” (Remix) follows Ride Out,” a recent Shoreline Mafia single with a guest spot from Lil Yachty.

This SaturdayJune 27th, Shoreline Mafia will perform as part of Monster Energy’s Live On Location series of livestreams. Tune in at 8pm ET/5pm PT on Monster’s official YouTube to watch members of Shoreline Mafia perform live for the first time since the lockdown started.

The “Gangstas & Sippas” (Remix) is the latest release in the lead-up to Mafia Bidness, the collective’s forthcoming debut album. Earlier this week, Shoreline invited eager fans to create their own cover art for the upcoming album, highlighting some of the best examples on their Instagram. Last month, Rob Vicious shared his new mixtape Breakthrough, which featured production from Three 6 Mafia’s DJ Paul and a guest appearance from Fenix Flexin. Fenix is currently preparing to release his first solo project later this year.

Shoreline Mafia’s Monster Energy “Live On Location” episode airs Saturday, June 27th at 8pm ET / 5pm PT at youtube.com/monsterenergy, with a replay at 11pm ET / 8pm PT that same evening.

Please contact Michelle or Kerry for more info.

Young Dolph Celebrates What He’s Earned with New Vid, “Blue Diamonds” 💎

    6.26.2020

Video: Young Dolph – “Blue Diamonds”

The Role Model Takes a Victory Lap Through Memphis In His Latest Video

    The Video:

“You know I’m forever pop it how I wanna pop it. However I want it. Whenever I want it.” What Young Dolph wants, he gets. Through his storytelling, Dolph has repeatedly shared with us that against the odds, he learned and earned his way to the top where he can do whatever he damn well pleases. Dolph’s core values of embracing loyalty, being real, taking care of his family – blood and extended, celebrating wins, and simultaneously loving the extravagant as much as the simple pleasures of life, are all evident in his new video, “Blue Diamonds.”

“Blue Diamonds” is the latest in a series of fiery singles from the Paper Route EMPIRE CEO, following the critically acclaimed and topical “Sunshine” (“Young Dolph Is Leading Rap Through the Pandemic” – GQ), and “RNB,” his Juicy J-produced collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion. Earlier this month, Billboard named Dolph and his business partner DaddyO to their list of Indie Power Players for 2020.

Stay tuned for much more from Young Dolph, coming soon.
