The Rapidly Rising Memphis Rapper Is Unstoppable In The New Video Highlight From Y.N.S.

Never holding back in his music or life, Quezz Ruthless has rightfully earned his “wild child” title. Today, the Memphis riser shares the video for “N.W.A.,” a highlight track from his recent mixtape Y.N.S. “N.W.A.” finds Quezz channeling the energy of the influential rap group the track is named after, issuing a warning to the opps and flexing his flashy new purchases: “I got the racks in my denim / They can’t even feed me to go up a size or two / I know these n****s don’t like me / I say what I want, I’m a n***a with attitude.” In the video, directed by TCP, Quezz rides around town with his crew, feeling unstoppable when he’s dripped out in designer and counting his stacks of cash.

“N.W.A.” is a highlight track from Quezz Ruthless’ recent mixtape, Y.N.S and follows up the video for “Jackpot” and “N**** Show Us.” The Grim Reaper Gang rapper’s bars reflect his “Ruthless” artist name, showing no remorse for anyone who might cause an obstacle to his inevitable rise. Short for Yung N**** Sh*t, the tape was created in honor of Quezz Ruthless’s brother and biggest inspiration: the late Big Scarr. Y.N.S. hosts “Big Scarr Flow Part 2,” in which Quezz channels the style of his older brother to get off some of his toughest bars to date: “How you a ape but you scared of Gorillas/I walk around with your stash in my denims/B*tch, I’m the big dog, I’m king of the kennel,” he spits. The tape’s final track, “Ain’t Stoppin‘,” produced by GRAMMY-nominated production duo The Trillionaires, features a posthumous verse from Scarr himself, as Quezz resolves to never stop paying tribute to his brother’s memory.

Quezz Ruthless is one of the most exciting young rappers in the bustling Memphis rap scene. He first gained notoriety with his guest spot on Big Scarr’s “MJ,” which has over 85 million global streams. Quezz built a cult following in Memphis with his 2023 mixtape, Wild Child, which has over 10 million streams. The rapper’s catalog generates over 200k on-demand streams per week across platforms.

Toboggan 2024: Three Days of Festivities

At 5 PM, Montreal-based DJ Cece the Red will kick off the festivities with her groovy sounds. Rising star Laure takes over at 6 PM with mesmerizing melodies and deep house. Latin American duo Le Twins follow at 7 PM with their explosive electro-pop, while British DJ and producer Jonas Blue headlines at 8:30 PM with global hits like “Fast Car” and “Perfect Strangers.”

December 30
DJ Mika opens at 5 PM with a dynamic set blending afro, Latin, house, disco, and hip-hop rhythms. Next, MR. SAUGA, a promising artist who merges Indigenous traditions with modern beats, takes the stage at 6 PM. Haviah Mighty, the first female artist to win the Juno for Rap Album of the Year (2022), follows at 7 PM, leading up to Canadian rapper and viral sensation bbno$, who closes out the night at 8:30 PM.

December 31
The evening starts at 9 PM with American DJ FREAK ON and his tech house enhanced by catchy vocal hooks. At 10 PM, Seattle’s Surf Mesa, known for the global hit “ily (i love you baby),” spins his electro-chill melodies. Finally, at 11:30 PM, Belgian DJ MATTN, a prominent name in the EDM scene, delivers an explosive set, perfect for ringing in the new year.

On December 31, Place de l’Assemblée-Nationale will feature traditional Quebec music. Don’t miss the chance to welcome 2025 in true local style. BoBo OnO kicks off the evening at 7:30 PM with pop-rock featuring funk and psychedelic vibes, followed by Gaspésie-based trad group Quimorucru at 8:25 PM. At 9:30 PM, popular band Kaïn takes the stage, delighting fans, with legendary group La Bottine Souriante closing out the night from 11PM until 12:30 AM.

Already having achieved great success at just 17 years old, JayDon has proven he knows what it takes to be a star. Sueños 2025 promises its return to Grant Park will be better than ever with improved features, such as expanded grounds, a second stage, a new box office and entrance, additional wayfinding and guest services staff, and much more.

In addition to these exciting changes, Sueños announced today that Peso Pluma will return to headline Sueños 2025. After having his 2024 headlining set canceled due to inclement weather, the global star is back on the bill to fulfill his promise to festival-goers. Earlier this year, the award-winning Mexican Regional singer released his acclaimed album Éxodo and worked on several collaborations with Tito Double P, Gabito Ballesteros, Myke Towers, JHAYCO, and more. Additional performing artists will be announced soon.

Along with the announcement of Peso’s headlining performance, Sueños has announced new and improved festival components, promising fans an unforgettable experience. With more space, more amenities, and more música, Sueños 2025 promises to increase the energy tenfold. This year, Sueños has thoughtfully reimagined the amenities and experiences at the Grant Park grounds for guests to enjoy the weekend to the fullest. Some of those changes include:

• • For the first time, the festival has announced they will be expanding the festival grounds, which will include a brand new second stage and dance zone equipped for additional performances, DJ sets, and perreo along with more food vendors, bars, seating, and shade.   • New Box Office Hours + New Entrance Flow: 
    Box offices will now open the day before the festival to lessen wait times on festival days.
    VIP & GA+ will have separate entrances to reduce wait times. All entrances will have more lanes and Way-Finding staff to help fans smoothly and quickly navigate entry to the park.
  • The Sueños team is growing; this year there will be more Way-finding Staff, Security, and Guest Service team members to help attendees with information and resources when they need it.

In other exciting news, Sueños Music Festival is proud to call Chicago home through 2029. C3 Presents and La Familia Presenta secured a new 5-year deal with the City of Chicago and the Chicago Park District, which will allow the Sueños team to continue bringing music lovers together in one of the nation’s most vibrant cities. The festival’s commitment to Chicago doesn’t stop when the festival ends; according to a study reported in Crain’s Chicago Business, “The third annual Sueños Music Festival delivered $243.7 million this year into Chicago’s economy, which is up from $181.6 million estimated last year. The festival contributed $2 million to the city and county’s amusement tax revenue, according to another study commissioned by the organizer.” Sueños attendance has also increased in recent years “from 80,000 attendees over the two-day festival to 130,000 after selling out in 2024,” one study said. “This growth is directly attributed to the festival’s popularity and engagement across the world.”

Never holding back when it comes to his music, Finesse2Tymes speaks what’s on his mind. Today, he teams up wit

h his hometown’s own NLE Choppa for the “Very Demure” video. A play on recent social media trends and the remix to last month’s “Demure,” the track finds Finesse and NLE Choppa unleashing their most out-of-pocket thoughts, proving why they could never be very demure: “Flew her first class for some of that a** / She brought a friend for my mans / I hit that b*tch like I’m fresh out the can / She pulled up with her man / I don’t give a f*ck ’bout your man,” spits Finesse. NLE follows up Finesse’s NSFW lyrics with risqué bars of his own: “And she down bad, I could pipe her up / Grabbin’ your hair, get your face out the mattress.”

In the “Very Demure” video, directed by VisionBank, Finesse and NLE Choppa post up in front of a yellow Lamborghini, dripped out in diamonds and designer from head to toe. The Memphis rappers trade NSFW bars, while NLE comes in blazing with a verse of his own and shows off his dance moves.

“Very Demure” arrives ahead of Finesse2Tymes’ upcoming project Art of War, out 11/22. The project arrives amidst a strong year for Finesse, complete with popular singles like “Down Bad” and “Show Dat Work” ft. GloRilla & Rob49. Art of War promises to build upon this momentum and position Finesse for even more rap success in 2025.

Born and raised on the East Side of Memphis, most of Finesse’s young adulthood was surrounded by the walls of a prison cell. His first prison stint happened at 14 and he was in and out of prison until his most recent release. At 21, he started formally making music, forming a collective called Memphis Greatest Underrated with several local artists including Blac Youngsta and Moneybagg Yo. The crew released a self-titled EP in 2019 while Finesse was serving his final stint in prison as the group disbanded. While away, Finesse perfected his craft, writing rhymes and plotting his next moves to ensure this prison sentence will be his last. He found a way to keep track of the major players in the industry who followed his music. Among them was Mob Ties Founder and CEO J Prince Jr., son of legendary Rap-A-Lot kingpin J. Prince, who later signed him. At the top of July 2022, Finesse left prison and boarded a private jet bound for Houston. The start of his new life had finally begun.

He dropped the menacing “Get Even” within the first week of his release later chasing it with “Back End,” showcasing a more sophisticated style that still harbored his gruff delivery. The single later went on to earn him his first career entry on the Billboard Hot 100 and first RIAA-certified gold record. He even mended fences with Moneybagg Yo, surprising fans everywhere with their collaborative “Black Visa” track and informally inaugurating his signing with Bagg’s Breadgang. Finesse released his debut mixtape 90 Days in December 2022 representing his pivotal first 90 days post prison release. He later returned with the deluxe, 90 Days Later.

The Bay Area’s Best Kept Secret Puts His Talents On Full Display On Vulnerable New EP

The EP:

A powerful lyricist and master of heartfelt melodies, Yatta Bandz best expresses his emotions through his music. Today, the Hayward, CA native paints a picture of life as a rising rap star on his new EP, Acrylic.

The eight-track project expands on the deeply personal narratives Yatta has shared in the past, diving into topics like heartbreak, the importance of love, self-growth, and more. He sets the tone for the project on opening track “All I Ask,” a deeply personal track that finds Yatta begging his girl to make up her mind and stop playing games. He continues to fine-tune his art on the glistening “I Will,” where Yatta promises to treat his girl better than the rest. Despite his past confidence, the Bay Area star gets introspective on “Bad Guy,” recognizing his demons and the mistakes he’s made in the past: “Know that I ain’t perfect, but my loyalty is so legit / I’ve been tryna change the way that I live / I just kept it real, that’s all that I did.” As the project comes to a close, Yatta slows things down, showing off his vocal chops over harmonious strings on “Thank You.” On closing track “A L O N E,” Yatta is at his most vulnerable, letting go of the pain and hurt: “I been A L O N E, dear please G.O.D. / Can you talk to me, had it hard but thankful for them lessons that you taught to me / At war with all my demons, you the only one that fought for me.”

Yatta shared his inspiration behind the EP and the project’s title: “The reasoning behind me choosing Acrylic for my EP is because music is a form of art, and acrylics play a big role in not only painting but many things that are created in the art world physically. My form of art with music can’t be seen, but can be heard and still have an impact on someone’s heart as much as physical art can. Acrylics are one of the most versatile substances and I want my music to be the same way, making you feel love, pain, joy, and sadness.”

The road to Acrylic began earlier this Fall with previously-released EP singles “My Mistake” ft. Lil Bean and “Work of Art.” Born in Hayward, an East Bay city south of Oakland and north of Fremont, Yatta Bandz has quietly become one of the most popular rappers to emerge from the Bay Area this decade. The Background:

DaeMoney is one of the most promising artists in a bustling Michigan rap scene. As a member of World Tour Mafia, along with associates Scoob, Milt, Money Miles, and Solid, Dae put an insular spin on the Detroit sound, keeping the hard-hitting drums and slick punchlines, while adding a narcotic flow and incorporating dark sonics to better suit a head-nodding headphones experience. After emerging in the rap scene in 2020 with the first Slae Season tape, produced in full by Detroit sound architect Top$ide, Dae reconnected with his father, and through him, met Babyface Ray, who Dae was surprised to find was his blood uncle. The Announcement:

“Big Hoe Me,” is the latest and final single we can expect from Maxo Kream ahead of the release of his new album Personification. In it, the Texan rapper takes listeners back to when he was 14 years old hustling in the streets under the wing of an older mentor. In the track, the rapper wades through a groovy and intense beat as he recounts discovering his father’s arrest, a near-death experience, and realizing that his mentor wasn’t as tough as he thought. Maxo tells it like it is with lyrics like, “Big hoe me had me doing sh*t he ain’t ever done before / but little did I know my big hoe me was a ho.”

Maxo Kream’s surgical storytelling skills allow the listener to step foot into each verse and join him in unraveling the events that progress throughout the project. Taking a look inward and tracking his evolution from street firebrand to acclaimed lyricist to respected entrepreneur, Personification, drops on November 15th, on all digital platforms and on vinyl, via his own label, Stomp Down. The upcoming album is currently available for pre-save HERE.

His first album since 2021’s Weight of the World, and its 2022 Deluxe Edition, Personification looks back on Maxo’s life and career through the guise of three personas. The first is Trigga Maxo, the blue headband-wearing citizen of the streets that stormed into the rap game with songs like “Cell Boomin” and projects like #MAXO187, melding traditional Houston rap with underground sounds and raw lyricism. Trigga Maxo gives way to Punken–a persona Maxo crafted on the album of the same title, named after his childhood nickname–reflecting Maxo’s elevated narratives and refined fashion sense, as songs like “Grannies” and albums like Brandon Banks established the Houston native as one of the finest storytellers in the rap game. The final persona is Emekwanem, Maxo’s birth name, which retains elements of Punken and Trigga Maxo, but subsumes them into a more mature package. Emekwanem is a business owner and family man, focused on building a lasting legacy and living a cleaner lifestyle. Fans saw glimpses of Emekwanem on songs like “No Then You A Hoe,” a single that pays tribute to Maxo’s father, who passed away earlier this year.

Maxo’s three personas intersect in unexpected ways throughout the album, which features guest appearances from heavy-hitting names in hip-hop. Personification features singles like “Cracc Era,” which features a guest spot and production from Tyler, The Creator. Earlier this year, Maxo teamed with Surf Gang producer Evilgiane for the spritely “Eye Know” and the ethereal “Bang The Bus,”  earning acclaim from Stereogum, Rap Radar, Hits DD, and more. He teamed up with fellow Texan That Mexican OT for “Talkin In Screw,” a syrupy tribute to DJ Screw and the South Texas rap scene. Rapidly rising in the Detroit scene and beyond, DaeMoney has unlimited potential for rap stardom. Armed with co-signs from the likes of Babyface Ray, Veeze, and LUCKI, the World Tour Mafia rapper shares The Godson, his second project of the year. Following up the candy-colored Rockstar Lifestyle 2 mixtape, DaeMoney returns to his mafioso roots with The Godson, bringing street lessons and pop culture punchlines in equal measure.

Across the 15-track project, DaeMoney layers his signature mix of hard-hitting Michigan drums and opulent synths and infuses each track with an experimental array of sonics ranging from laid-back 90’s Californian rap throwbacks, dark and distorted keys, and sentimental acoustics. He sets the tone for the project with title track and opener “THE GODSON,” reminding listeners he always knew he’d make it to the top over stripped-down guitar strums: “I tell these n****s in 2022 that the boy comin’ / Everything I walk, I talk, I do, this sh*t be boss numbers.” Dae takes the energy up a level on “SPONGEBOB & PATRICK,” showing off his talent for wordplay over speaker-bursting Michigan drums. He also teams up with fellow Detroit native Peezy on “ALL MY SONS,” a boastful Midwest banger: “Might drown if you ain’t surfin’, don’t get caught up in the wave / She might faint, she see the game, better tell your h*e behave,” raps Peezy.

As the project comes to a close, the World Tour Mafia rapper likes himself to a rockstar on “KURT COBAIN,” spitting about his big-spender habits: “I ain’t no rapper I’m a great, that’s my occupation / I can show you how to win if you pay attention / I’m in Vegas at the Wynn, 20k in 50s.” By the project’s end, DaeMoney firmly asserts his status as Detroit’s chosen one on the fast-paced “SUPERSTAR.” The new tape is also home to recent singles “SNOTBALL,” featuring BabyTron, “F*CK SLAE” and “King of the Hill.” With additional features from Peezy, and GRS Rally, The Godson is available everywhere via EMPIRE.

Earlier this week, DaeMoney shared the video for “VICE CITY,” a project highlight that finds the young rapper taking a step back to reflect on the road to success. In the video, Dae delivers slick Detroit bars that collide with the pulse of a smooth Miami nights beat, bringing a groovy early 90s vibe to life while he cruises around the city in a luxury car.

The Godson follows-up Rockstar Lifestyle 2, a mixtape released earlier this year which earned positive notices from The FADER. In contrast to the darker hued Slae Season tapes, Rockstar Lifestyle 2 is more celebratory and aspirational, with brighter beats and a wider complement of guests. The Background:

DaeMoney is one of the most promising artists in a bustling Michigan rap scene. As a member of World Tour Mafia, along with associates Scoob, Milt, Money Miles, and Solid, Dae put an insular spin on the Detroit sound, keeping the hard-hitting drums and slick punchlines, while adding a narcotic flow and incorporating dark sonics to better suit a head-nodding headphones experience. After emerging in the rap scene in 2020 with the first Slae Season tape, produced in full by Detroit sound architect Top$ide, Dae reconnected with his father, and through him, met Babyface Ray, who Dae was surprised to find was his blood uncle. Last night, the 29-year-old artist kicked off “A Lil Tour,” his nationwide headlining tour at The Midway in San Francsico, CA. With over two decades of tenure in the rap game, Lupe Fiasco is a savvy veteran of hip-hop, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t take the time to hone and perfect his craft at every turn. Today, the Chicago MC shares the video for “Palaces” (Remix), a highlight track from his recent album Samurai. The track is arguably the most emotive and personal on the project, finding Lupe using metaphors to relay lessons he’s learned over the years over sentimental percussions and keys: “I should’ve put it towards some plans / Want a forest, gotta water some plants, huh / Normally, ignoring the branch / Is par for the course, but when you hold a culture, you can’t.” In the “Palaces” video, directed by Chris & Blaq, Lupe shares his wisdom from a rocky beachfront. “Palaces” appears on Lupe Fiasco’s latest album Samurai, a smooth, yet cerebral, 8-track album brimming with ideas, that radiates Lupe’s pure love for the art of emceeing and committing himself as a servant of the rap game. The project is Lupe’s ninth studio album and is produced in full by Soundtrakk, making it their second full album collaboration following 2022’s DRILL MUSIC IN ZION, and the first album that Lupe and Soundtrakk worked on with their longtime manager, and 1st & 15th co-CEO Charles “Chill” Patton, since 2007’s The Cool. Samurai is Lupe’s first new album since 2022’s DRILL MUSIC IN ZION, which earned critical acclaim from NPR, Complex, The FADER, and many others, including Vinyl Me Please, who wrote “At their best, Lupe’s bars are as visually and phonetically pleasing as popped bubble wrap.” The product of a burst of thoughtful spontaneity, Lupe created DRILL MUSIC IN ZION over a short period, diving into a folder of beats sent by Soundtrakk and emerging with a fully-realized album in just three days. The third annual Sueños was a thrilling communal experience, uniting the diverse corners of Chicago’s Latin community and bringing in fans from across the country to watch some of the world’s most popular artists give it their all in front of the 60,000 capacity crowd. Saturday brought heavy hitters like Rauw Alejandro and Young Miko, and a coterie of rising artists, including regional Mexican heavyweight Ivan Cornejo, “La Diabla” hitmaker Xavi, and genre-bending Mexican trio Latin Mafia. Though Sunday brought unfortunate weather, the festival still presented some incredible acts, including Maluma, veteran Reggaeton duo Jowell Y Randy, and the lovely Bad Gyal. 

Expertly edited by the Sueños team, and featuring music by festival performers like Rauw Alejandro, Young Miko, Xavi, Mora, and many more, the aftermovie chronicles each festival day from start to finish, beginning with trips to the park via the El or the Ferry, and ending with heart-pumping performances under stage and city lights. The movie gives special attention to many of the festival’s most memorable moments, including Rauw’s heavily-choreographed headlining set on Saturday. As a member of World Tour Mafia, along with associates Scoob, Milt, Money Miles, and Solid, Dae put an insular spin on the Detroit sound, keeping the hard-hitting drums and slick punchlines, while adding a narcotic flow and incorporating dark sonics to better suit a head-nodding headphones experience. After emerging in the rap scene in 2020 with the first Slae Season tape, produced in full by Detroit sound architect Top$ide, Dae reconnected with his father, and through him, met Babyface Ray, who Dae was surprised to find was his blood uncle. The Song

Putting their own unique spin on the sounds of the 90s rock heroes who inspired them, San Diego’s Tigers In Cairo are steadily rising in their city’s music scene and beyond. Today, they keep up the momentum from their debut last month with “Wavy Eyes,” a new single. The track finds lead vocalist David Martin embracing humility, looking back on past mistakes with a newfound sense of clarity: “I should have known / Wish I’d left you home / I should have shown up.” The band’s intricate guitar leads and thrashing drums provide a powerful sonic backdrop for the emotionally-charged lyrics, with guitarist Gavin Rhodes closing out the single with a dynamic guitar solo.

David explains the meaning behind the track: “Writing about true embarrassment and humility is difficult and humbling. This is the gist of what “Wavy Eyes” is about. [Previous to Tigers] I was feeling too comfortable with a live performance. Feeling too comfortable was my downfall by allowing myself too many drinks and I ruined what was supposed to be a great opportunity and experience. It’s still difficult to talk about and I still feel embarrassed, and singing this song is to keep it top of mind to keep myself in check.” 

“Wavy Eyes” follows up last month’s “Always Adored,” Tigers In Cairo’s first single as a group.The band, composed of drummer Matt Yansch, vocalist David Martin, bassist Dennis Smith, and guitarists Gavin Rhodes and Paul Skura, is based in San Diego, California. Formed as a result of Rhodes’ New Years resolution to start a band in his new hometown, the group came together via a Craigslist ad and local networking. Taking shape one puzzle piece at a time, Tigers In Cairo eventually solidified their lineup and band name. Inspired by the Cure’s “Fire In Cairo” and aspiring to embody the ferocity of an apex predator, the band began recording music. Combining Yansch’s sharp sense of arrangement, with Martin’s lyrics, and Rhodes’ and Smith’s riffs and progressions, Tigers In Cairo have landed on a unique sound that they are continuing to refine.

Forgive Me I’m Still Trappin is the latest step in Trigga500k’s rise to the top of Florida’s rap game. Although he’s just 20 years old, Lord Sko is bringing back the golden age of hip-hop, putting a modern spin on the stoner classics that raised him. Today, the Washington Heights native shares, “Stubborn,” his new single and music video.

Tapping his right-hand man Arlo Walker for the production, Sko shows off his lyrical prowess, spitting about having wisdom beyond his years and living life without worries: “Kinetic energy surrounding my name / Rookie movin’ like he barely been around in the game / I spend the last five days smokin’ powder and haze / Homies callin’, tryna get me out of this place, but I’m stubborn.” While sonically the track is a nostalgic anthem, the music video, directed by Jason Goldwatch (Jay-Z, Kid Cudi, Blink-182), is a futuristic trip, finding Sko blurring the lines of reality and inverting NYC through mind-bending visual effects.

“Stubborn” follows up “Lesson Learned,” the Statik Selektah-produced single that earned praise from Billboard, iHeartRadio and more. The singles presage Sko’s next album, PIFF, coming early next year. The anticipated follow-up to his acclaimed 2023 album United Palace is an expansion of the young rapper’s sound, with a sonic palette crafted by luminaries like Harry Fraud, Statik Selektah, A-Lau, and Arlo Walker, the 18-year-old production prodigy who has been Sko’s right-hand man since his 2022 debut, MUSEUM. Lord Sko, aka Josh Fersko, is a native of Manhattan’s Washington Heights. Already a veteran at just 20 years old, having dropped 2 full-length projects, the prodigious lyrical talent continues to sharpen his sword on the upcoming PIFF, a sure-shot stoner classic. The upcoming album finds the young rapper expanding his classic NYC sound, with help from producers like Statik Selektah, Harry Fraud, A Lau, and his right-hand man Arlo Walker.

Young Sko fell in love with rap music when he was still in middle school. Back then, hip-hop was in the fondly- remembered blog era. Sko (who refers to himself as “the rap Jeff Hardy”) felt himself drawn to the stoner side of blog rap, including Wiz Khalifa, Odd Future, Action Bronson, and Curren$y, who would later become a collaborator. After practicing his craft for two years, Sko decided at age 17 to share his skill with the world, teaming up with then-16-year-old Arlo Walker to create the 2022 album Museum. In 2023, Sko followed up that auspicious debut with the even-more- polished United Palace, named after the historic concert hall located in his uptown neighborhood.
