The Song:

Exceeding 660K plays on SoundCloud, and catapulting into the top 10 on Billboard’s Emerging Artists Chart, self-made songwriter and artist Bobby Brackins‘ “Hot Box” is available for download on iTunes. The FADER calls the single “a perfect weekender,” while Karen Civil adds that “his skills go beyond songwriting.” BroBible debuted a vivacious lyric video for “Hot Box,” calling it the “stoner anthem of the summer,” as Brackins parlayed poolside with a P.Y.T. Produced by RedWine and embodying a West Coast summer vibe, HYPETRAK states that “the infectious, melodic song pays proper homage to the California greenery.”

Joined on the song by G-Eazy and Mila J, Bobby will be releasing the official video later this month – a screenshot can be seen below. In addition to “Hot Box” and his previously released single “143,” which features Ray J, Bobby has been re-dinging mainstream radio as a songwriter, with credits that include Chris Brown‘s platinum hit “Loyal,” Tinashe‘s “2 On,” and Ray J’s “I Hit It First.” With over 25 million YouTube plays, and international radio spins to his credit, the established soloist has written for and collaborated with a litany of artists including Ty Dolla $ign, YG, Iamsu!, Trey Songz, Jeremih, and Zendaya. When reflecting on his incredible career Bobby states, “People are seeing my name more and more, and they’re giving me a little more credit. I’m excited about dropping my own music and giving people the awareness that I’ve helped mold the new West Coast sound.”

With trap-styled production, hand claps, and a low bpm perfect for any house party, “Hot Box” illustrates Bobby’s tenacity for songwriting and ability to cross seamlessly into the pop rap world while still maintaining his East Oakland roots. Matched with lyrics, “Roll up with the windows up I’m still sippin’ whiskey from the solo cup,” “Hot Box” is guaranteed to be a house party staple. On referencing the creation of the track Bobby reflects, “Hot Box is going to pop off in parties and functions. It sounds amazing in the car. People are going to pre-party and cruise to it and play it when then are in the mood to have a good time. People are going to start understanding that my sound is what has generated a lot of what’s working on the radio. I’m excited to put out my new music. I was behind the scenes for a while now it’s time to get it poppin’ for myself.”
