We at Audible Treats stand in solidarity with the protesters across the country who seek justice for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless others. As a company, we are developing a concrete plan of action to combat the deleterious effects of systemic racism and police brutality. Currently, our team members are donating to just causes, marching in the streets, speaking out in public and private, and further educating ourselves about America’s racist past and present so that we are better equipped to call out injustice when we recognize it.

We take our role seriously as a conduit for amplifying voices and stories that tend to be ignored by the mainstream media. As for our day-to-day work of publicizing our artists and their stories, we’re working closely with them to find a balance between their need for artistic expression and their solidarity with the protest movement.

There is strength in numbers. Here is a resource that lists ways you can take action: https://blacklivesmatters.carrd.co/

No justice, no peace. Black Lives Matter.

TikTok Treats, Week Of June 15th

A Weekly Roundup Of Interesting Music Stories From the World of TikTok – This Week Brings the Best Of TikTok’s #BlackMusicMonth Initiative

The News:

Audible Treats is excited to work with TikTok, the world’s leading platform for music discovery. Each week, TikTok Treats will bring the platform’s best music stories directly to your inbox.

As people continue to be active in support of Black lives, TikTok remains committed to amplify their voices. Posts with the #BlackLivesMatter hashtag have generated more than 10.8 billion video views, whether they’re documenting memorable moments from the movement or seeking to educate users about anti-racism.

In an effort to promote the platform’s endlessly creative Black community, TikTok celebrates #BlackMusicMonth, offering special programming to celebrate and highlight Black artists’ contributions to music and to the platform, enlisting prominent Black artists for “Sound Offs,”  promoting the #BlackMusic hashtag, creating a #BlackMusicMonth playlist, and spotlighting emerging artists and their music with special in-app promo banners (including Chloe X Halle, Sech, Saint JHN, and others).

Below are some highlights from the first half of #BlackMusicMonth

With #BlackMusicMonth, TikTok acknowledges and thanks the black creators and artists who make the platform so vibrant. Whether it’s used for fun or for education, TikTok is proud to stand with the Black community, and will continue to do its part to create a supportive community and foster a space where everyone is seen and heard
