“Treety rules, and here’s the proof” – The FADER

“Treian ‘Treety’ Jackson is New Orleans’ Next Big Name” – New Orleans Magazine

“I only rap when I have things to say,” admits Treety. “When people piss me off, sometimes I just have to make a song.” In recent years, the New Orleans artist has channeled moments of anger into multiple viral tracks, including “Making Love,” “Let’s Go,” “Love Song,” and “Is U Stupid?” While fueled by frustration, these songs are not angry at all. If anything, they prove that success is the best revenge, showcasing a commanding artist who blends lyricism, energy, and swagger into music and visuals that captivate. After a handful of mixtapes and years on the grind, Treety has partnered with Curren$y’s Jet Life Recordings for “Bad Vibes,” a milestone single that takes her sound in new directions while further spotlighting an exciting crop of new N.O. talent.

“I’m from Downtown New Orleans, the Seventh Ward,” Treety explains. Her songs work to unify the city, while her videos depict its many different sections and neighborhoods. Although she grew up just blocks from tourist destinations and hot spots, Treety’s experience speaks to a side of the city that outsiders rarely see. “I had to fight growing up. Not because I wanted to, but because I had to. They make you fight; they would try you.” Treety—which is a lifelong nickname for Treian—used that tough upbringing to build her inner strength. The self-described tomboy developed a fearlessness that made her unwilling to be intimidated or pushed from her purpose.

In her teens, Treety made her first song at the suggestion of friends. Five years later, the same producer asked her to make an encore. At the time, Treety was a Mass Communications student at Southern University of Baton Rouge. As a joke, she posted that she was available for bookings. Listeners weren’t laughing, and the SoundCloud track, which racked up 10,000 streams over one weekend, led to paid offers. She accepted the gigs and never looked back.

Since that unlikely musical beginning, Treety’s confidence has guided her path. “I can rap on any beat,” she asserts. Some of her biggest songs incorporate New Orleans’ legendary Bounce sound. Treety is adamant that she is not a Bounce artist, but those elements have helped songs like “Making Love” blow up in the city’s clubs, surpassing 10 million streams. “I hate when people that’s not from here try to make our music,” she charges, pointing instead to hungry peers who deserve that attention. “Is U Stupid” and “Love Song” find Treety riding the pocket of booming beats and delivering catchy choruses without compromising her skills. “There’s no rapper in the world like me,” she boasts, priding herself on originality and authenticity.

After five releases—most notably 2025’s power-packed Trick Or Treat—Treety has partnered with a team that has long represented self-made success. Jet Life president Mousa Hamdan has advocated for Treety throughout her independent development, serving as both an ally and a resource along the way. Now, Treety is proud to join the Jet Life Recordings roster, a tight-knit family built by Curren$y and Mousa that encourages individuality, artistry, and grind.

That partnership takes flight with “Bad Vibes,” a provocative and cautionary new single that showcases Treety’s personality, energy, and virtuosity while incorporating Avant’s 2000 breakup smash “Separated.” While Treety is known for weaving female samples and vocals into her biggest songs, this track offers a fresh, equally catchy spin on the formula.

If Treety only raps when she has something to say, her march toward a new career peak makes clear that she has plenty on her mind—and knows exactly what to do with it.
