Announcing his gang allegiances and asserting his street supremacy, Jay Fizzle shares The Color Purple, his latest mixtape. Bursting with confidence and riddled with slick rhymes, The Color Purple is a breakout project for Jay Fizzle, demonstrating the aggressively compelling microphone presence that earned him a co-sign from Memphis kingpin Young Dolph. Released by Dolph’s Paper Route Empire, the mixtape also showcases Fizzle’s versatile arsenal of flows, as he slips into the Kanye West flow from “THat Part” on “Bankroll” and flexing rapid triplets on “Blue Hunnids.” Featuring appearances from Trinidad Jame$ and Skippa Da Flippa, as well as production from Cassius Jay, Budda Blessed This Beat, and others, The Color Purple is Jay Fizzle and Paper Route Empire’s latest salvo in the battle for Memphis’ streets.
Prominently featured on Young Dolph’s 2016 mixtape Bo$$es and $hooter$, especially on the dangerous single “Fuck A N*gga,” Jay Fizzle busted out in a big way in 2016. Firing off boastful trap bars like a Mac-10 with a scowling Southern flavor, Paper Route Empire’s Jay Fizzle is on the come up, and he is packing heat. Earlier this year, Fizzle released Life of a Lul Gangsta, a menacing, bouncy collection of bombastic street stories, which features “Menace To Society,” Fizzle’s collaboration with Young Dolph. Explained Dolph before the release of Life of a Lul Gangsta, “Fizzle is hungry and a hard worker and he represents the youth in Memphis. He’s a reflection of how the new generation act, talk, and walk. Memphis is a trendsetting city. Everything from our slang, our personalities, the way we run the streets, our music, it always becomes popular in a few years.”
