Podcast: Audible Treats Hip-Hop Podcast 162
Starting off this weeks episode of the Audible Treat’s Hip-Hop Podcast we have rising RnB songstress Sudie with her new ethereal single, “Asiasaurus.” Produced by long time friend Ted Powell, the track showcases Sudie blending elements of Bjork and Billie Holiday into a style all of her own. The song is a single release in preparation for her forthcoming self-titled EP dropping August 26th on Black Milk’s Computer Ugly record label. Following Sudie, we have audacious party starter Chippy Nonstop with her new track, “Wata,” premiered on VICE’s THUMP earlier last week. Produced by M|O|D member and Mad Decent/Wedidit affiliate C.Z and featuring Major Lazer/M.I.A affiliate Prince Zimboo, “Wata,” combines elements of hip-hop, juke, and dancehall music while maintaining Chippy’s quirkiness over a backdrop of uptempo drum rhythms, synths, and 808’s. The single is the second track off of Chippy’s forthcoming untitled EP slated to be released September 19th. Next up, we have Atlanta-via-Detroit emcee RETRO teaming up with Taylor Gang producer RMB Justize and fellow Detroit native Coda for their new smash, “One Day,” premiered by HotNewHipHop. The track is off of RETRO’s sophomore project, The Six, and was released on DJ Booth earlier this month. After RETRO, we have “Loyal” and “2 On” writer Bobby Brackins featuring singer Mila J and Oakland, California based rapper G-Eazy with their single, “Hot Box.” The song is the first solo offering for Bobby and is a promising start to an artist coming into his own. Ending the podcast, we have renowned Detroit rapper/producer Black Milk with his new release, “Detroit’s New Dance Show.” The track is the first offering off of Black Milk’s forthcoming album, If There Is a Hell Below, due out on his own Computer Ugly imprint October 28th.
