Swagger Rite Announces Debut The Swagged Out Pedestrian EP, Arriving on November 22nd
With Production From D.A. Doman and Appearances from BlocBoy JB, Flipp Dinero, and Yella Beezy, the New EP Delivers an Aggressive New Strain of Toronto Hip-Hop
Turning heads with his high-energy trap bangers, Toronto rapper Swagger Rite is a natural-born party starter. Preparing a set of songs so intense that they could open up a pit at your local Starbucks, Swagger Rite announces The Swagged Out Pedestrian, his debut EP. Bucking his city’s trend towards gauzy soundscapes and half-sung rhymes, Swagger Rite’s music is visceral and direct, intended to make listeners lose their minds. Through out the 5-track project, Swagger Rite is an engaging host, attacking the instrumentals with a variety of locked-in cadences and reveling in his own hedonism. With appearances from BlocBoy JB, Flipp Dinero, and Yella Beezy, plus production from D.A. Doman and Swagger Rite’s longtime collaborator Brenden “Stretch” McDonald, The Swagged Out Pedestrian EP arrives on November 22nd.
“With this new project, I have matured as an artist,” says Swagger Rite. ” My confidence has definitely grown, through my new life experiences. Having the ability to travel, it gives me something to talk about since I’m telling my true story. My album is about money, sex, drugs and mosh pits. Lots of mosh pit vibes. The album title is based on me. I’m a fun and flashy individual who is into fashion and dope things. I’m also a pedestrian in the streets, I’m on road a lot. I’m the definition of swagger and a confident individual from the projects. I also created this project because I’m the voice of my people. I wanna do a catchy title so no one feels left out. Everyone is a pedestrian. You just gotta get your own fly type of shit. The mood of this album for me is everything in one. Pedestrians are always crossing the road, you never know what’s gonna happen. It’s a lifestyle.”
The upcoming EP provides a home for Swagger Rite’s standout singles that dropped throughout 2019. Last month, the rapper shared the “In Love With The K” (Remix), a distorted and dirty trap banger with an appearance from Blocboy JB. Earlier Swagger Rite shared the chaotic video for “Drop Top,” a D.A. Doman-produced ode to low-riding in luxury vehicles. With the upcoming EP, Swagger Rite looks to change the narrative of Toronto hip-hop, proving that the North can trap just as hard as the South.

Growing up near Toronto’s Weston Road (noted on Drake’s “Weston Road Flows”), rapper Swagger Rite has seen a life full of dualities; success and heartbreak, hustling and blue-collar work, fame and dead ends. But it’s these same dualities that envelop his music so strongly and allows him to share the complexities of his community. With collaborations with Flipp Dinero, Yella Beezy, and BlocBoy JB on the books, Swagger Rite is preparing to blow up in a big way in 2019.
