Video: Yella Beezy – “Restroom Occupied” ft. Chris Brown
The HITCO Records Signee Shares a Funny and Flashy Video for His Rising Radio Hit from the Baccend Beezy Project
“How Yella Beezy Scored a Number One Hit During the Summer of Drake” – Rolling Stone
“Yella makes rap that falls into the ever so-popular “melodic” description, but his flows and downright ability to spit set him apart from everyone else” – XXL
“Beezy brings the heat…In an era when hip hop artists are releasing albums where every song sounds pretty much the same, Yella Beezy has delivered a record that goes against the grain on his latest project, Baccend Beezy. The Southern rapper sticks to his roots as listeners can pick up influences from the region, but Beezy has a little bit of something for everyone on his latest mixtape. ” – HotNewHipHop
“He uses simple lyrics intelligently, with an infectious flow that would sound equally appropriate in a noisy nightclub or coming from a cell phone outside West End Station during rush hour.” – Dallas Observer
Equally adept at down-home Southern anthems as club bangers, Yella Beezy is one of the rap game’s most promising young hitmakers. Connecting with a fellow radio darling for a celebratory ode to secret sexual encounters, Beezy shares the video for “Restroom Occupied,” featuring Chris Brown. With a beat from OG Parker, the raunchy and addictive “Restroom Occupied” currently sits at #18 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay charts. Featuring a cameo appearance from comedian Michael Blackson, the video finds Beezy and Breezy sipping Belaire in a glamorous club, luring bad girls from the dancefloor to the women’s room as their boyfriends helplessly look on. Quickly following the creative animated visual for “Restroom Occupied,” the seductive single is one of the highlights from Baccend Beezy, the Dallas rapper’s recent project.
“It’s always dope when I get to work with my brother Breezy,” says Yella Beezy to Complex, who premiered the video. “You know we just came off tour together and homie is different, he’s special. I felt like we killed this record and we killed the video. Working with Michael Blackson was cool too. What y’all don’t know is, Chris and I took his girls for real after the shoot so he’s big mad right now.”
Released in July 2019, Baccend Beezy is the latest chapter in the Dallas native’s independent rise from obscurity to stardom. Featuring the Urban Radio Top Ten hit “Bacc At It Again” ft. Quavo & Gucci Mane, Baccend Beezy peaked at #91 on the Billboard 200 and featured appearances from Young Thug, Chris Brown, NLE Choppa, Too $hort, and more. Last week, Beezy shared a luxurious video for project highlight “Trust,” which has over 500k views in just eight days of release.
Yella Beezy made his name in the industry the old fashioned way, building up a massive local fanbase in his hometown before winning the support of DJs across the country. He emerged in 2017 with the Gold-certified hit “That’s On Me,” which peaked at #1 on Urban radio, eclipsing Drake’s “In My Feelings” for the top spot. Later that year, Yella Beezy opened for Beyoncé and Jay-Z on the On The Run Tour, and in summer 2019, he had a prominent spot supporting his “Restroom Occupied” co-star Chris Brown on his Indigoat Tour.
Stay tuned for much more to come from Yella Beezy in 2019.
