With clever bars, irresistible pop hooks, and an inspirational message, Vancouver’s SonReal is a superstar in the making. Stringing boasts together over a spritely piano-led beat, SonReal shouts down his haters with an impossibly catchy NSFW chorus on “Repo Man,” his latest video single. In the video, SonReal roams the California desert with a bandana’d companion, repossessing convertibles and ATVs, dancing on top of cars, and generally having a blast. Premiered by Mass Appeal, the video is another in a long line in hilarious and charming music videos from the Canadian artist, which have earned him tens of millions of YouTube views in his young career. Produced by Rush, “Repo Man” is a highlight from One Long Dream, SonReal’s debut album released via Black Box Music.
An infectious and inspiring record with Indian-American singer-songwriter Sid Sriram as the only guest artist, One Long Dream showcases SonReal’s facility with melody, his relatable charisma, and his sense of humor.
