Earlier this week, Ticketmaster announced an integration with TikTok that enables users to discover and purchase tickets to various live events–including concerts, sporting events, and comedy shows–directly from TikTok. Whether you’re an artist, sports team, venue or event organizer looking to create awareness of your events or a fan looking to enrich your content by promoting your favorite shows or match-ups, this new mini-app will allow creators to engage with their audience through a clickable ‘Get Tickets’ call-to-action on your videos. The Ticketmaster integration launches as a limited pilot, offered to a number of creators in the US and Canada. Though only those creators will be able to add links to their videos, the videos and the links will be viewable and clickable by TikTok users across the globe. Stay tuned to see how users utilize the new Ticketmaster integration!

Rot Ken Rolls Down the Road Home in a “Foreign”

  • Press Release

Rot Ken Rolls Down the Road Home in a “Foreign”

    8.4.2022

    Video: Rot Ken – “Foreign

The Internet Money/Spaceboy Productions Riser is Homeward Bound in New Video from Free Me Project

    Critical Praise:

“His most recent offering “007” is definitely going to have you bobbing your head and realizing why he’s beginning to gain some much-deserved traction with his music.” – Lyrical Lemonade

“Touting hard-hitting 808s and iridescent ad-libs, Ken’s passionate vocals are the star of the show, coming through with waves of self-reflective depth and power to overcome the adversity he faces.” – Our Generation Music

    The Song + Video:

With his raw, unfiltered bars that flow through freeform melodies with a sharpened timbre, Rot Ken is not to be overlooked. The young leader of Georgia’s newest wave of artists continues his celebration of his newfound freedom with a new video for his JetsonMade-produced track, “Foreign,” from his recent Free Me project. Ken floats over the buoyant beat, foregoing traditional traditional song structure in favor of free flowing, extemporaneous verse, while dropping gems like, “Sipped it out the bottle, baby girl, now I need a nap/She say I’m moving slow just like her granddaddy/N****s got it, but yeah, I done been had it.”

The Man Films-directed “Foreign” video continues the artist’s homecoming, which launched last week with his new video single, “Rollin.” As the “Foreign” video opens with Ken hanging out the sunroof of a red convertible, the track’s triumphant, fast-paced horns create the sense of nerve, wonder, and excitement that can only come from a prodigal son’s return. As he makes his way into the city, he’s greeted by a billboard reading, “Free Rot Ken,” before returning home to wander around the kitchen, try on all the clothes in his closet, and take stock of each individual blessing he’s now free to relish.

Though Ken has been away for much of 2022, his presence was still heavily felt. In May, the Internet Money/Spaceboy Productions artist shared Free Me, a 17-track project that showed his range, and demonstrated his singular ability to cut through immersive production with effervescent flows. The Augusta native’s project featured underground hits like “Baby Choppa” (1.6 million Spotify streams), “Heartbreak Kid” (1.6 million Spotify streams), and “Beautiful,” a collaboration with SoFaygo that racked up over 3.2 million Spotify streams. With additional appearances from Kalan.FrFrHunxho, and 21 Lil Harold, the 17-track Free Me project is available everywhere now.

    The Announcement:

The music of Louisville collective The Homies thrives on an infectious communal energy, radiating a love of creating art and standing up for their hometown. On August 10th, The Homies (Ace Pro2forwOyNEShloob & Quiiso) continue an annual tradition, bringing back their Celebrity Kickball Tournament to raise money for two Louisville-based community organizations: Norton’s Children’s Hospital and AMPED. Hosted by Private Garden, the creative collective founded by The Homies and Jack Harlow, the anticipated celebrity kickball tournament (presented by Planet Fitness) returns to Jim Patterson Stadium, the home of Louisville Cardinals baseball, on August 10th, 2022 from 6:00-9:30pm. Buy tickets HERE.

The event will be hosted by Taylor Rooks, and will feature four teams competing for kickball supremacy. The Homies, Jack Harlow, and Cole Bennett highlight the Private Garden team, comprised of Louisville native artists and others. Promising a new frontier for one of the NCAA’s firecest rivalries, the tourney fields the Louisville Legends, team of former Louisville Cardinals (like former NFL WRs Deion Branch and Harry Douglas, former NCAA standout Peyton Siva), also featuring Minnesota Timberwolves star and L’ville native D’Angelo Russell, who will square off against the Kentucky Legends, including former University of Kentucky ballers like Brandon KnightWillie Cauley-Stein, and more. The prohibitive favorite, however, is likely the Planet Fitness team, comprised of many members of the LouCity FC MLS squad, as well as other Louisvillains like former NFL DE Frostee Rucker and Miss Kentucky Lizzy Neutz. View an expanded roster of participants below, with more names potentially to come.

The Homies Celebrity Kickball Tournament arrives as The Homies prepare for the release of It’s A Lot Going On, their next studio album. The album is home to recent single “Thirsty,” which combines elements of two late ’00s rap cuts–using a sped-up sample of Drake’s “Houstatlantavegas” and vocals of Missy Elliott’s “Ching-A-Ling”–into a cohesive and incredibly catchy whole, and “Shake,” which dropped earlier this summer with a Hype Williams-inspired video. Entirely created by the four Homies themselves, Ace Pro, Shloob, 2forwOyNE, and Quiiso, It’s A Lot Going On drops on August 19th.

With much more music on deck, an including the upcoming It’s A Lot Goin’ On, and an unshakeable passion for their craft, The Homies are ready to follow in the footsteps of their friend Jack Harlow from the Louisville underground to the rap mainstream. Sit back, and watch their rise.

It’s Big Moochie Grape’s Money and He Needs It “Right Now”

    8.2.2022

Video: Big Moochie Grape – “Right Now” ft. Kenny Muney

The Paper Route Empire Pair Get Paid By Any Means Necessary in Latest Video from Big Moochie Grape’s East Haiti Baby

    The Video:

Big Moochie Grape might have a “gigantic” payroll, but his patience is razor thin. Returning to reclaim his riches alongside fellow Paper Route Empire signee, Kenny Muney, Moochie shares his latest video for “Right Now,” a standout track from his East Haiti Baby project. Backed by a booming instrumental by fellow Memphis native RealRed, the track combines the menacing bounce of Memphis trap with the relentless money-hunger of a J.G. Wentworth advert, with Moochie rapping, “I want the money, lil b****, I can’t wait/Paper Route Hockey Team, b****, we gon’ ice skate.”

Directed by Howard Ross, the video for “Right Now” shows the lengths Moochie and Kenny are willing to go to in their pursuit of these millions. The video opens on a small house whose inhabitants are counting up stacks of money and packing it into shoeboxes, as Moochie, Kenny, and company kick the door with tools in hand, ordering everyone to hit the deck. As Moochie holds down the living room, Kenny has two lingerie-clad ladies escort him to where the jackpot’s stashed. Once the bag is secured, the pair hop into their getaway car with their new lady friends in tow, riding off into the night after their “gigantic” lick.

Aided by signature Tennessee-style production from BandplaySosa 808Ayoza, and more, East Haiti Baby chronicles Moochie’s rise from the trap to the top, showcasing the street acumen and sly grin that has him rising in his city and beyond. Continuing a dominant year for Paper Route Empire as they honor Dolph’s legacy, Moochie enlists Key Glock and Kenny Muney for features, and shares a new verse from Young Dolph himself on mixtape highlight “Fun.” Whether he’s bouncing over a Bill Withers’ sample on “East Haiti Baby,” belting out cash-crazed melodies on “Money Money Money,” or swapping spitfire flows with Dolph on “Fun,” the Memphis native’s colorful charisma shines throughout the 15-track tape.

With East Haiti Baby, Big Moochie Grape is determined to hit big and keep Paper Route Empire’s winning streak going strong. Stay tuned for more from Moochie and PRE–including Jay Fizzle’s upcoming tape DonnaFizzle– in the coming weeks.

“He’s getting the right co-signs….sky’s the limit for the kid.” – Carl LaMarre, Billboard on Sirius XM

“The new face of drill music” – NME

“It’s been a busy, busy year for West London’s Central Cee. The rapper’s Wild West mixtape, released in the first half of the year, sent him jetting into the big time and things haven’t really slowed down since. A newly reopened live circuit welcomed Cench with open arms and he’s still found time for collabs with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Fredo, OhGeesy, Blanco and quite a few more besides.” – Complex

“Gritty street-level drill from magnetic talent” – The Guardian

“It’s clear the 23-year-old rhymer has made a leap as a clever lyricist” – i-D

“The Party-Starting Rapper Injecting Fun into Drill””- Noisey

Central Cee’s announcement of the “Still Loading World Tour” arrives on the heels of “Doja,” the rapper’s viral new smash. The track marked a huge moment, as Central Cee becomes the first ever UK artist to have a video directed by the iconic Cole Bennett, and hosted on Lyrical Lemonade. “Doja” racked up over 25 million streams in the ten days since its release, and over 17 million views on its YouTube video, en route to a #2 debut on the UK’s Official Charts. The song is a worldwide smash, marking his highest charting positions in Australia, Germany, Benelux, and more, and reaching Spotify’s Top 10 Daily Plays in 21 markets. The video is #9 on YouTube Trending in the U.S., and the song is tearing up TikTok, where it has inspired 750k video creations and over 750 million video views.

With an international appeal and high anticipation around his every move, Central Cee is the UK’s hottest and most followed rapper, with a social audience of over 8 million, and an awe-inspiring 2 Billion global artist streams. Transcending the UK rap scene, 65% of Central Cee’s fans are outside of the UK, with him regularly charting across the globe.

Earlier this year, the West London hailing rapper whipped up a frenzy with the release of his critically acclaimed 23 mixtape – a project that debuted at Number 1 in the UK official charts, and followed on from 2021’s Wild West, which was the highest selling British debut project of the year.

Accolades are numerous for this high-flying young artist. Following on from his chart-scaling single and platinum viral hit “Obsessed With You,”  Cench released a GRM Daily Duppy, which went on to be the highest charting in history. Earning a stellar position in 2022’s BBC Sound Poll, Central Cee consequently received an astounding three Brit Award nominations – for Best New Artist, Best Song and Best British Hip Hop, Rap, Grime act. Not forgetting his feature on the platinum-certified “Overseas” with D-Block Europe, which was one of 2022’s highest selling UK Rap singles.

A keen fashion head, Cench has previously dropped a limited run of merch in collaboration with UK Streetwear brands Corteiz,  and Trapstar, both of which sold out in minutes.

With co-signs from The Guardian, Pitchfork, NME, Clash, Complex, Crack, Lil Baby, Big Sean, Wizkid, Jacquemus, Louis Vuitton, Virgil Abloh and Drake, Central Cee is the biggest name of the moment and impossible to ignore.

    The Background:

Central Cee has an undeniable magnetism. On Christmas Day 2021, in the wake of his enormous Pink Pantheress-sampling single “Obsessed With You,”  he released a GRM Daily Duppy (a performance on one of the UK’s most popular street rap platforms), which went on to be the highest charting in history. This year, after a stellar position in 2022’s BBC Sound Poll, Central Cee consequently received an astounding three BRIT Award nominations, for Best New ArtistBest Song, and Best British Hip Hop, Rap, Grime act. Late last year, Central Cee won Best Male Artist and Breakthrough Artist of The Year at the GRM Awards, accolades which add to his already incredible position as Spotify’s Radar Artist and YouTube’s Artist On The Rise, not to mention his recent double gong win at the MOBO Awards for Best Newcomer and Best Drill Act. The young superstar is currently gracing the cover of The Face Magazine, where he reveals the motivations that drive his rapid rise to the top.

Astounding fans and critics alike, CC’s independently released debut mixtape Wild West was the highest selling independent project of 2021 and 2021’s only UK debut project to go Gold. The mixtape landed in the wake of the hugely successful singles “Loading” and “Commitment Issues”, breaking internationally and sending his name reverberating across the globe. Cench has a keen eye for fashion–on his debut tape campaign, Cench collaborated with UK Streetwear brands Corteiz,  and Trapstar on merch lines, both of which sold out within 60 minutes. The 23 mixtape campaign follows on in this vein, with CC releasing his own 23 merch, creating a fan-art led physical edition of the tape, and collaborating with Trapstar on a merch line once again.

With co-signs from The Guardian, Pitchfork, NME, Clash, The Face, Complex, Crack, the late Virgil Abloh and other global music icons, Central Cee is taking over, and the 23 mixtape’s arrival is certain to propel him even further on his unparalleled journey.

    The Video:

With a chip on his shoulder and the Bay on his back, Suigeneris is rap’s youngest veteran. With his seasoned, explosive delivery and tireless drive, the 18-year-old mogul is back again to share his new video for “DOWN.” The yvngxchris-assisted track, which kicked off Suie’s streak of loose singles this summer, features a pitched-up soul instrumental seamlessly weaved into the hard-biting trap aesthetic embodied by the pair of turnt up teens.

The video for “DOWN,” which peaked at #12 on SoundCloud’s New & Hot chart earlier this summer, finds the young rap duo going all out in the studio. Though they’re hard at work behind the mic at times, and raging like there’s no tomorrow at others, it’s often hard to tell the difference as the pair applies an equal share of their high-octane energy to both.

“DOWN” arrives shortly after Suie’s incendiary performance on Apple’s “Fire In The Booth,” hosted by Charlie Sloth. Paying tribute to his heritage with a Mexican flag draped on his head, the West Coast native tears up a gritty East Coast instrumental, eschewing melody and proving his lyrical bonafides. Suie’s “Fire In The Booth” freestyle is available to watch on Apple Music’s YouTube.

Suigeneris has been on a tear recently, stacking his SoundCloud page with heater after heater. Most recently, the artist returned to his high school with the explosive “BACK IN MY CITY,” and deconstructed the structure of a hit with his fierce “Song.” The CEO of his own clothing brand Demons N Angels a.k.a. DNA, a streetwear company with eye-popping design and skyrocketing sales, Suigeneris is always in the studio, cooking up his next batch of heat. Stay tuned for much more from the rap prodigy as the summer moves along.

Introduced to hip-hop by his brothers, Suigeneris experienced his first taste of success at the young age of 13, when his video “Pull Up” caught fire in the Bay Area to the tune of 1.6 million YouTube views. Since then, Suie’s career trended ever upward. “Pull Up” caught the ear of Landon Cube, who brought Suie on as an opening act for his tour. Through Cube, Suie met Lil Skies, who appreciated Suie’s melodic mastery enough to collaborate with him on “Now” (6.2 million Spotify streams, 3.6 million YT views). His 2019 mixtape Suinami earned more than 15 million streams on Spotify alone, and 20 million across all platforms. Now 16, and with over 415k monthly listeners on Spotify, Suie is preparing to release Demons N Angels, a double EP that comments on his dual nature–Romeo and Damien, singer and rapper.

Rich Amiri Follows Up ‘For The Better’ Project With a Rage-Friendly 2-Pack

  • Press Release

Rich Amiri Follows Up ‘For The Better’ Project With a Rage-Friendly 2-Pack

    7.29.2022

Rich Amiri Releases “ruthless” & “trouble,” Two Brand New Singles

The Boston-Area Rhymer Continues His Rise With a Brash and Smooth New Banger, His First New Song Since His For The Better EP

    Critical Praise:

“For someone who has only been rapping for two years, Rich continues to deliver nothing but perfection track after track.” Lyrical Lemonade

    The Songs:

Navigating adventurous instrumentals with suavity and poise, Rich Amiri stands out from the crowd with his rich vocal timbre. Treating his fans to a two-pack of energetic singles, the talented teenager shares “ruthless” and “trouble,” a pair of brand new songs that taste great together. Produced by Synthetic, geogotbands & ssor.t, “ruthless” gets its power from the contrast between its subsonic bass and hyperactive synths, as Amiri cuts through the noise with his velvety triplets. “trouble” raises the energy level even higher–Amiri utters a torrent of breathless bars over an insistent, rage-friendly instrumental from Maajins & Pooka.

“ruthless” and “trouble” continue a busy year for the 18-year-old riser. Last month, the Boston-area native shared For The Better, his debut project. Featuring appearances from SSGKobeSummrs, and others, the 8-song effort showcased Amiri’s beyond-his-years maturity and sharp songwriting, while Internet Money helped craft a soundscape that suited his inimitable voice.

Since he started uploading songs to his SoundCloud in 2020, Rich Amiri has established himself as a fixture in rap’s burgeoning melodic underground. He first earned recognition with his 2021 song Never Fail,” which surpassed 2.7 million plays on SoundCloud, and he struck again late last year with his bubbling hit “Walk In.” Most recently, the young artist shared the video for his For The Better highlight “Bounty.”

With the respect of his peers, he’s recently collabed with ragers like iayze and Slump6s, Rich Amiri is on the path to stardom. Stay tuned for much more from the rising rapper in the near future.

    The Background:

Hypnotic and honeyed, Rich Amiri’s voice is like little else in rap. Having only recently started taking music seriously, his syrupy melodies have already helped him stand out from his peers in plugg&B–a slurry blend of soul and cloud rap that’s been taking over the internet. Amiri’s humble and nonchalant about his gifts but that hasn’t stopped him from becoming one of his scene’s most free-associative songwriters. He switches lanes with grace, as evidenced by some of the highlights from his recent EP Chase. Tracks like “J10” are low-key and sensitive, while “Never Fail” allows him room to rage, showing off his many sides in quick succession. Though the 18-year-old hails from Boston, he’s a child of the internet who’s been uploading bedroom recordings to SoundCloud since 2020. Like many Gen Z stars, Amiri is something of a one-man army. He says even before he made music, he was on TikTok “from sunup to sundown,” meaning he knew exactly how to get “Never Fail” to go viral—and it’s now inching toward 2 million SoundCloud streams. He’s aligned with the proudly independent 10K Projects, but he has no interest in messing with a successful formula. Amiri’s just getting started, but he’s already starting to accomplish his goals, reaching fans and sharing his innermost feelings. And yet, he’s quickly learned not to force anything. He’s made it this far by trusting his gut, after all. “If it’s a good beat, it’ll speak to me,” he says. “Then I make it speak to other people, too. “

DUSTY LOCANE Stays Golden in “ROLLIN N CONTROLLIN Pt. 3 (BEEN ROLLIN)”

  • Press Release

DUSTY LOCANE Stays Golden in “ROLLIN N CONTROLLIN Pt. 3 (BEEN ROLLIN)”

    7.29.2022

Video: DUSTY LOCANE – “ROLLIN N CONTROLLIN Pt. 3 (BEEN ROLLIN)

The Canarsie Native Continues To Roll and Control in the Latest Sequel to His GOLD-Selling Debut Single; Stay Tuned For DUSTY’s FEVA FINESSA EP, Coming Later This Summer

    Critical Praise:

“A rumbling voice that could be picked up on a seismograph” – Pitchfork

“He’s going to be a force to be reckoned with, and he knows it.” – Lyrical Lemonade

“…hard-hitting rhymes that will surely be heard blaring over car stereos in Brooklyn.” – HotNewHipHop

    The Video:

A smooth mover whose booming voice resonates with the grit and gravel of the Brooklyn streets, DUSTY LOCANE has staked his claim as the coldest in Canarsie. Determined to expand his dominance beyond the Five Boroughs and onto the global stage, DUSTY returns to reassert his bonafides with “ROLLIN N CONTROLLIN Pt. 3 (BEEN ROLLIN).” The third installment of the hit debut freestyle that catapulted a 21-year-old DUSTY into drill stardom, “ROLLIN N CONTROLLIN Pt. 3” finds a 23-year-old DUSTY reminding listeners who they’re dealing with through a more refined, resonant roar: “I ain’t never d*** ride, switch sides, just for a favor/Try to go against mine, brought six nines, if he tellin’ in the paper.”

The MIDAS-directed video for “ROLLIN N CONTROLLIN Pt.3” finds DUSTY and his blue-clad cohort mobbing out in Washington D.C. Whether he’s flanked by his bandana-waving contingent, standing on his own, or riding around the city in a black Escalade, it’s clear that even in our nation’s Capitol, the only one who represents DUSTY is himself.

Following recent clips like the booming “BIG WOOS” (2 million views), the Yung Bleu-featuring “WHAT YOU NEED” (1.9 million views), and the high-octane “REWIND” (2.2 million views), “ROLLIN N CONTROLLIN Pt. 3” marks DUSTY’s first single since his debut album UNTAMED, which capped off a massive 2021 for the 23-year-old artist. In December, DUSTY joined the exclusive ranks of artists like Olivia RodrigoCoi LerayPooh Shiesty, and many more, as a member of the #RIAAClassOf2021 after receiving his first GOLD certification this year with his debut single, “ROLLIN N CONTROLLIN FREESTYLE,” which racked up over 200 million combined streams. The EMPIRE artist struck gold again with “Rolando (Caught In The Rain)” (86 million Spotify streams) and  “ROLLIN N CONTROLLIN PT. 2 (PICTURE ME),” which generated well over 131k video creations on TikTok.

Stay tuned for more from the Canarsie native, including the upcoming FEVA FINESSA EP, as summer rolls on.

    The Background:

“It was all in front of me; I just had to go get it,” DUSTY LOCANE says at the beginning of his viral drill heater, “Rolando (Caught In The Rain).” That’s an understatement: less than a year after he started rapping, the gruff-voiced, baby-faced Brooklyn spitter has experienced one of the most meteoric rises in recent rap history. He’s only released three songs, and he’s already a star: his breakout song “R60LLXN N CONTROLLIN” went viral instantly, and its follow-up “Rolando” garnered 1 million video plays and 1 million streams in its first week. The world is closely watching Dusty, and he’s ready to deliver.

CEO Trayle Processes The Past in ‘Vier’ EP, Recruits Enchanting For New Video

The Rising ATL Rapper Teams with Enchanting for the “Send My B*tch” Video

Arriving Along With a Q&A in The FADER, the New EP Continues Trayle’s Run as One of the Sharpest Street Rappers in the South

    Critical Praise:

“The most unnerving villainous laugh you’ll hear this week won’t be in the new Batman movie—it’s in the opening seconds of CEO Trayle’s “Rendezvous.” The way Trayle uses his shapeshifting flow to rattle off threats brings to mind the more sinister side of Chief Keef.” – Pitchfork

“So many rappers stay in one gear for an entire song, but Trayle’s music constantly shifts the rhythm, keeping your ears perked so you don’t get lost as he speeds up. He goes from biting punched-in threats and making singsong taunts to an ominous, slithery flow that leaves you looking behind your shoulder to make sure he isn’t talking about kicking in your backdoor.”  – Pitchfork

“The hunger in his rapping turns every song into a boxing ring to prove himself victorious.”The FADER

“Atlanta’s CEO Trayle is going hard in 2022. The rapper’s earned quite the reputation in the rap game over the past few years. Projects like the Happy Halloween series have cemented him as the one to look out for. “ – HotNewHipHop

“On his recent single, “OK Cool,” Trayle takes a conversational approach, making it clear that—no matter what anyone else in his life is on—he’s still up.” – Audiomack

    The EP + Video:

Speaking softly and carrying many sticks, CEO Trayle‘s smooth flows and deliberately-paced delivery force listeners to pay attention to every word. Rewarding listeners for their close attention, the rapper also known as Mr. Back Door shares Viera new EP that further establishes him as one of the slickest and most versatile rappers in the ATL scene. The title of the EP translates into the number four in German, a number with mythical and historical significance in Trayle’s life–beyond being the source for his explosive nickname C4. Nine years ago, on July 4th, Trayle suffered seven gunshot wounds as he successfully fought off an attempted home invasion. Trayle survived, but he suffered emotional scars that he still processes every day. The rapper explored his trauma and expressed gratitude for the little things on his recent single July The Fourth,” the EP’s closing track. Released alongside a Q&A with The FADERVier EP is available everywhere via Do What You Love, LLC / 10K Projects.

Though the EP is informed by trauma, it is not all doom and gloom. It kicks off with DrillC4,” on which Trayle tries his hand on a drill instrumental  without losing his signature style. The new EP is home to Send My B*tch,” a sinuous ride-or-die anthem about a modern day Bonnie & Clyde. On “Send My B*tch,” Trayle goes toe-to-toe with Enchanting, a similarly soft-spoken rapper from The New 1017, bragging about his partner-in-crime’s facility with illicit activities. Enchanting slides through in the song’s second half, proving that she’s one to be feared, perhaps even more than Mr. Back Door himself. In the video, Trayle and Enchanting portray the ultimate stick-up couple, as they execute a honeypot heist and drive off in their Dodge Challenger with a fresh bag.

Vier continues a busy year for the CEO, highlighted by his recent project The Collection. Spanning eight tracks, the project reconciles Trayle’s pugilistic past (represented on songs like “Mr. Door Kicker”) and his luxurious present ( “Buy A Boat,” “Fendi’d Up”). Trayle recently took a trip to New York in the video for  Of Course,” the tape’s closing track.

Freshly signed to 10k Projects, CEO Trayle is following in the footsteps of his hero Gucci Mane, crafting street raps that are at once down-and-dirty and refined. The 27-year-old artist always stays true to his muse regardless of what’s fashionable, creating music that went against the grain in his home city of Atlanta during the heyday of triplet-driven melodic trap. His music found an audience in Chicago, still home to his largest base of listeners, and among publications like PitchforkAudiomack, and many more, for his gritty bars and sinister steez. Trayle’s trajectory skyrocketed after he released Ok Cool,” a viral hit that generated over 60 million streams and earned a remix from Gunna. “Ok Cool” landed on Happy Halloween C4, a 16-track opus with appearances from Babyface Ray and Doe Boy.

With much more music on the way and much further to rise, CEO Trayle is primed to take over the rap game.

    The Background:

CEO Trayle has a rare sense of vision. The prolific Atlanta-based rapper and CEO/founder of 1080 Trademark Recordssees the music industry the way a great point guard does a basketball court. He understands cause-and-effect, knowing how dropping one frosty, minimalist single will shape the perception around his next project. But occasionally he exceeds even his own expectations. His breakout single, “OK Cool,” a deadpan rebuke to an ex, earned more than 60 million streams, even though Trayle didn’t foresee it as a blockbuster when he made it. The momentum from that track, and its Gunna-assisted remix, paved the way for The Collection, a thrilling, visceral release that showcases the 28-year-old MC’s multi-genre fluency.

Rising Star Rot Ken Celebrates His First Day Out with “Rollin”

Rising Star Rot Ken Celebrates His First Day Out with “Rollin”

    7.29.2022

Audio/Video: Rot Ken – “Rollin” (Prod. by JetsonMade)

The Rapid Internet Money/Spaceboy Productions Riser Follows Up His Free Me Project With a Video Single That Celebrates His Future as a Free Man

Blessed with a natural sense of freewheeling melody, Georgia rapper Rot Ken is a leader in his state’s new wave. Celebrating his recent release from jail in his own signature style, Ken shares “Rollin,” a new video single. Produced by JetsonMade, the new song combines angelic synth arpeggios and dramatic piano with Jetson’s trademark trampoline 808s, providing a platform for Ken to pontificate about his environment and air his grievances: “I was locked up in a cell sitting on a double bed/Heard you told ’em ’bout some things, yeah, I heard what you said.” The emotional video blends clips of Rot Ken’s release–he embraces his family, gets a fresh line-up on his hair–with shots of the 18-year-old artist riding in a luxury van to the studio, where he immediately gets to work. “Rollin” is now available on all platforms.

LIL ZAY OSAMA TEAMS UP WITH LIL DURK FOR GRITTY NEW SINGLE “FUCK MY COUSIN PT. II”

LISTEN HERE – WATCH THE VIDEO HERE

NEW PROJECT TRENCH BABY 3 IS DUE AUGUST 12th

    Critical Praise:

Rising Chicago Rappers You Need to KnowComplex

Song You Need to Know: Lil Zay Osama, ‘Changed Up’Rolling Stone

His ragged debut ‘Hood Bible’ became an Auto-Tuned manifesto for the streets and proved what Lil Zay could accomplish in quieter moments, with reflective music that felt more sorrowful about the past than anchored by tall tales. – Pitchfork

Looking at Osama’s career so far, you’ll see that forging his own path has made him into one of Chicago’s most well-known burgeoning rap stars. For nearly the last three years, Osama’s pensive street music has become the soundtrack to the city’s newest trap movement.DJ Booth

    The Video:

July 29, 2022 (Los Angeles, CA) – Today, Chicago’s Lil Zay Osama releases “Fuck My Cousin Pt. II,” a vengeance-packed drill single featuring mentor and friend Lil Durk. Listen HERE via Warner Records. The track is accompanied by an equally intense video — which showcases the collaborators’ Chicago roots and unstoppable growth — and the release date for Trench Baby 3, a new project set to be shared on August 12th. Watch the video HERE.

“Fuck My Cousin Pt. II” is a no-holds-barred missive by Lil Zay to rivals powered by dark keys while Lil Durk picks up the theme and spits a standout verse. Aligned in spirit, intent, and city, Lil Zay Osama and Durk emit the ethos of their hometown, flaunting natural chemistry that can only come from the genuine brotherhood. It may be their first collaboration since 2019, but their connection is stronger than ever.

Fittingly, the video shows the duo in action, thick as thieves and flanked by their crew during a hot day and night in Chicago. “Fuck My Cousin Pt. II” is the latest manifestation of drill music, Lil Zay Osama’s brand of heart-wrenching trench tales that evoke memories of block wars and lost loved ones. It’s a portrait of resolve in the inner city and also a sign of Durk’s continued support of one of the area’s most powerful voices. The track was preceded by “Real Pain,” a cathartic anthem laced with all the reflection that’s helped Lil Zay Osama connect with listeners all over.

Fans will get another dose of Lil Zay Osama’s realness with Trench Baby 3, packed with trauma and triumph that only reaffirms his status as one of Chicago’s best. With over 300 million streams under his belt and coverage from the likes of XXL, Pitchfork, The FADER, Complex, Chicago Reader, Lyrical Lemonade and more, it’s clear that Lil Zay Osama makes music that resonates. “Fuck My Cousin Pt. II,” and Trench Baby 3 are just the latest evidence of that fact.

    The Background:

Lil Zay Osama makes “pain music.” That’s what the South Side native calls his combination of raw, gripping lyrics and a passionate delivery. One of Chicago’s most captivating young voices, the 23-year-old pens heart-wrenching street narratives riddled with eulogies for tragically lost family and friends. With booming drums and poignant melodies, somber trap production scores Zay’s tear-stained memoirs, auto-tune accentuating the hurt embedded in every syllable. It’s a sound that’s resonated far and wide, yet these songs talk directly to those born in the trenches. Since he arrived in 2019, Zay has continued to touch fans. His music encapsulates his greatest strengths and the emotional impact of his heaviest songs conveying the callousness of Chicago street life. A departure from the more celebratory Hood Bible (2019), which Zay recorded while glowing from signing to Warner Records, his latest duology Trench Baby and the recent Trench Baby 2 distill decades of unsettling truths and hard-earned wisdom.Trench Baby 2 as well as the follow-up deluxe edition, which included an array of street hits from “Rumors,” “Ride for Me” (with Jackboy)” to fan-anthems “61st to 64th,” and “We’ll Be Straight.” A gifted storyteller and melodic virtuoso, Zay is able to maneuver between different moods from drill to trap ballads, earning him the praise of XXL, Pitchfork, HipHopDX, Complex and more.

My Favorite Color Gets His Cusack On in “Cut Me In”

    7.28.2022

Video: My Favorite Color  – “Cut Me In

The Mischievous L.A.-via-Pittsburgh Artist Grows Tired of Artificial Relationships in His Latest Music Video

    Critical Praise:

Best New Artist for September 2021: It’s clear My Favorite Color is okay not taking himself too seriously and letting the music speak for itself.” – Pigeons & Planes

“The Pittsburgh MC once again flashes signs of brilliance on his new song ‘Old News.’ His zany personality and frenetic flow are the main drivers of his fun-filled anthem.” – Billboard

“He truly brings you on a sonic journey that contains so many different styles, sounds, and narratives, you have no choice but to pay attention.” – Lyrical Lemonade

“His music is powerful. Each bar drips with the confusion and existential dread of a man who feels out of place in his world.” – Noisey

    The Video:

A rising artistic force who changes flows like he changes clothes, My Favorite Color came to play, not get played. Today, MFC shares his new video for “Cut Me In,” a track which finds the artist born Anthony Willis informing his underhanded inamorata that it’s time to fish or cut bait, as he glides along the grooves of an atmospheric instrumental with his muttering melodies: “Let me in, let me in/Why you always gotta leave me out?/Say we friends, we just friends/Why you treat me like I’m something else?”

The video for “Cut Me In” opens with MFC’s arrival at a tired, old house. As he makes his way up the leaf-covered path to the house, he pulls out a boombox like John Cusack in Say Anything and attracts the attention of its plastic inhabitant. His mannequin mistress seems to welcome him into the house’s interior which radiates an unfamiliar nostalgia. Though they lay in bed together and share their space, MFC’s venting of grievances makes it clear that his relationship is no less plastic than his counterpart. With the frustration and fatigue of his courtship mounting, MFC finds a sense of release as he howls at the moon in yearning.

Following the release of his deeply personal debut album Velma in 2020, My Favorite Color used 2021 to show off his technical rhyming chops, keen sense of visuals, and absurdist sense of humor. In Old News,” a bouncily colorful single praised by Billboard (a “flash of brilliance”) and Lyrical Lemonade, MFC worked a fast-moving flow, delivering punchlines at a rapidfire rate. The song was accompanied by a virtuosic music video, in which the artist portrayed multiple characters a la Eddie Murphy, ranging from a kidnap victim, to a possibly untrained pilot, to a truth-telling stand-up comedian. The artist followed “Old News” with “Mayday,” a jazzy and off-kilter banger, a lyrical showcase that veers to every corner of the rapper’s mind, mixing party-positive flexes with tongue-twisting geopolitical analysis. “Mayday” and “Old News” displayed the prodigious artistic gifts that inspired Pigeons & Planes to name him a Best New Artist in September 2021.

My Favorite Color is currently hard at work on his next project, a wide-ranging effort that properly continues the story he started with Velma. Stay tuned for much more music and eye-popping videos from My Favorite Color in the coming weeks and months on the road to the new album.

Rolling Loud Miami 2022: Saturday Recap

The Festival’s Second Day Raised the Bar Even Higher with Stunning Performances and Surprises

    THE RECAP:

With a record-setting five stages occupied by the hottest talent from all corners of the rap universe, day two of Rolling Loud Miami saw the dirty south steal the show with trap legends like Gucci Mane, Kevin Gates, Soulja Boy, and City Girls. Fellow Floridian Saucy Santana had one of the biggest day-time crowds jumping as he tossed a signed Prada jacket to fans along the barricade.

Headliner Future stole the show by bringing the trap to Hard Rock Stadium, alongside special guest Travis Scott. Earlier in the night, Rolling Loud mainstay Lil Uzi Vert lit up the main stage, while wearing their newly announced pronouns “They/Them” across their chest.

With a lineup this saturated with stars, fans never had to look far for one to wish upon, and two young fans got to see theirs come true. Thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the pair of teens got the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to grace the stage of the world’s largest hip-hop festival alongside their favorite rapper, Ski Mask the Slump God on his home stage, with co-founders Matt Zingler and Tariq Cherif.
