As the million billion suns die, they coalesce into one singular form of energy, before they explode into super nova. It is the vanishing point, where you and me don’t matter, but we do. And so do you. Yes You. We are all Dying Suns, sewn into the same fabric. Endlessly dying, constantly living, in the pattern of the infinite universe.
[wpex click for full bio]AMBDS is the project and child of Nate Mercereau, guitarist, singer and principal songwriter. Formed in San Francisco, the band is a transcendental wall of sound that lives up to it’s own name: A Million Billion Dying Suns. Band members include Steve Wyreman (guitar), Josh Lippi (bass), Derek Taylor (drums) and Ben Schwier (keys). Members of the band have performed and recorded with artists across the musical spectrum. Nate Mercereau with Sheila E and Chaka Khan and Steve Wyreman with Richard Ashcroft, Lauryn Hill and NO ID. As a band they have backed Darondo, Alice Russell, Wallpaper., and Chuck Prophet. Despite their affiliations, AMBDS chooses to transcend musically through the raging chaos of the infinite universes, channeled through the wailing and ruling of their guitars.
Simply put, A Million Billion Dying Suns makes transcendental rock music. Music itself is transcendent, and The Sun’s brilliantly shiny, grungy and gnarly sound fits snugly into this zone.
AMBDS is set to release a 3 song EP entitled the Strawberry EP. The title track, “Strawberry Letter 23,” is Mercereau’s take on the Shuggie Otis classic, turned into a colossal towering monolith of swirling fuzz. You rub your eyes, but the dreamlike tableau persists.[/wpex]
