“Unshackled from any kind of outline, Durk’s pen game shines. His rise was dotted with blood-soaked tales that summarized much of drill’s appeal: ground-level glimpses at Chicago’s South Side that colored in the outline offered by grim murder statistics.” –Pitchfork
The Video:
With a strong track record of melodic, hard-hitting street records, Lil Durk is striking again, this time remixing Logic‘s “1-800-273-8255” for “1 (733) Vulture.” The ATL-via-Chicago artist spins the track with introspective lines about street life and homicide. “Why the opposition calling my line?/Telling me come outside/I would, but I know they lying,” Durk croons. “My mama had a dream about me dying/I told her that I hope she lying/It’s gon’ be a homicide/It’s gon’ be a homicide/Fuck with Durk and they dying today.”
On the process of recording “1 (733) Vulture,” Durk explains, “I liked the original by Logic. The engineer pulled up the instrumental and the vibe was right so I went in the booth – wanted to release the song the next day! And Logic, that’s my brudda.”
The new song follows Durk’s “India” video, which he dedicated to girlfriend India Royale. The visual is from October’s Signed to the Streets 2.5, one of Durk’s four projects in 2017. The OTF spitter turned heads in December with Bloodas, an album-length collaboration with Detroit rapper Tee Grizzley. Earlier that Summer, Durk teamed up with fellow Drill movement rapper Lil Reese for their Supa Vultures EP. 2017 also cemented Durk as one of Hip-Hop’s most prolific collaborators, appearing on Young Thug’s EBBTG, Trae Tha Truth‘s Tha Truth 3, Mozzy‘s 1 Up Top Ahk, and Ralo x Gucci Mane‘s Ralo LaFlare. Fans can stay tuned for Signed To The Streets 3, slated to release this year.

EMPIRE Background
EMPIRE was founded in 2010 as an artist-friendly, progressive digital distribution company. After early success, and identifying future icons such as Kendrick Lamar, Sage The Gemini, and Rich Homie Quan, EMPIRE was quickly regarded as a tastemaker in the industry and throughout the past five years evolved into a full-fledged record label, distributor and publisher for independent musicians. With the company and roster growing at a breakneck pace, EMPIRE has effectively disrupted a stale business model by bringing its energy, expertise, and acumen to its artists and labels.
