With over 74,000 followers on Instagram awaiting her every move, Precious Way developed a reputation in rap circles for her freestyling ability. Teaming up with “A Milli” beatsmith Bangladesh and Tra Beats, Precious Way wanders into a video game-themed fantasyland in “Watch Me Go,” her latest video single. Spitting doubletime rhymes over an 8-bit beat, Precious chops it up with her friends in this bonkers new clip, featuring a surprising cameo appearance from the world’s most famous video game character, Mario, who runs from the cops and visits a strip club. Combining the innocent shenanigans of the Mushroom Kingdom with the violent realism of the Grand Theft Auto series, Precious Way shines through the digital distractions with her magnetic charisma and impressive skills behind the mic: “Watch me go, watch me go, watch me go/Pipin’ it up like I’m Mario/Watch me go run up a check/I call it just workin’ my cardio.” Premiered by Mass Appeal, “Watch Me Go” is a unique, candy-colored visual and an excellent introduction to an exciting new artist.
Born and raised in Chicago, Precious Way built a following on Instagram, garnering thousands of views on her takes on popular rap tracks, such as OT Genasis‘ “Coco” and 21 Savage and Future‘s “X.” A cousin of Soulja Boy, with whom she shares a signature swag, Precious has gained some traction on urban radio, earning spins in 26 markets and averaging 200 spins a week on her songs.
