The Video:
Living with the knowledge that any day could be his last, Yungeen Ace flexes with a purpose. Showing off his playful side in a light-hearted new video, the Cinematic Music Group signee shares “Brand New.” A woozy Southern trapper with production from Kyle Junior, “Brand New” finds Ace and his guest star Stunna4Vegas running through their latest purchases, each one more extravagant than the last: “I just bought me a brand new whip (Skrrt-skrrt)/Just copped me some brand new chains (Brand new chains)/Brand new Rollie on my wrist (Brand new Rollie on my wrist)/Just copped me four new rings (Four new rings).” In the video, Ace and Stunna work a day job as valets, goofing off on the job before dropping the charade and taking rides in a luxury vehicle and a military chopper. Complete with comedic vignettes about a hapless duo of drug dealers, the Jeffrey “J-Squared” Jackson-directed video is the latest from Step Harder, Ace’s new project.
With a soaring drawl that can find the melodic heart of any instrumental, Ace unites all aspects of his persona on Step Harder, reconciling the troubled teenager of “Freestyle“ (6.2 million YouTube views) with the ice-cold soldier evident in songs like “Top Killa,“ and the devoted partner he plays in romantic ballads like “I’m In Love.” The upcoming full-length boasts the buzzing single “Bad Bitch” (Remix), which features an appearance from Blac Youngsta, the video single “Bando,” which earned a cover feature and top placement on YouTube’s Clout Rising playlist, and the emotional title track, which earned over 5 million views in just two weeks on its action-packed music video. The 21-year-old rapper offered a behind-the-scenes look at his turbulent life and career in the Through The Pain documentary, directed by Adam Ben of Cinematic TV. Featuring additional appearances from Lil Durk, Boosie, Dej Loaf, and NoCap, Step Harder is available to purchase and stream on all platforms via Cinematic Music Group.

The Background:
Yungeen Ace has built his massive following by standing alone. At 21, the artist born Keyanta Bullard describes his city of Jacksonville as “a jungle.” Originally a Chicagoan, he moved to Duval County, Florida as a child with no friends. Despite 11 brothers, Ace learned fast that if he wanted to survive, he could only rely on himself. “It’s hard out here. Everything we do, we gotta fight for it. We’ve got to go above and beyond just to make it. The surroundings are crazy. It’s a creep city. Nobody is for you out here, so you have to be really for yourself.” In June of this year, Ace was the lone survivor when a car he was riding in was ambushed by a drive-by shooting on Town Center Parkway. Three friends died. Just freed after a bid, the moment was a painful and chilling reminder of the violence epidemic for Ace. It was a dark spot in an otherwise upbeat time. In 2018, the rapper recently signed with Cinematic Music Group, a label responsible for propelling key new musical voices into the mainstream.
