The Artist Recently Hailed as a “Best New Artist” by Pigeons & Planes Continues His Streak of Eye-Popping Visuals with a Channel-Surfing Interpretation of His Jazz-Inflected Banger
Critical Praise:
“Best New Artist for September 2021: It’s clear My Favorite Color is okay not taking himself too seriously and letting the music speak for itself.” – Pigeons & Planes
“The Pittsburgh MC once again flashes signs of brilliance on his new song ‘Old News.’ His zany personality and frenetic flow are the main drivers of his fun-filled anthem.”
– Billboard
“He truly brings you on a sonic journey that contains so many different styles, sounds, and narratives, you have no choice but to pay attention.”
– Lyrical Lemonade
“His music is powerful. Each bar drips with the confusion and existential dread of a man who feels out of place in his world.” – Noisey
The Video:
My Favorite Color‘s keen sense of visuals matches the chaotic energy he exudes in his rhymes–he’s hyperactive, but always is in control. Coming through with another high-concept visual, My Favorite Color shares “Mayday.” A jazzy and off-kilter banger that announces the artist as a major and uncompromising talent, “Mayday” is a lyrical showcase that veers to every corner of the rapper’s mind, mixing party-positive flexes with tongue-twisting geopolitical analysis. Directed by Dee Sauce, the new video matches the energy of the sirenic instrumental. As he did in his recent video for “Old News,” MFC plays multiple roles, ranging from a kidnap victim, to a possibly untrained pilot, to a truth-telling stand-up comedian. The new clip is colorful and action-packed, another example of why My Favorite Color’s artistic gifts and engaging sense of humor inspired Pigeons & Planes to name him a Best New Artist in September 2021.
The latest glimpse of his upcoming project, due early next year, “Mayday” finds My Favorite Color in a rarified spot–he’s confident enough in his abilities to experiment with his craft and to have fun while doing it. “Mayday” immediately follows “Old News,” a bouncy, lyrical banger that takes the time to emphasize why the L.A.-via-Pittsburgh artist is different from your favorite rapper, complete with a hilarious music video where MFC plays multiple parts a la Eddie Murphy. “Old News” earned critical praise from Billboard who called the song a “flash of brilliance,” and Lyrical Lemonade who wrote, “after seeing the music video, I can’t think of a better record and visual one-two punch than this from what I’ve seen recently.”
Signed to Rostrum Records, the label that broke Pittsburgh legends like Mac Miller and Wiz Khalifa, My Favorite Color looks to follow in their footsteps as the next artist from the Steel City to make it big. “Old News” heralds a return for the L.A.-via-Pittsburgh artist, who is working on his follow-up to Velma, his ambitious debut album. A tour through the Rostrum Records signee’s inventive mind and finely-tuned aesthetic, Velma is a revealing and relatable album–listening feels like catching up with an old friend about his life. On songs like the lead single “Funeral,” My Favorite Color contemplates complex questions about faith, mortality, music, and love. Acclaimed by DJ Booth, KAZI, and more,Velma is available everywherevia Rostrum Records.
Stay tuned for much more music and eye-popping videos from My Favorite Color in the coming weeks and months as he prepares for his next album.
Led Zeppelin Joins TikTok, While Adele and Luke Combs Spark New Trends
Led Zeppelin “Rambles On” to TikTok, Creators Get Spooky with a Halloween Theme Song Remix, and Curtis Roach Rises Again
The News:
Each week, the TikTok Treats newsletter gives a snapshot of the state of music on TikTok, touching on trending hits, emerging artists, superstar moves, ascendant memes, and much more. From the sweet sounds of Adele to the ominous sounds of a Halloween theme song remix, check out some of the tracks and trends that are taking off on TikTok this week:
Here’s some news that won’t make you “sad, sad, sad”: as part of TikTok’s #Rocktober celebration, the legendary Led Zeppelin has officially joined TikTok! Along with the launch of their official TikTok account, the band’s full discography is now available to the TikTok community. The account will feature iconic Led Zeppelin artwork and graphics, classic live performances, and other unique video content. TikTok users can now soundtrack their video creations with any of the 100+ studio and live Led Zeppelin tracks, including iconic tunes like “Stairway to Heaven,” “Whole Lotta Love,” and “Ramble On.” They’ve already posted their first video as a teaser for fans to let them know they’re officially on the app and have much in store.
There are few artists who have the ability to get the world deep in their feelings like Adele. With the release of her new heartfelt track “Easy On Me,” one of music’s most beloved singer-songwriters has won the hearts of the TikTok community. The chorus’ intro lyric “Go easy on me baby / I was still a child” is inspiring creators to reflect on their childhoods and life-changing events. From moms displaying the ways that they do special things for their kids that their own parents weren’t able to do for them, to other moms reflecting on becoming a mom at a young age, “Easy On Me” seems to be the perfect sound to make creators tap into their emotions. It has even proven to be a hit amongst TikTok’s dramatic dog community. The song has garnered over 287.1K creations on the app so far and reached #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 this week, showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
Detroit rapper Curtis Roach had a major moment on TikTok last year when his “Bored in the House” took off on the app, inspiring over 3.5 million video creations and bagging Tyga for the remix. He’s now seeing success again on the app with “COMMA$”. The catchy track has sparked a #nottodaychallenge consisting of creators using the text-on-screen feature to exhibit the habits and behavior they refuse to experience any longer. The song is soundtracking creations from those who are letting everyone know what they won’t tolerate in relationships, on their quests to chase their dreams, and advice from their personal trainers that they avoid. Curtis Roach has even been participating in this challenge on his own page, using his song to reference the negativity he’s putting behind him after 2021.
Continuing TikTok’s #Rocktober celebration, ‘00s rockers Papa Roach and Simple Plan are preparing for some guitar-fueled fun on the app. On October 27th at 5 PM PT/8 PM ET, both bands will be going head-to-head in a #BattleOfTheBands via TikTok LIVE on Papa Roach’s TikTok, as they perform a number of their classic tracks in a battle for mall punk supremacy.
Rising Italian rock band and TikTok favorites Måneskin are also gearing up to celebate #Roctober and perform some of their hits–including their TikTok-fueled global hit “Beggin” (10.6 million video creations)–in an exciting TikTok LIVE, via their own TikTok, on October 30th at 5 PM PT/8 PM ET. Stay tuned for even more surprises for TikTok’s biggest #Rocktober to date.

The Versatile Puerto Rican Superstar Travels to the Arid U.S./Mexico Border in the Cinematic Visual For a Corridos Tumbados & Norteño-Inspired Highlight from His LA 167 Album, Which Peaked at #1 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums Chart
The Announcement:
Puerto Rico-born superstar Farruko is one of the most versatile artists in Latin music, incorporating the sounds of the music that he loves into his vast sonic tapestry. Taking a trip to the sandy hills that mark the border between Mexico and California, Farruko shares “Baja Cali,” his latest music video. The song takes inspiration from “corridos tumbados,” the red hot genre that mixes traditional guitars with 808s and trap beats. Farruko tells a story from the point of view of a Tijuana cartel boss, mixing in true details from his own life with the kind of braggadocious boasts of illicit dealings common in corridos.
Directed by Mike Ho, who worked with Farru on the party-positive clips for “PEPAS” and “El Incomprendido,” “Baja Cali” is a sweeping and cinematic clip, set at the border between the U.S. and Mexico in Baja California, with shots of the barrier that divides Baja and California. Surrounded by advanced weaponry and mariachi musicians, Farru exults in his boss status, posting up at a gas station similar to the one owned by his grandfather in Puerto Rico and surveying his binational kingdom.
“Baja Cali” is the latest standout clip from LA 167, the two-time Latin GRAMMY award winner’s brand new album. Named after the main highway that runs through his hometown of Bayamón, PR, the project finds the global chart-topping reggaetonero further defying industry standards — creating an eclectic ambiance fit for various subcultures and genres. Intentionally crafted to honor the intersections of the culture of Bayamon and the legacy of his late grandfather, the album displays a Farruko that is nostalgic, festive, vulnerable, and proud. Home to the global hit “PEPAS,” LA 167 currently sits at #2 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart, after reigning at the #1 spot for two weeks, and resides at #62 on the Billboard 200 after debuting at #26.
With remixes from superstar DJs like David Guetta and Tiësto, “PEPAS” landed Farruko the #1 spot on Billboard’s “Hot Latin Songs” chart (9 weeks at #1), and number #2 “Hot Dance/Electronic Songs” (after 8 weeks at #1), plus #1 spots on three other Billboard charts. Listed at #29 on the Billboard Hot 100, the track currently ranks at #9 on Spotify’s Weekly Global Top 50 chart, with over 380 million total streams, surpassing 3.3 million daily streams. Shortly after the release of LA 167, Farruko made his late night TV debut, performing “PEPAS” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
This week, Farruko will release a new EP featuring three brand new “PEPAS” remixes, along with the previously released David Guetta and Tiesto remixes. The upcoming EP releases on October 29th via Sony Music Latin / Carbon Fiber Music.

Along with “PEPAS,” LA 167 is home to “La Tóxica,” which debuted in the top 10 of Billboard’s “Latin Digital Song Sales” list and in the top 15 of “Hot Latin Songs, it peaked at no. 1 in 9 countries, #1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs and Latin Streaming Songs, and scored him a 2021 Latin GRAMMY® nomination in the “Best Reggaeton Performance” category. Last week, Farruko shared the festive video for EDM-inflected banger “El Incomprendido,” which interpolates the 1999 eurodance classic “Better Off Alone” by Alice Deejay and generated over 9 million YouTube views in just its first week. The album features a new collaboration with Pedro Capó, who connected with Farru in 2019 for the 25x Platinum hit “Calma,” Farru’s fellow Bayamón native Ñengo Flow, and additional appearances from Myke Towers, Jay Wheeler, Brray, Secreto, Noriel, Luar, White Star, India Martinez, Lenier, and Jamaican dancehall singer Mavado.
Characterized as a definitive artist of his generation of Latin musicians, Farruko illustrates his natural approach to both commercial and rooted styles with LA 167. This November he will kick off his first US Tour making stops in 15 cities. He recently made history selling out Puerto Rico’s renowned Coliseo arena during a presale for 2 nights for his upcoming homecoming shows of “LA 167 Tour.”
LA 167 is available to stream everywhere via Sony Music Latin/Carbon Fiber Music.

“After his 2017 single ‘Krippy Kush’ became the first Latin trap song to reach the Hot 100 singles chart, Farruko did the unexpected by shifting his next album away from the burgeoning format and returning to urbano’s reggae roots. Eschewing tough rap braggadocio in favor of tuff gong vibrations, Gangalee makes Carribbean connections via cuts like the breezy ‘Quédate’ and the throwback ‘Pórtate Mal.’” – Rolling Stone’s Best Latin Albums of 2019 (Gangalee)
“Whether or not you realize it, this Puerto Rican rapper is one of the most popular artists in America right now.” – Vice
“Luckily, a few artists have taken on the task of ensuring [reggaeton’s] origins aren’t suppressed or forgotten. Farruko is one of the few at the forefront, doing so in the most overt fashion…Farruko, who has over a decade of experience in the music industry, has been a part of that time of reinvention for reggaeton, trap en español, and now reggae…Taking on the advice of the wise, Farruko more often than not says the least but does the most, pouring out his thoughts, emotions and vision for the future of Latin music into extended albums and tracks.” – Remezcla

Featuring Guest Spots From Swae Lee and Others, Gardner Express (Deluxe) Releases on November 3rd
The Expanded Project is Home to Both Versions of the Infectious Single “Attachments,” Which Has Racked Up More Than 40 Million Combined Streams
Critical Praise:
“Not a lot of musicians can claim to have the attention of the biggest music names in their country, or have toured with one of the most successful acts of all time and have released an album all before the age of 24. But Canadian artist Pressa is one of the few that would fit the description.” – Complex
“Pressa’s come a long way from his native of Driftwood and is approaching the business and art of music making like a seasoned veteran.” – Vice
“Be it the whip, the club, the speaker, or casual listening, you simply won’t regret pressing play on this project. Each of them bangers with plenty of replay value…” – Lyrical Lemonade
“Holy F*CK this is insane, this guy has one of the craziest voices I’ve ever heard.” – No Jumper
The Announcement:
Blending the street savvy he developed living in Toronto’s Driftwood neighborhood with his supernatural sense of melody, Pressa is quickly becoming one of his city’s biggest stars. Adding seven new songs to his most personal project to date, Pressa announces Gardner Express (Deluxe). With a title that references Pressa’s last name (Gardner) and the Gardiner Expressway, a major highway running through the downtown core of his hometown, the Deluxe EP finds the artist exploring how the rough conditions and cross-cultural exchange inform his life and music, packing in the snapping flows and effortless hooks that have him rising in the rap game on both sides of the border.
Pressa gave a glimpse of the Deluxe EP earlier this year when he shared “Second Hand Smoke,” a bad-kid-made-good anthem. The upcoming project features new guest appearances from Swae Lee and Rowdy Rebel, and is home to both versions of “Attachments,” Pressa’s most successful single to date. Now available for pre-order, and with spatial audio mixing by the legendary Mike Dean, Gardner Express (Deluxe) releases on November 3rd via Sony Music Canada.
Originally released on the first version of Gardner Express in December 2020, “Attachments” ft. Taliban Glizzy became a breakout hit from the project, with fans gravitating towards Pressa’s infectious hook and gritty lyrics about a deadly day in Driftwood. In the spring, Pressa hooked up with Coi Leray to deliver “Attachments” (Remix), further building buzz and generating over 5.7 million YouTube views on the sultry video. “Attachments” has become Pressa’s biggest global hit to date, generating over 41 million global streams across both versions and earning Platinum certification in his native Canada.
With over 85.6 million global streams to date, the original version of Gardner Express is home to multiple high profile collaborations, including “Head Tap” featuring Brooklyn drill rappers, Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow and “Blackberry Zap” ft. Jackboy. The project features additional appearances from Flipp Dinero, D Block Europe and Taliban Glizzy. With coverage in outlets like Complex and HotNewHipHop, and interviews with Ebro Darden on Apple Music, No Jumper, Montreality, and more, Gardner Express is a deeply personal, speaker-knocking project from one of the hottest emcees north of the border.
Pressa captured rap fans’ attention in Canada and the U.K. by garnering millions of YouTube views for 2016’s “Wass Gang,” landed on a tour with Drake, and emerged as a local cultural sensation. Pressa made his mark with the inimitable mix of his street-oriented lyrics, melodic hooks and high-pitched voice, making him a fixture in the Toronto hip-hop scene.
Recognized for an impressive list of collaborations (Murda Beatz, UK hip-hop don, Giggs, Lil Uzi Vert) over the years, the Canadian rapper continued his hot streak in 2020 with features from Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow, Jackboy, Flipp Dinero and more. Aligned with the new crop of artists dubbed “ones to watch,” Pressa is on track in his journey to becoming a household name.
No stranger to releasing full bodies of work with mixtapes such as, Press Machine, Press A Brick, and Prestige, 2020 was a prime display of Pressa’s growth and versatility as an artist, culminating with the release of his EP, Gardner Express. The EP features “OTM,” “96 Freestyle,” and “Head Tap” ft. Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow, which resulted in coverage from media juggernauts like Complex, a global Apple Music Beats 1 premiere with Ebro Darden, and over 44M worldwide global streams, together to date.
Pressa is applying a renewed vigor to his music and collaborating with likeminded writers, producers and artists on the rise. Inspired by the diverse streets of Toronto and a multicultural Jamaican/Filipino upbringing, Pressa is eager to share his passion and unique music style with the world.
Bronx-born Don Q Returns After 3 Year Hiatus with New Project, Double or Nothing
The Highbridge Rapper Shares a New Video for D.O.N. Highlight “Say That”
The Bronx Rapper Effortlessly Flips His Signature New York Tough Talk on Double Or Nothing, his First Full-Length Solo Project Since 2018’s Don Season 2
Critical Praise:
“He’s tough, funny, powerful, and completely in control. In addition, every once in a while he’ll throw in a line that will completely change the mood and make things somber (such as his note that at his young age, he’s “been to more funerals than graduations”), before ramping back up into the energetic rhymes.” – Complex
“Don Q Is The New York Rap Hardass We Need…Don Q has one of those deep, grizzled voices that communicate a whole lot just through their grain and texture.” – Stereogum
The Album:
Bronx-bred and respected in every borough, rapper Don Q has grown into the embodiment of a New York hip-hop hustler. Three years after dropping his last full-length project, Don Season 2, the Highbridge the Label rapper returns with a vengeance on his new project, Double Or Nothing. Drawing inspiration from the timeless swagger of classic mob films and cinematic rap epics that launched New York’s crime underbelly into the zeitgeist, Don elevates his street smarts into street wisdom over ten tracks. The project’s title, Double Or Nothing, serves as far more than an acronym, and can be seen as the rapper’s mission statement for his career from here on out: refusing to be defined by associations or comparisons, Don Q is all-in on Don Q.
Along with the release of Double Or Nothing, Don Q shares his new video for “Say That.” The song opens with a barrage of explosive 808s, leaving listeners with only a second or two to catch their breath before Don Q comes in hot with the first hook. The video starts with Don spitting his signature flow, postured menacingly in front of a Lambo truck while he recounts street situations from his Bronx past, before transitioning into his player tendencies: “You know how I get it/I bring out a load and spend it ‘til that b*tch don’t doubt my name.” As Don continues to slickly talk his smack, the scenery follows suit as we see the visuals transition from that dark garage to a sunny, summer pool party. As the scene switches between night and day, Don Q’s reserved delivery remains the only constant, as he spits with the energy of a young OG who’s seen it all.
The Bronx-born and raised Don Q came up with the early inspirations of NYC’s rawest rhymers like Jadakiss, Cassidy, Fabolous and Jay-Z. After cutting his teeth in the battle rap scene, he made waves in the streets with his mixtapes, eventually landing him a deal with Highbridge The Label in 2016. After teaming with fellow Highbridge rapper, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, on the popular Highbridge: The Takeover mixtape, the pair’s careers took off overnight, as Don Q caught the attention of a national audience with his highly-regarded Funk Flex freestyle. With mixtapes like 2017’s Corner Stories and 2018’s Don Talk, he would continue to cement his status in the New York scene.
In recent years, Don Q blessed the streets with more high-profile collaborations, such as “Flood My Wrist,” featuring Lil Uzi Vert and A Boogie, which has racked up over 42 million Spotify streams to date, and “Legends” featuring Buffalo-native Benny The Butcher. In 2021, Don reminded his fans that his freestyle game is as strong as ever with recent appearances on Funk Flex, as well as Charlie Sloth’sFire In The Booth. With the release of Double Or Nothing, Don Q puts the rap game, in NYC and beyond, on notice that he’s leveled up in major fashion. Where he takes it from here, however, is up to the Don.
Featuring a guest appearance from rising South Bronx drill rapper B Lovee, Double Or Nothing is available everywhere via Highbridge The Label / EMPIRE.

3. Say That
4. Light Today

The Masterful Melodist Contemplates A Turbulent Relationship in the Latest Video from His 2 Big 2 Ignore Album
Critical Praise:
“[T-Rell]’s got some straight Anthony Hamilton pipes” – HotNewHipHop
The Video:
Hailing from Topeka, Kansas, T-Rell has built a faithful fanbase and racked up millions of views with emotional storytelling and soul-baring honesty. Diving into the painful subject of infidelity, T-Rell shares “Fake Smiles,” his new video. T-Rell sings his heart out in his signature style, blending rhythmic rap with resonant R&B as he tries to smile through the pain of his deteriorating relationship: “I be givin’ fake smiles cause I don’t wanna lose you / I gotta hide my pain / Inside I’m breaking down cause this hurt is on my mind.”
In the video, Rell tells a story of a toxic relationship, filled with adultery and deceit, provoking him to mask his real feelings around his partner. After walking in on his partner cheating on him, T-Rell retreats to his car for a moment of privacy where he can let it all out. Vulnerable and compassionate, “Fake Smiles” is the seventh track off of 2 Big 2 Ignore, Rell’s latest album, which peaked at #1 on the iTunes sales chart upon release this past September.
Doing double duty as a treat for loyal listeners and a solid entry point for new listeners, 2 Big 2 Ignore supplements the emotional anthems for which he’s known with hard-nosed street tales and bangers for the club, like the recent single “Slide” ft. Fredo Bang. With his new album, T-Rell takes aim at those who doubted him, delivering a 16-track opus that loudly announces his status as a force to be reckoned with in the midwest and beyond. Though it doesn’t shy away from the pain music that T-Rell made his name on, as it pays tribute to Rell’s late friends like his manager 8-Ball and his close friend Mo3, the album leaves plenty of room for pleasure as well. Featuring appearances from Jackboy on the recent video “Fly Away,”Young Dro, Bigga Rankin, and more, 2 Big 2 Ignore is available everywhere via TRM / Winners Only / EMPIRE.
Determined to become a successful artist since he was a kid, T-Rell grew up loving rap and R&B, idolizing artists as disparate as Tyrese, Jamie Foxx, and Lil Boosie. His life changed forever after a catastrophic car accident that claimed the life of his brother and manager 8-Ball, an incident which inspired him to release “My Dawg,” a massive regional hit and trickled into the national consciousness, eventually spawning a remix with Boosie and becoming part of the standard repertoire at memorial services. Five years later, T-Rell hasn’t slowed down one bit. He released the album Rell Playearlier in 2021, and it quickly climbed to #1 on the iTunes R&B/Soul chart, #6 on the iTunes All Genres chart, and #69 on the Apple Music charts. T-Rell told his story his own way in “2 Big 2 Ignore,” a new mini-documentary that explores the artist’s unlikely rise and his history of altruism in his city and beyond.
2 Big 2 Ignore tracklist:
1. Medusa (feat. Bigga Rankin)
2. Fit In (feat. Big Boogie)
3. Lonely
4. Whole Thang
5. So in Love
6. Big Mad (feat. Young Dro)

13. On The Gang
14. LL3

A star in the making, T-Rell from Topeka, KS has all the right moves. His ability to sing, rap, dance, & even produce makes him a sure candidate for the “limelight”. His musical background comes from his family, mainly his mom who is a town legend. In 2014, on the way back from a show T-Rell was involved in a car accident in which he lost the life of his brother “8-Ball”. This life changing experience was the inspiration for the hit single “My Dawg”. The record was a instant classic and was made a verified hit when Boosie BadAzz was featured on the remix. T-Rell has other hit songs with artist such as K-stylis, Kevin Gates, Cassidy, Young Dolph, Mo3, Mike Jones & more.
After Setting the Internet Aflame With His Bawskee Series of Mixtapes, the 23-Year-Old Artist Makes a Stark Statement With His New Album, Featuring Previous Singles like “Spinback” and “Six Flags”

“St. Louis teen Comethazine gave rap a shot, and got millions of streams in return. As his December 2017 video ‘Piped Up’ inches closer to 3 million views, it seems the young rapper made the right choice to leave the regular nine-to-five life behind” –XXL
“Comethazine is one of the most buzzing artists in the hip-hop world” – HotNewHipHop
The Album:
With his playfully prickly personality and a knack for annihilating aggressive instrumentals, Comethazine has built a die hard fanbase since breaking out in 2018. Armed with a sure sense of self and a demonic smile, Comethazine shares Comethazine The Album, the culmination of his years-long rise to becoming a rap supervillain. Ever the lone wolf, the 23-year-old rapper continues to prove that he doesn’t need a gang to “push your wig back,” shouldering the 17-track load without any features. The new album benefits from Comethazine’s love of violent imagery and his lack of respect for societal norms–the artist makes sure the listener knows that his trademark demonic smile is no mask, but an accurate reflection of his gleefully chaotic being.
His first project since last year’s Bawskee 4, and a worthy follow-up to the Bawskee series on which he made his name, Comethazine The Album is home to “Spinback.” A haunting new single that made major waves on TikTok (over 380k video creations), “Spinback” and its ominous woodwind riff generated over 6 million Spotify plays to date, and boasts a visceral music video (directed, shot, and edited by Comethazine) with over 3.5 million views since its mid-September release. Earlier this week, the artist shared the Bobby Johnson-produced “Six Flags,” another aggro anthem, and the JMP-directed bank, robbery-dramatizing video, which generated over 500k views in its first 24 hour and reached the top 40 of YouTube’s trending chart. An album as curmudgeonly charming as the man who made it, Comethazine The Album is available everywhere via Alamo Records.
Comethazine The Album is the first full-length release from Comethazine since October 2020’s Bawskee 4. The Bawskee series stands out as a highlight in the past half-decade of SoundCloud rap, generating streams in the hundreds of millions and earning RIAA Platinum and Gold certifications for his singles, “Walk“ and “Bands,” respectively. Earlier this year, Comethazine gave the first glimpse of his video vision when he released the self-directed clip for “Malcolm In The Middle,” which has over 2.9 million views on YouTube.
Born Frank Childress in 1998, East St. Louis-native Comethazine was a lean-loving high-school dropout. Influenced by Nipsey Hussle, Odd Future, Lil B, and Chief Keef, he started rapping in 2015. He soon discovered that his initial output was not as well received as party-oriented cloud rap, so he switched angles and scored a pair of local underground hits with “Run It” and “Hella Choppers.” The Aloe Vera EP landed in 2016, which resulted in a late-2017 deal with Alamo Records. A slew of short singles followed, including “Deathwish,” “Piped Up,” “Oowee,” and “Hero.” “Bands” became a viral hit, landing on his first full-length, Bawskee, which debuted on the Billboard 200 upon its release in 2018.
The Florida Rapper Contemplates His Legacy In The Video For Album Opener “Dying Slowly“
Balancing Personal Introspective Anthems with Aggressive, Mosh Pit-Ready Jams, Pouya’s Latest Full-Length Project Features Appearances From Denzel Curry and Lu Baby
Critical Praise:
“He’s one of the most creative minds in music right now. His songs are always versatile and complex considering he fills them with a plethora of true stories and experiences, and his music videos never disappoint even slightly.” – Lyrical Lemonade
The Album:
Miami born and bred rapper Pouya has amassed a large and loyal fan base while operating on his own terms and releasing his music independently. He’s been a staple in a packed South Florida scene for nearly a decade at this point, dating back to the early days of the Soundcloud boom. His rise and staying power is a testament to staying true to himself and never switching up, even when it seemed like others around him were. Proving his versatility even while delivering for his longtime fans that have been with him from the jump, Pouya shares Blood Was Never Thick As Water, his new full-length project. Characterized by Pouya’s distinctive flow and versatile beats, Blood Was Never Thick As Water utilizes its 11 tracks to provide an introspective look at the demons Pouya is fighting both internally and externally. Making it clear that he sees himself as his only real competition, the 26 year old rapper is determined to show the world that he should no longer be seen as an underdog.
The new project is home to two popular singles that have allowed Pouya to reintroduce himself in recent months. Pouya fights his demons while soul searching on the jazz-infused “The First Step To Becoming God Is A Bottle To The Face,” while also recruiting fellow Florida native Denzel Curry for the bass heavy “Wig Split” to help him let the people know that he can’t be messed with. In typical unpredictable Pouya style, the opening track “Dying Slowly” grabs listeners’ attention by incorporating a full 60 seconds of jazz before transitioning into the bass-heavy beats his fans have come to expect. On the track, “Stuck In Admiration,” Pouya looks inward to reflect the pros and cons of fame, rapping: “I know I’m blessed but my gift feel like a curse sometimes / I know I’m stressed, baby, this life don’t come with rewind.” The album was executively-produced by Pouya’s longtime collaborator and friend, Mikey The Magician, and features additional production from Rocci and Ivan Ramirez, amongst others. Blood Was Never Thick As Water is available everywhere now.
Along with the album, Pouya shares “Dying Slowly,” a brand new music video for the opening track off of Blood Was Never Thick As Water. Shot by the BRAIN-WAVE in black and white, the scene opens with a gloomy-looking Pouya sitting in a chair while a barber comes in to cut his overgrown hair. As the music transitions from jazz to trap beats, Pouya maintains the same expression while looking back at the last 10 years of his career. The reflective banger sees Pouya evaluate his own expectations that he has for himself: “I set the bar so high I’ll die before I reach my prime / But if my words could live forever then it’s worth my time.”
An iconoclastic figure who’s collaborated with everyone from $uicideboy$ to Juicy J, Pouya grew a massive fanbase with SoundCloud singles, independent albums, and visceral live performances. The prolific artist released three studio albums–Underground Underdog, FIVE FIVE and The South’s Got Something to Say–along with multiple mixtapes with fellow Buffet Boys rappers like Fat Nick and Boobie Lootaveli. Earlier this year, Pouya made a triumphant return to Rolling Loud, a festival at which he’s been a fixture since the very first event in 2015, firing up crowds with his vast catalog of anthems.
With Blood Was Never Thick As Water, Pouya bares his soul, fearlessly plumbing the recesses of his mind and daring fans and newcomers alike to accept him as he is.
To be fully independent as an artist in this day and age is to know your musical & creative worth; trusting the process and fully believing in your project. For Miami native Kevin Pouya, better known as Pouya, there’s been no hesitation as he’s climbed through the ranks from his humble Soundcloud beginnings to upwards of 3.5 million monthly Spotify listeners, a number that’s consistently growing.
With a devout fanbase and the constant itch to not only make great music, but the love of helping his community and giving back, Pouya is becoming a household name. Ever-expanding through genre defying beats, he’s leaving no stone left unturned as he creates music to be angry to, to get hyped to, to be sad to and every emotion in between – vocally exuding his story & becoming more and more relatable – building and unbreakable bond between him & his fans.
With the success of his previous albums, Underground Underdog, FIVE FIVE and The South’s Got Something to Say, alongside multiple mixtapes with underground veterans Fat Nick & Boobie Lootaveli, multiple international tours under his belt, and working with stars such as Juicy J, The Ying Yang Twins, J.I.D & more – this is truly just the beginning for the young rapper. Be on the lookout for yet another massive album with some big features from the Buffet Boys rapper – Pouya is a name you’ll be remembering.

Creators Break A Sweat To Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and New Orleans Rap, and George Michael, Cody Fry, and New York Drill Rise On TikTok Again
The News:
Each week, the TikTok Treats newsletter gives a snapshot of the state of music on TikTok, touching on trending hits, emerging artists, superstar moves, ascendant memes, and much more. From high-powered New Orleans hip hop to orchestral covers of The Beatles’ iconic tunes, check out some of the tracks and trends that are making waves on TikTok this week:
It’s hard to deny the danceable, high-energy vibe of New Orleans hip hop, even in the middle of a workout. TikTok creators are giving into this vibe, with the 504 Boyz and Weebie’s fast tempo “Grab Da Wall & Rock The Boat” at the helm of a new trend that has taken off on the platform. With this lighthearted trend, creators can be seen getting into push-up position and attempting to do their workout to the track’s intensifying beat. Amassing over 294.7K creations so far, the track is inspiring creations from dads having their workouts interrupted by their adorable daughters, the cutest siblings working out together, and even a fitness-focused Pennywise.
Indie singer-songwriter Jack Stauber had a major moment on TikTok last year with his 2017 “Buttercup” single amassing over 1.4 million creations thanks to a colorful tie-dye trend. His music is having another viral run on the app, this time with his 2017 avant-pop “Oh Klahoma” leading the way. The track has sparked a number of Halloween-themed videos, to the tune of over 387.3K creations. The TikTok community has taken a liking to the lowkey song, using it to soundtrack moments with their kids who are obsessed with wearing spooky “pumpkin heads,”fall date nights, and photos of their dogs in cute ghost costumes.
To kick off TikTok’s #Rocktober celebration, it was recently announced that The Beatles joined TikTok! The TikTok community has been showing the iconic band’s music tons of love even before their arrival on the app, from original music to covers such as “Eleanor Rigby” by Cody Fry, but now the floodgates have been opened with their official catalog. Cody saw success with his music earlier this year when TikTok propelled his cinematic 2017 “I Hear A Symphony” (45.9K+ creations) to #2 on Spotify’s US Viral 50 chart. In recent weeks, he’s surpassed this success on the app, as his orchestral cover of The Beatles’ “Eleanor Rigby” has spawned over 147.5K creations. The song is soundtracking everything from graceful ballerina photography to hilarious mishaps of class project duplicates and astrology jokes.
TikTok recently kicked off its #Rocktober celebration with The Beatles joining the app and encouraging fans to use their music, but that’s not all TikTok has in store. Stay tuned for even more surprises for TikTok’s biggest #Rocktober to date.
The Oakland Native Puts on a Masterclass in Stone-Faced Flexing with Louisville’s Own EST Gee in the Latest Video From His Recent Project, Rich Off The Pack
Critical Praise:
“Offset Jim’s music feels current in the sense that it’s vital, loose, and alive, but it also feels totally unswayed by the creative winds of the moment. From production to slang to wobbling beats with stuttering drums, it’s aggressively, audaciously Oakland.” – Vulture
“Offset Jim keeps his voice low-key and contained, and somehow that makes his sh*t slap all the harder.” – Stereogum
“Jim prefers his deadpan snarl, firing off boasts and threats like poisonous darts… You’re probably not going to miss anything, but you’ll still want to run it back.” – Passion of the Weiss
The Announcement:
Offset Jim is not only a local hero in The Bay, but with Rich Off The Pack he’s solidified his spot as a national concern. Hot off the heels of his newest album, Offset Jim shares new visuals for “Off White Mikes” ft. EST Gee. The marriage of a bouncy DTB-produced bassline and menacingly urgent piano keys on the track’s instrumental sets the perfect stage for the emcees to exhibit their mastery of the unfazed flex. The track sees Jim expanding on his hustler’s manifesto in his signature style, rapping, “Come from a murder zone/Talkin’ murder on a burner phone,” with delivery so subtle, he could’ve recorded it at the library.
In the video, Jim embodies every bit of effortlessness captured in his verses, as we see the Oakland rapper go from kicking back on a staircase, to flexing money on a rooftop, to eating Doritos on a kitchen island, all while adorning the same paint-splattered hoodie with a pair of iced-out chains. The visual brings to life the complimentary styles of Jim and EST Gee’s soft-spoken street knowledge in all its hard-hitting glory. Filmed in the NYC neighborhood of Tribeca, “Off White Mikes” is just the latest addition in a series of recent high-production videos from the Rich Off The Pack, like “Members Only,” “Face Card” ft. Kenny Beats, “Make No Sense” ft. Babyface Ray, and “Regular.”
In a heavily populated Bay Area rap scene, Offset Jim has remained a standout since emerging alongside fellow Play Runners Association rapper ALLBLACK in 2018 and 2019. Hailing from the notorious Oakland neighborhood known as the Murder Dubs, Jim first made waves after back-to-back releases in 2019. The first was his solo effort, No Pressure, featuring the local hit titular track, which amassed over 3 million streams, and the second, 22nd Ways, a collab mixtape with ALLBLACK, featuring the Bay Area favorite, “Trip On It,” which amassed over 7 million streams. With the release of Rich Off The Pack, Offset Jim has put the nation on notice that he’s far more than just the Bay Area’s problem now.

“Comethazine is one of the most buzzing artists in the hip-hop world” – HotNewHipHop
The Announcement:
Comethazine has established a unique lane for himself as one of hip-hop’s most bellicose enigmas, spitting unmistakable cadences over hard-biting trap instrumentals in his signature, macabre aesthetic. Continuing his streak of combative sounds, the St. Louis native prepares for Comethazine The Album, his new album is set to release this Friday, October 22nd via Alamo Records. At 18 tracks in length, Comethazine The Album continues his stream of full-length projects with no features or big-name producers, bolstering his reputation as a lone wolf within the industry. Last month, Comethazine further proved the strength of his lone vision with the music video for “Spinback,” the first single from Comethazine The Album, which he shot, directed, conceptualized, and edited himself. Few can pull that status off, but Comethazine masters it.
Today, Comethazine shares “Six Flags,” a new music video from the upcoming album. Unlike the park referenced in the title, Comethazine makes it crystal clear that he’s not here for anyone’s amusement in this track. Pulling no punches over the track’s two minute runtime, Comethazine states plainly the differences between himself and the world: “All my n****s gangbang, Comethazine been did that/I don’t need no gang, I bust your brain independent.” Directed by JMP, the video follows a bare-faced Comethazine leading a gang of masked gunmen into a bank heist. Reminiscent of the opening scene of Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight, the visual perfectly capture’s the track’s urgent hostility of Comethazine’s barking braggadocio over the dramatic orchestral strings looped throughout.

“The song is a great little banger, stripped-down and catchy, with a synth riff that reminds me of some of the best club-rap of the early-’00s.” – Stereogum
“Smoko Ono is responsible for a lot of the beats coming out of Chicago in recent years.” – Complex
The Song:
An essential producer behind present day Chicago hip hop, Smoko Ono has the ability to intertwine his city’s traditional sounds with those of the future. With the help of Yxng Bane, Chance The Rapper, and Joey Purp, Smoko Ono shares the new visual for “Winners.” The song has a true dancehall feel to it, bolstered by smooth, Afrobeats-inspired drum patterns and bouncing synths providing the ideal canvas for the two Chitown heroes to deliver their verses. Crossing the Atlantic ocean to London with his Chitown crew, Smoko and the dudes post up with Yxng Bane on his home turf, moving around the city, and hanging out the side of their van. Through incorporating elements like a fish-eye lens, the video creates the feeling of watching a vlog about Smoko and his friends while they do some light shopping and dig in on a prominent restaurant city. Making sure to stop by KISS FM UK to promote their new single, the four artists bring their short trip to a halt by finding some time to participate in London’s nightlife.
The video for “Winners” arrives as the song continues to make waves in the streaming world. Currently, “Winners” sits at #1 on Apple Music’s The New Chicago playlist, has received over 1.5 million streams on Spotify to date, and has been recognized by high profile publications including Billboard, Complex, and Pitchfork. “Winners” is Smoko Ono’s second star-studded new single of the year, following “You Are” ft. Corinne Bailey Rae &UMI, which released in May. A song about loving someone with the totality of your being, “You Are” is drenched in reverb, offering ringing guitars–played by multi-Platinum artist Daniel Caesar–and sumptuous bass perfectly suited for headphone listening. “You Are” earned praise from Billboard, UPROXX, Earmilk, and more. Both featuring cover art from Nikko Washington, “Winners” and “You Are” are available to stream via Payday Records, and will both appear on Smoko’s upcoming debut solo album, due to release in Q1 2022.
A frequent collaborator with the likes of Chance The Rapper and Vic Mensa, Smoko Ono has a sterling reputation in Chicago and beyond for his production prowess. He’s produced tracks featuring some of music’s biggest stars, including Kanye West, DaBaby, Megan Thee Stallion, Ty Dolla $ign, Cordae, and many more. Earlier this year, Smoko produced “All Pride Aside,” a song by Shelley fka DRAM featuring Summer Walker. The prolific producer is hard at work on his star-studded upcoming album, which will be his first album since the critically acclaimed Very Slight, a collaborative project with Chicago rapper KAMI that generated over 12 million streams across platforms.
Stay tuned for much more from Smoko Ono in the rest of the year.
Smoko Ono’s production is an integral part of the sound of contemporary Chicago hip hop. A long-time collaborator of Chance the Rapper, Smoko had four placements on Chance’s debut album The Big Day including the off-cycle single “I Might Need Security,” and “Hot Shower” Ft DaBaby and MadeinTYO. As one of Vic Mensa’s main producers, Smoko produced tracks including “U Mad ft. Kanye West, “Liquor Locker ft. Ty Dolla Sign and “Feel That,” and produced on “Broke As F*ck” on YBN Cordae’s Grammy nominated album The Lost Boy. Smoko has upcoming releases with SG Lewis and more.
In 2018 Smoko released his collaborative album Very Slight with KAMI, which featured verses from Chance the Rapper, Joey Purp, and Valee, the project has received over 12M streams in the US alone. Smoko’s commercial work includes a Nike Super Bowl commercial, Puma, Tao, and has DJ’d Complexcon, Soho House, Poppy, The Marquee, and events like Kehlani’s after party. Additionally, Smoko has produced songs for Megan Thee Stallion, Denzel Curry, Yung Bans, YNW Melly, and is working with Francis and the Lights, Yxng Bane, Lil Yachty, Shelley fka DRAM, and more.
Payday Records Background

Relaunched by Ultra Music founder and hip-hop and electronic pioneer Patrick Moxey.
Video: Rucci & AzChike – “After Party” ft. Haiti Babii
The LA natives team up with Haiti Babii for a late night celebration in the latest video from their first-ever collaborative album Kourtesy Of Us
Critical Praise:
“On the spectrum of the new Los Angeles, Rucci sits closest to classicism, capturing the spirit of greats like Suga Free and Mack 10. But don’t mistake that homage for predictability: Rucci consumes these beats. His presence throughout this album is glowing, outsized, and even within the frames of L.A. bump — minor keys, minimal bass — he makes daring production choices. (“Lowrider” interpolates, you know, that song). But beneath the booming production and drug inventories that run rampant on Tako’s Son are stories of deep loss and chosen family” – NPR
“Rucci is one of the few young and buzzing West Coast rappers capable of pleasing both emcee traditionalists and those seeking true starpower and hit-making potential… Inglewood’s chosen son is on his way to stardom.” – HYPEBEAST
“He’s become equally adept at writing fun party slappers and ferocious pain rap dirges, gangsta rap indebted to history but hounded by the demons of the present.” – The LAnd
“He has the dexterity to spit about street life in L.A. in a way that doesn’t romanticize its harsh realities, while still remaining loose enough to pivot from those heavy topics to raps about his Instagram DMs blowing up (“How you text me off that app but you blocked?”).” – Pitchfork
“Time is of the essence for AzChike. Since 2013, the 24-year old has tried to make every moment count. Prior to being known for his storytelling abilities and bops like “Burn Rubber Again” and “Licked Up,” the rapper, who has drawn comparisons to mid-2000s Lil Wayne and 2019 XXL Freshman Blueface, began his career as a what he describes as a conscious rapper. Once he shifted gears (and quit his day job), however, he really started to get the party jumping.” – XXL
“Central L.A. rapper AzChike specializes in making songs that rattle your trunk.” – The FADER
The Album:
Tearing up the block with their street stories and function anthems, Rucci & AzChike are a match made in L.A. Rap heaven. For the latest music video from their first-ever collaborative album Kourtesy of Us, Chike and Rucci connected with Haiti Babii for the music video for album highlight “After Party.” The track is more a celebration of the California natives’ come ups than what one might expect from a song titled “After Party.” With the trio rapping in unison, “Just be yourself my n**** / Just focus on your wealth, my n****,” to close out the song, “After Party” is for raising a glass to the ones that have been along for the ride. In the Stacking Memories directed video, Rucci, Chike and Haiti Babii host a low-key studio after party with LA baddies and their closest associates.
Joining forces for their first-ever collaborative album, Chike and Rucci released Kourtesy Of Us on Friday, October 8th via Mackk&Cult / EMPIRE. The 21-track album is home to recent singles like the slinking, piano-laden “My N****s,” and the gleefully inappropriate “Hoodrat,” featuring a guest spot from Boosie BadAzz. Packed with production from maestros like Cypress Moreno, AceTheFace, Hitman, Rob Vicious, Bruce24k, and more, Kourtesy Of Us is an expansive survey of West Coast sounds, from the dramatic bass & piano lusciousness of “No Time,” to the swirling synths and insistent 808s of “Get Back Gang,” the pizzicato strut of “Fasho Poppin,” and the luxurious electric keys of “Thug P*ssy.” Throughout, Chike and Rucci remain quotable, ping-ponging verses as they demonstrate why they’re among their city’s elite. Rucci attacks the beat with a breakneck, snapping flow, while Chike’s oblique delivery finds hidden pockets in instrumentals, helping his disrespectful punchlines stand out. Featuring appearances from Kamaiyah, Boosie Badazz, Haiti Babii, Capolow, Kalan.FrFr, and many more, Kourtesy Of Us is available everywhere via Mackk&Cult/EMPIRE.
Prior to Kourtesy Of Us, Rucci and AzChike hit the streets with a line of fiery collaborations, built over a number of years. The two rappers connected with Capolow for “No Kizzy,” a Bay-meets-L.A. banger, took aim at steppers on “Who Dat,” and earlier, they honed their chemistry with the rip-roaring “Pop Pills.” They’re renowned in the streets of L.A. for creating multiple local hits, most notably 2020’s “Function In The Hood” and 2018’s “Light It Up.” Both artists are continuing the momentum from big 2020s–Rucci continued to explore his fascinating backstory with the Midget album, featuring the hit single “Understand” ft. Blxst, and AzChike kept busy with hard-hitting EPs and collaborations with the likes of Sada Baby and Frostydasnowmann.
Finally joining forces for the joint album that L.A. needs, Rucci and AzChike happily gifted their fans and their city with a new set of slaps. Join AzChike and Rucci at the official Kourtesy Of Us release show at The Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles on November 14th: https://www.axs.com/events/414195/rucci-x-azchike-tickets
EMPIRE was founded in 2010 as an artist-friendly, progressive digital distribution company. After early success, and identifying future icons such as Kendrick Lamar, Anderson .Paak, and Rich Homie Quan, EMPIRE was quickly regarded as a tastemaker in the industry and throughout the past five years evolved into a full-fledged record label, distributor and publisher for independent musicians. With the company and roster growing at a breakneck pace, EMPIRE has effectively disrupted a stale business model by bringing its energy, expertise, and acumen to its artists and labels. Today, EMPIRE works with some of music’s hottest talent, ranging from superstars such as T.I. and Snoop Dogg, red-hot newcomers such as SOB X RBE and Mozzy, and established veterans like Jim Jones and Redman. While remaining 100% independent, EMPIRE has also partnered with Atlantic Records for a joint venture, home to breakout star D.R.A.M. and propelled singles by Fat Joe & Remy Ma (“All The Way Up,” 2x Platinum), Tyga (“Taste,” 3x Platinum), and Lil Duval (“Smile”) to the top of the Billboard Hip-Hop Charts. In April 2018, EMPIRE signed a global distribution deal with Universal Music Group for select artist projects.
The Prolific and Popular Underground Rapper Connects with a Producer Signed to His TeamSESH Label, Crafting a 13-Track Effort Inspired by the Dark Edges of the Early Digital Era
Critical Praise:
“The Michigan-born rapper was one of the earliest and most influential artists to rise through the SoundCloud ranks in the early 2010s thanks to a truly unique aesthetic, an aura of mystery and a sound that would go on to be mimicked by his genre for years to come.” – HYPEBEAST
‘Already one of the most influential artists in rap and the SoundCloud underground, Bones shows no signs of slowing down.” – HYPEBEAST
“O’Connor’s short tracks, creepy videos, and one-word tweets rack up millions of social media interactions from a cult following that helped him sell out shows in 25 cities on a recent tour. The hip-hop elite is taking notice.” – The FADER
“Elmo Kennedy O’Connor was in pre-school when he became obsessed with the Southern artists of No Limit and Cash Money. Later in life, he would adopt the rap moniker Bones and amass a significant cult following. His gothic lyrical style, allergy to songs longer than two and a half minutes, and lo-fi visual aesthetic have convinced a quarter million people to subscribe to the SoundCloud page of his rap collective, TeamSESH.” – HotNewHipHop
The Album:
Restlessly creative with a massive and growing catalogue, underground rapper BONES inhabits his own musical universe. Connecting with cat soup, one of his TeamSESH producers for a 13-track new effort, BONES shares ForbiddenImage. Over the past week, the Michigan native has been teasing the album on Instagram, posting a series of videos (created and animated by cat soup) that put an eerie twist on early computer games like Myst and RuneScape. Produced in full by cat soup, the project takes sonic inspiration from that early digital aesthetic. Comprised of 6 instrumentals and 7 vocal tracks, on which BONES alternates between his locked-in spitting and compelling singing, ForbiddenImage is available now via TeamSESH/EMPIRE.
ForbiddenImage is not the first time that BONES has teamed up with fellow TeamSESH member and producer, cat soup. The two underground artists have been bouncing beats off of one another since early 2015 when BONES appeared on cat soup’s track, “it’s just a few.” Since then, the two have found inspiration in the company of one another, resulting in multiple singles as well as two albums: Slán in 2016 and Augmented in 2018. Similar to his TeamSESH founder, cat soup has a desire to constantly experiment and cannot be put into one category. His beats include sounds that range from vintage synth percussion to flute-infused melodies. Die hard TeamSESH fans know that ForbiddenImage will not be the last collaboration from BONES and cat soup.
ForbiddenImage is the prolific BONES’s fourth album of 2021. It immediately follows InLovingMemory, released in July, a dark and personal album that featured the recent single “WhiteBoyRick.” In March, BONES released PushingUpDaisies, a full-length collaborative album produced by TeamSESH producer Deergod. Featuring the single “PopRocks,” which earned praise from Stereogum, the album thrives on the impeccable chemistry between producer and rapper. Earlier this year, BONES shared hisBURDEN album and released albums recorded under the moniker surrenderdorothy onto DSPs for the first time ever.
With ForbiddenImage, BONES continues to revel in his status as an underground king, and takes the time to show off the talents of a valued collaborator to a bigger audience. Though four albums is more than many artists release in an entire career, don’t be surprised if BONES blesses the world with a fifth album later this year.
BONES has proven to be one of the most enduring, influential, and creative hip-hop artists to emerge in the early 2010s. The TeamSESH founder has recorded dozens of albums, racking up hundreds of millions of streams and feeding a fanbase that eagerly awaits his every move. Despite remaining fiercely independent and true to his underground roots, his music has permeated the mainstream–in 2015, A$AP Rocky sampled BONES’ song “Dirt” for “Canal St.” (124 million streams), and in recent years, BONES has performed in prime slots at festivals such as Rolling Loud as a member of Seshollowaterboyz (along with Xavier Wülf, Chris Travis, and Eddy Baker).

Meet @TheBeatles: the Fab Four brings their music to TikTok
The News:
Nearly 60 years after scoring their first-ever number one hit, The Beatles hold a special place in the hearts of music listeners across the globe. This #Rocktober, TikTok announces that the Fab Four have officially joined TikTok, bringing dozens of their most-beloved songs with them. Fans on TikTok will be able to follow @TheBeatles, an account dedicated to the towering legacy of John, Paul, George, and Ringo.
The Beatles’ foray onto TikTok arrives in conjunction with the global release of the Let It Be album’s remixed and expanded Special Edition by Apple Corps Ltd./Capitol/UMe. Keep an eye on @TheBeatles for exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from the Let It Be sessions (the subject of Get Back, a forthcoming Peter Jackson-directed documentary coming to Disney+ this Thanksgiving weekend: November 25, 26 and 27), along with deep dives into the creation of individual songs, featuring interviews with Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr.
For the first time ever, creators will be able to soundtrack their videos with 36 of the most iconic songs from music’s most beloved catalog. The Let It Be album’s 12 songs are now available as soundtracks for videos, including legendary hits like “Get Back,” “Across The Universe,” and the ever-staggering title track, along with cuts like the John & Paul-duet “I’ve Got A Feeling” and the George Harrison-penned “I Me Mine,” the last song The Beatles ever finished as a group.
In addition to the songs from Let It Be, The Beatles have provided all of their No. 1 U.S. and UK hits for creators to use as officially-licensed TikTok sounds. The 27 songs range from 1962’s “Love Me Do” to 1970’s “The Long and Winding Road,” capturing a snapshot of the band as they evolved from pop phenomenon to studio innovators to cultural legends. TikTok creators will be able to express affection for their special someone with “I Want To Hold Your Hand” and “Something” (and, well, several other of the greatest rock & roll love songs ever recorded), weep along with “Eleanor Rigby,” and rock out to jams like “Day Tripper,” “Paperback Writer,” and their biggest-ever hit “Hey Jude.”
John Lennon’s solo catalog was launched on TikTok last October to celebrate his 80th birthday. Paul McCartney joined TikTok last December to help celebrate the release of his new album McCartney III, and he’s been an amiable and jocular presence on the platform ever since. This past July, Ringo Starr joined TikTok as part of his annual #PeaceandLove birthday celebration. George Harrison’s solo catalog was launched in August, celebrating the release of his acclaimed All Things Must Pass album in a special 50th Anniversary Edition.
The arrival of The Beatles signals the beginning of #Rocktober, a month-long celebration of rock musicians on TikTok and the towering figures that paved the way for them.
Let us “Come Together” to celebrate the presence of The Beatles on TikTok. Use the tag “#TheBeatles” to share a video soundtracked by your favorite of the newly-arrived tracks, and follow @TheBeatles for even more.
Recently Hailed as a “Best New Artist” by Pigeons & Planes, My Favorite Color Flexes His Pen Game in an Aggressive and Atonal Banger
Critical Praise:
“Best New Artist for September 2021: It’s clear My Favorite Color is okay not taking himself too seriously and letting the music speak for itself.” = Pigeons & Planes
The Song:
Acclaimed for his malleable flows and witty pen game, My Favorite Color specializes in a strain of rap music that’s somehow both ignorant and erudite. Sending a blaring message aimed squarely at anyone who hasn’t yet recognized his titanic talent, MFC shares “Mayday,” a new single. Blessed with an unconventional instrumental that mixes saxophone bleats, white noise, and a hummable keyboard turnaround, MFC paints over the beat like Jackson Pollock, gleefully switching up cadences and contorting his voice into cartoon-like shapes. Lyrically, MFC has fun mixing party-positive flexes with tongue-twisting geopolitical analysis: “I ain’t f*ckin’ with no socialism, communism, chauvinism/Quit votin’ for the puppets, n****, don’t nobody give a f*ck so f*ck it, n****a.”
In the wake of “Old News,” My Favorite Color was named one of the Best New Artists of September 2021 by Pigeons & Planes.
Stay tuned for much more music and eye-popping videos from My Favorite Color in the coming weeks and months.
The Red Hot Memphis Rapper Connects with Pyrex Whippa for the Latest Speaker-Knocking Single From Yellow Tape 2, Coming Soon via Paper Route EMPIRE
The Song:
It might seem like he exaggerates the extent of his flyness, but Key Glock only traffics in cold hard facts. Channeling Paul Pierce as he pulls up from center court, Key Glock shares “Da Truth,” his latest single. Produced by rising trap sound architect Pyrex Whippa, “Da Truth” mixes entrancingly atmospheric keys with a relentless subwoofer assault. Sitting firmly in the pocket as he cuts through the beat’s ample negative space, Glock works a nursery rhyme-like cadence as he aims to silence those who doubt he’s one of the South’s best emcees: “Roses are red, violets are blue/I put money over b*tches, I don’t know bout you.” “Da Truth” is the latest flex-heavy banger to emerge in the lead-up to Yellow Tape 2, Key’s next album, following the chaotic, Tay Keith-produced “Ambition For Cash.“
The follow-up to 2020’s Yellow Tape, which peaked at #16 on the Billboard 200 and featured fan favorite songs like “Dough,” ‘Word on the Streets,” and “Look At They Face,“Yellow Tape 2 finds the 24-year-old artist refining his style, unleashing tighter flows, delivering cleverer punchlines, and giving even fewer f*cks. Blessed with production from an A-List of sound architects including Tennessee legends Tay Keith (Memphis), Juicy J (Memphis), and Bandplay (Nashville), plus heavy-hitters from across the rap spectrum like Sosa 808, Budda Bless, and more, the upcoming project finds Glock once again demonstrating why he’s one of the most respected lyricists in his city. The latest step in Glock’s fast rise to stardom, Yellow Tape 2 arrives later this fall via Paper Route EMPIRE.
The upcoming Yellow Tape 2 continues a busy year for Glock, as he’s spent time collaborating with his Paper Route EMPIRE associates. Earlier this year, he connected with his label boss and frequent sparring partner Young Dolph for Dum And Dummer 2, their second full-length collaborative album. Debuting at #8 on the Billboard 200, Dum & Dummer 2 generated nearly 36k sales equivalent units across platforms and scored the fifth-biggest streaming debut on Spotify during its first week of release. Earlier this month, the album received a glowing review from Pitchfork, who awarded the album a 7.5 score and cemented Young Dolph & Key Glock as a “once-in-a-generation” rap duo, akin to 8Ball & MJG or Method Man & Redman, and “one of the most in-sync alliances in the genre today.” Dum & Dummer 2 is the duo’s second Top 10 album, following the original Dum and Dummer, which also debuted at #8 in 2019. Flashing His Mastery of the Deadpan Flex, Offset Jim’s 9-Track New Album Features Guest Spots from EST Gee, Aitch, Babyface Ray, and His Close Compadre ALLBLACK
The Album:
Bursting out of the Bay with an understated flow that belies his voracious appetite for flexing, Offset Jim is a man of refined tastes. Coming through with an expertly curated series of songs, the Oakland rapper shares Rich Off The Pack, his new album. A 9-track hustler’s manifesto, Rich Off The Pack is Jim’s most expansive effort to date, blending the sounds of his hometown with voices from around the globe. Detail-oriented and methodical, Offset Jim provides a master class of money-getting in his laid-back bangers, his blasé demeanor giving the impression that he’s slowly revealing the keys to surviving and thriving in the streets. Rich Off The Pack benefits from Jim’s brilliant beat selection–the lion’s share of the album’s production comes from DTB, a Bay Area producer who specializes in glistening keys and mob-style bass, but it also features a supremely ominous beat from Kenny Beats on the lead single “Face Card.“
The album’s list of features indicates the broad support for Jim across multiple regions of the rap game. Jim’s fellow Play Runners Association rapper ALLBLACK shows up on “Stepping On N****s,“ a gleefully aggressive back-and-forth between two close friends and frequent collaborators. Rich Off The Pack rolls out the carpet for EST Gee on “Off White Mikes” and Babyface Ray on recent single “Make No Sense,” both guests jibing with Jim’s straightforward plug talk. In the album’s most unexpected collaboration, Jim goes toe-to-toe with Manchester, England native Aitch in the cross-continental dealer’s anthem “Chinese K,” which dropped earlier this week. The latest step in Offset Jim’s journey to becoming the Bay’s next self-made star, Rich Off The Pack is available everywhere via Play Runners Association/EMPIRE.
Since emerging alongside ALLBLACK in 2018 and 2019, Offset Jim has stood out in a crowded Bay Area rap scene. A native of a neighborhood in Oakland known as the Murder Dubs, Jim made a splash in 2019 with two projects–his solo effort No Pressure, which featured the local hit title track (over 3 million combined plays on Spotify and YouTube), and 22nd Ways, his collab mixtape with ALLBLACK, home to Bay Area favorites “Trip On It” (over 7 million Spotify streams) and “Fees” ft. Capolow. Offset Jim is a favorite collaborator of many on the West Coast scene, with tracks on the books with G-Eazy, Nef The Pharaoh, Shootergang Kony, Bravo The Bagchaser, and more. With Rich Off The Pack hitting the digital airwaves, Jim looks to raise his profile from local hero to national concern.
Creators Propel Iván Cornejo To Hot 100, Insane Clown Posse Builds Anticipation For Halloween and The Bee Gees, Riko Rose, and RealestK Spark New Trends
The News:
Each week, the TikTok Treats newsletter gives a snapshot of the state of music on TikTok, touching on trending hits, emerging artists, superstar moves, ascendant memes, and much more. Check out some of the most popular tracks and trends that are soaring on the platform, featuring songs that range from horrorcore hip-hop, nü-disco, and regional Mexican music:
The TikTok community never misses an opportunity to proudly show off the ones they love. In recent weeks, Mexican singer Iván Cornejo’s “Está Dañada” (945.5K creations) has taken off on the app and is soundtracking creators’ displays of affection. Inspired by the lyrics of the infectious chorus, creators have been showing off what they love about their loved ones, from their significant others to their adorable daughters. On the other hand, some creators have been using the sound to express some much needed self-love while others comically express their hope that someone will admire them for this heartfelt trend. Teasing the track on his own page in August and again in September, Iván Cornejo has been able to help push the song to skyrocket to virality. After going viral on TikTok in recent weeks, “Está Dañada” debuted at #7 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs, #96 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100, and #181 on the Global 200 ranking. It became the second regional Mexican hit ever on the Hot 100 chart.
The TikTok community has been at the forefront of the drill music boom, helping propel hits like CJ’s “Whoopty,” Dusty Locane’’s “ROLLIN N CONTROLLIN,” and several songs by the late Pop Smoke to the charts. Rhode Island rapper Riko Rose has the latest drill song that TikTok can’t get enough of– he’s making a splash on the platform with his breakout song, “Whistle.” Combining the signature elements of drill with a catchy whistle melody, Riko’s song boasts 38.7K+ creations to date. In most creations, users attempt to catch each beat of the hook using the freeze frame photo filter and show off their sturdy footwork skills. “Whistle” also soundtracks creators’ cooking tutorials, lip syncing videos, and local restaurant reviews.
As it nears the end of October, TikTok creators are more than ready to celebrate the fast-approaching Halloween holiday. A play on the classic “Cha Cha Slide,” Insane Clown Posse’s 2009 horrorcore hit “Chop Chop Slide” has amassed over 1.1M creations and supplied members of the TikTok community a way to demonstrate their creativity and show spooky season spirit. While some creators showcase their breathtaking makeup and costume skills, others are taking to the sound to flaunt their amazing painting skills. Some creators are even trying to convince themselves they stand by what they said in their risky text message, because there’s not many things more spooky than sending a possibly ill-advised text.
TikTok has continued to build a reputation for having the power to revive hits and give them new lives. The Bee Gees’ disco track “More Than A Woman” is a recent example of this phenomenon, as SG Lewis’ Paradise Edit of the track is making waves on the app. Though the original track is already a mainstay in the realm of disco, SG Lewis’ bubbly remix has rejuvenated the track on the app and garnered over 274.4K creations. The sound is perfect for best friend lookalikes who have the same taste in men, photographer friends who enjoy doing DIY projects together, and groups of friends who are eager to participate in the dance trend started by @isayuuhh.
#Rocktober is almost here and TikTok’s array of exciting surprises for the rock music celebration are yet to come. Stay tuned for TikTok’s biggest #Rocktober to date.
The Respected Oakland Rapper Connects With One of the UK’s Finest on a Zane Lowe-Endorsed New Banger From His Rich Off The Pack Project, Dropping Friday 10/15

The Announcement:
Offset Jim has the streets of Oakland on lock, but his deadpan demeanor transcends international borders. Connecting with a famous fan for his latest single, Jim shares “Chinese K,” a new banger. The new song features an appearance from Aitch, a star in his native UK. A seemingly unlikely duo, Jim and Aitch connected when the Aitch tagged Jim in an Instagram story of him rapping Jim’s hit “No Pressure” word-for-word. “Chinese K” lives firmly in Offset Jim’s sonic realm, with a propulsive and bass-heavy, mob-influenced DTB beat that encourages both rappers to bounce their smack talk off one another: “Smoke blunts big as little n****s/Dior to the floor, you in Hilfiger,” spits Jim, and Aitch retorts, “From the Bay to the UK we got a shipment/Broski in the trap, but sh*t, he run it like a business.” “Chinese K” is the latest glimpse at Rich Off The Pack, Jim’s upcoming album, following “Make No Sense,” a collaboration with Babyface Ray.
A 9-track hustler’s manifesto, Rich Off The Pack is Jim’s most expansive effort, and the latest step in his journey to becoming the Bay’s next self-made star. A detail-oriented and methodical rapper, Offset Jim’s songs are a master class in money-getting, his low tone and blasé demeanor giving the impression that he’s divulging secrets that provide the key to solving the struggles of street life. The album’s list of features indicates the broad support for Jim across multiple regions of the rap game–Jim’s close friend ALLBLACK makes an appearance, but the artist also rolls out the red carpet for Louisville’s EST Gee, Detroit’s Babyface Ray, and Kenny Beats, who provides the ominous instrumental for the buzzing single “Face Card.” Currently available for pre-save/pre-order Rich Off The Pack arrives on October 15th via Play Runners Association/EMPIRE.
A member of Play RunnersAssociation, along with close friend ALLBLACK, Offset Jim has stood out in a crowded Bay Area rap scene.
With Rich Off The Pack coming soon, Offset Jim is looking to raise his profile from local hero to national concern.

The 20-Year-Old Rapper/Singer Enjoys a Party with Casamigos and Red Cups in the Video For His Latest Rap-N-B Jam
Critical Praise:
“It seems Chino Cappin’ has found his own lane, and he performs best when he puts his impressive voice to use.” – HotNewHipHop
“He explores his relationships with his loved ones on the deeply personal track” – UPROXX
“Dirty South influences and driving top lines set Chino Cappin apart” – Dummy Mag
The Video:
Rising out of Georgia’s busy music scene with his silky smooth pipes, Chino Cappin splits the difference between hard-nosed trap and romantic R&B. Presenting himself at his most seductive, the 20-year-old Georgia native shares “Til The Morning,” a sultry new slow jam. Skating atop wah-wah-ing guitars and swelling keyboards, Chino spins an explicit bedroom jam, using the raspy edges of his voice to work an in-the-pocket cadence that slides between the song’s 808s. In the video, Chino presides over a bustling house party, as he pours Casamigos tequila and dances with beautiful women. Available to view on YouTube, “Til The Morning” is the latest video to follow in the wake of Ladders, Chino’s new project, out now via Alamo Records.
Home to recent videos like the Willie Hutch-sampling “Money On My Mind” and the playful “Still Loading,“Ladders drips with the bravado of a man confident in his abilities, like on the recent single, “Hot Sh*t” ft. Metro Marrs, but also demonstrates the maturity necessary to describe complex relationship scenarios with relatable lyrics. Ladders is home to highlights like the aspirational “Shine,“ and the sultry break-up anthem “Fake Love.” Chino explores new dimensions of his character on introspective songs like “Feelings” and romantic tracks like “Sunshine.” Imbued with Chino’s deep love of music and his gratitude for escaping out the mud on the back of his talent, Ladders finds the Alamo Records-signed artist as he’s ready to explode out of his hometown in rural Georgia and draw new connections between rap and R&B on a national scale. Featuring an appearance from 1017’s Enchanting, Ladders is available to stream everywhere via Alamo Records.
Born and raised in Fort Valley, Georgia, just outside of Atlanta, Chino focused on music as a teenager as a way to escape his rough circumstances. The rapper built a cult following in the Southeast with mixtapes like Cold Hearted and Too Many Losses, which combined strong melodic instincts with braggadocious bars and clear-eyed observations about life on the streets. The then-teenaged artist built buzz with a successful college tour, turning up the heat with singles like “Lap Dance,” “NaNaNa,” “Fake Love,” and “Different,” a collaboration with YSL-affiliated rapper Yak Gotti. He’s earned praise from UPROXX and Dummy Mag, and told his story in an interview with Dirty-Glove Bastard. Earlier this year, Chino shared F*CC It BaCC To The BasiCs, a new mixtape that finds Chino rhyming over instrumentals from all eras, including samples of songs by Moneybagg Yo, Usher, and more.
With Ladders, Chino shows what he’s capable of, as he declares his intentions to grow from local star to national name.
Ladders tracklist:
1. Still Loading
2. Money On My Mind
3. Lap Dance (Remix) ft. Enchanting
4. Love You Better
5. Hot Sh*t ft. Metro Marrs
6. I Thought They Told You
7. Sunshine
8. Fake Love
9. Feelings
10. Shine
Chino Cappin is a lyricist and singer of many hats. First and foremost, he’s the voice of the streets, with a background in the slums that has given him the creative drive to progress in the packed hip-hop industry. But in addition to his rough and gruff image, he’s a fun-loving goofball, intense creative, and mastermind of charisma. With co-signs from No Jumper and the UK’s Dummy Mag, it’s clear many people from around the world have begun to tune in to hear what Chino’s been saying and continues to say. To date, Chino has amassed over 1.1 million streams, 900,000+ views, and an Instagram following of 28k+. These are authentic, consistent numbers that reveal a fanbase genuinely attracted to Chino in all capacities. His impact can be attributed to his authentic approach to rap and, surprisingly, his process of making music which is a unique take on two well-tested methods. He typically looks to select beats that evoke emotion and then lay down melodies and write to them. However, he also enjoys going off the top with whatever he’s feeling in the moment as well.
Slimelife Shawty’s raw emotional honesty has won him the respect of the biggest names in rap. Ready to compile his pearls of street wisdom and loyalty anthems into a hard-hitting full-length, the ATL native announces Better Living, his forthcoming project. With additional appearances from Jackboy,Nardo Wick, and more, Better Living arrives on October 13th via Alamo Records.
Along with the official announcement of the album, Slime connects with his mentor Lil Durk to share “Suit Me Up.” Trading verses above dramatic keys and upbeat percussion, Slime and Durk answer the call of the streets, reminiscing about their rough-and-tumble pasts in their signature melodic styles. Using a tumbling and conversational flow that makes his confessions feel even more immediate, Slime explains how and why he’s determined to do it big for his neighborhood: “Momma I’m sorry but the streets took a part of me,” sings Slimelife on the hook. “Suit Me Up” is just the latest single to be released from Better Living, following the emotional “Where’s The Love,” the determined “Still At It,” the powerful “Slatt Bizness” (over 1.5 million views since its early August release), and the poignant “Baby Boy,” which has over 2.1 million YouTube views since its release in May.

“Rolling Loud is the be-all of hip-hop festivals.” – Billboard

“In only its fifth year with four major destinations and more in the pipeline overseas, athletes, celebrities and others are forking over as much as $20,000 for VIP packages. Of course, imitators are cropping up.” – Pollstar
“…within five years Rolling Loud has grown into one of the biggest hip-hop brands in the world. Locally, it has surpassed rival events Ultra and III Points in stature and rivals prestige festivals like Coachella.” – Miami New Times
About Rolling Loud
Founded by Matt Zingler & Tariq Cherif as a one-day Miami show in 2015, Rolling Loud has grown into a global festival phenomenon, putting on shows on both coasts and in multiple countries. Rolling Loud is the premier festival brand in hip-hop, known for its expert curation of wide-ranging lineups that reflect the state of the genre.
The festival returns from a 18-month hiatus on July 23rd-25th, with the sold out Rolling Loud Miami 2021, its biggest event yet, bringing in over 85,000 fans per day to Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, FL. With headliners Travis Scott, Post Malone and A$AP Rocky, Rolling Loud Miami 2021 is a triumphant return for live rap music, and a coming out party for risers and new superstars eager to play in front of a festival crowd. Rolling Loud Miami kicks off a massive year for the festival brand, arriving ahead of Rolling Loud New York, headlined by Travis Scott, J. Cole, and 50 Cent, in October and Rolling Loud California, headlined by J. Cole, Kid Cudi, and Future, in December.
During the pandemic, Rolling Loud expanded into much more than just a live festival company. With no in-person show possibilities in sight, Rolling Loud pivoted to become a heavy-hitter in the world of Livestreaming, drawing millions of unique viewers and landing multiple events in Pollstar’s Year-End Livestream Chart. In June 2021, Rolling Loud launched Rolling Loud Presents, their first venture into tour promotions, taking the Rolling Loud experience on the road with a series of tours headlined by some of the biggest stars in hip-hop, including Rod Wave, Trippie Redd, Jack Harlow, and more to be announced.
