The Song:
As announced via Complex last week, Sir Michael Rocks is preparing to release his long-awaited debut solo album, Banco, on July 29th. Continuing the momentum, the Cool Kids rapper teams up with Noisey this week for the premiere of his latest single, “Bussin,” which features Casey Veggies and Iamsu! Different from the album’s adventurous first single, “Memo,” and the trippy viral video, “Playstation 1.5,” this latest single is trap-induced slapper. The song’s title, “Bussin,” pans from side-to-side as bass rumbles behind hard-hitting 808 drums through a variety of hi-hat rolls and snare hits matched with ambient, spaced-out bells. Joined by Veggies and Su, the rappers weave through the canals of the house party-ready single with charismatic bars, rapping “baby girl fell in love with the whip game/ type of money make a young kid go insane” and “paid dues/ I just rep where I was raised, fool.”
Sir Michael Rocks’ album, Banco, features Too $hort, Mac Miller, Twista, Iamsu, Trinidad James, Casey Veggies, Robb Bank$, Pouya, and Chuck Inglish, with production from DJ Mustard, and showcases Sir Michael at his most inventive. Banco is slated to be released on July 29th with pre-order starting on July 1st, 2014. Sir Michael Rocks also announced via Twitter that The Cool Kids will be ending their hiatus and reuniting to release their highly anticipated album, Shark Week, by the end of the year. This will mark the first album The Cool Kids will have released since their 2011 album When Fish Ride Bicycles. Sir Michael Rocks is also prepping for a multi-city Florida tour alongside Robb Bank$.

Sir Michael Rocks Background:
Sir Michael Rocks has always been a little ahead of his time, a little more original than his peers, a little bit more creative. As a teenager, he started making music under the name Mikey Rocks as one half of groundbreaking duo The Cool Kids. Formed over the Internet and powered by a strong grassroots fanbase online, the group helped redefine the image of rap for the Internet era with an effortlessly cool throwback style and an iconic, laid-back fashion sense. Rechristening himself as Sir Michael Rocks in 2011, the restlessly creative artist, now based in Miami after time spent in Chicago and LA, has been pushing the boundaries of rap originality even further in recent years with a string of popular, critically acclaimed mixtapes. As he explores an increasingly far-ranging set of ideas and prepares his solo debut album, Banco, the lifelong impulse to explore and innovate remains at the forefront of what Rocks is trying to accomplish.
