Critical Praise for Beeda Weeda:
“Beeda Weeda is an East Oakland Too $hort-affiliate who makes mob music with the enthusiasm and intensity of a rabid pitbull.” – NOISEY
The Song:
East Oakland’s Beeda Weeda is releasing his latest single, “Strip Club (Bedroom),” featuring Oakland legend Too $hort and 1.O.A.K. Premiered by HotNewHipHop, the song is a remix of a previous solo track of Beeda’s, but after it leaked and got such a great reaction, Beeda decided to get his buddy Short Dog on the remix version.
“I never really made strip club music and never really hung out in them until I started traveling to The South,” Beeda admits. During a recent trip Atlanta, Beeda wrote the sultry hook which, when layered with the smooth dance beats he co-produced with Rob-E, creates a song that perfectly catches the strip club vibes in a way that everyone can relate to. “I wanted to come up with a song that people who don’t go to strip clubs could still relate to by basically saying ‘we can bring the strip club to my bedroom.’ She doesn’t have to be a stripper to dance for you in the privacy of your own home, and some women in relationships like to entertain their man and feel like a stripper without actually working in the club. The song is also for guys who go to the strip club and fantasize about bringing one of the girls back to their bedroom, so, in all, everybody can relate.”
Beeda Weeda has established himself as one of the most promising rising rappers from The Bay Area. In doing so, he’s also garnered the support of The Bay’s most loved legends, including Too $hort and E-40. A child of the Hyphy Age, Beeda wasn’t necesarily considered a “hyphy artist” but was at the forefront of Bay Area music during the Hyphy Movement. For the quintessential hyphy video that started it all, Beeda helped E-40 secure locations, cars, and people to shoot “Tell Me When To Go.” Beeda himself had one of the biggest local radio hits and street singles at that time called “Turf’s Up.” Beeda’s upcoming album, Too $hort Presents: Beeda Weeda’s Bass Rock Babies, is due to drop on August 19th and features Too $hort, E-40, Richie Rich, B-Legit, J Stalin, Clyde Carson, 1.O.A.K., Gunplay, Young Gully and more.
Beeda is teaming up with Big Hud from Dallas, Texas to release three projects this summer. The first will be Big Hud’s solo street album, O.Y.B.A., due August 12th, the second will be Beeda’s solo album entitled, Too $hort Presents: Beeda Weeda’s Bass Rock Babies, due to drop August 19th,which comes with a short documentary called “What Is A Beeda Weeda?” and the third project will be a joint album entitled The Storm, which will be available for sale on September 30th.
