We at Audible Treats stand in solidarity with the protesters across the country who seek justice for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless others. As a company, we are developing a concrete plan of action to combat the deleterious effects of systemic racism and police brutality. Currently, our team members are donating to just causes, marching in the streets, speaking out in public and private, and further educating ourselves about America’s racist past and present so that we are better equipped to call out injustice when we recognize it.

We take our role seriously as a conduit for amplifying voices and stories that tend to be ignored by the mainstream media. As for our day-to-day work of publicizing our artists and their stories, we’re working closely with them to find a balance between their need for artistic expression and their solidarity with the protest movement.

There is strength in numbers. Here is a resource that lists ways you can take action: https://blacklivesmatters.carrd.co/

No justice, no peace. Black Lives Matter.

Film: Rah Swish – BK Belly (Directed by Poke & Tone)

The Canarsie Rapper Puts His Own Spin on Belly, the 1998 Cult Classic Film, As He Prepares for His Upcoming WOO Forever Project

Critical Praise:

“As the New York City street rap renaissance continues, it seems like new guys are coming around every corner with a banger. Enter Rah Swish, whose latest song, ‘Treeshin’,’ is a stereo system’s dream: bass-heavy, belligerent, and demanding to be cranked to max volume.” – Pitchfork

The Film:

Though he came up under the wing of the late Pop Smoke, Canarsie rapper Rah Swish has more than enough charisma to stand out on his own. Showing off his magnetic screen presence, Rah Swish presents BK Belly, a new short film (or #WOOVIE). The new film pays homage to Hype Williams’ 1998 film Belly, a cult classic that featured DMX and Nas in starring roles, lovingly recreating the original’s plot and iconic moments (including the use of Soul II Soul’s “Back To Life” over the opening credits) with a Brooklyn twist. Directed with style by Poke & Tone of the Trackmasters, who produced tracks for the original film’s blockbuster soundtrack, BK Belly follows Rah as he schemes, strategizes, romances, and kills in an attempt to take over the Brooklyn streets.

BK Belly benefits from a soundtrack that features new music from Rah Swish, who is planning to release his upcoming project WOO Forever on June 26th. Appearing during a particularly memorable scene is  Tongue Out (Treeshin’ 2),” the Brooklyn rapper’s energetic new banger. The title track WOO Forever,” which has over 100k Spotify streams in just two weeks of release, soundtracks time-lapsed cityscapes. BK Belly also offers previews of unreleased tracks like “Hustlin'” and “The Slide Show.

Honoring the memory of his close friend Pop Smoke even as he builds his own legacy, WOO Forever is Rah’s first project since last year’s debut Look What They Started. Though it reflects the dark realities of street life, Rah Swish’s brand of drill gets a lift from the emcee’s crackling energy, as he fills every space with wild ad-libs (“WOO”) and toe-tags each beat with merciless precision.

WOO Forever arrives on June 26th via WOO Entertainment/EMPIRE.

The Background:

Hailing from Canarsie, Brooklyn, Rah Swish is one of the first to carve out the newfound drill scene in New York City. Rah Swish teamed up with childhood friends to make a rap collective named N.B.A., which stood for “Never Broke Again.” After garnering millions of views on group songs, Rah began to release music as a solo act and built a highly engaged core following with early standout records like “Debo,” “Back Up,” “This & That,” and “Double It” with Pop Smoke. Dropping his first body of work in 2019 entitled “Look What They Started,” Rah quickly began to catapult to new heights with the breakout single “Treeshin’,” which became the unapologetic theme song for thotty activity all over his city and reached 2 million views on Youtube in a matter of months. In 2020, Rah has continued to put New York on notice with standout videos like “Too Much” featuring Bizzy Banks,“War Time” and “Who Run The City”. Rah draws inspiration from 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, Drake, and of course, Rah Swish. WOO!
