Young Dolph may have finally found the girl of his dreams. In the C-Note-produced song “Foreva” from his recently released project Rick Crack Baby, the self-proclaimed King of Memphis recruits T.I. to open up about their feelings towards their special someone while still keeping it real. The two rappers turn a motel room into a pop-up trap house and pledge their loyalty to the women who hold them down.

Riding a year-long hot streak, Dolph has become one of the most popular and prolific independent rappers in the game today. “Foreva” follows up “What yo Life Like” ft. 2 Chainz; the fifth video released from Young Dolph’s latest mixtape, Rich Crack Baby, coming after the black-and-white video for “If,” the strip club-set “Trappa,” which has over a million views on YouTube, and the David Lynch-meets-the trap clip for the title track (over 1 million views). With features from T.I., Gucci Mane, Boosie Badazz, 21 Savage, Wale and 2 Chainz and production from Zaytoven, Drumma Boy, Honorable C-Note and others, Rich Crack Baby is a titanic effort from Young Dolph, affirming his status as one of street rap’s biggest names. His recent nomination for the BET Hip-Hop Awards’ “People’s Champ” Award makes it clear that the rest of rap world can’t deny it anymore either.

Rich Crack Baby is the third high-quality mixtape from Young Dolph’s busy 2016, following the release of Bo$$e$ and $hooter$ in May and King of Memphis in February. Noisey described King of Memphis, a 11-track dose of pure Dolph with no featured artists, as “a solid debut album from one of the most quietly popular artists in the South right now.” In addition to dropping an excellent mixtape every three months, the Memphis kingpin also frequently releases inventive visuals, including the hilarious “Get Paid,” and the absurd “Royalty,” which features cameo appearances from a capuchin monkey, a giraffe, and even a white tiger. In January, Forbes named Young Dolph one of The Hip-Hop Cash Princes of 2016, placing him alongside Fetty Wap, G-Eazy, and Metro Boomin, among others, and last month, Dolph successfully headlined the 21-date Royalty tour. The end of 2016 appears to be more of the same for Dolph, who started off his Autumn appearing on “Bling Blaww Burr,” the lead single on Gucci Mane‘s upcoming Woptober. Dolph also had a star guest turn on “Cut It” the hit by OT Genasis, his first foray onto the Billboard charts, peaking at number 35 on the Hot 100.
