With his high-pitched melodicism and slick way with words, Ralo is one of the most respected young emcees in the Atlanta scene. Gearing up for another collection of emotionally honest trap tales, Ralo announces Famerica Presents: Plugged In With the Cartel, his upcoming mixtape alongside tour DJ, DJ Kutt Throat. Ralo stands out among emcees for his unique conscience and sense of morality that imbues each track, inspired by his devotion to his family and his Muslim faith. Featuring appearances from Lil Baby, Money Man, and others, Plugged In With the Cartel is Ralo’s first project since Ralo LaFlare, his summer project hosted by Gucci Mane. Presented by Ralo’s own Famerica imprint and distributed by EMPIRE, Plugged In With the Cartel arrives on November 24th.
Born and raised in The Bluff, a notoriously dangerous neighborhood in West Atlanta recently featured in the film Snow On the Bluff, Ralo (neé Terrell Davis) provided for his family at a young age, selling CDs and DVDs on the streets while honing his rap skills. Unfortunately, his youthful indiscretions caused him to spend much of his young life in and out of jail. After emerging from prison for the final time in 2015, Ralo found Islam, and he dedicated his life to making the streets a safer place through his music. In 2017, Ralo teamed up with Gucci Mane to release Ralo LaFlare, which featured appearances from heavy-hitters like Young Thug, Young Dolph, Lil Durk, Fetty Wap, OJ Da Juiceman, Sean Garrett, and production from Cassius Jay, Super Mario, Honorable C-Note, Wheezy, and more. With his unique mic presence, his undeniable talent, and the respect of the best and brightest in the ATL scene, Ralo’s star will only continue to rise with his upcoming projects.
Today, Ralo shares “On My Kids (Outro),” an emotional and boastful new single. Produced by Twysted Genius, who crafts a plaintive, longing piano-led instrumental, “On My Kids” is a series of confessions, with Ralo ruminating on his faith, his friends stuck in prison, and his prodigious money-getting abilities. In the video, Ralo gives a glimpse into his home life, rapping from a bench swing in his yard, showing off his jewels, and even relaxing in his bathtub. Premiered by Vibe, “On My Kids” is the latest release from Plugged In With the Cartel, following the fun, Lil Baby-featuring “Lil Cali & Pakistan,” released last week.
