Inspired by Stick Figure lead singer and multi-instrumentalist Scott Woodruff‘s relationship with his dog Cocoa, the roots reggae favorites release a retro-tinted visual for “Shadow,” the bass-heavy ninth track from Stick Figure’s Set In Stone album. “‘Shadow’ is a reference to Cocoa, she is my sidekick, my shadow,” Woodruff explains to Live For Live Music in their video premiere post. “Cocoa is essentially a member of the band. She is on stage every night, walking the perimeter and greeting the fans. She also gets first pick on choosing her bunk on the bus!” Cocoa nabs the spotlight in the video, enjoying car rides, games of fetch and receiving a rapturous reception by Stick Figure fans. Set in Stone, which has sold more than 10K units since it’s release in November, took Woodruff three years to make as he recorded in a self-constructed recording studio. Says Woodruff, “This was the first song written and recorded atRuffwood Studios, which I built in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The process of building a studio from scratch in the mountains, surrounded by Redwood trees, yet 15 minutes from the beach, really framed the concept and direction of the album.”
“Shadow” is the fourth music video released from Stick Figure’s Set In Stone album, following “Sound of the Sea,” “Fire On The Horizon,” and “Smiles On Faces.” The consistent releases and rigorous touring schedule are paying off, as Set in Stone remains #1 on Billboard’s Reggae charts 15 weeks after its release, in addition to the music having landed on the CMJ World and Jambands radio charts. Preceding the November release, which the Reggae Review called “one of the best Reggae records of 2015/16,” Stick Figure has released five albums, all recorded with Woodruff producing and playing every instrument. The current live lineup features Kevin “KBong” Bong on keyboards, Kevin Offitzer on drums, and bassist Tommy Suliman, with Woodruff upfront on guitar and vocals. Cutting a powerful path through the club, concert, and ultimately festival circuit, the band has toured with Slightly Stoopid, Rebelution, Dirty Heads, Collie Buddz, The Green, and Tribals Seeds, and headlined their first national tour in 2014 with many of the shows selling out. Stick Figure are currently on the road in the U.S. through April for their Set In Stone Tour .

Southern California Roots Reggae favorites Stick Figure are one of the few acts that are able to consistently reinvent themselves in the Reggae world. Stylistically unique, the band is able to build on their Reggae and Dub influences while creating a style completely their own. Multi-instrumentalist, producer and frontman Scott Woodruff fathered the group and is noted for his innovative style of recording; individually playing each instrument and multi-tracking them in unison. As with his previous releases, the upcoming Set in Stone was entirely written, produced and recorded by Woodruff, a self-taught musician. His touring band features Kevin Bong (Keyboards), Kevin Offitzer (Drums), and Tommy Suliman (Bass), having played alongside the likes of SOJA, Collie Buddz, Alpha Blondy and The Expendables. Having 5 full-length albums and selling over 50,000 albums worldwide on top of charting #1 on both the Reggae iTunes and Billboard charts, the band shows no signs of stopping any time soon. Last year, Stick Figure kicked off the summer with the June 3rd release of “Smokin’ Love,” a feel-good anthem featuring Collie Buddz that had over 25 million plays on Soundcloud, while hitting the road with Rebelution for their Count Me InTour alongside Reggae favorites Iration and The Green. They released their sixth album, Set in Stone, on November 13th, 2015.
