Rich Amiri & Desire Get In Their “Feelings” in a New Video

  • Press Release

Rich Amiri & Desire Get In Their “Feelings” in a New Video

    8.17.2022

Video: Rich Amiri – “Feelings” ft. Desire

The Boston-Area Teenager Teams with a Louisiana Pluggnb Riser For a Subdued and Smooth Video From His Debut Tape For The Better

    Critical Praise:

“For someone who has only been rapping for two years, Rich continues to deliver nothing but perfection track after track.” Lyrical Lemonade

    The Video:

A talented teenager with a lush and velvety voice, Rich Amiri is primed to take over the game. Sharing a new duet with a fellow riser, Amiri turns up in Texas in Feelings,” his new music video from his For The Better project. Belting over bouncing 808s, Amiri stretches syllables like taffy as he explains the mixed emotions that come from newfound fame–from hangers-on asking for favors to increased attention from the fairer sex. Louisiana rapper Desire tags in for the second verse, his higher register mixing nicely with Amiri’s baritone. Directed by @Siennaburmess, the video for “Feelings” finds both rappers relaxing in a Houston hotel, as the mutating, wavy visual effects reflect the disorienting feeling described in the lyrics.

“Feelings” is the latest missive from the busy, Boston-born 18-year-old. Earlier this month, Amiri shared the video for the chest-thumping, Cxdy & Taz Taylor-produced single Can’t Die,” and served up a double-dose of rage with the release of singles “ruthless” and “trouble.” In June, the rapper shared For The Better, his debut project. Featuring appearances from SSGKobeSummrs, and others, the 8-song effort showcased Amiri’s beyond-his-years maturity and sharp songwriting, while Internet Money helped craft a soundscape that suited his inimitable voice.

Since he started uploading songs to his SoundCloud in 2020, Rich Amiri has established himself as a fixture in rap’s burgeoning melodic underground. He first earned recognition with his 2021 song Never Fail,” which surpassed 2.7 million plays on SoundCloud, and he struck again late last year with his bubbling hit “Walk In.” Most recently, the young artist shared the video for his For The Better highlight “Bounty.”

With the respect of his peers and a fast-growing fanbase, Rich Amiri is on the path to stardom. Stay tuned for much more from the rising rapper in the near future.

    Watch “Feelings” ft. Desire: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9HpEe0KELM

Please contact Michelle or Kevin for more info.

    The Background:

Hypnotic and honeyed, Rich Amiri’s voice is like little else in rap. Having only recently started taking music seriously, his syrupy melodies have already helped him stand out from his peers in plugg&B–a slurry blend of soul and cloud rap that’s been taking over the internet. Amiri’s humble and nonchalant about his gifts but that hasn’t stopped him from becoming one of his scene’s most free-associative songwriters. He switches lanes with grace, as evidenced by some of the highlights from his recent EP Chase. Tracks like “J10” are low-key and sensitive, while “Never Fail” allows him room to rage, showing off his many sides in quick succession. Though the 18-year-old hails from Boston, he’s a child of the internet who’s been uploading bedroom recordings to SoundCloud since 2020. Like many Gen Z stars, Amiri is something of a one-man army. He says even before he made music, he was on TikTok “from sunup to sundown,” meaning he knew exactly how to get “Never Fail” to go viral—and it’s now inching toward 2 million SoundCloud streams. He’s aligned with the proudly independent 10K Projects, but he has no interest in messing with a successful formula. Amiri’s just getting started, but he’s already starting to accomplish his goals, reaching fans and sharing his innermost feelings. And yet, he’s quickly learned not to force anything. He’s made it this far by trusting his gut, after all. “If it’s a good beat, it’ll speak to me,” he says. “Then I make it speak to other people, too. “

Ron Suno Gets Jersey Sturdy in “ONE NIGHT”

  • Press Release

Ron Suno Gets Jersey Sturdy in “ONE NIGHT”

    8.16.2022

Video: Ron Suno – “ONE NIGHT

The King of the Bronx Takes a Journey to Jersey in New Video for Standout Track from SUNO MODE

    Critical Praise:

“Whether he’s getting tons of retweets because he danced with Hip Hop Harry on Instagram, or churning out yet another song that shows off his personality, the rapper finds a way to keep all eyes in his direction.”XXL

“Posting skits that exude his loud personality and hilarious sense-of-humor, his #WeaveChallenge became an instant sensation — cementing his name in the entertainment industry.” – FLAUNT

    The Video:

As he strives to expand his empire beyond the borough that birthed hip-hop, Ron Suno is certainly no stranger to breaking boundaries. When in New Jersey, Ron does as New Jerseyans do with his new video for “ONE NIGHT.” A standout from the recent SUNO MODE project, the track showcases Ron’s genre-bending abilities as he delivers his signature fast-paced flows over a thumping Jersey Club beat injected with elements of Bronx drill.

“‘ONE NIGHT’ spoke to some of the more Jersey sounds that I know are popping off and I wanted to combine that with the Bronx sound,” says Ron Suno. “I want to work with more Jersey and Philly artists because once you hear it, you know that’s where they’re from.”

Shot by Benny Max, the video for “ONE NIGHT” finds Ron and company making the club look like a dub compared to the backyard kickback they’re turning up. With red solo cups, an assortment of bottles, and lawn furniture scattered throughout the scene, the clip evokes the nostalgia of unforgettable memories made at pre-games and after-parties that outshined the main event.

Already a proven inspiration to the youth with the project’s viral single, “What They Gon Say” (over 22 million Spotify streams and 12 million YouTube views) and its Rowdy Rebel-featuring remixSUNO MODE elevates Ron’s infectious energy to new heights. Whether he’s blending his Bronx drill sound with familiar favorites on “OH LETS DO IT” or letting his refreshingly reflective side shine on “FALL OFF,” the fast-paced project progresses without a dull moment. The new project is home to “SHOES” ft. DUSTY LOCANE & Rah Swish (2.3 million+ views in three weeks), a showcase for New York’s sturdiest steppers.

Lou Phelps Vibes into the Abyss in “Here We Go” Video

    8.12.2022

Video: Lou Phelps – “Here We Go

The Montreal Maestro Melts into the Music in Video for Self-Produced Single from his Touché EP

    Critical Praise:

“His easy confidence helps him find a knocking pace that matches the hard-hitting drums undergirding the production” – Pitchfork

“Meet Lou Phelps, the Montreal Rapper Stepping Into His Own Light” – DJ BOOTH

“The single is hip-hop to its roots, with Phelps’ rapping providing the driving force” – Dancing Astronaut

    The Video:

With an unassuming aesthetic and a flow for any occasion, Lou Phelps approaches music with an effortlessness that seems to be second nature. Today, the Montreal-native innovator moves with the music in his new video for “Here We Go,” the lead single from Touché, his recent EP.  “Here We Go” marked Lou’s first self-produced release, with the other two songs on the EP featuring production from his older brother, KAYTRANADA.

“I produced it, I arranged it, and I delivered the performance. It’s all me. It feels like I have a baby,” says Lou Phelps.

Like the track itself, the video for “Here We Go” is all Lou. Directed by Igal Perets, the clip opens with its most organic image, with Lou taking a seat on a dimly lit black soundstage. As the track begins, the camera slowly zooms in on Lou rapping the tracks opening bars as he’s circled seductively by a black-clad woman. When the beat begins to build and the visual fades to black, any sense of place and context dissipates. All that’s left is Lou and the music, and as he locks onto the atmospheric complexities of the instrumental with his dextrous flow, the subtle visual grows increasingly abstract, with hypnotic reconstructions of the same simple elements.

Touché is Lou’s first release with Rostrum Records, and is released in conjunction with Stand Up Guy Records, a new imprint founded by KAYTRANADA, of which Lou is partner. The follow-up to 2020’s Extra Extra project, and to “Sound Of Money,” Lou’s recent collaboration with MadlibTouché EP is a turning point for the young rapper as he looks to expand his empire from his MTL hometown to the rest of the world, Touché is available everywhere via Rostrum Records/Stand Up Guy Records.

    The Background

A  fixture in the bustling Montreal underground, Lou Phelps makes music that’s as easy to dance to as it is hard to classify. Lou started making music in 2011 with his older brother Kevin, aka the Polaris Prize-winning producer KAYTRANADA, forming a future-rap group called The Celestics. Using the moniker Louie P, Lou developed a reputation for creating tasteful and danceable electro rap. The artist earned a JUNO Award nomination for his 2017 debut project, 001 Experiments, and in 2018, made waves online with his project 002 / LOVE ME and its highlight track “Come Inside.” Since releasing his EXTRA EXTRA EP in 2020, home to the hit single “Must Be” (4.7+ million Spotify streams) Lou Phelps has been biding his time, waiting for the perfect time to strike with his most creatively fulfilling music yet. Now signed to Rostrum Records, Lou Phelps is ready to let the world know that no one can do it like he can.
