Continuing his radio-conquering run, Yella Beezy shares “Headlocc,” a confrontational new single. Built around a lumbering piano melody and syncopated snares, “Headlocc” is a manic missive aimed at fakes and lames, who would leap at the opportunity to turn a friend into the feds. Trading verses with Young Thug, who reins in his vocal acrobatics and lets Beezy shine, the Dallas native describes his desire to get revenge in explicit detail: “Headlocc/I buss a n**** head open/Killers outside his sto’/And I put the play in motion.”
