We at Audible Treats stand in solidarity with the protesters across the country who seek justice for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless others. As a company, we are developing a concrete plan of action to combat the deleterious effects of systemic racism and police brutality. Currently, our team members are donating to just causes, marching in the streets, speaking out in public and private, and further educating ourselves about America’s racist past and present so that we are better equipped to call out injustice when we recognize it.
We take our role seriously as a conduit for amplifying voices and stories that tend to be ignored by the mainstream media. As for our day-to-day work of publicizing our artists and their stories, we’re working closely with them to find a balance between their need for artistic expression and their solidarity with the protest movement.
There is strength in numbers. Here is a resource that lists ways you can take action: https://blacklivesmatters.carrd.co/

Project: Smokepurpp – Florida Jit
The Alamo Records Signee Shares a High-Octane New Project, Nabs Jack Harlow for the Animated “Tide Pen” Video
Critical Praise:
XXL Class of 2018 Freshman
“Purpp has caught the ears of everyone from The Weeknd and D.R.A.M. to Chief Keef and Travis Scott, and the 19-year-old rapper is in position for a rapid ascent” – Pigeons & Planes
“If you’ve not been following along, the rise of young Miami rapper SmokePurrp – alongside that of his longtime pal and collaborator Lil Pump – has been one of the more exciting rides in rap’s underground this year” – Noisey
“Out of all the SoundCloud and Florida rappers that have gained floods of attention and acclaim in recent years, Smokepurpp has stood as one of the movement’s strongest proponents and artists.“ – HYPEBEAST
The Project + Video:
With a fierce attitude and an appetite for destruction, Smokepurpp is a defining artist of the South Florida rap scene. Paying tribute to his hometown and returning to his bass-boosted roots, Smokepurpp shares Florida Jit, his new project. Packed with rude bars about Purpp’s expensive tastes and irresponsible lifestyle, Florida Jit delivers 17 tracks of high-octane trap music. The new project boasts several beats from Florida sound architect Ronny J, whose earworm melodies and distorted low-end helped establish the SoundCloud sound, as well as beats from Miami hitmaker Earl On The Beat and standout production from Purpp himself. Throughout the tape, Smokepurpp is a mischievous presence, spinning clipped cadences into hooks on tracks like “Pop Sh*t,” and experimenting with melody on songs like the powerful “Ends” and the chaotic “24s.”
The follow-up to last year’s Deadstar 2, Florida Jit boasts successful singles like “Off My Chest” ft. Lil Pump, which has over 3 milion views on YouTube, and “It’s Whatever,” notable for its creative music video. Earlier this week, Purpp shared “Big Dawg,“ a luxurious collaboration with fellow Floridian Rick Ross. Featuring additional appearances from Denzel Curry, Young Nudy, and Jack Harlow, Florida Jit is available everywhere via Alamo Records.
To accompany the release of the project, Purpp shares “Tide Pen,” a new animated video. Produced by Earl On The Beat, the man behind hits like City Girls’ “Act Up” and Lil Yachty’s “Oprah’s Bank Account,” “Tide Pen” is a flute-laden trap head-nodder, as Purpp and guest rapper Jack Harlow trade bars about their lady-killing ways. Directed and animated by Sam Hotchman, the “Tide Pen” video is a brilliantly-colored fever-dream, taking cues from Mad Max, Minecraft, animé, classic Westerns, and more. Flanked by two beautiful allies, Purpp and Harlow declare war on nefarious forces, as the the animation shifts from hallucinatory computer-generated images to Adult Swim-ready 2D and back.
After releasing Deadstar 2 and its successful singles “What I Please” ft. Denzel Curry (24 million streams on Spotify) and “Dirty Dirty” ft. Lil Skies (approaching 30 million combined streams on YouTube and Spotify) last year, Smokepurpp has kept very busy in a turbulent 2020. He earned his first Grammy nomination this year for his appearance on “Costa Rica,” the Gold-certified track from Revenge Of The Dreamers III. In February, Purpp’s breakout single “Audi” earned a Platinum certification from the RIAA, and his single “Do Not Disturb” went Gold. He’s currently turning heads with his guest spot on UK rapper KSI’s “Poppin’,” which has already generated 40 million streams across platforms.
Earlier this week, Smokepurpp and his apparel company 6 DEAD BATS unveiled the WELCOME TO HELL COLLECTION, a brand new line of Smokepurpp merch. Check Purpp’s Instagram for instructions on how to win items from the new capsule collection.

The Background:
The Chicago-born, Miami-raised rapper and producer Smokepurpp has been one of the cornerstones of Florida’s burgeoning rap scene since the release of his “Ski Mask” video in 2015. The buzz from the video and other singles with close friend Lil Pump culminated in a record deal with Alamo/Interscope Records and Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack Records. The 21-year old Purpp quickly went to work, collaborating with Scott, Yo Gotti, Pump, and more. His debut release, Deadstar, spawned the gold-certified single “Audi” and generated features from The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Pigeons & Planes, XXL, Mass Appeal, and many more. The follow up release, Bless Yo Trap, was a collaboration with Grammy-nominated producer Murda Beatz, boasted the standout single “123” and collaborations with Lil Yachty, Offset, and A$AP Ferg. 2018 has been a banner year for Purpp so far, thanks to his selection on the 2018 XXL Freshman list, the release of “Nephew,” his Gold-certified collaboration with Lil Pump, which has over 100M streams across all platforms, and “I Love It,” the Kanye West and Pump collaboration which Purpp co-wrote and debuted at number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100. After delighting his fans with the Lost Planet EP in April, Purpp closed 2020 out with the highly-anticipated Deadstar 2. Look for his next project, Florida Jit, to arrive in June.
