Sylvan LaCue‘s Far From Familiar album is slated to release in April, and as anticipation builds, he’s teamed up with frequent collaborator Fortune, producer and co-founder of the Flow-Fi Collective, to share a loose single. An ambitious track exploring his own vision and climb in the industry, “Heavenly” was recorded at HotNewHipHop‘s New York City studio.Ā “This song is about appreciating where I am currently and reflecting on where I could have been,” Sylvan LaCue notes to HNHH. “This song won’t live on my upcoming project, but it’s still very much a part of my narrative.”
Earlier this month, Los Angeles via Miami rapper Sylvan LaCue shared a painstaking visual for “Fall From Grace,” the lead single from hisĀ Far From Familiar album. “‘Fall From Grace’ captures Sylvanās newfound sense of confidence and determination,” Mass Appeal noted in their premiere post, adding “heās not afraid that heās showed up to the proverbial party solo, evidenced in his tireless rapping.” One of the best examples of LaCue’s range as an artist came with the R&B-tinged single “Emeryville.” “‘Emeryville’ displays a softer side to Sylvan LaCue,” Pigeons & Planes acknowledged. “The sweet melody wrapped around the chorus canāt help but find its way into your heart and mindāeach repetition this song only makes it feel that much sweeter.”
Formerly performing and releasing music as QuESt, Sylvan LaCue abandoned his deal with LogicāsĀ Visionary Music Group in December 2014. After a short hiatus that included LaCue leaving the party life of L.A. in favor of moving home to Miami, he returned to music in the fourth quarter of 2015 with the release of his E V A N G E L I N E EP, produced entirely by Fortune. āI find my calmness in times of uncertainty by myself alone during late nights,” he explains. āI can pray, speak to God, and remind myself of whatās most important. I mentally operate better when Iām left alone.ā
