The Video:
Taking over the L.A. scene with their hard-hitting strain of West Coast party rap, Shoreline Mafia are ready to raise their game in 2020. Bringing their signature wave to the Midwest, Shoreline does that sh*t in Chicago in their new video for “Mind Right.” Produced by L.A. mainstays Ace The Face and Ron-Ron, “Mind Right” is a feather-light dancefloor filler, highlighted by hypnotic keyboards and a standout guest verse from Chicago East Sider Warhol.SS. In the video, Warhol welcomes OhGeesy and Fenix Flexin to his hometown party–the trio crosses the city on the CTA to tag brick buildings and party with groupies. Directed by Lonewolf, who touches up the video with stylish cut-out animation, “Mind Right” is the latest release from Party Pack Vol. 2, Shoreline’s September 2019 EP, which recently surpassed 100 million total streams.
“Mind Right” kicks off what looks to be a busy 2020 for Shoreline Mafia. Last week, OhGeesy lent a standout verse to “Hella Neck,“ the new video single by Carnage, which also features Tyga and Takeoff.
On February 14, Fenix and OhGeesy embark on a short run of shows in the Pacific Northwest, making stops in Boise, Spokane, and Vancouver. In Vancouver, the collective will perform their first headlining slot at a music festival, as they top the bill at Lil Fest at PNE Forum. Tickets are now available at hellawave.com.
A tight nine-pack of West Coast snap, Party Pack Vol. 2 showcases the lived-in chemistry between the collective’s four emcees (Fenix Flexin, OhGeesy, Rob Vicious, Master Kato), as they explore several unique sonic avenues within the collective’s dark and minimalist sound world. The EP boasts the D.A. Doman-produced party anthem “Wings,“ which earned a Complex premiere in October. With production from frequent Shoreline collaborators like Ron-Ron and Ace The Face, the project peaked at #4 on Apple Music, landing six songs on the service’s Top 200 charts. The new EP peaked at #61 on the Billboard 200 and helped propel the collective to the top 50 on Rolling Stone‘s new Artist 500 chart. The collective rides into 2020 on an unstoppable wave of momentum, looking to make a permanent mark on the new decade of hip-hop.
