Sacramento-bred, L.A.-based singer/songwriter Victoria Monét is stepping into the spotlight with her forthcoming EP, Nightmares & Lullabies: Act II. Premiered by The FADER, Monét has shared the project’s latest single, “See the Light,” which finds the R&B artist searching for sincerity as she treads through the daily pressures. The glimmering track presents Victoria’s dreamy vocals on top of production by Tommy Brown and Mr. Franks. “The big goal, of course, is happiness, but not everyday is so bright,” she told The FADER. “So ‘See The Light’ is a song about sharing those feelings with someone special who understands where you’re coming from. After all, those bad days help you appreciate the best days.”
Victoria previously released her single “High Luv” via Pigeons & Planes, who said the track “blurs the lines between R&B and pop—making it feel like the perfect song to take over the airwaves this summer,” adding that “Victoria Monét proves that she clearly knows how to make a hit.” Monét was also recently featured in Machine Gun Kelly‘s “A Little More.” Having proved her writing talents with work on Ariana Grande‘s debut and sophomore album as well as tracks for Nas, Chrisette Michele, and Fifth Harmony, Victoria Monét is ready to shine through as a singer in the forefront. Her forthcoming EP, Nightmares & Lullabies: Act II, is dropping this summer on June 16.

Victoria Monet Background:
From her toddler days spent growing up in Sacramento, California, R&B singer Victoria Monet has used various creative mediums-dancing, singing, poetry-to express herself, using lessons gleaned from relationships and her interpretations of the world around her to find her niche as a sensual vocalist with unparalleled songwriting skills and, most importantly, a message that people can relate to.
Fans may recognize Monet from features on hits from T.I. and Machine Gun Kelly, but it was with her 2014 debut EP Nightmares & Lullabies – Act 1, which touts guest appearances from B.o.B and Ty Dolla $ign, that her artistic vision crystalized. Monet’s music may be intensely personal, but it’s relating to her listeners that keeps her motivated. “I feel I want to share my own story,” she says. “There’s a girl out there who was shy like me, who maybe didn’t know how to express herself any other way. I want to represent that person, the underdog that no one thought would make it and would just be submissive and not be heard.”
