“With “My Brothers,” Ralo shows the full range of his improvements since his last project, displaying a new mastery of his own flow that should be enough evidence of his potential star power.” – Noisey
The Song:
A rising young artist and a respected hustler on the Atlanta streets, Ralo has the trap game on lock. Flexing his helium-pitched flow over a haunting trap instrumental, Ralo fights for survival on “I Hope It Don’t Jam,” his latest single. Premiered by Noisey, “I Hope It Don’t Jam” boasts a menacing hook and typically intense verse from 21 Savage, and a high-energy guest appearance from D.C.-raised barker Jefé (formerly Shy Glizzy). Another paranoid banger from the FamGoon general, “I Hope It Don’t Jam” is the latest single from Ralo’s upcoming Famerican Gangster 2, following the Gucci Mane-featured, FADER-premiered “They Can’t Stop Us,” and “Young N*gga,” which boasts appearances from Young Thug, Lil Yachty, and Lil Uzi Vert and garnered over 109,000 plays on SoundCloud since its debut last week.
Born and raised in The Bluff, a notoriously dangerous neighborhood in West Atlanta recently featured in the film Snow On the Bluff, Ralo (neé Terrell Davis) provided for his family at a young age, selling CDs and DVDs on the streets while honing his rap skills. After gaining notoriety in the Atlanta trap scene working with artists such as Future and Young Scooter, Ralo founded #Famerican, a music movement and community foundation under his direction. Ralo represents a more conscious and empathetic take on trap music, balancing street tales with a deep sense of morality.
The sequel to 2015’s Famerican Gangster, Ralo’s introduction to the music industry, Famerican Gangster 2 is the direct follow up to last year’s accomplished Diary of the Streets II, which Ralo revisited in January with the Billboard-premiered video for “My Brothers,” featuring Future. Featuring Gucci Mane, Young Thug, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Yachty, 21 Savage, Birdman, YFN Lucci,Jefé (fka Shy Glizzy) and RT Skool Boi and production from Zaytoven, Goose, Cassius Jay, Ricky Racks, Frank Forbes, and more, Famerican Gangster 2, out February 12th, is one of the biggest trap events of the year.
