Single: Z Money – “Millions” ft. Gucci Mane & Hoodrich Pablo Juan (Prod. by Izze The Producer)
Two 1017 Eskimo Signees Team Up With Their Mentor to Wish Him a Happy Birthday Over Arpeggiating Keys and Snapping Trap Drums
2.12.2019
Critical Praise:
“Z’s appeal is all about swagger, a subtle brand of cocky humor, and a delicate musical touch. Which isn’t to say that it’s an empty exercise in style—although he has style in spades. There’s an unusual quality at the heart of the Z Money project that’s elusive to define, but could be called, simply, ‘art.'” – Complex
“As one of the promising new faces to come out of Chicago, Z Money is ready to go full speed ahead.” – XXL
“Even though the 25-year-old has work from as early as 2014, setbacks such as his legal troubles and incarceration had put his career on hold until now and, if it wasn’t already obvious, Z Money SZN is upon us.” – Lyrical Lemonade
The Song:
With his soft-spoken delivery and mastery of lockstep cadences, it’s no wonder that Z Money found an influential fan in Gucci Mane. Counting cash and setting up a self-perpetuating money machine, the 1017 Eskimo signee teams up with label boss Gucci for “Millions,” his new single. Released on Gucci’s birthday (BURR-day), “Millions” finds the two rappers and fellow 1017 rapper Hoodrich Pablo Juanstringing together eighth notes to create magic, bouncing bars off each other, trying to see who can stunt the hardest: “These nobody ass n****s ain’t got a pot to piss in/I’m whippin’ in the kitchen trying to check in on the millions/One trappy ass n***a, I just bought another building,” rhymes Z Money. Produced by Izze The Producer and premiered by HYPEBEAST, “Millions” is an extravagant slice of no-nonsense trap and a fitting b-day gift for the CEO who has everything.
Explains Z Money, “Guwop asked the Eskimos to come down to Miami. We shutdown Hit Factory Studios for a night and were going between rooms with me, Gucci, Pablo, Mal & Quill. ‘Millions’ was the vibe once the beat played. We went straight in! Man, I can’t say Guwop has not influenced me! Every day, he inspires me to become a better man and artist. Happy PAID Day Vato, and many more! 1017 til the world blow!! NNYYEEEEEAAHHHH!”
The follow-up to the critically acclaimed 10-tracker ZTM, Z Money’s 2018 effort Chiraq Mogul is more substantial, comprised of 16 intense tracks, each marked by Z Money’s oft-imitated cadences and canny punchlines about the hustle. The mixtape hosts tracks such as “Bon Appetit,” which features G Herboand Key Glock and garnered over 3.9 million views on YouTube, the haunting and absorbing “Bitcoin” (415k views), and “Durag,” also featuring Key Glock, which has 584k views. Featuring an additional appearance from 03 Greedo, Chiraq Mogul, released via 1017 Eskimo/Alamo, continues Z Money’s rise from the ashes as he follows his mentorGucci Maneon the path from underground success to mainstream figure. In late 2018, Z Money remixed two album highlights –the 808 Mafia-produced “Givenchy” with a new verse from Ohgeesy, a member of rising L.A. crew ShorelineMafia, and Chiraq Mogul opening track “Apart Of Trappin,” which added game from Banhunta Izzy. Most recently, Z Money re-teamed with Valee, who he collaborated with for the breakout “Two ’16s,” sharing the menacing video for “Still Got Money.”

The Background:
First coming to the forefront during the Chicago rap boom of 2012, Z Money stood out from the pack for his creative cadences, his malleable, high-pitched flow, which drew comparisons to Z Money’s idol Gucci Mane, and his rejection of the conventions of the drill music that dominated the city in that era. Releasing a series of popular mixtapes packed with street witticisms and raw honesty, Z Money gained cult hero status in Chicago for songs like “Regular” and “Want My Money,” which Chance The Rapper used in his original trailer for his 2013 breakout mixtape Acid Rap. In 2014, Z Money’s meteoric rise came to an abrupt halt when he was forced to spend nearly the whole year in prison for a probation violation. After his release, Z Money rededicated himself to his craft, moving away from his Chicago-based problems and temptations to the rap mecca of Atlanta. In ATL, Z Money caught the ear of a recently free Gucci Mane, who signed him to his fledgling 1017 Eskimo label. Since the signing, Z Money gotten his career back on the road to stardom with ZTM and Chiraq Mogul.
