Charting his own path to stardom, Young Dolph is ready to grow his Paper Route EMPIRE to new heights in 2021. Kicking off a busy year for the industry titan, Dolph shares Rich Slave (Deluxe), expanding his acclaimed 2020 album. The deluxe edition offers eight new tracks, bringing the blend of outlandish flexes, confident punchlines, and words of wisdom for which Dolph is known. Though Dolph offers a snapshot of his extravagant life, he never forgets where he came from–the 8 new tracks emphasize Dolph’s connection to his hometown of Memphis, featuring guest spots from Dolph’s Paper Route EMPIRE signees Key Glock and Kenny Muney, boasting production from PRE producer Bandplay, and packing in references to local food spots and neighborhood haunts. Along with Rich Slave (Deluxe), Dolph shares the music video for “To Be Honest,” an album highlight. Produced by Juicy J, “To Be Honest” is a masterpiece of unapologetic flexing, as Dolph ignores his naysayers and focuses on his bankroll: “I’m nothin’ like the rest, so what the f*ck did you expect?/To be honest, I don’t care ’bout your opinion, where the check?” In the video, Dolph pops bottles in a mansion with a bevy of baddies, before heading to a private movie theater to watch football tape with NFL hall of famer Deion Sanders (who gets a shoutout in the lyrics) and to play catch with Deion’s son Shadeur Sanders, a major QB prospect.

Released in August 2020, Rich Slave explores Dolph’s rags to riches story, while taking time to reflect on the glass ceiling on the upward mobility of Black people; no amount of money allows you to escape racism as a Black person in this country. The album is home singles like the West Coast tribute “Death Row,“ the conversational “Blue Diamonds,“ and the Megan Thee Stallion-featuring riders’ anthem “RNB,” which reached the top ten of Billboard’s Hip-Hop/R&B airplay chart. Rich Slave also features Dolph’s most political statement to date–the searing “The Land,” in which Dolph recounts a run-in with racist police and calls out America for its history of systemic racism. Rich Slave peaked at #4 on the Billboard 200 and hit #1 on Billboard’s Independent Albums chart, selling over 65k units and generating over 44 million on-demand streams in its first week. The album features additional guest appearances from G Herbo and Dolph’s frequent collaborator and Paper Route EMPIRE rising star Key Glock.
