“Guapdad 4000 continues to solidify himself as one of the game’s best-kept secrets. Charismatic and technically sound in equal measure, Guap’s dynamic persona has worked wonders where his networking game is concerned. Though while he may find himself breaking in some important rooms, his inherent nature as the Scam King will never fade.” – HotNewHipHop
“Guapdad4000 is living the dream. The Bay Area–bred faux scammer has pivoted from Instagram celebrity into rapper seamlessly.” – Pitchfork
“Hip-hop is a genre where outlaws can easily become folk heroes, and Guapdad embraces that. He’s comically narcissistic and in-your-face about his sins and bad habits (chugging Hennessy from the bottle is a big one), yet endearing with his Urkel glasses and love for Pokémon.” – KQED
With a con artist’s charm and a hustler’s work ethic, Oakland’s Guapdad 4000 is one of the most ambitious emcees in the Bay Area. Having a romantic night on the town with not one, but two beautiful ladies, Guapdad spits game on “Flossin,” his latest single. Switching between cooed melody and soft-spoken rhymes, Guapdad turns his indomitable charm towards the opposite sex, piling up an endless array of boasts and come-ons: “Played you like VHS, make a movie then rewind/I think I might drop you, so can we do it one more time/I got mountains of game, but you not ready for the climb.” In the video, Guapdad’s love is too big for just one woman, as he enjoys a date night packed with Range Rover rides, Mario Kart games, and…other less wholesome activities. “Flossin” is Guapdad’s first new single since “California,” his single with Yung Pinch & Chinese producer Harikiri.
Known for his peerless ability to finesse, Guapdad is still scammin’ after all these years. Earning comparisons to Mac Dre and other Bay Area legends, Guapdad 4000 had a unique come-up. A respected rapper in his West Oakland community, Guapdad gained notoriety with his comedic YouTube videos, which hilariously played off his “scamboy” persona and developed a cult following. With charisma and ease, Guapdad converted fans of his comedy into fans of his music. As a rapper, Guapdad combines his sharp sense of humor with a softly malleable delivery and a refined sense of melody, which earned the attention of Snoop Dogg, who reposted some of his videos and freestyles. Since then, Guapdad’s music has taken on a life of its own, earning critical respect from the likes of Pitchfork, KQED, HotNewHipHopand more for his colorful personality and songwriting skills. In recent months, Guapdad has collaborated with Buddy, Higher Brothers, YBN Almighty Jay, ALLBLACK, and many others. Stay tuned for more music from Guapdad 4000 this summer, soon to be known as The Summer of Scam.
