Ripp Flamez Announces DayOne Forever, Shares “Wavez”

Cleveland rapper/singer Ripp Flamez built an organic, devoted fanbase in his hometown. With his new project, DayOne Forever, he looks to bring his infectious melodicism and confessional lyrics to a national audience. WorldStarHipHop premiered the video for “Wavez,” a single from the project with more than 230K SoundCloud plays. In the video for “Wavez,” Ripp Flamez vacations in a coastal paradise and relaxes on the beach with a flame of his own. The track’s airy synths and insistent percussion pair perfectly with the 25-year-old emcees lilting West Coast-inspired melodies, providing an ideal soundtrack for the fast-approaching summer.

Born in the Garden Valley Projects, one of Cleveland’s roughest areas, Ripp Flamez found himself alone after his father died and his brother got locked up. Flamez channels his struggle and brings his experience to life through his rhymes. In 2014, Flamez released project, DayOne, which took off in Cleveland behind the success of “Morning After,” his single with P The Artist. “Some artists may have content and substance and others may just have melodies, rhythm, and good production,” explains Ripp Flamez. “I have both, along with a unique voice and an organic fan base.” In 2015, the Ohio Hip-Hop Awardsnamed him Best New Artist.

Ripp Flamez hopes that DayOne Forever will ride the wave of his buzzing recent singles. In March, he released the video for “Payback,” featuring BFA Bleed, which accumulated over 50,000 views on YouTube and over 123,000 plays on SoundCloud. Last month, the rapper released “Shine Light,” which has been played more than 70,000 times, on his SoundCloud. Ripp Flamez hopes to win even more fans with DayOne Forever, releasing this Summer.
