A master of blunt force lyricism, Key Glock has a single-minded devotion to growing his bankroll. Giving game from a Gingham throne, Key Glock shares “I Can Show You,“ his latest video. Produced by Bandplay and Yung Hurricane, “I Can Show You” combines lo-fi strings that would fit in a RZA instrumental with thumping dirty south percussion, as Glock peppers the track with ad-libs and not-so-friendly advice for those trying to be like him: “I can show you how to get money, my n****/Just get up-up off your ass.”
In the video, Glock pontificates in an empty warehouse, rocking an MCM beanie as he does his money dance. Following last week’s video for “Move Around” (1.3 million views), “I Can Show You” is the latest video from from Dum & Dummer 2, the acclaimed and successful collaborative album from Key Glock and his Paper Route EMPIRE boss and frequent sparring partner Young Dolph.
Debuting at #8 on the Billboard 200, Dum & Dummer 2 generated nearly 36k sales equivalent units across platforms and scored the fifth-biggest streaming debut on Spotify during its first week of release. Earlier this month, the album received a glowing review from Pitchfork, who awarded the album a 7.5 score and cemented Young Dolph & Key Glock as a “once-in-a-generation” rap duo, akin to 8Ball & MJG or Method Man & Redman, and “one of the most in-sync alliances in the genre today.” Dum & Dummer 2 is the duo’s second Top 10 album, following the original Dum and Dummer, which debuted at #8 in 2019.
Dum and Dummer 2 finds Dolph & Glock operating at a high level of craftsmanship, charisma, and luxury. With artwork that references MTV’s most famous duo, Beavis & Butthead, Dum & Dummer 2 establishes the two rappers (and cousins) as two halves of the same brain, each seamlessly picking up threads and finishing lines that the other leaves off.
