THE RECAP:

Unique among Rolling Loud festivals for its beachside location, Rolling Loud Portugal is a truly global affair, offering the best in international rap music from both sides of the Atlantic. The final day of Rolling Loud Portugal 2023 was a vibrant celebration of global hip-hop, closing the three-day festival with spectacular flair. The final headliner was Meek Mill, whose motivational anthems lit up the night sky, who followed a star-studded lineup featuring UK stars like Digga DD-Block EuropeTion Wayne, and Unknown T, and American names including Gucci Mane and Ski Mask The Slump God.

In a moment that only could’ve happened at Rolling Loud, streamer/rapper iShowSpeed joined Rolling Loud fixture DJ Scheme onstage to perform their new, Brazilian funk-influenced single “Portuginies,” which finds Speed rapping in a mixture of English and Portuguese.

Following last weekend’s Rolling Loud Rotterdam and preceding the inaugural Rolling Loud Germany, Rolling Loud Portugal is Rolling Loud’s original European festival. Bringing the best and brightest to Portimão, on Portugal’s southern Algarve coast, Rolling Loud Portugal will continue to be a singular festival for years to come.

The Background:

About Rolling Loud

Founded by 6-time Billboard Hip-Hop Power Players Matt Zingler & Tariq Cherif as a one-day Miami show, Rolling Loud has grown into a global phenomenon, hosting festivals on both US coasts and in multiple international locations. Rolling Loud is the premier festival brand in hip-hop, known for its expert curation of wide-ranging lineups that reflect the state of the genre.

2022 was Rolling Loud’s biggest year yet. The festival returned to their home base of Miami for their largest event to date, headlined by Kid Cudi, Kendrick Lamar, and Future, and the inaugural Rolling Loud Portugal, which brought an international array of all-stars to the beaches of Portimåo, Portugal. The festival’s busy 2022 continued with the first ever Rolling Loud Toronto, headlined by Future, WizKid, and Dave, and the third annual Rolling Loud New York, headlined by Nicki Minaj, A$AP Rocky & Future.

In 2023, Rolling Loud expands its empire even further, returning to Los Angeles for Rolling Loud California, debuting Rolling Loud Thailand, its first-ever Asian festival, and staging three European shows including Rolling Loud Portugal, and the inaugural editions of Rolling Loud Rotterdam (NL) and Rolling Loud Germany.
