Organizing his flexes into tumbling triplet flows, Yung Mal worked hard to reach his elevated status in the ATL rap scene. Coming through with a head of steam, the artist shares “Get Right,” his flex-heavy new single. Produced by Gudda Tay, a producer affiliated with Mal’s 1.5 Da Label, “Get Right” layers dramatic electric guitars over trap drums. Mal takes advantage of the backing track and struts like a rock star, telling his haters that they need to get their money right before speaking to him. “Get Right” is Mal’s first song since the release of 1.5 Way Or No Way, Mal’s recent mixtape.

Named after the neighborhood in which he grew up, and for a phrase that was a favorite of his late homie Plug, 1.5 Way Or No Way is a mature and versatile effort. Mal’s rhymes are more polished and precise, reflecting the perspective of a father of a young son and daughter and a neighborhood leader who bears the hopes and dreams of his friends on his back.
