ATL Rap Innovator Skooly Announces Headlining Dates in Dallas (4/28), Orlando (5/12), and Atlanta (5/14)

4.17.2018

The Announcement + Video:

Flashing an influential mic style and an infectious swag, Atlanta rapper Skooly is one of the unsung heroes of his scene. Capitalizing on his cult status in the south, Skooly announces his first ever solo headlining dates with the Don’t You Ever Forget Me Tour, coming later in April and May. Kicking off in Dallas on April 28th, Skooly’s mini-tour continues in Orlando on May 12th before concluding in his hometown of Atlanta on May 14th. To reward his fans for their faith and support, Skooly will host a series of meet-and-greets over the coming month, including studio visits, lunch dates, and a trip to ATL’s Andretti Go-Karting and Games for some lucky fans who buy tickets to the show and meet-and-greet tickets. To accompany the tour announcement, Skooly shares Really Rich,” his latest music video. Inspired in part by the ’90s movie Blank Check, “Really Rich” finds the rapper running up a check for $1 million, heading to the mall to buy fine clothes, heading to the golf course to work on his swing, and buying a high-end vehicle. A highlight from Don’t You Ever Forget Me Vol. 2Skooly’s new EP, “Really Rich” has over 500,000 streams on Spotify and landed on the streaming service’s Most Necessary playlist. “Really Rich” follows the rowdy, fan-featuring video for FreakHill,” and the conflicted video for Racist.”

A sonic innovator and an architect of Atlanta’s melodic trap renaissance, credited as an influence by Young Thug among others, Skooly’s cultural clout manifested in a shoutout in the season premiere for FX’s hit show Atlanta, starring Donald Glover. Following the complimentary shout out in that popular series, Skooly is ready to make the move from underground hero status to mainstream recognition with his Don’t You Ever Forget Me trilogy. A seven-track dose of radio-ready music, the recently released Vol. 1 features radio-ready jams like Dirty Dawg (Insane)” romantic trap singles like “White Balenciaga,”  and bangers like “Habit,” which features label boss 2 Chainz, and boasts a raucous music video. On Don’t You Ever Forget Me, Skooly gets real about his journey, detailing his years of being one of Atlanta’s most prolific collaborators and finding real ones to ride along the way. Released by 2 Chainz‘s TRU imprint and distributed by EMPIREDon’t You Ever Forget Me Vol. 2 is out now, available to listen to as a joint record with the first EP.

EMPIRE Background:

EMPIRE was founded in 2010 as an artist-friendly, progressive digital distribution company. After early success, and identifying future icons such as Kendrick Lamar, Sage The Gemini, and Rich Homie Quan, EMPIRE was quickly regarded as a tastemaker in the industry and throughout the past five years evolved into a full-fledged record label, distributor and publisher for independent musicians. With the company and roster growing at a breakneck pace, EMPIRE has effectively disrupted a stale business model by bringing its energy, expertise, and acumen to its artists and labels. Given its reputation, EMPIRE works with today’s hottest talent from superstars such as T.I. and red-hot newcomers such as Anderson .Paak. While remaining 100% independent, EMPIRE has also partnered with Atlantic Records for a joint venture, home to breakout star D.R.A.M. and joined forces with Republic Records for the release of Sage The Gemini’s Remember Me album.
