Dominated by plaintive piano chords, “Jan2Jan” is an ideal canvas for Rod’s unique vocal talent, as he twists and stretches syllables in his gruff baritone, crooning one bar and rapping double time on the next. Shot in a single take, the video for “Jan2Jan” follows an inmate in an abusive mental asylum as she attempts to escape, dancing her way through the drab halls and passing a captive Rod Wave in the basement before eventually being apprehended. Hosted on the KONCREATE YouTube channel, “Jan2Jan” is a highlight from Hunger Games 2, his buzzing project released in May 2018.
