Hare Squead Announce the Superweird EP, Arriving March 20th via Independently Popular
The Dublin Duo Head to Berlin Give a Dynamic Performance of EP Single “Minor Gangsters (Gully)” on COLORS
Superweird EP artwork
Critical Praise:
“Hare Squead are pioneers of a creative boom taking place in Dublin… They have Ed Sheeran’s business savvy, compositional expertise , plus chiselled jaws and puppyish enthusiasm.”– The Guardian
“Blending hip-hop, soul and pop in a way that feels both soothing and full of energy, the results carry some heavy Chance the Rapper and De La Soul vibes with a distinctly Irish twist.” – Noisey
“With a name as unique as Hare Squead, their sound is just as special.” – XXL
“There’s no denying the group’s ascension; in Dublin, Ireland—a city only now becoming known for its hip-hop—Hare Squead is becoming one of its most recognizable acts.” – Pitchfork
The Announcement:
Leading a creative wave in their hometown of Dublin, Ireland, hip-hop duo Hare Squead specialize in eccentric and infectiously melodic rap jams. Capitalizing on a year’s-worth of momentum created by a string of quality singles and videos, Hare Squead announces Superweird EP, their upcoming project. Switching effortlessly between off-kilter melodies and lightning-quick rhymes, duo members Tony Konstone and Lilo Blues are masters of mutating their voices into strangely catchy hooks. Channeling their wildest impulses into an inventive 7-tracker, the new project collects previous singles like the boom-bap kiss-off “Minor Gangsters (Gully),” the electronic-influenced lust letter “Baeboo,” and the introspective “Meeting With Myself.” The sequel to 2018’s Supernormal EP, the Superweird EP pairs the acclaimed pre-release tracks with new highlights like the bubbly “Like I’m Barack” and the bass-heavy “Trenches.” The EP features appearances from Jay Prince and Peter Xan, and releases on March 20th via Independently Popular.
Along with the EP, Hare Squead partners with COLORSXSTUDIOSto share a brand new performance of “Minor Gangsters (Gully).” Released in January and listed on Spotify playlists like POLLEN and New Music Friday, “Minor Gangsters” claps back at racist UK politician Rory Stewart, who called them “minor gangsters” during a man-on-the-street interview. The song flips the phrase and gives it a new power, as the duo proves there’s nothing “minor” about the way they handle their business. In the COLORS performance, Lilo and Tony perform the boom-bap banger in front of a vibrant backdrop (today’s colors: cutty sark and gun powder), expressively enacting the rebellious spirit of the song’s lyrics.
Hare Squead recently returned from the “Minor Gangsters Tour,” which took the duo across Western Europe, with stops in Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris, London, and the duo’s hometown of Dublin. On the tour, they played Superweird highlights, singles like 2019’s “100 Miles“ (1.2 million Spotify streams) and the Clash Magazine-premiered “Petty (ft. Shauna Shadae & Wusu),” and older highlights like “Herside Story,” a 2017 single, featuring Goldlink on the remix, which has over 65 million streams on Spotify alone. With over 1.1 million monthly listeners on Spotify, Hare Squead is just getting started in their quest to bring their “superweird” sound to the masses.
Way beyond, across the pond, Hare Squead are quickly making a name for themselves. Hip-Hop and Ireland may seem like two points on opposite ends of the spectrum but the now-band of two, comprised of Tony Konstone and Lilo Blues, are imprinted within both worlds and look at themselves as more than just an anomaly. In 2016, the group found success outside of their local scene with “Long Way to Go” and took advantage of that by dropping their Supernormal EP. The standout single off the EP, “Herside Story,” quickly became a favorite, which led to Goldlink including a remix of the group’s song on his At What Cost album in 2017. Combined, “Herside Story” has amassed over 40 million streams on Spotify to-date. Also in 2017, the group released two acclaimed singles “Flowers” and “Pure,” which earned more than 5 million combined streams on Spotify alone. However, as success builds, unexpected turns can arise to derail everything. After an 18-month absence from the spotlight, in February 2019, Hare Squead made their return with “100 Miles,” a bubbly, guitar-driven single that was inspired by the emotional vulnerability of Aretha Franklin’s “I Say a Little Prayer.” The group plans to release two EPs in 2020 and re-introduce themselves to the world as a formidable talent.

Quickly earning a reputation as a teen idol, Cali 16-year-old singer/rapper Suigeneris can afford to be choosy. Echoing well-known TLC classic “No Scrubs” (recorded before Suie was born!), the EMPIRE signee shares “Scrubs,” a new single. Weaving his way through a snaking guitar chord progression evocative of the original track, Suie tunefully warns hangers-on that he’s not interested in love: “Know these hoes ain’t sh*t so I don’t catch feelins/I only catch flights, drippin’ in these Raf Simons.” The new song features an appearance from fellow Cali rapper Yung Pinch, who brings his beach vibes to the party for a standout verse. “Scrubs” is the latest single from Demons N Angels, Suie’s upcoming double EP, releasing this Friday via Devilgear Records / EMPIRE.
A double-EP divided by sound and concept, Demons N Angels is a testament to Suie’s versatility–the Demons half of the project showcases Suie’s rapping skills and impish charm, while the Angels half expands his sound into the worlds of pop and R&B. Along with recent single “Faithful” ft. Luh Kel (117k streams on Spotify), “Scrubs” will appear on the project’s Angels half, while other standouts like the the raucous and goofily charming “Brown Justin Bieber,” and earlier single “NINTENDO” highlight the project’s Demons half.
Building a monthly-listenership of over 340k before he even could legally drive, Suigeneris enjoyed a breakout year in 2019. After earning a co-sign from Lil Skies and opening on tour for Landon Cube, Suie released his project Suinami, which has over 20 million streams across all platforms and offers features from NLE Choppa, TJ Porter, and Daddex. The follow-up to The Cheat Code, Suie’s 2018 debut project, Suinami hosts the single “Lucifer,” which has over 3 million combined streams on Spotify and YouTube. Following the album, Suie joined Tory Lanez and TJ Porter on the bubbling “Familiar,” a new song by Suie’s frequent producer/collaborator CitoOnTheBeat.
Introduced to hip-hop by his brothers, Suigeneris experienced his first taste of success at the young age of 13, when his video “Pull Up” caught fire in the Bay Area to the tune of 1.6 million YouTube views. Since then, Suie’s career trended ever upward. “Pull Up” caught the ear of Landon Cube, who brought Suie on as an opening act for his tour. Through Cube, Suie met Lil Skies, who appreciated Suie’s melodic mastery enough to collaborate with him on “Now” (6.2 million Spotify streams, 3.6 million YT views). His 2019 mixtape Suinami earned more than 15 million streams on Spotify alone, and 20 million across all platforms. Now 16, and with over 340k monthly listeners on Spotify, Suie is preparing to release Demons N Angels, a double EP that comments on his dual nature–Romeo and Damien, singer and rapper.

The GOLD-Certified Only The Family/EMPIRE Signee’s New Project Features Rising Hit “Took Her To The O” (12 Million+ Total Streams) and Brand New G Herbo-Featuring Video Single “On Yo A**”
Critical Praise:
“King Von’s original ‘Crazy Story’ is the kind of thing hip-hop heads should crave: an immediate and distinct piece of cinematic rap that makes time for flirting and gangbanging all in one ferocious verse. The Chicago rapper details an attack on an opp that keeps you engrossed all the way to the very end” – The 405
“King Von’s incredibly vivid story-telling rhymes have propelled him to the forefront of Chicago drill rap.” – The FADER
“King Von excels in using his storytelling as a device to portray the struggle of growing up in Chicago.” – Pitchfork
The Project + Video:
With his thrilling sense of drama and demonic mic presence, it’s impossible to sit still while listening to King Von. Leveling up with a new collection of street stories and war cries, the Chicago rising star shares LeVon James, his new project. With a title that alludes to Von’s G.O.A.T. aspirations and a cover that pays homage to LeBron James’s pre-game chalk ritual, LeVon James is a fierce and invigorating listen, painting a vivid picture of Chicago chaos atop glistening instrumentals from Von’s frequent collaborator Chopsquad DJ, among others.
Following up 2019’s successful Grandson Vol. 1 (over 350 million total streams), the new project reaffirms the Only The Family rapper’s rep as one of the game’s best storytellers–he packs detail and wit into his edge-of-seat rhymes without losing his expert sense of time and place–and expands his box of tools to include melodic rave-ups like “Hella Glocks,” and romantic rap ballads like “Trust Issues.“ Featuring two appearances from Von’s OTF label head Lil Durk, along with an array of the biggest names in street rap, including G Herbo, YNW Melly, NLE Choppa, Tee Grizzley, Yungeen Ace, and OTF artist Booka600, LeVon James is available to stream everywhere via Only The Family/EMPIRE.
Along with the project, Von makes mischief in the new video for project highlight “On Yo A**.“ A banger with a hyperactive beat from Chopsquad DJ, who layers video game synths and satanic choirs atop rollicking 808s, “On Yo A**” finds an ultra-confident Von stalks his city streets like a slasher-movie monster, warning all steppers that he’s not one to be trifled with: “Ooh sh*t, I’m on you m********** a**/Come outside, I’ll make you m********** grass/You still in school? I’m in your m********** class!” The song features a gruff guest appearance from G Herbo, currently touring with Von on his PTSD Tour.
In the high school-set video, directed by CrownSoHeavy, Von plays a student who stands up to oppressive jocks, as G Herbo plays the principal, delivering his verse over the P.A. system. “On Yo A**” is the second video from LeVon James, following the breakout hit “Took Her To The O”–with a video that finds Von telling one of his trademark Crazy Stories, the new song racked up over NUMBER combined streams since its February 21 release.
Von is on the road supporting Herbo on the “PTSD Tour,” a nationwide tour that is currently underway. With a stop tonight in North Carolina, the 28-date tour passes through Atlanta (Tabernacle) on March 11th, and Joliet, IL (The Forge) on April 3rd before wrapping up in Cleveland (House of Blues) on April 7th. The tour is an excellent showcase for Von’s hectic live show, featuring performances of tracks from LeVon James and Grandson Vol. 1–including his Gold-certified breakout hit “Crazy Story.“ Tickets for the “PTSD Tour” are available at GHerbo.com.
The Background:
King Von was born in the South Side of Chicago, growing up in O Block, the area that produced Chief Keef. After rightfully beating an erroneous murder charge that could have put him away for life, King Von took inspiration from heroes like Lil Wayne and turned to rapping, linking up with Lil Durk who signed him to his OTF label. Within six months, Von had a series of viral hits, including the sinister “Problems,” which has over 3.4 million views after its debut on Lil Durk’s YouTube channel, and the defiant “War Wit Us,” which has over 3.8 million YouTube views. With “Crazy Story” currently burning up urban radio (it recently reached #76 on the nationwide chart), Von seems to be on the fast track to translate his fervent local following into national fame.

Leading a wave of melodic Chicago rappers, Lil Durk is proud to put on a generation of honest and emotional rap songwriters with his Only The Family label. Making his case to be the next South Side star, recent OTF signee MK shares “Better,” his new video. Over a glistening piano-led instrumental from Yenn Beats, MK seeks to separate himself from his peers, tunefully touting his superior skills and long bankroll: “I’m tryna shine, this is the beginning/Being rich on a island, that’s how I’ll be ending/Me and you not the same, n****, I’m different/I don’t carry little change, n****, I carry Benjamins.” In the video, directed by Young Will, MK stunts in the South Side, spending bands at a jewelry store, mobbing on the block, and having a CGI-aided conversation with himself. “Better” is a highlight track from Family Over Everything, OTF’s December 2019 mixtape, which showcased the talents of the whole crew.

The Alamo Records Signee Connects with Rising Producer Pyrex Whippa for a Luxurious 12-Track; the Zone 6 Native Teams Up With Lil Keed and Lil Gotit for “Shut Up” Video
The Project + Video:
Stacking racks on racks and perfecting his unique flow, Yung Mal prepares to take over the trap game. Taking a major step on his ladder to stardom, Mal shares 6 Rings, his new project. Created in collaboration with rising producer Pyrex Whippa, 6 Rings is an excellent showcase for Mal’s effortlessly intricate rhymes, which weave within swinging hi-hats and entrancing flute loops. The 24-year-old rapper is an expert at finding unique rhythmic pockets within the beat, frequently messing with listener’s expectations of meter and the bar line: “Rockin’ two chains and I got on versace/Coupe got two seats, so I ride with the choppa,” spits Mal on choice cut “Exotic.”
A favorite of the new generation of Southern rappers (DaBaby, Young Thug, Offset, Lil Gotit, Dreamville), the Baltimore-born Pyrex is a perfect fit for Mal’s style, offering a diverse variety woozy trap instrumentals on which the young rapper can perfect his flexes. Featuring appearances from Lil Keed, Lil Gotit, Doe Boy, and Mal’s frequent rap partner Lil Quill, 6 Rings is available to stream everywherevia Alamo Records.
Along with the new project, Mal shares the video for 6 Rings standout “Shut Up.” The new track boasts one of Pyrex’s best beats, combining ascending woodwind samples and subterranean bass–it’s a triumphant fanfare, proclaiming Mal and guest rappers Lil Keed and Lil Gotit as the new kings of Atlanta trap. The three rappers take turns attacking the beat in their complementary styles, Mal’s hushed pitter-patter grounding Gotit and Keed’s abstract flights of fancy. In the video, directed by Diesel Films, the three emcees gather in an abandoned basketball court, mobbing to the music with a crew of Zone 6’s realest residents. “Shut Up” follows the stylish video for 6 Rings highlight “Blake Griffin,” a snarling collaboration with Freebandz rapper Doe Boy.
6 Rings is Yung Mal’s first full-length project since last summer’s release of Iceburg, his debut solo mixtape. The mixtape hosted a long line of successful singles, including the Gunna-featuring “War“ (612k views), the Gucci Mane-featuring, Complex-premiered “Fresh”, and the exotic slapper “Action,” featuring Lil GotIt, produced by Pi’erre Bourne, and premiered by HYPEBEAST. More recently, Mal dropped a line of fiery video singles, including “Dollar Signs,” “Juggernaut,“ the “Numbers (Remix)“ ft. Stunna 4 Vegas, and last week’s “Bachelor.“ With 6 Rings, Mal looks to kickstart a breakout year and propel himself into ATL’s A-list..
The Rapper Behind Urban Radio Hit “9 Times Out Of 10” Shares an Emotional Video for a Personal Problems Highlight
Critical Praise:
“In a very unforgiving and fast moving musical context, Havi proves he can go toe to toe with the best of his rap contemporaries and likely stick around too.” – EARMILK
“Big Havi’s authenticity is helping him garner a reputation as one of Hip Hop’s most promising emerging voices” – REVOLT
“The ‘9 Times Out Of 10’ rapper is poised to be Atlanta’s next star.” – ELEVATOR
“Big Havi’s got a way of latching onto the beat and making any track an earworm” – HipHopSince1987
The Video:
Big Havi‘s music might sound effortlessly catchy, but the ATL artist uses earworm-y trap jams to delve into heavy situations. An inspirational anthem that touches on addiction, poverty, and P.T.S.D., Havi’s “Narcotix” is an ideal example of his honey-voiced street gospel. Directed by Qasquiat (Lil Uzi Vert, Roddy Ricch, Smoove L), the “Narcotix” video is an intimate and eye-catching video that perfectly suits the song’s subject matter. The bulk of the video is shot in close-up, alternating focus on Havi’s expressive face and another figure, fraught with doubt and struggling with addiction. Filmed with neon-lit special effects, the video draws parallels between the addict’s attempts to break free of drugs and Havi’s need to escape his neighborhood. “Narcotix” is a highlight track from Personal Problems, Havi’s recently released debut project.
Home to the heatseeking single “9 Times Out Of 10,“ which features a verse from Lil Baby, combines Havi’s tuneful style with emotional lyricism, as the young rapper opens up about his past struggles and his desire to reach G.O.A.T. status in the rap game. The project boasts highlights like the immersive trap ballad “Love Gone,” the bouncy, country-fried “808s,” and mission statement opening track “Grimey As Eva.” Featuring an additional appearance from Derez De’Shon, Personal Problems releases via Commission Records
With over 10 million streams across platforms, including over 7 million views on its YouTube video since December 17th, “9 Times Out Of 10” is quickly transitioning from a local smash into a national concern. In January, BET featured Big Havi on “#FreshFaceFriday,” putting the “9 Times Out Of 10” video into regular rotation.
Big Havi is currently supporting Lil Tjay on his “True To Myself Tour,” a nationwide tour that spanned 22-dates. You can catch Big Havi live on March 5th, when Havi plays a hometown show in Atlanta at the Buckhead Theatre. Tickets are available for sale at Lil Tjay’s official site.

6. I Pray

8. Personal Problems (feat. Derez De’Shon)
The young rapper born Javier Hardeman combines tuneful rhymes and an effortless flow about personal hardships and future aspirations. His relatable lyrics are what set him apart as a rising new star in an always crowded Atlanta rap scene. After a major label bidding war, Big Havi decided to take the indie route, signing with independent powerhouse Commission Records (MadeinTYO, Lil Dicky, Derez De’shon, Casey Veggies, IDK). On the heels of his hot new single “9 Times Out Of 10” continues to rise up urban radio charts, Havi shared his debut project Personal Problems on February 7th. The Paper Route EMPIRE Duo Re-Visit Dum & Dummer As They Continue Their Joint “No Rules Tour”
The Video:
Young Dolph and Key Glock have the charisma of rock stars and an appetite to match. Taking their taste for the finer things across the Atlantic, the Paper Route EMPIRE heavy-hitters share “1 Hell Of A Life,” their new video. The new clip finds Dolph & Glock living large in Amsterdam, kicking it with models in five-star hotels and enjoying a scenic ride through the city’s canals. The video features a prominent cameo from Bandplay, the track’s producer, who lays down the song’s entrancing guitar riff without breaking a sweat. “1 Hell Of A Life” is a highlight track from Dum & Dummer, the Billboard Top 10-peaking 2019 joint album from the two Memphis-born artists.

Murder Weapon Features Contributions From the Late California Legend’s Closest Collaborators and Other Rap Luminaries; Video for Closing Track “Ask God” Out Now
Critical Praise:
“Oakland rapper the Jacka’s new album suggests he should be recognized as one of the last decade’s strongest writers—both within and outside of hip-hop. He makes accessible music that could easily appeal to a wide audience, but What Happened to the World will most readily reach those who still value hip-hop as an art form of evocative lyricism.” – Pitchfork
“It was his talent for writing about the West Coast thug life with unflinching honesty, and a slightly wheezy, yet magnetic, voice, that made him a beloved artist.” – Rolling Stone
“Staunchly independent with commercial highlights in spite of that independence, The Jacka was regionally revered while remaining lightly indifferent to local trends. Throughout his voluminous discography, The Jacka regaled listeners with saccharine chorus hooks, while his wheezy yet stern flow dispatched nuanced, panoramic hustler scenes. Gangsta narratives were tempered by deep empathy — in this regard, The Jacka was an heir to 2Pac.” – East Bay Express
“One of the Bay Area’s most respected lyricists, The Jacka gave voice to the complexities and contradictions of following a spiritual path while doing what it took to survive.” – KQED
The Album + Video:
Known for his detail-rich pen and strong moral center, Bay Area artist the Jacka is dearly missed by the hip-hop community. Today, the Jacka’s spirit returns with Murder Weapon, the late legend’s new posthumous album. The finished version of the album the artist was working on before his passing, Murder Weapon executes the Jacka’s original artistic vision, compiling dozens of unreleased verses and keeping the original instrumentals whenever possible. A celebration of the Jacka’s legacy, the new album was lovingly completed by many of his closest friends, including Husalah, Rydah J. Klyde,& FedX of his Mob Figaz crew, and frequent behind-the-boards collaborators like RobLo, Maki, DJ Child, Lev, and AK.
Coming at the tail end of Jack History Month, the album features new guest verses from a long list of notable names from across the rap spectrum. Murder Weapon is home to “Can’t Go Home,” a soulful collaboration with Freddie Gibbs, which earned coverage in Pitchfork, HotNewHipHop, and more, and recent single “Take Over The World,” a heart-wrenching and hopeful song that dwells on Jack’s lifelong struggles. The album also boasts new highlights like the Curren$y and Berner collab “Live It Up,” the conspiratorial “Ancient Astronaut,” featuring Killah Priest, and the night-driving anthem “We Outside.” Featuring additional appearances from Styles P, Paul Wall, Cormega, and more, Murder Weapon arrives via The Artist Records / EMPIRE.
Along with the album, the Jacka’s team shares “Ask God,” a brand new music video for the album’s closing track. A glistening anthem with a dancehall-influenced bounce in the verses, “Ask God” is a testament to the late artist’s versatility, mixing a two-beat cadence with gentle melodies over the mutating instrumental. The upbeat instrumental belies the song’s dark subject matter, which touches on the struggle to succeed amidst rising violence in the streets–the eerie lyrics find the Jacka pondering his mortality, while secure in the lasting nature of his legacy: “You came/To see me perform in a place where most ain’t safe/But we still had fun/Cause I can remember/I know you remember/The gangstas/forever.”
Originally filmed in 2014, the video is one of the final finished videos that the Jacka filmed before he passed. Directed by Suj and filmed in a studio in Oakland, the video emphasizes the celebratory and danceable aspects of the song, as Jacka mobs with some beautiful women and a crew of his close friends, including Mob Figaz members Husalah and FedX and other Bay Area figures like Lil Blood. The video stresses the Jacka’s importance to Bay Area rap, and is an emotional reminder of the huge hole that remains in the scene since his passing.

Shaheed Akbar, a.k.a. The Jacka (1977-2015), was a foundational figure in the Bay Area rap scene. A member of the legendary crew The Mob Figaz, he built a cult following in the Bay Area with releases such as The Jack Artist (2005) and Tear Gas (2009), which peaked at #93 on the Billboard 200. Known for his street wisdom and deep spirituality, The Jacka remained prolific throughout the 2010s, collaborating with the likes of Freeway, Berner, Andre Nickatina, and Ampichino on full-length albums, and releasing several acclaimed albums on his own. In 2015, The Jacka was assassinated by an unknown gunman, but his memory lives on through the love of his neighborhood and through the many tributes paid by his fellow rappers. Now, five years after his passing, The Jacka’s team will release Murder Weapon, a brand new album with appearances from the likes of Freddie Gibbs, Curren$y, Berner, and his Mob Figaz associates, due February 28th.

The 16-Year Old Rapper/Singer Shares the Latest Release From His Upcoming Demons N Angels Double EP
Critical Praise:
“Suigeneris is a living testament of the old adage, “Age ain’t nothing but a number.” – XXL
The Song:
With a rabid fanbase and a diverse skill set, Bay Area artist Suigeneris is one of the rap game’s most talented teenagers. Flashing his romantic side with a club-ready new single, Suigeneris shares “Faithful.” Teaming up with St. Louis native Luh Kel, another rising teenaged artist who blurs the line between rhyming and singing, Suie shows off his pipes atop afro-flavored percussion on “Faithful,” as he asks his beloved to quit playing games with his heart: “I can’t be faithful/I know you’re feeding me lies/I’m just afraid to/So tell me what you want.” The new single is the latest step in Suie’s evolution from prodigy to romantic lead, demonstrating a maturity that belies his 16 years. The glistening “Faithful” follows the raucous and goofily charming “Brown Justin Bieber,” which cheekily comments on Suie’s Mexican-American heritage.
“Faithful” and “Brown Justin Bieber” will both appear on Demons N Angels, Suie’s upcoming project. A double-EP divided by sound and concept, Demons N Angels is a testament to Suie’s versatility–the Demons half of the project showcases Suie’s rapping skills and impish charm, while the Angels half expands his sound into the worlds of pop and R&B. The 16-track Demons N Angels project is set to release March 6th, via EMPIRE.
Bulding a monthly-listenership of over 300k before he even could legally drive, Suigeneris enjoyed a breakout year in 2019.
“[wifisfuneral] displays an impressive array of verbal acrobatics, showing off masterful breath control and a rapid fire flow.” – Pitchfork
“He’s synthesized the regionless, borderless world of the internet age from which he takes his name, while lacing it with a narcotically addictive flow and a distinct ear for melody that’s allowed him to develop while others stagnate.” – NOISEY
“The young rapper has a wide range of skills, from agile raps and bass-heavy tracks to dark and moody slow-burners, and his unpredictability is part of his appeal” – Pigeons & Planes
The Video:
Applying his technical rapping expertise to songs about addiction and mental health, wifisfuneral has lived through multiple lifetimes of adversity in his 22 years. Throwing his hands up in response to life’s senseless brutality, wifi shares “idk,” his latest single. Created with the help of wifi’s frequent collaborator Cris Dinero, who creates a hyperactive beat to match the track’s paranoid energy, “idk” is a furious and frenzied rundown of wifi’s recent troubles. Wielding a dexterous double-time flow, the Alamo Records signee lashes out at those giving him trouble: “When it’s war, we don’t stop/We gon’ come for your kin.”
“idk” is wifi’s first new song since the release of EV3RYTHING SUCKS, wifi’s December 2019 EP. A 7-track collection of cerebral rap gems, EV3RYTHING SUCKS is the third installment in the Ethernet series, following 2018’s standout Ethernet Vol. 1mixtape and last summer’s Ethernet 2EP. is home to several quality video singles, including the YBN Nahmir-featuring “Peace Sign,” the Ratchet Roach co-starring “It’s A Bird! It’s A Plane!,” the colorful “Split,” the symbolic “What You Made Me,” and the ruminative, single-verse “All Bones.” Featuring production from NVBEEL, GRiMM Doza, and Cxdy (of Internet Money), E3 is available everywherevia Alamo Records.
Earlier this year, wifi teamed up with veteran rock band Buckcherry to update their 2006 hit “Crazy B*tch,” and “Beretta,” his collaboration with rising Florida rhymer $not, racked up over 7 million streams on Spotify.
The Background:
22-year-old South Florida rapper wifisfuneral has taken his dark sonics, mature-beyond-his-years lyrics, and trunk rattling bass from the streets of Palm Beach to the world, amassing over 1.7 million monthly listeners on Spotify and over 700,000 followers on various social media platforms. wifisfuneral’s growth has been organic and cult-like, with his fans spreading his music like wildfire with each and every release. With virtually zero promotion other than his social media presence, wifisfuneral’s independent projects Black Heart Revenge (May 27th, 2016) and When Hell Falls (January 27, 2017) reached #69 and #17 on the iTunes hip-hop charts respectively, resulting in a label deal with Alamo and Interscope Records. His major label debut mixtape, Boy Who Cried Wolf, received critical acclaim, with two of the tracks earning placement in the Spotify’s coveted Most Necessary playlist. His latest mixtape, Ethernet, was released in June 2018 via Alamo Records. In 2018, wifisfuneral was officially named to the XXL Freshman List and reached #1 on YouTube’s trending chart. In 2019, wifi headlined two nationwide tours, released two follow-up EPs to Ethernet, and collaborated with Robb Bank$ on the Conn3ct3d project.
Yung Mal Announces 6 Rings Project, a Collaboration with Rising Producer Pyrex Whippa, Arriving on March 5th via Alamo Records
The ATL Upstart Joins Forces with Doe Boy For the Slick Black-And-White Video for Lead Single “Blake Griffin”
The Announcement:
Bursting out of East Atlanta with one of his city’s freshest flows, Yung Mal is on the fast track to stardom. Teaming up with producer Pyrex Whippa, another rising star in the trap scene, Yung Mal announces 6 Rings, his next project. The upcoming tape showcases Mal’s effortlessly intricate rhymes–the 24-year-old rapper is an expert at finding unique rhythmic pockets within the beat, frequently messing with listener’s expectations of meter and the bar line. A favorite of the new generation of Southern rappers (DaBaby, Offset Lil Gotit, Dreamville), the Baltimore-born Pyrex is a perfect fit for Mal’s style, offering a diverse variety woozy trap instrumentals on which the young rapper can perfect his flexes. Featuring appearances from Lil Keed, Lil Gotit, Doe Boy, and more, 6 Rings arrives on March 5th via Alamo Records.
To accompany the announcement of the tape, Mal shares “Blake Griffin,” the project’s first video single. A bouncy, hypnotic, piano-laden trap single named after the superstar Detroit Pistons forward, “Blake Griffin” is an ode to Mal’s flashy approach to flexin’–bands fly out of his bank account as fast as they’re deposited: “Racks stackin’, sh*t just pilin’/Don’t got no stylist/Drip for real like Thousand Islands/And my diamonds, they may blind you/Shooters in front, got some behind me.” The single features an appearance from Doe Boy, the FBG-affiliated Cleveland native, who contrasts Mal’s hushed boasts with a snarling, unhinged verse of his own: “You rockin designer from last year?/That sh*t played out!” In the video, Mal and Doe Boy ball out in black-and-white (director Motion Picture Sh*t adds a touch of color), strutting their stuff in front of a basketball hoop and a police lineup wall.
Stunna 4 Vegas, and last week’s “Bachelor.“ With 6 Rings, Mal starts to make his bid for rap stardom in Zone 6 and beyond.
King Von Reveals Cover Art and Tracklist for LeVon James, Coming March 6th via Only The Family/EMPIRE
Featuring Appearances from OTF Label Boss Lil Durk, G Herbo, YNW Melly, Yungeen Ace, and More, the Chicago Star’s Upcoming Project is Now Available For Pre-Order
The Announcement:
Illustrating a vivid view of life in Chicago’s streets with his snarling delivery, King Von is the South Side’s next superstar. Today, Von announces that his upcoming album LeVon James is available for pre-order. With a title that alludes to Von’s G.O.A.T. aspirations and a cover that pays homage to LeBron James’s pre-game chalk ritual, LeVon James is a fierce and invigorating listen, packed with gripping street stories, ferocious flows, and production from frequent Von collaborator Chopsquad DJ, among others. The new album features multiple appearances from Von’s mentor and Only The Family label honcho Lil Durk, along with an array of the biggest names in street rap, including G Herbo, YNW Melly, NLE Choppa, Tee Grizzley, Yungeen Ace, and Booka600. LeVon James is currently available for pre-order via Only The Family/EMPIRE.
Last week, Von gave fans the first taste of the upcoming project when he shared “Took Her To The O,” an engaging new single, produced by Chopsquad DJ. Bringing Von’s lyrics to life, the Joan Pabon-directed video tells the story of a violent altercation near Von’s home of O-Block, intercut with clips of Von and his therapist getting down to the music. “Took Her To The O” quickly followed Von’s video for “Crazy Story Pt. 3,” a continuation of his GOLD-certified breakout hit “Crazy Story.“
King Von is currently preparing for his role as the primary support for G Herbo on the “PTSD Tour.” Kicking off tomorrow in Brooklyn (Brooklyn Steel), the 28-date nationwide tour passes through Atlanta (Tabernacle) on March 11th, and Joliet, IL (The Forge) on April 3rd before wrapping up in Cleveland (House of Blues) on April 7th. Tickets for the “PTSD Tour” are available at GHerbo.com.
The HITCO Artist Takes Us Home To His Neighborhood of Oak Cliff in His Latest Video
Critical Praise:
“How Yella Beezy Scored a Number One Hit During the Summer of Drake” – Rolling Stone
“Yella makes rap that falls into the ever so-popular “melodic” description, but his flows and downright ability to spit set him apart from everyone else” – XXL
“Beezy brings the heat…In an era when hip hop artists are releasing albums where every song sounds pretty much the same, Yella Beezy has delivered a record that goes against the grain on his latest project, Baccend Beezy. The Southern rapper sticks to his roots as listeners can pick up influences from the region, but Beezy has a little bit of something for everyone on his latest mixtape. ” – HotNewHipHop
“He uses simple lyrics intelligently, with an infectious flow that would sound equally appropriate in a noisy nightclub or coming from a cell phone outside West End Station during rush hour.” – Dallas Observer
The Video:
He’s an emerging star with a passionate legion of fans and a national presence on rap radio, but Yella Beezy will never forget where he came from. Returning to his Dallas roots, Yella Beezy shares “Keep It In The Streets,” his new music video. With glistening piano and twangy guitar, “Keep It In The Streets” echoes the soulful tradition of Texas titans like UGK, laying down the code of the streets and the dire consequences for those who break it: “I fire my strap and you can fire your strap/But n****, keep it in the streets/Them folks attack and we don’t say shit back/We don’t talk to the police.” Directed by David H. Nguyen, the video paints a poignant picture in stylish black-and-white, focusing on the figures who populate Beezy’s Oak Cliff neighborhood and shining a light on their daily struggles.
With over 100k streams since its release on Friday, “Keep It In The Streets” is the HITCO-signed rapper’s first new song of 2020. The street-savvy single follows “Ay Ya Ya Ya,” a guitar-inflected ode to club-going baddies, which dropped late in 2019. Earlier this year, Beezy and guest singer Ty Dolla $ign appeared in the song’s James Bond-inspired video. “Ay Ya Ya Ya” came hot on the heels of “Restroom Occupied,” the Chris Brown-featured radio hit that reached the top 10 of Billboard’s Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop chart.
Yella Beezy made his name in the industry the traditional way, building up a massive local fanbase in his hometown before winning the support of DJs across the country. He emerged in 2017 with the Gold-certified hit “That’s On Me,” which peaked at #1 on Urban radio, eclipsing Drake’s “In My Feelings” for the top spot. Later that year, Yella Beezy opened for Beyoncé and Jay-Z on the On The Run Tour, and in summer 2019, he had a prominent spot supporting his “Restroom Occupied” co-star Chris Brown on his Indigoat Tour. In Summer 2019, he shared Baccend Beezy, the latest chapter in the Dallas native’s independent rise from obscurity to stardom. Featuring the Urban Radio Top 10 hit “Bacc At It Again” ft. Quavo & Gucci Mane, Baccend Beezy peaked at #91 on the Billboard 200 and boasted guest spots from Young Thug, Chris Brown, NLE Choppa, Too $hort, and more.
Stay tuned for Yella Beezy’s follow-up to Baccend Beezy, arriving Spring 2020.

Murder Weapon, the Posthumous Album from Bay Area Legend the Jacka, is Now Available For Pre-Order
With Appearances from Freddie Gibbs, Curren$y, Paul Wall, and Many More, the Upcoming Project is a Testament to the Mob Figaz Emcee’s Lasting Legacy

The Chicago Rising Star Returns to O-Block in the Latest Video From the 3/6 LeVon James Project
The Video:
Delivering gripping narratives with an aggressively energetic flow, King Von effortlessly demands attention. Dramatizing another one of his street stories, Von shares “Took Her To The O,” a brand new music video. Over a sinister, piano-led drill beat from frequent collaborator Chopsquad DJ, Von vigorously tells the story of a seduction that goes wrong once another man enters the picture: “She left her phone, so I picked it up/This ho slow as f*ck/Nine missed calls, three of them from mom the other six say “Duck”/Now I look up, and I see a truck, it just pullin’ up/Someone hopped out, a big goofy n****, he tryna look tough.” Directed by Joan Pabon, the video finds Von recounting the story to a therapist, intercutting narrative scenes (cribbed directly from Von’s detailed lyrics) with shots of Von and his therapist getting down to DJ’s beat. “Took Her To The O” is the first single from LeVon James, the Chicago rapper’s upcoming project.
With a title that alludes to Von’s G.O.A.T. aspirations, LeVon James is a fierce and invigorating listen, packed with gripping street stories, ferocious flows, and production from frequent Von collaborator Chopsquad DJ, among others. Featuring appearances from King Von’s mentor Lil Durk, along with G Herbo, YNW Melly, NLE Choppa, Tee Grizzley, Yungeen Ace, and Booka600, LeVon James arrives on March 6th via Only The Family/EMPIRE.
King Von is currently preparing for his role as the primary support for G Herbo on the “PTSD Tour.” Kicking off in Brooklyn on February 27th (Brooklyn Steel), the 28-date nationwide tour passes through Atlanta (Tabernacle) on March 11th, and Joliet, IL (The Forge) on April 3rd before wrapping up in Cleveland (House of Blues) on April 7th. Tickets for the “PTSD Tour” are available at GHerbo.com.

The Dallas Rapper Explains The Code He Lives By in His New Anthem
The Song:
Wielding a southern drawl that sounds equally at home on heartfelt rap ballads as strip club anthems, Dallas rapper Yella Beezy appeals to the radio and the streets in equal measure. Perfecting his blend of country and street sensibilities, Beezy shares “Keep It In The Streets,” his new single. Reverberating with minor-key guitars, “Keep It In The Streets” is a modern-day blues ballad, mournfully and honestly addressing harsh realities through song. Alternating melodies and rapidfire rhymes, Beezy doles out pearls of street wisdom, designed to help people survive in this cold world: “Gotta be stronger, than greed and hunger/Said keep a strap and watch your back and you’ll live longer.” “Keep It In The Streets” is the HITCO-signed rapper’s first new song of 2020.
Late last year, Yella Beezy dropped “Ay Ya Ya Ya,” a guitar-inflected ode to club-going baddies. Featuring an appearance from Ty Dolla $ign, “Ay Ya Ya Ya” recently became a James Bond-inspired music video, as Beezy and Ty enjoyed VIP treatment in a remote casino.
Quavo & Gucci Mane, Baccend Beezy peaked at #91 on the Billboard 200 and featured appearances from Young Thug, Chris Brown, NLE Choppa, Too $hort, and more.
Stay tuned for Yella Beezy’s follow-up to Baccend Beezy, hitting the internet later in 2020.

Featuring an appearance from Chicago rising star Polo G, “Free Melly” finds the two emcees celebrating their success, while noting how quickly the tides can turn: “Sh*t changed since I left the county, ain’t looked back since I got free,” sings Polo G. The video finds Gotit and Polo strutting their stuff on a neon-lit sound stage in the company of models, as the lights flash slime green.

Last week, Lil Gotit connected with another ATL sound architect–Zaytoven–for the “Drip Jacker” video single, from the upcoming The A-Team mixtape. A collaborative mixtape featuring Gotit, Zaytoven, Lil Yachty, and Lil Keed, The A-Team hits the internet next week, further solidifying Gotit’s spot among Atlanta’s trap elite.

Lil Durk Announces the Highly-Anticipated No Auto Durk Project, Executive Produced by Metro Boomin
The Chicago Standout Stars in the Cole Bennett-Directed Commercial For Nike’s Jordan x Lyrical Lemonade Collab Sneaker
The Alamo Records Signee and Current Chicago Billboard Star Gets Back to the Basics With His Upcoming Project
Critical Praise:
“Unshackled from any kind of outline, Durk’s pen game shines. His rise was dotted with blood-soaked tales that summarized much of drill’s appeal: ground-level glimpses at Chicago’s South Side that colored in the outline offered by grim murder statistics.” –Pitchfork
“Lil Durk continues to be one of the most consistent rappers out.” – TheFADER
“the rose that blossomed from the concrete of Chi-Town’s drill music scene” – Billboard
“His flexibility as a rapper creates enough space for his guest artist to shine, but his standalone cuts are evidence that he can carry the weight on his own.” – HYPEBEAST
The Announcement:
He’s known for his melodic mastery, but Lil Durk unleashes his rawest lyricism when he ditches software and raps. Today, Durk announces the long-anticipated No Auto Durk, executive produced by Metro Boomin, coming soon. Providing a gift for fans who clamored for a project with less singing and more rhyming (his 2018 single “No Auto Durk” has more than 44 million views on YouTube), No Auto Durk finds the 27-year-old Only The Family label boss proving his mettle as an emcee, flexing his myriad flows over atmospheric trap and sinister drill beats. On Friday, as the NBA prepared to celebrate All-Star Weekend in his hometown of Chicago, Durk unveiled two Billboards beside the city’s Dan Ryan highway, announcing the album and his Metro Boomin co-sign. No Auto Durk arrives later in 2020 via Alamo Records.
Along with the project announcement, Lil Durk recently starred in a brand new, nationally-televised commercial for Nike’s Air Jordan. Advertising the brand’s new collaboration with Chicago’s own Lyrical Lemonade and Cole Bennett, the Lyrical Lemonade x Jordan Aerospace 720, the commercial finds Durk showing off his basketball skills while decked head-to-toe in colorful LL-branded merch. Long known for having the sweetest jumpshot in the rap game, Durk is the ideal ambassador for this cultural crossover event.
After the success of his 2019 album Love Songs 4 The Streets 2, which debuted in the Top 5 of the Billboard 200, Durk enters 2020 on a mission, ready to set the world on fire and prove his range as an artist and emcee. A major influence on the next generation of star rappers, Durk recently collaborated with Polo G for his “Career Day” single (2.5 million views), and appeared on “Moonwalkin” (11.3 million Spotify streams), a highlight on Roddy Ricch‘s blockbuster album Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial.
Stay tuned for much more information on No Auto Durk, coming soon.
About Only The Family (OTF):
With a young and hungry roster of Chicago-born emcees, Lil Durk’s OTF label signees have made their intentions clear–they’re coming to take over the game. Most notable among the OTF roster is King Von, whose breakout hit “Crazy Story” earned more than 35 million views on YouTube and 14 million combined plays on Apple and Spotify. King Von is currently preparing his debut mixtape. Returning to the scene with his Dirty-Glove Bastard-premiered single “War Scars,” melodic mastermind Booka600released his mixtape Word To LA in June. The OTF crew showcased their talents in two label mixtapes released last year, Lil Durk Presents: Only The Family Involved Vol. 1, released last summer, and its sequel, released just before the New Year.
The ATL Zone 6 Duo Reunites On a Highlight Cut From Quill’s Don Quillon Mixtape
The Video:
Armed with the fastest and freshest flows in their hometown, Mal & Quill have an electrifying chemistry. Reconnecting for the first time since last summer’s “Wave” single, the Zone 6 duo shares “Back @ It,” a brand new music video. Weaving their way through minor-key pianos and syncopated hi-hats courtesy of Kino Beats, Mal & Quill celebrate their success with rhythmic interplay, craftily confirming their boss status: “New spot, new car, everyday brand new cheddar/We pop it like Belaire/Gotta thank God, boy that whole squad doin’ better.” The video alternates daytime shots on a South Beach balcony with nights in Miami backstreets, as the impeccably-dressed duo bop to the tune of their own banger. “Back @ It” is a single from Don Quillon, Lil Quill’s recent mixtape.
Known for their three-part Blessed Lil Bastards mixtape series, Mal & Quill earned an early co-sign from Zone 6 legend Gucci Mane. The duo gained attention with their irrepressible energy, swapping rapidfire bars on hits like “Been In My Bag,” which has over 1.7 million views on YouTube. Last year, Yung Mal began his flourishing solo career with the Iceburg mixtape, which featured a long line of successful singles, includingthe Gunna-featuring “War“ and the Pi’erre Bourne-produced “Action,” featuring Lil GotIt. Last week, Mal shared “Numbers (Remix),” which updated a lyrical highlight from the Iceburg tape with an appearance from Stunna 4 Vegas. Stay tuned for much more from Yung Mal as he looks to make a huge mark on 2020.
Dublin Natives Tony Konstone & Lilo Blues Cap Off a Successful Decade With a Lustful New Single From Their 2/28 Superweird EP
Critical Praise:
Hare Squead are pioneers of a creative boom taking place in Dublin… They have Ed Sheeran’s business savvy, compositional expertise , plus chiselled jaws and puppyish enthusiasm.”– The Guardian
The Song:
Flashing a unique vocal chemistry and an insatiable thirst for invention, Dublin natives Hare Squead are deeply dedicated to their craft. Delivering a lovestruck slice of electro-funk just in time for Valentine’s Day, Hare Squead shares “Baeboo,” their new single. At once nostalgic and futuristic, complete with gated snares and space-age synths, “Baeboo” finds Hare Squead vocalists Tony Konstone and Lilo Blues overcome by lust, ignoring the flaws of their significant others and plunging deeper into a dangerous attraction. Showing off the rhyming and singing talents of both emcees, “Baeboo” is the second standout single for Hare Squead in 2020, following the recent boom-bap clapback “Minor Gangsters (Gully).”
“Baeboo” arrives with an eye-catching lyric video, created by and starring Russian Instagram celebrity Anastasia Gorbatova. “I was so excited to hear this track before it came out,” says Gorbatova, “and I felt somehow it was about me, even though it’s not. I instantly learned it by heart and it’s like I’m in another world when I listen.”
Premiered in late January and listed on Spotify playlists like POLLEN and New Music Friday, “Minor Gangsters” claps back at racist UK politician Rory Stewart, who called Tony and Lilo “minor gangsters” during a man-on-the-street interview. The song flips the phrase and gives it a new power, as the duo proves there’s nothing “minor” about the way they handle their business. Along with “Baeboo,” “Minor Gangsters (Gully)” is a cornerstone of the duo’s upcoming Superweird EP
Hare Squead is currently preparing to embark the “Minor Gangsters Tour” in late February. A 5-show run that takes the duo across Western Europe, the “Minor Gangsters Tour” features stops in Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris, London, and the duo’s hometown of Dublin, Ireland. Stay tuned for Superweird EP, arriving on February 28th.
Hare Squead Tour Dates:
February 22 – Paris – Popup!
February 25th – Berlin – Burg Schnabel
February 27th – Amsterdam – Melkweg
February 28th – London – Oslo
February 29th – Dublin – Secret Location
