Rich Amiri & Desire Get In Their “Feelings” in a New Video

  • Press Release

Rich Amiri & Desire Get In Their “Feelings” in a New Video

    8.17.2022

Video: Rich Amiri – “Feelings” ft. Desire

The Boston-Area Teenager Teams with a Louisiana Pluggnb Riser For a Subdued and Smooth Video From His Debut Tape For The Better

    Critical Praise:

“For someone who has only been rapping for two years, Rich continues to deliver nothing but perfection track after track.” Lyrical Lemonade

    The Video:

A talented teenager with a lush and velvety voice, Rich Amiri is primed to take over the game. Sharing a new duet with a fellow riser, Amiri turns up in Texas in Feelings,” his new music video from his For The Better project. Belting over bouncing 808s, Amiri stretches syllables like taffy as he explains the mixed emotions that come from newfound fame–from hangers-on asking for favors to increased attention from the fairer sex. Louisiana rapper Desire tags in for the second verse, his higher register mixing nicely with Amiri’s baritone. Directed by @Siennaburmess, the video for “Feelings” finds both rappers relaxing in a Houston hotel, as the mutating, wavy visual effects reflect the disorienting feeling described in the lyrics.

“Feelings” is the latest missive from the busy, Boston-born 18-year-old. Earlier this month, Amiri shared the video for the chest-thumping, Cxdy & Taz Taylor-produced single Can’t Die,” and served up a double-dose of rage with the release of singles “ruthless” and “trouble.” In June, the rapper shared For The Better, his debut project. Featuring appearances from SSGKobe, Summrs, and others, the 8-song effort showcased Amiri’s beyond-his-years maturity and sharp songwriting, while Internet Money helped craft a soundscape that suited his inimitable voice.

Since he started uploading songs to his SoundCloud in 2020, Rich Amiri has established himself as a fixture in rap’s burgeoning melodic underground. He first earned recognition with his 2021 song Never Fail,” which surpassed 2.7 million plays on SoundCloud, and he struck again late last year with his bubbling hit “Walk In.” Most recently, the young artist shared the video for his For The Better highlight “Bounty.”

With the respect of his peers and a fast-growing fanbase, Rich Amiri is on the path to stardom. Stay tuned for much more from the rising rapper in the near future.

    Watch “Feelings” ft. Desire: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9HpEe0KELM

Please contact Michelle or Kevin for more info.

    The Background:

Hypnotic and honeyed, Rich Amiri’s voice is like little else in rap. Having only recently started taking music seriously, his syrupy melodies have already helped him stand out from his peers in plugg&B–a slurry blend of soul and cloud rap that’s been taking over the internet. Amiri’s humble and nonchalant about his gifts but that hasn’t stopped him from becoming one of his scene’s most free-associative songwriters. He switches lanes with grace, as evidenced by some of the highlights from his recent EP Chase. Tracks like “J10” are low-key and sensitive, while “Never Fail” allows him room to rage, showing off his many sides in quick succession. Though the 18-year-old hails from Boston, he’s a child of the internet who’s been uploading bedroom recordings to SoundCloud since 2020. Like many Gen Z stars, Amiri is something of a one-man army. He says even before he made music, he was on TikTok “from sunup to sundown,” meaning he knew exactly how to get “Never Fail” to go viral—and it’s now inching toward 2 million SoundCloud streams. He’s aligned with the proudly independent 10K Projects, but he has no interest in messing with a successful formula. Amiri’s just getting started, but he’s already starting to accomplish his goals, reaching fans and sharing his innermost feelings. And yet, he’s quickly learned not to force anything. He’s made it this far by trusting his gut, after all. “If it’s a good beat, it’ll speak to me,” he says. “Then I make it speak to other people, too. “

Ron Suno Gets Jersey Sturdy in “ONE NIGHT”

  • Press Release

Ron Suno Gets Jersey Sturdy in “ONE NIGHT”

    8.16.2022

Video: Ron Suno – “ONE NIGHT”

The King of the Bronx Takes a Journey to Jersey in New Video for Standout Track from SUNO MODE

    Critical Praise:

“Whether he’s getting tons of retweets because he danced with Hip Hop Harry on Instagram, or churning out yet another song that shows off his personality, the rapper finds a way to keep all eyes in his direction.”XXL

“Posting skits that exude his loud personality and hilarious sense-of-humor, his #WeaveChallenge became an instant sensation — cementing his name in the entertainment industry.” – FLAUNT

    The Video:

As he strives to expand his empire beyond the borough that birthed hip-hop, Ron Suno is certainly no stranger to breaking boundaries. When in New Jersey, Ron does as New Jerseyans do with his new video for “ONE NIGHT.” A standout from the recent SUNO MODE project, the track showcases Ron’s genre-bending abilities as he delivers his signature fast-paced flows over a thumping Jersey Club beat injected with elements of Bronx drill.

“‘ONE NIGHT’ spoke to some of the more Jersey sounds that I know are popping off and I wanted to combine that with the Bronx sound,” says Ron Suno. “I want to work with more Jersey and Philly artists because once you hear it, you know that’s where they’re from.”

Shot by Benny Max, the video for “ONE NIGHT” finds Ron and company making the club look like a dub compared to the backyard kickback they’re turning up. With red solo cups, an assortment of bottles, and lawn furniture scattered throughout the scene, the clip evokes the nostalgia of unforgettable memories made at pre-games and after-parties that outshined the main event.

Already a proven inspiration to the youth with the project’s viral single, “What They Gon Say” (over 22 million Spotify streams and 12 million YouTube views) and its Rowdy Rebel-featuring remix, SUNO MODE elevates Ron’s infectious energy to new heights. Whether he’s blending his Bronx drill sound with familiar favorites on “OH LETS DO IT” or letting his refreshingly reflective side shine on “FALL OFF,” the fast-paced project progresses without a dull moment. The new project is home to “SHOES” ft. DUSTY LOCANE & Rah Swish (2.3 million+ views in three weeks), a showcase for New York’s sturdiest steppers.

“I turned a switch on, unleashing a new power,” says Ron. “I think about video games, and how there’s a mode you have to get in and it can make you invincible. When I’m in SUNO MODE, I’m invincible.”

    The Background:

Winning fans with his unique blend of skills, Ron Suno built up a massive following on Instagram (over 1 million followers), YouTube, SoundCloud, and TikTok with his amusing skits and admirable artistry. Ever since high school, Suno has been a restless creative. He uses every expressive outlet available to him to get his message across, from music to short-form video to dance challenges to acting in BK Juice, a new film starring his NYC cohort Rah Swish. Suno’s music career started to take off in 2019 when he dropped “Pinocchio,” which racked up over 9 million Spotify streams and caught the attention of Blueface, who hopped on the remix. Last June, buoyed by the momentum of “Pinocchio,” Ron released Swag Like Mike, the project that put Suno on the map with hit singles like “SPIDER-MAN” ft. Fivio Foreign.

Lou Phelps Vibes into the Abyss in “Here We Go” Video

Lou Phelps Vibes into the Abyss in “Here We Go” Video

    8.12.2022

Video: Lou Phelps – “Here We Go”

The Montreal Maestro Melts into the Music in Video for Self-Produced Single from his Touché EP

    Critical Praise:

“His easy confidence helps him find a knocking pace that matches the hard-hitting drums undergirding the production” – Pitchfork

“Meet Lou Phelps, the Montreal Rapper Stepping Into His Own Light” – DJ BOOTH

“The single is hip-hop to its roots, with Phelps’ rapping providing the driving force” – Dancing Astronaut

    The Video:

With an unassuming aesthetic and a flow for any occasion, Lou Phelps approaches music with an effortlessness that seems to be second nature. Today, the Montreal-native innovator moves with the music in his new video for “Here We Go,” the lead single from TouchĂ©, his recent EP.  “Here We Go” marked Lou’s first self-produced release, with the other two songs on the EP featuring production from his older brother, KAYTRANADA.

“I produced it, I arranged it, and I delivered the performance. It’s all me. It feels like I have a baby,” says Lou Phelps.

Like the track itself, the video for “Here We Go” is all Lou. Directed by Igal Perets, the clip opens with its most organic image, with Lou taking a seat on a dimly lit black soundstage. As the track begins, the camera slowly zooms in on Lou rapping the tracks opening bars as he’s circled seductively by a black-clad woman. When the beat begins to build and the visual fades to black, any sense of place and context dissipates. All that’s left is Lou and the music, and as he locks onto the atmospheric complexities of the instrumental with his dextrous flow, the subtle visual grows increasingly abstract, with hypnotic reconstructions of the same simple elements.

Touché is Lou’s first release with Rostrum Records, and is released in conjunction with Stand Up Guy Records, a new imprint founded by KAYTRANADA, of which Lou is partner. The follow-up to 2020’s Extra Extra project, and to “Sound Of Money,” Lou’s recent collaboration with Madlib, Touché EP is a turning point for the young rapper as he looks to expand his empire from his MTL hometown to the rest of the world, Touché is available everywhere via Rostrum Records/Stand Up Guy Records.

    The Background

A  fixture in the bustling Montreal underground, Lou Phelps makes music that’s as easy to dance to as it is hard to classify. Lou started making music in 2011 with his older brother Kevin, aka the Polaris Prize-winning producer KAYTRANADA, forming a future-rap group called The Celestics. Using the moniker Louie P, Lou developed a reputation for creating tasteful and danceable electro rap. The artist earned a JUNO Award nomination for his 2017 debut project, 001 Experiments, and in 2018, made waves online with his project 002 / LOVE ME and its highlight track “Come Inside.” Since releasing his EXTRA EXTRA EP in 2020, home to the hit single “Must Be” (4.7+ million Spotify streams) Lou Phelps has been biding his time, waiting for the perfect time to strike with his most creatively fulfilling music yet. Now signed to Rostrum Records, Lou Phelps is ready to let the world know that no one can do it like he can.

“9 Exciting Acts to Catch at Forecastle This Year…Everything that they do is smooth, with a relaxed creatively that still hits hard. All things considered, their superpower is the diversity of their styles, how each member is different, bringing new energy and ideas into various moments. That’s the thing about a collective done right: it’s never gets boring, because there’s too much talent.”Louisville City Beat

“Louisville rappers respect the artistry of their peers, love to collaborate with one another, and love to rep the ‘Ville. The next group to pop from the 502 is none other than The Homies. The Homies consist of four individualistic, multi-talented artists: Quiiso, Shloob, Ace Pro, and 2forwOyNE.”SHEESH Media

    The Video:

Masters of the DIY grind, Louisville rap crew The Homies know how to have a good time. Today, the 4-man collective comprised of Ace Pro, 2forwOyNE, Shlobb, and Quiiso share the new video for “Thirsty.” Produced by group member 2forwOyNE, “Thirsty” combines elements of two late ’00s rap cuts–using a sped-up sample of Drake’s “Houstatlantavegas” and vocals of Missy Elliott’s “Ching-A-Ling”–into a cohesive and incredibly catchy whole. Directed by Ace Pro, the video has a breezy summer vibe, as The Homies play beach volleyball with a group of fine ladies. The follow-up to “Shake,” which arrived with a Hype Williams-esque video, “Thirsty” is a highlight from It’s A Lot Going On, The Homies’ next album, and it arrives shortly after they hosted celebrities like Jack Harlow, Cole Bennett, Master P, and many more for their annual Celebrity Kickball Tournament in Louisville.

The perfect recipe to cool down the dog days of summer, It’s A Lot Going On compiles 14 brand new tracks into a sleek and boisterous package. Ping-ponging from hard-hitting trap on tracks like opener “Out Here” and the funky “Had To,” to effervescent rhythmic anthems like “Goat Mami” and “Trouble,” the album is buoyed by the chemistry of the four artists. Marked by playful lyricism and easygoing melodies, It’s A Lot Going On percolates with creative energy and signals even bigger things ahead for the Derby City natives. With appearances from Marzz, Jace, and Australian artist Mason Dane, who The Homies met on a recent sojourn Down Under, It’s A Lot Going On arrives on August 19th.

The “Thirsty” video arrives shortly after The Homies announced that they’ll be joining their Private Garden co-founder Jack Harlow on his “Come Home The Kids Miss You Tour” this fall. Also featuring support from the City Girls, the 26-date tour gives Ace Pro, 2forwOyNE, Shlobb, and Quiiso the chance to show off their performance chops in front of arena-sized audiences. The tour kicks off on September 5th in Cincinnati, just a few miles up the road from The Homies’ hometown. Tickets are available now.

With much more music on deck and an unshakeable passion for their craft, The Homies are ready to follow in the footsteps of their friend Jack Harlow from the Louisville underground to the rap mainstream. Sit back, and watch their rise.

DUSTY LOCANE & 3Kizzy Drop ‘Em Like Flies on “Demise”

  • Press Release

DUSTY LOCANE & 3Kizzy Drop ‘Em Like Flies on “Demise”

    8.12.2022

Video: DUSTY LOCANE – “Demise” ft. 3Kizzy

    Critical Praise:

“A rumbling voice that could be picked up on a seismograph” – Pitchfork

“He’s going to be a force to be reckoned with, and he knows it.” – Lyrical Lemonade

“…hard-hitting rhymes that will surely be heard blaring over car stereos in Brooklyn.” – HotNewHipHop

    The Video:

With his stone cold swagger and rumbling rasp, DUSTY LOCANE has plenty of bite to back up his bark. Connecting with 3Kizzy, a suvy from DUSTY’s home neighborhood, the Canarsie capo keeps a steel surprise for anyone wishing to see his “DEMISE” in his new video single. Kicked off by 3Kizzy, who appeared on DUSTY’s 2021 debut album, UNTAMED, the track is nothing short of a workout, with the duo daring listeners to keep up as they ring off their tough talk: “Know that we roll like the task force/Don’t give a f*ck ‘bout Illuminati, I got demons I ain’t ask for.”

Directed by MIDAS, the video for “DEMISE” feels like GTA meets Friday the 13th, as Kizzy and DUSTY fort up in an eerily neglected cabin in the woods. With its newspaper-lined walls draped in yellow tape, the structure evokes a different strain of horror. The house is haunted, but by its occupants, and any opp bold enough to come knocking is bound to get shook.

“DEMISE” arrives on the heels of “ROLLIN N CONTROLLIN Pt. 3 (BEEN ROLLIN)” (1.6 million views since its late July release), DUSTY’s first single since his debut album, UNTAMED, which capped off a massive 2021 for the 23-year-old artist. In December, DUSTY joined the exclusive ranks of artists like Olivia Rodrigo, Coi Leray, Pooh Shiesty, and many more, as a member of the #RIAAClassOf2021 after receiving his first GOLD certification this year with his debut single, “ROLLIN N CONTROLLIN FREESTYLE,” which racked up over 200 million combined streams. The EMPIRE artist struck gold again with “Rolando (Caught In The Rain)” (86 million Spotify streams) and  “ROLLIN N CONTROLLIN PT. 2 (PICTURE ME),” which generated well over 131k video creations on TikTok.

Stay tuned for much more music from the Canarsie native as summer rolls on.

    The Background:

“It was all in front of me; I just had to go get it,” DUSTY LOCANE says at the beginning of his viral drill heater, “Rolando (Caught In The Rain).” That’s an understatement: less than a year after he started rapping, the gruff-voiced, baby-faced Brooklyn spitter has experienced one of the most meteoric rises in recent rap history. He’s only released three songs, and he’s already a star: his breakout song “R60LLXN N CONTROLLIN” went viral instantly, and its follow-up “Rolando” garnered 1 million video plays and 1 million streams in its first week. The world is closely watching Dusty, and he’s ready to deliver.

Jay Fizzle Leaves the Opps Shell-Shocked on ‘DonaFizzo’

  • Press Release

Jay Fizzle Leaves the Opps Shell-Shocked on ‘DonaFizzo’

    8.12.2022

    Mixtape: Jay Fizzle – DonaFizzo

Paper Route Empire’s Longest-Tenured Signee Flows with a Fury Over 15 Tracks, Including Guest Spots from Key Glock, Big Scarr, Jackboy, & More

    The Announcement + Video:

Putting on for Paper Route Empire for over half a decade, Jay Fizzle is a master of the searing street rap that serves as the bass-booming heart of Memphis music. Eager to establish his name far beyond the city that raised him, Fizzle refines his grind on his new mixtape, DonaFizzo. Featuring appearances from his PRE family, including Key Glock, Big Moochie Grape, Joddy Badass, and SNUPE BANDZ, plus high-powered peers like Big Scarr, Jackboy, and 21 Lil Harold, DonaFizzo is available everywhere now via Paper Route Empire.

Much like Donatello, the tape’s titular ninja turtle, Fizzle leans into his knack for invention on the tape as he hones his flow into unexpected pockets on each stellar instrumental from heavy-hitters like Bandplay, Ayoza, and Sosa 808. With a style inspired by his own Master Splinter, Young Dolph, Fizzle’s desire to ascend from the gutter can be felt in every track. From the arcade villain-esque “Nike Check,” to the Mission: Impossible-esque bounce of “50 Freaky B*tches” ft. 21 Lil Harold, to the furiously flex-heavy “Nothing Into Something,” DonaFizzo hits harder than a bo-staff from start to finish.

Along with the mixtape, Fizzle shares new video for the Sosa 808-produced standout, “Atmosphere.” The Brothers Film-directed clip finds Fizzle bringing more smoke than a Memphis rib spot as the video opens on a trio of black-clad masked menaces tagging up a squad car before soaking it with gasoline. No matches required, the car erupts in flames at the drop of the beat as Fizzle stokes the inferno with explosive flows.

DonaFizzo is the latest salvo in a busy year for Jay Fizzle and the rest of PRE. Fizzle kicked off the year with purpose, sharing “LLD,” a heartfelt tribute to his mentor Young Dolph. Adorned with lush harmonies and a star vocal turn from Ricco Barrino, “Long Live Dolph” finds Jay Fizzle baring his soul, the South Memphis native audibly emotional when he relays his gratitude to his mentor for teaching him everything he knows: “The way I talk, the way I walk, the way I act, the way I dress/The way I do my thing up in the booth, I learned it from the best.” With over 1.8 million views on YouTube, “LLD” is the opening track from Paper Route Empire Presents: Long Live Dolph, a compilation album from the independent label, which features appearances from nearly every artist on PRE, including Key Glock, Big Moochie Grape, Kenny Muney and more.

Morray Describes His Rise From the Gutter in Southside-Produced “Ticket”

  • Press Release

Morray Describes His Rise From the Gutter in Southside-Produced “Ticket”

    8.12.2022

Video: Morray – “Ticket” (Prod. by Southside)

The GRAMMY-Nominated Artist Reflects On His Days In The Trap in a Booming Anthem About His Come-Up

    Morray: Accolades & Accomplishments:

    “2022 GRAMMY Award Nominee – Best Rap Song (“m y l i f e” w/ J. Cole & 21 Savage)

    2022 GRAMMY Award Nominee – Best Rap Performance (“m y l i f e” w/ J. Cole & 21 Savage)

2021 BET Hip-Hop Award Nominee – Best New Artist

2021 Soul Train Award Nominee – Best New Artist

    2021 XXL Freshman

#1 on Billboard’s Emerging Artists Chart (April 2021)

Named “Artist To Watch” by Apple Music, Complex, Billboard, SPIN, Pigeons & Planes, and more

    The Song:

Grainy, powerful, and effortlessly melodic, Morray’s voice is purpose-built for delivering inspirational bars about the struggle. Digging deep into his pre-fame life over a booming Southside beat, Morray shares Ticket,” his new single. Singing his heart out in short melodic bursts, Morray paints the contours of Southside’s instrumental with bars that contrast his past life “in the gutter” with his current life as a rising rap star. The Fayetteville, NC native combines his natural storytelling instinct with his knack for pithy one-liners: “I don’t have no siblings, so miss me with that brother sh*t,” he spits.

“Ticket” continues Morray’s upward trajectory, marked by new music, sold-out tour dates, and numerous award nominations. The new banger is Morray’s first single since Momma’s Love,” the heartfelt Mother’s Day anthem, which followed the poignant Still Here” ft. Cordae. Morray attended his first GRAMMY Awards this year, where he earned nominations for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance, each honoring him for his involvement in J. Cole’s “m y l i f e” (also featuring 21 Savage).

The two GRAMMY nominations are the culmination of a meteoric rise that started with “Quicksand,” a GOLD-certified hit that reached the Billboard Hot 100 and Jimmy Kimmel Live, and his critically acclaimed debut album Street Sermons, which propelled Morray to #1 on Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart. Morray joined J. Cole on “The Off-Season Tour,” rocking sold-out crowd in a series of stadium dates. Morray was a standout performer at DreamVille Fest earlier this year and he reached a personal milestone in June, when he performed at Fayetteville’s Juneteenth Jubilee, marking his first-ever performance as a headliner in his hometown.

Starting in September, you can catch Morray on tour with Kevin Gates on the “Big Lyfe” Tour. Buy tickets HERE.

    Critical Praise for Morray:

“‘Trenches,’ from an album due next week titled Street Sermons, rides the minor chords and trap beats that often accompany antisocial boasts. But while ‘Trenches’ doesn’t ignore gangs, drugs or poverty, Morray also recognizes a community that holds families, neighbors and friends” – The New York Times

“Few crooning rappers have his polish, resonance, and soul.” – SPIN

“With only four songs on streaming platforms—all released in 2020—Fayetteville, North Carolina rapper Morray has already proven he’s a hitmaker. His debut single “Quicksand” is undeniable, anchored by the type of hook you get from a Roddy Ricch or Rod Wave song and infused with storytelling and charisma to paint a picture even if you’re unfamiliar with the newcomer.” – Pigeons & Planes

“An impressively feverish turn from Morray, whose 2020 breakout single “Quicksand” leaned toward the spiritual. Here, though, he’s ferocious, rapping with a scratchy yelp and a sense of defiance. He’s accompanied by Benny the Butcher, who is among the calmest-sounding boasters in hip-hop. An unexpected and unexpectedly effective pairing.” – The New York Times

“One of the most promising up-and-coming talents in hip-hop right now, and his new single ‘Never Fail’ featuring Benny the Butcher is just his latest entry in his increasingly impressive catalog.” – Complex

“The offering shines a light on Morray’s verbal dexterity and fast-paced melodic runs. – HYPEBEAST

“Morray has become one of the brightest new voices in the soul/rap crossover moment” – Brooklyn Vegan

“North Carolina rapper Morray went from a practically unknown name to one of rap’s most promising new acts in a matter of just one year.” – UPROXX

    Critical Praise:

Rising Chicago Rappers You Need to KnowComplex

Song You Need to Know: Lil Zay Osama, ‘Changed Up’Rolling Stone

His ragged debut ‘Hood Bible’ became an Auto-Tuned manifesto for the streets and proved what Lil Zay could accomplish in quieter moments, with reflective music that felt more sorrowful about the past than anchored by tall tales. – Pitchfork

Looking at Osama’s career so far, you’ll see that forging his own path has made him into one of Chicago’s most well-known burgeoning rap stars. For nearly the last three years, Osama’s pensive street music has become the soundtrack to the city’s newest trap movement.DJ Booth

    The Mixtape:

August 12, 2022 (Los Angeles, CA) – Lil Zay Osama makes visceral and heartfelt music that examines the violence of his home community and lasting pain that it causes. Today, the Chicago native shares Trench Baby 3, a new mixtape designed to speak to and for those struggling to escape rough circumstances. Spanning 17 tracks, Trench Baby 3 alternates between brutal and cathartic missives and ballads that explore the emotional toll of neighborhood living. Lil Zay Osama’s versatile vocals perfectly fit each milieu, all while radiating the passion that endeared him to his mentor Lil Durk. Listen to Trench Baby 3 HERE.

Trench Baby 3 is home to the recent hit “F*ck My Cousin, Pt. II,” a no-holds-barred collaboration between Lil Zay Osama and Lil Durk that is tearing up the streets in Chicago with over 7 million video views on YouTube and over 6 million streams globally, along with previously released singles like “Real Pain,” a moving ballad about the struggle, and “Glah Glah” (3 million views on YouTube), a hustler’s anthem named after Zay Osama’s signature ad-lib. Featuring additional appearances from fellow Chicago natives G Herbo and PGF Nuk, plus high-profile out-of-towners Fredo Bang and Icewear Vezzo, Trench Baby 3 is available everywhere via Warner Records.

Along with the tape, Lil Zay Osama shares the video for “Chase ‘Em Down,” a TB3 highlight. The song finds Lil Zay Osama bouncing over sinister piano arpeggios alongside fellow Chicago rapper G Herbo, as they explain in detail why it’s unwise to cross them. In the video, Zay and Herbo perform in a brightly-lit garage, surrounded by homies and luxury cars, intercut with scenes of the actions Zay took to survive in the streets.

Lil Zay Osama’s visual ambitions extend beyond music videos–the South Sider conceptualized and starred in Trench Baby: The Series. Inspired by the mixtape, the four-part series tells a tale of betrayal, survival, and revenge on the South Side of Chicago. The full Trench Baby series is currently streaming on Zay’s YouTube channel.

Packed with trauma and triumph, Trench Baby 3 reaffirms Lil Zay Osama’s status as one of Chicago’s best. With over 300 million streams under his belt and coverage from the likes of XXL, Pitchfork, The FADER, Complex, Chicago Reader, Lyrical Lemonade and more, the young rapper is only just starting his rise.

    The Background:

Lil Zay Osama makes “pain music.” That’s what the South Side native calls his combination of raw, gripping lyrics and a passionate delivery. One of Chicago’s most captivating young voices, the 23-year-old pens heart-wrenching street narratives riddled with eulogies for tragically lost family and friends. With booming drums and poignant melodies, somber trap production scores Zay’s tear-stained memoirs, auto-tune accentuating the hurt embedded in every syllable. It’s a sound that’s resonated far and wide, yet these songs talk directly to those born in the trenches. Since he arrived in 2019, Zay has continued to touch fans. His music encapsulates his greatest strengths and the emotional impact of his heaviest songs conveying the callousness of Chicago street life. A departure from the more celebratory Hood Bible (2019), which Zay recorded while glowing from signing to Warner Records, his latest duology Trench Baby and the recent Trench Baby 2 distill decades of unsettling truths and hard-earned wisdom.Trench Baby 2 as well as the follow-up deluxe edition, which included an array of street hits from “Rumors,” “Ride for Me” (with Jackboy)” to fan-anthems “61st to 64th,” and “We’ll Be Straight.” A gifted storyteller and melodic virtuoso, Zay is able to maneuver between different moods from drill to trap ballads, earning him the praise of XXL, Pitchfork, HipHopDX, Complex and more.
