ROLLING LOUD PARTNERS WITH RAPTV FOR SXSW OFFICIAL SHOWCASE ON MARCH 18-19 AT STUBB’S BBQ

FEATURING DON TOLIVER & SHECK WES, PLUS TODAY’S HOTTEST UP-AND-COMING HIP-HOP ACTS

Hip-Hop Heavyweights Join Forces to Host SXSW’s Premier Rap Showcase

The Announcement:

Rolling Loud and RapTV, two of the world’s preeminent hip-hop brands, are partnering to present a two-day hip-hop music showcase set to take place at 8pm on Friday, March 18, and Saturday, March 19 at the iconic Stubb’s Waller Creek Amphitheater.

Returning to Austin for another set of unforgettable showcases, the hip-hop festival juggernaut Rolling Loud tapped RapTV, the largest hip-hop social media platform, to expand its presence in the Red River Cultural District. The two major brands worked together to create one of the most highly anticipated music events of the 36th annual SXSW.

Known for their availability to curate FOMO-inducing lineups each year, Rolling Loud has done it again, enlisting some of today’s hottest hip-hop acts and most promising newcomers to perform at this year’s pop-up in Austin. Don Toliver and Sheck Wes headline the all-star lineup, which includes other notable performers like Texas’ very own Trae Tha Truth, as well as Ken Car$on, Babyface Ray, Duke Deuce, Jasiah, and Tay Money, plus risers like Mike Dimes, Dro Kenji, Monaleo, and many others, who will help rock the party at SXSW like never before.

“Rolling Loud, RapTV, and SXSW teamed up to create the biggest event of the week,” says Rolling Loud co-founder Tariq Cherif. “We’ve put together a lineup full of artists who we believe are next up. Fans who attend our showcase are in for a treat, getting to witness these artists perform in an intimate setting before they blow up to the stratosphere.”

RapTV will be onsite throughout the weekend event to share behind-the-scenes content and exclusive news delivered in real-time straight from the heart of the Live Music Capital of the World. Fans should make sure to follow both RapTV and Rolling Loud on Instagram for the latest news and announcements about the showcase.

“With this SXSW showcase, RapTV is now entering a new chapter as a next-gen media organization, entertainment brand, and arbiter of hip-hop culture. What better way to celebrate this growth than by partnering with Rolling Loud, the biggest hip-hop festival producers in the world, to create the premier rap showcase during all of SXSW,” said RapTV’s Chief Operating Officer David Kantanka. “So often in music, especially in hip-hop, colleagues become competitors but this special event is a testament to the powers of collaboration, hard work and determination. With the combination of our Rolling Loud and RapTV teams, hip-hop fans better buckle up for two unforgettable nights in Austin.”

Sponsors of the inaugural RapTV Presents Rolling Loud SXSW Edition include Facebook’s Meta and BARS, their latest app available today for free download on the App Store, plus other big names. Stay tuned for more details surrounding the overall fan experience including sponsorship activations, daily set times, surprise giveaways, and more.

For fans looking to join in on the festivities, a select number of tickets will be available exclusively for those with SXSW music and platinum badge holders, as well as SXSW Music Festival wristband holders. To purchase and learn more about official passes being made available to the weeklong, citywide conference, fans can visit www.sxsw.com/attend.  A limited number of $10 general admission tickets will be available at the door for fans without SXSW badges.

In addition to the showcase, Rolling Loud co-founder Tariq Cherif will participate in a panel entitled Artists, Stop Trying To Get Booked, offering real talk about the business of live hip-hop. In this discussion, moderated by Jacques Morel, Tariq Cherif, Caroline “Baroline” Diaz, and Rob Gibbs aim to shift the question away from “how to get booked,” to “how to become an act that talent buyers can’t resist booking.” They will explore the metrics and methods that major stages use to determine the value and appeal of touring artists, and how to improve these for yourself, or for your clients. Join us and you might even get gifted Rolling Loud Tickets from Tariq himself.

Stay tuned for more news from the Rolling Loud and RapTV teams as they plan their hip-hop takeover of SXSW.

The Background:

Founded by Matt Zingler & Tariq Cherif as a one-day Miami show, Rolling Loud has grown into a global festival phenomenon, putting on shows on both coasts and in multiple countries. Rolling Loud is the premier festival brand in hip-hop, known for its expert curation of wide-ranging lineups that reflect the state of the genre.

The festival returned from a 18-month hiatus on July 23rd-25th, with the sold out Rolling Loud Miami 2021, its biggest event yet, bringing in over 85,000 fans per day to Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, FL. With headliners like Post Malone and A$AP Rocky, Rolling Loud Miami 2021 was a triumphant return for live rap music, and a coming out party for risers and new superstars eager to play in front of a festival crowd. Rolling Loud Miami kicked off a massive year for the festival brand, arriving ahead of Rolling Loud New York 2021, and Rolling Loud California, headlined by J. Cole, Kid Cudi, and Future.

During the pandemic, Rolling Loud expanded into much more than just a live festival company. With no in-person show possibilities in sight, Rolling Loud pivoted to become a heavy-hitter in the world of Livestreaming, drawing millions of unique viewers and landing multiple events in Pollstar’s Year-End Livestream Chart. In June 2021, Rolling Loud launched Rolling Loud Presents, their first venture into tour promotions, taking the Rolling Loud experience on the road with a series of tours headlined by some of the biggest stars in hip-hop, including Rod Wave, Trippie Redd, Jack Harlow, and more to be announced.
