MP3: Big Hud x Beeda Weeda – Hella Turnt Ft. Too $hort & E-40

Dallas’ Big Hud and Oakland’s Beeda Weeda Team Up With West-Coast Legends For “Hella Turnt” From Forthcoming Joint Project, The Storm

08.11.2014

HELLA TURNT - SINGLE - COVER - 01

The Song:

East Oakland’s Beeda Weeda teamed up with Dallas’ Big Hud and Bay-Area legends Too $hort and E-40 to release “Hella Turnt,” the first single from the forthcoming The Storm, a joint project between Beeda Weeda and Big Hud. Featuring classic freak-nasty lyrics from Short Dogg and double-time slanguage backed with E-40’s classic ad-libs, backed with trunk-rattling bass, the song embodies the Cali ratchet sound perfectly. “Two OG’s assisted us on this energized West Coast track and endorsed it to give it that hit potential,” says Big Hud, referring to Too $hort and E-40. “We felt like now was the perfect time to create a relateable record the people can party and turn up to.”

Both considered legends in their respective hometowns, Dallas, Texas’ Big Hud teamed with East Oakland’s Beeda Weeda to release three projects this summer. The first will be Big Hud’s solo street album, O.Y.B.A. (On Yo Bi*tch A$$,) hosted by DJ Holiday, which comes out next Tuesday, the second will be Beeda’s solo album entitled, Too $hort Presents: Beeda Weeda’s Bass Rock Babies, due to drop August 19th.  The third project is a joint album entitled The Storm, which will be available for sale on September 30th. As Noisey describes the two, “Though the pair is from disparate regions, their styles complement each other like brothers who were separated at birth and then sent to two different cities to grow their own styles. Now, they have united and are ready to fuck your internet up.”
