The Podcast:

Luke-O and Pyrex Pre$$ of Moola Gang Ca$h Cow$ kick off this week’s Audible Treats Hip-Hop Podcast with “All This Money.” Luke-O released his Lacoste Bo$$ mixtape earlier this week and the pair dropped this single as a video last month in anticipation of the mixtape. The lyrics detail Luke-O’s blue-collar origins rivaled with his ambition to make it big. Luke-O delivers as the “Lacoste Bo$$” in a video of him repping Lacoste gear like no other. Following “All This Money” is Wara From the NBHD with his new single, “Case Closed.” It is the latest single off his recently released concept album, Kidnapped. The track, however is unlike the fictional storyline created for the rest of the album. “Case Closed” is an introspective track detailing Wara’s brother’s incarceration presented through a haunting piano melody accompanying Wara’s cries of anguish. Next up is the title track from Jahzel’s forthcoming album, The Wake Up. “Wake Up” presents Jahzel’s reflection on growing up in Chicago. He details the struggle of dealing with a city with limited opportunities while aspiring to thrive. The sound effects of traffic, sirens and gunshots backing the beat are meant to reinforce the issues surrounding the city. Fourth on the docket is Sir Michael Rocks with “KillSwitch,” the latest single off his solo debut album, Banco. The track features Miami rappers, Pouya and Robb Bank$, who announced they will join Sir Michael on his upcoming Midwest tour to promote the album. Rocks’ was ecstatic about the track stating that “Pouya and Robb started writing a back and forth verse and immediately I started writing the hook excitedly… All I could think of when writing this song was the live show and how hype this shit would be. The hook was born in that moment. Complete with Kill Bill references and idle threats, this is a perfect turn up for 2015 and beyond.” Closing out the Podcast is the latest single from rising star, Devin Miles. “Came Up” is the first single from his upcoming album, Pixburgh, an album focused on giving fans a real-life description of the depths of Pittsburgh, Miles’ hometown. The single reflects on Miles’ rise in national prominence mirrored with local notoriety. Miles proclaims that “Came up is my true story of realized potential. Seeing the path to the apex, and the slow and patient grind to finally rise to the top with those that began with me since Day 1.”
