Morray – “Still Here” ft. Cordae
press release | youtube | spotify | apple

Using his church-trained voice, melodic mastery, and incisive pen, Morray speaks for those going through the struggle. On his 2022 single “Still Here,” the rapper teamed up with a fellow Grammy-nominated NC native in Cordae, as both artists poured their hearts out over layered guitars and hard-hitting trap percussion. Morray opens the song with a emotional hook about his attempts to find liberation while still playing in the rap game, and Cordae follows with a thoughtful and penitent verse about his upbringing and his desire to keep it real: “Oh Lord, Oh Lord I heard you/Found myself and I’m searchin’/We been sinnin’ but won’t do it on purpose,” says Cordae. The Fayetteville, NC native follows up the Raleigh, NC native with a verse of his own, as he speaks on the stressful life of an artist on the move

Lil Zay Osama – “F*ck My Cousin Pt. 2” ft. Lil Durk
press release | youtube | spotify | apple
They say blood runs thicker than water, but in 2022, Chicago rapper Lil Zay Osama proved that family ties don’t supersede the iron laws of the streets. Zay’s song “F*ck My Cousin” became an anthem in his hometown, drawing enough local attention to catch the ear of Lil Durk, who hopped on the remix. Aligned in spirit, intent, and city, Lil Zay Osama and Durk emit the ethos of the South Side, flaunting natural chemistry that can only come from the genuine brotherhood. It may be their first collaboration since 2019, but their connection is stronger than ever. “F*ck My Cousin Pt. 2” was a vicious highlight from Trench Baby 3, Lil Zay Osama’s mixtape, out now via Warner Records.

Central Cee – “L.A. Leakers Freestyle”
press release | youtube | spotify | apple

Whether you say “what’s up” or “wagwan,” or trap out of a vacant “apartment” or “flat,” Central Cee wants you to know he’s speaking your language. During a viral freestyle delivered on the L.A. Leakers Show, Central Cee looked to bridge the gap between U.S. and UK slang, cleverly comparing the lexicons used by rappers in each country. Though the styles are different, Cench proves in a succinct three minutes that the two scenes are not so different after all. Leave it to the UK’s biggest riser to.

Trapland Pat – “Big Business” (Remix) ft. Rick Ross
press release | youtube | spotify | apple

With the versatility to set a vibe on any instrumental, Trapland Pat is an artist for all occasions. Earning a co-sign from the Sunshine State’s sunglass-clad jefe, Pat recruited Rick Ross for Big Business (Remix).” Built around the bouncy piano rolls of Pat’s constant collaborator Pepper Jack Zoe, “Big Business” first saw release in 2021, and quickly became Pat’s breakout hit. Exuding easy confidence and packed with off-beat wordplay (“If you need a loan, you gotta pay me interest/No cappery/ Call the weed man, ’cause this shit here swappery”) the song racked up over 4 million YouTube views and earned recognition from Passion Of The Weiss, who ranked the song #18 on its list of Best Rap Songs of 2021. On the remix, Rick Ross slides like the booming-voiced boss he is, rhyming about carrying extendos in his fresh Rolls Royce and old school Box Chevy.

Along with his acclaimed project Trapnificent, “Big Business” (Remix) establishes Pat as one of the most exceptional talents in the bustling South Florida scene. Just one look at his radiant smile proves that he’s far from finished.

DUSTY LOCANE – “Rollin N Controllin Pt. 3 (Been Rollin)”
press release | youtube | spotify | apple

Two years after he broke into the music industry, the DUSTY LOCANE train rolls along. The Canarsie native impressed once again with the latest installment in his signature series. “ROLLIN N CONTROLLIN Pt. 3” finds a 23-year-old DUSTY reminding listeners who they’re dealing with through a more refined, resonant roar: “I ain’t never d*** ride, switch sides, just for a favor/Try to go against mine, brought six nines, if he tellin’ in the paper.”

The MIDAS-directed video for “ROLLIN N CONTROLLIN Pt.3” finds DUSTY and his blue-clad cohort mobbing out in Washington D.C. Whether he’s flanked by his bandana-waving contingent, standing on his own, or riding around the city in a black Escalade, it’s clear that even in our nation’s Capitol, the only one who represents DUSTY is himself.

MIA GLADSTONE – “Talking Online” ft. Belis
press release | youtube | spotify | apple

Unbound by genre convention or traditional song structure, MIA GLADSTONE‘s warped music appeal to the brain’s intellect and pleasure centers in equal measure. Taking a tuneful, yet uncompromising look at how a young queer woman navigates a digital life, “TALKING ONLINE” is throught-provoking, hip-shaking ear candy. Produced by Mia herself, the electric piano-laden track spans an eventful three minutes, complete with complex chord changes, multiple tempo switches, and dueling lyrical perspectives. After indulging the boor for a short time, Mia flips the script and ups the tempo as she tells the lechers to pipe down, laying down a rhyme that perceptively touches on the fragmented communication that dominates this age.

A highlight from MIA’s eclectic new project LOOPY, “TALKING ONLINE” arrives with a boundary-pushing music video that takes an unflinching look at the horror of modern communication culture. Directed by William Alan Harris, the video for “TALKING ONLINE” mixes the ultra-modern subject matter with aesthetics that harken back to the grainy VHS era and the psychedelic 60s. Though the video paints a nightmarish picture, MIA remains defiant, determined to thumb her haters’ noses by living her truth.

The Songs:

Central Cee – “Doja”
press release | youtube | spotify | apple

Central Cee can captivate audiences with a single phrase, crafting quotable rhymes that seep into the culture. The cheeky opening line of “Doja” helped the song become a viral phenomenon (over 150 million total streams and over 500k creations on TikTok), but the full song demonstrates why Cench is the hottest rising star in the UK. Sliding over the familiary guitar melody with effortless cool, Cench demonstrates the poise and promise of a rising rapper on top of his game: “The mandem celebrate Eid, the trap still runnin’ on Christmas day.”

“Doja” was the high watermark of an astoundingly successful year for Central Cee. His February 2022 mixtape 23 debuted at #1 on the UK Official Charts, but none of the singles from the album reached the heights of “Doja,” which debuted at #2 on the charts and stayed in the upper reaches for weeks. The song’s video marked a major moment for Cench and his home coutnry’s rap scene: “Doja” was the first song by any UK rapper to earn a video from Cole Bennett and a debut on his Lyrical Lemonade channel (66 million views).

Ice Spice – “Munch (Feelin U)”
press release | youtube | spotify | apple

“You thought I was feelin’ you?”

With that six word phrase, a star was born. Hailing from the Bronx (“so I got it from nothin’,” she asserts in her viral On The Radar freestyle), the arrival of “Munch” heralded a new era of New York drill, one defined by Ice Spice’s blasé bars, soft-spoken flow, and “you can’t sit with us” demeanor. Pared down to the bare essentials, the minimalist beat by frequent collaborator RIOTUSA allows Ice Spice to showcase her personality, her soft-spoken wit and laid-back ferocity shining through.

The song earned a notable co-sign from Drake, but the accolades didn’t end there: the song earned breathless praise from PitchforkThe New York Times, and more, and earned the attention of fellow Bronx native Cardi B. With 18 million streams on Spotify and nearly 500k video creations on TikTok, “Munch” is a powerful and playful opening salvo from an artist who will be with us for a long time.

Young Dolph – “Hall of Fame”
press release | youtube | spotify | apple

If rap had a Hall Of Fame, Young Dolph would reach it on the first ballot. The iconic Memphis native passed away last year, but he left behind a prolific catalog of hard-hitting bangers, countless memorable lines, and a thriving Paper Route Empire. Produced by his stalwart collaborator Bandplay, Dolph’s first posthumous single “Hall Of Fame” is a testament to his towering legacy, packed with the high-end flexes for which Dolph is known, but mixing in subtle, yet potent moments of sincerity revealing the heart behind the hustle: “When I was 16, I said ‘It ain’t even about me no more’/This PRE on my chest, it’s a multi-million dollar logo.”

Dolph’s presence loomed large over the year, which saw releases from nearly every artist on the Paper Route Empire roster. His fans streamed his catalog more than ever before–Young Dolph was one of the Top 75 most streamed artists in 2022, with over 1 billion on-demand plays to his name.

$NOT – “Doja” ft. A$AP Rocky
press release | youtube | spotify | apple

Lashing out at the world from behind his ever-present hoodie, $NOT sublimates his antisocial tendencies into aggressively catchy rap songs. The 24-year-old artist’s meteoric rise attracted the attention of A$AP Rocky, who executive-produced the acclaimed Ethereal album and lent his vocal talents to “Doja,” a confrontational banger that played to both artists’ strengths. Produced by Dee B, “Doja” is a bass-boosted banger that finds $NOT wilding out over sirenic vocal samples and speaker-knocking 808s, shouting down his haters with four-letter epithets. On the song’s second verse, Rocky slides in with a supernatural calm, assaulting the upbeat with assonant syllables. The song arrived with a video directed by HIDJI, a member of Rocky’s AWGE collective.

“Doja” caused a stir upon its release, trending on Twitter at midnight shortly after it dropped, and catching the attention of Doja Cat herself. “Doja” debuted at #87 on the Hot 100, making it $NOT’s first Hot 100 placement as a lead artist, and has generated over 50 million streams on Spotify alone.

Joyce Santana – “Besties” (Remix) ft. Young Miko, YOVNGCHIMI, Villano Antillano, and Luar La L
press release | youtube | spotify | apple

A rising artist who impresses with his pen and his pipes, Joyce Santana is one of the standout talents in a flourishing Puerto Rico music scene. The Rimas Ent. artist united with another PR rising star in the spring when he recruited Young Miko for “Besties,” a percolating club banger that caught fire on the island. For the supersized “Besties” (Remix), Joyce and Miko return, but also welcome a new verse Villano Antillano, the first trans woman rapper to make waves in the reggaeton scene who recently earned notice in Rolling Stone, as well as standout performances from red hot reggaetonero Luar La L and rising trap star YOVNGCHIMI.

“This is not for ‘culture’, this goes much further,” said Joyce Santana upon the song’s release“This is possibly the biggest thing I’ve done in my entire career so far, this is HISTORY. This is dedicated to all minorities. To my black brothers and sisters who have always been marginalized and who I will represent until the last day as that is what I came for. To my brothers and sisters from the LGBTQIA community who have to live day by day and go through more than those who single them out for nothing could bear, and to my people from the neighborhood who have always had to resort to whatever it takes to survive in this society that It is controlled by the one with $ and godfather, but those are sometimes the real poor people.”

Key Glock – “Proud”
press release | youtube | spotify | apple

Losing a loved one is never easy. Last November, the world lost a legend, a family lost a husband and father, and Key Glock lost his close friend and mentor, the man who plucked him from the streets of Memphis and set him on the path to stardom. On “Proud,” the standout track from Paper Route Empire’s Long Live Dolph compilation tape, Key Glock delves deep into his feelings, processing his sadness and resolving to honor Young Dolph’s memory by going as hard as he can. No matter what he does, Glock knows that Dolph sees him and is proud of what he’s become.

Lil Gnar – “Almighty Gnar” ft. Chief Keef
press release | youtube | spotify | apple

Atlanta multi-hyphenate Lil Gnar‘s iconoclastic attitude, entrepreneurial spirit, and raw rhyme skills prompted Chief Keef to make him his first signee to his new 43B imprint. The two iconoclasts celebrated the impending 43B takeover with “Almighty Gnar,” a titanic beat-switching banger that showcases the unique skills of both rappers. Marked by menacingly triumphant horn fanfares, horror film synths, and hyperactive snares, “Almighty Gnar” reverberates with a grandeur that befits this Godzilla vs. King Kong-like clash of the titans. Sosa leads off the song with a “bang bang,” serving up a stop-starting flow that only the Glo Gang chieftain could’ve conceived. After Keef’s verse, the beat shifts gears to make room for Gnar’s appealing rasp–the Atlanta rapper cycles between infectious flows as he stacks disrespectful flex after disrespectful flex during a supersized verse: “Lil Gnar like a doctor, he be medicated/I need my money now, I ain’t got no patience.”

King Von – “Don’t Play That” ft. 21 Savage
press release | youtube | spotify | apple

The legendary, late King Von was known for his crazy stories, but his acclaimed posthumous album What It Means To Be King proved once and for all that he had many more skills in his arsenal. “Don’t Play That,” the lead single from the album and one of the most successful songs in Von’s catalogue, was a spritely change of pace. Produced by Slaughter Gang’s Kid Hazel, “Don’t Play That” is a bouncy, whirring anthem that emphasizes Von’s playful side. A close friend of Von’s family who has always shown love, 21 Savage is an ideal sparring partner for Von, his deadpan demeanor a perfect foil to Von’s animated delivery.

“Don’t Play That” was an immediate success upon its release, generating 1.4M+ Apple Music streams, 1.2M+ Spotify streams, and 1.1M+ YouTube streams in just its first 24 hours of its release, good for a #40 debut on the Billboard Hot 100. Released in February, the song racked up over 66 million Spotify streams en route to earning GOLD certification from the RIAA in August.

Internet Money – “Flossin” ft. YoungBoy Never Broke Again
press release | youtube | spotify | apple

Few in the music industry know how to navigate its precarious digital landscape better than the decorated artist-producer collective Internet Money and rap superstar YoungBoy Never Broke Again. It was only natural that these two unstoppable forces would eventually collaborate.

“Flossin” is a banger that lives up to the starpower behind its creation, YoungBoy’s bayou-bred sound and gives it the 4K treatment, layering glistening pianos over booming 808s and crisp handclaps, creating an ideal backdrop for the Baton Rouge native to talk his smack. YoungBoy sics himself on the track like a pit bull, alternating bluesy croons with snapping cadences as he explains how his high-flying lifestyle invites hangers-on and makes it hard for him to figure out who to trust.

One of the most streamed YoungBoy songs of the year (there were a lot!), “Flossin'” was included as a bonus track on YoungBoy’s mixtape Colors, and made a #72 debut on the Billboard Hot 100.

TikTok Treats, Week of October 17th

Daft Punk Gets On Board, Carly Rae Jepsen Comes Back For Us, Mary J Blige Offers Positive Affirmations, and More Highlights From a Busy Week of Music on TikTok

    The News:

Each week, the TikTok Treats newsletter gives a snapshot of the state of music on TikTok, touching on trending hits, emerging artists, superstar moves, ascendant memes, and much more. Check out this week’s trends below:

    • Taylor Swift’s Midnights releases on Friday, and TikTok has made it easier than ever to enter her unique world with the new Taylor Swift Midnights content hub, live now on TikTok and the web. The content hub allows fans to explore all aspects of the world of Midnights on TikTok, containing all of her tracklist reveal videos and #SwiftTok content from her legion of fans on the platform. The Taylor Swift Midnights  hub will be updated with the full album playlist when it’s available on Friday, and will populate with user-created videos that use the album’s songs in creative ways. Tune in on Friday to experience Midnights with the TikTok Community.
    • Pop icon Carly Rae Jepsen commands a cult following on TikTok and beyond, who hang upon her every lovingly-crafted lyric and euphoria-inducing chorus. Since releasing her last single “The Loneliest Time,” a collaboration with Rufus Wainwright, on October 7th, she’s been the center of a fun-loving, backward-looking trend that springs from the singer’s personality-driven vocal delivery. The trend surrounds a half-spoken line from the new song–”I’m coming back for you, baby…I’m coming back for you!”–and is perfectly suited for everything from reusing a favorite water glass, procrastinating on necessary school workgiving up alcohol during pregnancy, or leaving friends to go on a “side quest.” With over 16k video creations in less than two weeks, “The Loneliest Time” looks like the latest viral hit for the Canadian singer, who shared her own version of the trend this week and introduced her adorable cat in the process.
    • Country singer Megan Moroney scored her first hit on the Billboard Hot 100 earlier this month, and she has TikTok to give thanks. The self-described “professional emo cowgirl” struck a chord with the community with her song “Tennessee Orange,” an emotional ode to a new love–Moroney, a proud Georgia Bulldogs fan, is even willing to wear the colors of their rival Tennessee Vols to show how much she cares about him. Moroney first teased the song on TikTok in August, promoting it with heartfelt videos and acoustic live performances until she officially released the song in September. Propelled by Moroney’s growing profile, the song has been used to soundtrack best friend reunions, college love stories, and much more, and inspired an acoustic cover by user @carolinesmallwoodmusic that generated over 4.6 million views. With over 35.5k video creations to date, “Tennessee Orange” has become one of the biggest country hits of Fall 2022, reaching a new peak of #75 on the Hot 100 and #20 on the Hot Country Songs chart this week. Meanwhile, Moroney is slyly crediting her song for inspiring UT’s big win over Alabama over the weekend.
    • Mexican group Grupo Frontera has creators in the mood to dance freely with their cover of Colombian folk-pop song, “No Se Va,” originally by Morat. Garnering over 213K+ creations, the Grupo Frontera version of the song gets creators to show off their best moves as they dance with their sistersclassmates, and by themselves in the comfort of their homes. In other recent videos, “No Se Va” soundtracks creators’ quinceañera decoration videoscooking tutorials, and quick hacks for making homemade tortillas. The viral success of “No Se Va” earned Grupo Frontera their first Billboard Hot 100 entry, as it became just the fifth-ever regional Mexican song to reach the Hot 100 in the chart’s 64-year history.
    • The TikTok community prides itself on authenticity. Creators often encourage each other to be confident in being themselves and make their own decisions, regardless of what other people say or do. With this in mind, creators have kicked off a comedic trend sparked by Mary J. Blige’s 1997 R&B hit “I Can Love You” ft. Lil Kim (33K+ creations), in which they portray themselves responding to someone telling them what they would never do. Mary J. Blige’s brief repetition of the line “I can, I can” resonates with creators who could eat sushi every daylove sleeping in their own messy rooms, and can easily cut people off despite what anyone thinks.
    • They’ve been around the world and back again, and now legendary French house duo Daft Punk is on TikTok. The robotic dance overlords joined the platform earlier this week with a bang, sharing a video soundtracked by their 2013 song “Contact” and racking up over 1 million views in 24 hours. The legendary duo’s new TikTok account, which will honor their legacy and share exclusive content from their archives specifically for the channel, arrives with two official Daft Punk filters for fans to use. Created by Dutch effects designer Isabel Palumbo in collaboration with TikTok’s Effect House, the first filter introduces a Daft Punk-style helmet for the community to model, while the second brings to life Charles the Dog–a character first seen in the video for 1998 Grammy-nominated track “Da Funk.” Though the band broke up in 2021, the TikTok account is active–the group already posted a second video, celebrating the 25th anniversary of their debut album Homework.
    • Latinx Heritage Month might’ve wrapped up over the weekend, but the TikTok community is still getting their groove on to past hits by Latinx artists. TikTok creators have given new life to Mexican rapper Ms. Krazie’s 2008 song “A Gangster’s Wife,” as they vibe out to the track in their own creative ways. Boasting over 1M+ total creations, “A Gangster’s Wife” inspires creators as they enjoy affection from a significant othershow off their necktie tying skills, and share the differences between how they handle being sick versus their partner. Ms. Krazie also interacted with her trending sound on, reacting to creators’ videos with the duet feature and thanking fans for making the song go viral on TikTok. Receiving a boost from TikTok, “A Gangster’s Wife” earned a top ten spot on Spotify’s Global Viral 50 charts with over 9 million streams to date.

Rich Amiri Delivers a Soulful Serenade on “Keep All That”

    10.21.2022

Song: Rich Amiri – “Keep All That”

The Boston Teenager Rager Slows it Down to Flaunt his R&B Chops on Silky Smooth New Single

    Critical Praise:

“For someone who has only been rapping for two years, Rich continues to deliver nothing but perfection track after track.”  Lyrical Lemonade

    The Song:

A promising young talent with a versatility beyond his years, Rich Amiri has an arsenal of sounds that grows with each release. Trading in his digital rage sound for one evoking big bands and backup singers, Rich shares his latest single, “Keep All That.” A soulful Pluggnb slow jam that draws influence from iconic crooners like Marvin Gaye and Al Green, Rich taps into his vocal smoothness with the casual rasp of a long day’s end. Over cherubic backing vocals and seductive orchestration, Rich presents an ode to a sneaky link disguised as a vintage R&B romance anthem with refreshing efficacy: “I miss the sex, and your scent, and your touch, but baby I don’t need you.”

“Keep All That” is the latest missive from the busy, Boston-born 18-year-old. Last month, Amiri shared video for the clean-cut “Dirty Money,” which arrived on the heels of the clip for his chest-thumping, Cxdy & Taz Taylor-produced single Can’t Die,” following July’s double-dose of rage with the release of singles “ruthless” and “trouble.” In June, the rapper shared For The Better, his debut project. Featuring appearances from SSGKobeSummrs, and others, the 8-song effort showcased Amiri’s beyond-his-years maturity and sharp songwriting, while Internet Money helped craft a soundscape that suited his inimitable voice.

Since he started uploading songs to his SoundCloud in 2020, Rich Amiri has established himself as a fixture in rap’s burgeoning melodic underground. He first earned recognition with his 2021 song Never Fail,” which surpassed 2.8 million plays on SoundCloud, and he struck again late last year with his bubbling hit “Walk In.” Most recently, the young artist shared the video for his For The Better highlight “Bounty.”

With the respect of his peers and a fast-growing fanbase, Rich Amiri is on the path to stardom. Stay tuned for much more from the rising rapper in the near future.

    The Background:

Hypnotic and honeyed, Rich Amiri’s voice is like little else in rap. Having only recently started taking music seriously, his syrupy melodies have already helped him stand out from his peers in plugg&B–a slurry blend of soul and cloud rap that’s been taking over the internet. Amiri’s humble and nonchalant about his gifts but that hasn’t stopped him from becoming one of his scene’s most free-associative songwriters. He switches lanes with grace, as evidenced by some of the highlights from his recent EP Chase. Tracks like “J10” are low-key and sensitive, while “Never Fail” allows him room to rage, showing off his many sides in quick succession. Though the 18-year-old hails from Boston, he’s a child of the internet who’s been uploading bedroom recordings to SoundCloud since 2020. Like many Gen Z stars, Amiri is something of a one-man army. He says even before he made music, he was on TikTok “from sunup to sundown,” meaning he knew exactly how to get “Never Fail” to go viral—and it’s now inching toward 2 million SoundCloud streams. Amiri’s just getting started, but he’s already starting to accomplish his goals, reaching fans and sharing his innermost feelings. And yet, he’s quickly learned not to force anything. He’s made it this far by trusting his gut, after all. “If it’s a good beat, it’ll speak to me,” he says. “Then I make it speak to other people, too. “

Big Moochie Grape Reveals His Credo in “Get Money Catch Bodies” Video

Big Moochie Grape Reveals His Credo in “Get Money Catch Bodies” Video

    10.20.2022

Video: Big Moochie Grape – “Get Money Catch Bodies” (Prod. by Bandplay)

The Paper Route Empire Artist Shares His Two-Step Recipe For Success in His First New Video Single Since His East Haiti Baby Mixtape

    The Video:

Mixing a thudding delivery with nimble, stutter-stepping flows, Big Moochie Grape rhymes with a charisma that cannot be confined to small spaces. The Paper Route Empire rapper lives up to his humongous billing with Get Money Catch Bodies,” his anthemic new single. Skillfully navigating a Bandplay beat that combines classical piano with hard-hitting Tennessee trap percussion, Moochie displays the hustler mentality endeared him to his late mentor Young Dolph. The East Memphis native stacks triplet after triplet of high-flying flexes, taking potshots at cappers and doubters in the process: “My side of the city they treat me like Jigga/These n**** play games and we sendin’ out missiles,” In the video, Moochie returns to his home neighborhood with some of his PRE brethren, including fellow Memphis rapper SNUPE BANDZ, flexing his East Haiti Baby chain and counting up his cash by the band.

“Get Money Catch Bodies” is the first new song from Big Moochie Grape since he released East Haiti Baby, his full-length debut mixtape that dropped earlier this year. Aided by signature Tennessee-style production from BandplaySosa 808Ayoza, and more, East Haiti Baby chronicles Moochie’s rise from the trap to the top, showcasing the street acumen and sly grin that has him rising in his city and beyond. Continuing a dominant year for Paper Route Empire as they honor Young Dolph‘s legacy, Moochie enlists Key Glock and Kenny Muney for features, and shares a new verse from Dolph himself on mixtape highlight “Fun.” Whether he’s bouncing over a Bill Withers’ sample on “East Haiti Baby,” belting out cash-crazed melodies on “Money Money Money,” or swapping spitfire flows with Dolph on “Fun,” the Memphis native’s colorful charisma shines throughout the 15-track tape.

With the East Haiti Baby (Deluxe) coming soon, Big Moochie Grape continues his climb and keeps Paper Route Empire’s winning streak going strong. Stay tuned for much more from Moochie and PRE.

    View StemDrop press pack HERE

Oct, 19, 2022 – StemDrop launches in collaboration with one of the greatest songwriting teams in history, led by Max Martin. TikTok creators globally are exclusively provided with music ‘stems’ and invited to produce their own versions of a brand-new song written by the prolific hitmakers.

Simon Cowell and Syco Entertainment, the pioneers behind the world’s most successful talent discovery formats, along with award winning international entertainment executive Tim Van Rongen, have partnered with Universal Music Group, the world-leader in music-based entertainment and its Republic Records label to create StemDrop – a new evolution of musical collaboration, curation and artist discovery to be launched exclusively with TikTok and Samsung.

Joining StemDrop for its launch are the prolific hit-making team, Max Martin, Savan Kotecha and Ali Payami. Revolutionizing global music collaboration, StemDrop will act as an incubator for new talent, artistry, and creativity by giving the opportunity for all artists and music creators, from anywhere in the world, the opportunity to collaborate with some of the very best and most iconic songwriting talents of all time.

Made possible by Samsung, there will also be a first of its kind “StemDrop Mixer” on TikTok where creators of all levels can experiment with individual effects, harmonies and melodies to create and upload their own unique version of the song.

Officially launching on October 26th on TikTok, with creative direction from Syco Entertainment and Universal Music Group’s Republic Records and powered by Samsung Galaxy. StemDrop is a never-before-seen platform for artists to showcase their talent to the world.

Max Martin, the prolific producer and songwriter, has produced dozens of the greatest and best known Billboard number 1 singles over the last two decades, including Britney Spears’ “…Baby One More Time”, Backstreet Boys’ “I Want It That Way”, Céline Dion’s “That’s the Way It is”, Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” and The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights”.

Fueled by their passion to collaborate, the multiple Grammy-Award winning songwriters Max Martin, Savan Kotecha (One Direction, Ariana Grande, Katy Perry, Christina Aguilera, The Weeknd)  and Ali Payami (Taylor Swift, The Weeknd) are releasing a version of their brand-new single “Red Lights” for the first StemDrop, kicking-off this new generation of global music collaboration.

TikTok’s community of over one billion users continues to push culture forward and at the heart of TikTok is the belief that anyone can take a sound, creative idea, trend or cultural moment and flip it to collaborate with others and create something entirely original, entertaining and engaging.

On October 26, Max Martin, Savan Kotecha and Ali Payami will release 60-seconds of a brand new single exclusively on TikTok. As soon as the song drops, the community will be able to access the ‘stems’ (the individual components of the song i.e. drums, bass guitar, vocal parts etc) through the StemDrop H5 page and can create, record & share their own unique versions to kick-start their music careers.

As part of the partnership between Samsung & TikTok, announced in September at IFA conference in Berlin, Samsung will be facilitating the program through product innovations that are open to all and exclusive to none.

The StemDrop Profile will also provide TikTok users, and creators a window into the StemDrop process, as new versions of the track from around the world are curated weekly by each of the individual songwriting teams as well as TikTok, Syco, Republic Records and Universal Music Group. TikTok music curator Ari Elkins, singer-songwriter Astrid S and Your Boy Moyo will act as global ambassadors for StemDrop and host daily content on the @StemDrop channel on TikTok.

The official StemDrop channel (@StemDrop) has posted videos today to celebrate the launch of StemDrop and spark excitement among the TikTok community.

Speaking on the launch of StemDrop, Simon Cowell says“Hit songs are like diamonds and they can change an artist’s career overnight. With tens of thousands of songs uploaded every day this idea will give aspiring artists the opportunity to collaborate with some of the most successful songwriters in the world. The premise was always very straightforward… ‘What would happen if the best songwriters in the world wrote a song for the world…….?’ We have no idea what’s going to happen. I do know there are so many incredibly talented people who are trying to stand out and I hope and believe this could make a big difference to their careers. It says everything about Max Martin, Savan and Ali that they have decided to give this song to the TikTok community to record and collaborate with them. And I want to thank them so much for believing in this idea. In addition, I want to thank TikTok, Samsung and Universal for their support and enthusiasm. Again, their passionate support of talented people is amazing.”

StemDrop co-creator Tim Van Rongen comments“I’m thrilled to be part of the next step in talent discovery. I feel it’s the exact right moment to launch a music project where the creative process is fully in the hands of the creators on TikTok. I can’t wait to see what everyone will come up with and think that the world will be surprised by the enormous creative variety that StemDrop and the TikTok community will deliver.”

Ole Obermann, Global Head of Music at TikTok says“We are thrilled to finally announce StemDrop to the world. Some of the biggest names in entertainment, music and technology are coming together to supercharge music discovery in a way never seen before, using the power of the TikTok platform to unearth new talent. Every day, brilliant and promising young artists turn to TikTok to share their music and find a global audience. Now, with the support of industry heavyweights like Syco, UMG, Republic Records and Samsung, together we’re set to revolutionize global music collaboration as we know it.”

Sir Lucian Grainge, Chairman & CEO of Universal Music Group comments: “UMG exists at the intersection of innovation and talent discovery, so we’re excited to partner with Simon and the incredible team he’s assembled to launch this new platform, harnessing the scale of TikTok, to leverage the artistry of creators worldwide.”

Paul Hourican, Global Head of Music Operations at TikTok says“TikTok’s mission is to inspire creativity and bring joy, and with StemDrop our aim is to provide our creative community, wherever they are, an opportunity to collaborate and create with the world’s most iconic songwriters and their work in a new and original way.  The breadth and diversity of musical talent emerging on TikTok every day is breathtaking and we’re committed to opening doors for artists and propelling new talent to find sustained success both on and off the platform. Trapland Pat Elevates the “Vibes” in Horn-Filled New Single

  • Press Release

Trapland Pat Elevates the “Vibes” in Horn-Filled New Single

    10.20.2022

    Video: Trapland Pat – “Vibes

The Broward County Breakout Floats Over a Soulful Instrumental in His First All New Song Since His Trapnificent Mixtape, Arriving With a ShotByJolo Video

    Critical Praise:

“He’s subtly melodic and catchy even outside of the hook. He does the beat justice by making what he grew up with into something new.” – Pitchfork

“”Big Business is the #18 Best Rap Song of 2021–If “Big Business” is any indication, Trapland Pat may well become South Florida’s next rap auteur. In less than two minutes, he deftly connects Broward County’s disparate styles, vibrating at his own zany frequency.” – Passion Of The Weiss

“10 New Miami Rappers To Watch…Trapland Pat is unlike any other act to come out of South Florida. Since 2019, Pat has consistently delivered grimy bars and smooth cadences over an array of trap beats. Over the past three years, the Deerfield Beach native has been feeding his growing fanbase with singles like “Emergency” and “Dealings,” along with four projects: Exit 41, Pak Man, Interstate Baby, and 2020 Vision. (The last two albums were released via Fredo Bang’s imprint Bang Biz Productions/Create Music Group.) In 2021, Trapland Pat dropped his latest project, Thru Da Door, via Bang Biz, featuring collaborations with Kuttem Reese and Members Only rapper Kid Trunks. He’s still pushing his latest single, ‘Boondocks,”‘which dropped last month. However, on Instagram, Pat celebrated the anniversary of his song ‘Big Business’ and teased a potential remix coming later this year.” – Miami New Times

“Over the course of the last few weeks perhaps no one else has hit the scene as hard as Pat…The Florida rapper raps with wide-eyed astonishment, seemingly at his own bars sometimes which become as animated as his facial expressions. To be honest, the sheer confidence Trapland Pat employs on the track here just makes you want to pay attention or risk missing out on something.” – ELEVATOR

    “Trapland Pat makes pretty music.”Stereogum

“South Florida has no shortage of crazy-eyed young rappers with wild hair situations and near-impenetrable drawls, but Trapland Pat still stands out from the rest. The rising star has an outsized charisma and a flair for theatrical imagery, and that would be enough to set him apart. More importantly, though, he knows how to put a song together. He’s not out to transcend trap music; he’s just here to do trap music about as well as it can be done, bringing a vivid and lively bounce that harkens back to the genre’s origins.”Stereogum

    The Video:

Blessed with a buoyant flow and a talent for stacking casual flexes, Trapland Pat stands apart with his innate musicality. Going in atop soulful horns and a funky bassline, Pat struts his stuff on Vibes,” his latest video single. Floating over an instrumental from Vince On The Beat, which combines elements of slinky West Coast hip-hop and classy neosoul, the Bang Biz/Alamo Records signee goes in, emphasizing the grain in his voice as he reveals how he gets faded and flexes on his come up: “Plug say he ran out of Quagen, so I took the Wock/If we ain’t sippin red, then it’s purple, gotta make it stop.”

In the video, directed by Pat’s frequent collaborator ShotByJolo, Pat invites a bevy of baddies to his South Florida mansion for an afternoon of revelry and poolside partying. “Vibes” follows-up Pat’s celebratory video for Big Business (Remix) ft. Rick Ross,” in which Pat recruited the Boss (and a host of other notables including Sauce Walka and FCG Heem) to Miami’s Little Haiti neighborhood for a distinctly Floridian blend of chaos.

“Vibes” is the first wholly new single from the Deerfield Beach, Florida native since he shared the acclaimed Trapnificent mixtape this past summer. Pat’s first release for Bang Biz and Alamo Records, the project boasts several standout singles, including the joyful “Trap Dance” and the sinister “D.O.A.” Pat taps frequent collaborator Pepper Jack Zoe, who produced his breakout hit Big Business,” to handle the bulk of the production, his creeping piano-led beats providing grounding for Pat’s larger-than-life bars and hummable melodies. Trapnificent rolls out the red carpet for a tasteful selection of guests, including, Fredo Bang, who signed Pat to his imprint Bang Biz and appears twice on the tape, Sacramento street hero Mozzy, NYC Winners Circle maestro Eli Fross, and Memphis’ own BIG30Trapnificent earned praise from Pitchfork, who called the project a “zippy distillation of his regional roots” and said that Pat’s music is “extremely regionally and culturally specific, like so much exciting and promising new rap music.”

Ready to keep his momentum going and deliver his searing street raps to a larger audience, Trapland Pat has the goods to be Broward County’s next big star. Trapnificent is available everywhere via Bang Biz Ent./Alamo Records.

Lose Yourself To Daft Punk on TikTok

The French House Music Pioneers Team with TikTok to Create Two Official Daft Punk Filters to Help Fans Celebrate Their Groundbreaking Career

    Follow the Band at @DaftPunk

    The News:

Daft Punk have launched their official TikTok account, celebrating a near three-decade career at the cutting edge of global dance music. The legendary duo’s new TikTok account, which will honor their legacy and share exclusive content from their archives specifically for the channel, arrives with two official Daft Punk filters for fans to use.

Created by Dutch effects designer Isabel Palumbo in collaboration with TikTok’s Effect House, the first filter introduces a Daft Punk-style helmet for the community to model, while the second brings to life Charles the Dog–a character first seen in the video for 1998 Grammy-nominated track “Da Funk.”

The new Daft Punk effects offer fans a new creative way to express their digital love for the pioneering band. Along with the filters, Daft Punk made their incredible full music catalogue available–including smash hits like “Get Lucky,” “One More Time,” “Around The World,” and many more–for fans to use in their video creations

Fans can begin using the filters and creating with the full catalogue starting Tuesday October 18th, with a dedicated Daft Punk playlist launching later this week.

    About Daft Punk
Daft Punk were a French electronic music duo formed in 1993 in Paris by Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. Widely regarded as one of the most influential acts in dance music history, they achieved huge popularity in the late 1990s as part of the French house movement. They garnered critical acclaim and commercial success in the years following, combining elements of house music with funk, disco, indie rock and pop.

Daft Punk’s influence reached further into the mainstream through collaborations with Kanye West and the Weeknd, and the duo’s music was sampled by artists ranging from Missy Elliott to the Fall. Though they reinvented themselves continually, wherever Daft Punk went, the rest of pop music followed.

Separated since February 22, 2021, the duo are sharing their music catalogue with existing fans and introducing their style and sounds to new fans the world over.

Xavier Wulf Locks In, Shares ‘Blood Shore Season 3’ Mixtape

  • Press Release

Xavier Wulf Locks In, Shares ‘Blood Shore Season 3’ Mixtape

    10.18.2022

Project: Xavier Wulf – Blood Shore Season 3

The Memphis Underground Heavy-Hitter Continues a Fan-Favorite Mixtape Series On a Breathlessly Intense 10-Track Effort, With Production from Hitkidd, WhoTheHellisCarlo, and More

    The Project:

Sinking his teeth into atmospheric Memphis instrumentals with locked-in triplet flows, Xavier Wulf does not mess around. Sharing a lean, mean 10-pack of hard-hitting heaters, the Hollow Squad chieftain shares Blood Shore Season 3, his new mixtape. Continuing the Blood Shore Season of projects, the third installment deposits new listeners and loyal fans into Xavier’s shadowy underworld of souped-up sports cars and stacks of cash. The underground hero carries himself like a roguish anti-hero–on the project, he compares himself to Joe Pesci and Captain Jack Sparrow–as he slithers through brooding production by HitkiddWhoTheHellIsCarlo, and many others.

On track 3 “Charles Ruffingham,” Wulf speeds up his flow and raises his intensity level as he takes gleeful pleasure in the complaints of his haters, while the subdued “Last Moon” shows off his melodic side. The new tape is the sequel to 2014’s acclaimed Blood Shore Season 2, home to Psycho Pass,” which earned renewed attention on TikTok in the past year and is well on its way to GOLD certification with over 95 million streams on Spotify alone. The prolific rapper’s first full-length project of the year, Blood Shore Season 3 is available everywhere via Hollow Squad / EMPIRE.

Born in Memphis, Tennessee, and deeply steeped in his home city’s musical tradition, Xavier Wulf had a hand in nearly every major underground rap movement in the past decade. Wulf was one of the first rappers to build a following on SoundCloud, helping make the platform the go-to for aspiring rappers and establishing it as a hub of hip-hop innovation. Throughout his career, Wulf has criss-crossed the invisible line between underground and mainstream, racking up hundreds of millions of streams, and playing to sold out crowds across the country. This year, Wulf killed it on his 29-date “The Midnight Club Tour – Dub Edition,” and recently shut it down with a primetime set at Rolling Loud New York. In late 2021, Wulf collabed with Hollow Squad producer Quintin Lamb for the high-octane GARAGE PUNK EP.

Pushing his sound forward with every release, Xavier Wulf is not even close to finished with his artistic journey.

    The Background:

Xavier Wulf is a man possessed. When he has a dream or sets a goal, it consumes him. When he hears a beat, it takes over his body, commanding him to speak, shout, and let out the rage. As an artist and a person, he is quite literally driven by something beyond himself — maybe that’s a little on the nose for a rapper known for his deep love of street racing and drifting, but it’s also an apt description for his process. When Xavier clicks with an instrumental, he closes his eyes, puts the lyrical pedal to the floor, and lets it all out, following whatever road feels right. Xavier Wulf will soon embark upon the “Midnight Club Tour – Dub Edition,” starting this April.

  • Press Release

DC The Don & midwxst Clash in Claymation on “SUICIDE”

    10.14.2022

Video: DC The Don – “SUICIDE” ft. midwxst

The Rostrum Records Artist Embarks on a Hero’s Journey with the Help of midwxst in a New Video Single as He Prepares for the Upcoming Album FUNERAL

    Critical Praise:

“Not only can he sing with so much emotion behind his words, but he also knows how to masterfully rap as well as switch up his cadences constantly, always keeping you guessing about what he’s going to do next.” – Lyrical Lemonade

“Los Angeles by way of Milwaukee’s DC The Don is part rapper, part rockstar, excelling in the melodic and riotous lane popularized by cult heroes like Lil Uzi Vert and Trippie Redd.” Audiomack

    The Video:

Animated by his fearless creative vision, DC The Don creates music that fearlessly balances forces of good and evil, pleasure and pain, and gain and loss. Fighting to maintain that balance amidst the increasingly hectic life of a rising star, the Rostrum Records artist shares his new video single, “ZOMBIELAND,” the latest glimpse of DC”s next album FUNERAL. Produced by Maaly Raw, the track’s playfully airy instrumental provides the perfect canvas for DC’s bright auto-tuned vocals: “I like the way that you move when you stackin’ it/She hate the way I’ve been practicing abstinence/I don’t want your heart I stole that on an accident/I got a double cup, it’s filled with Activis.”

Though the undead make no appearance in “ZOMBIELAND,” save for a brief doodle, the video captures the similarity between DC’s mental strife and the horrific fantasy of a zombie apocalypse. As he struggles to reconcile his issues with his current partner, he turns to the distractions his rockstar lifestyle offers to ignore the issues. In the life of a riser like DC, the problems you face can exponentiate and overwhelm just as quickly as the money coming in. Whether those problems are with lovers, drugs, or any potential vice, DC knows he must regain the balance he’s always been able to maintain: “Sh*t was all good last week, now this sh*t’s so ugly.”

The new video single arrives as DC The Don prepares for the “FUNERAL Tour. Kicking off in late October, the “FUNERAL Tour” starts in Chicago, continues with a hometown show in Milwaukee on October 29th, and makes stops in Atlanta, Los Angeles, Miami, and more before concluding in Houston in mid-December. Tickets for the “FUNERAL Tour” are available now.

The FUNERAL Tour follows in the wake of “ZOMBIELAND” “HATE IT OR LOVE IT,” DC’s first new singles since releasing My Own Worst Enemy, his second studio album, in February. The project, which has racked up over 53 million streams on all platforms to date, tells a loose narrative about DC’s inner conflict, which manifests as a battle between two distinct personalities: the wholesome RAG3 KIDD and the demonic DONNY.

Blending elements of rap, pop-punk, hyperpop, and more, My Own Worst Enemy both expands and refines DC’s sound, allowing the 22-year-old rapper to showcase every facet of his wide-ranging vocal ability. With production by heavy-hitters like JetsonMadeStarboySupah MarioTrademark Charlie HeatAstroboy, and more, who deliver DC some of their most adventurous beats, MOW3 percolates with the energy of a young artist testing the limits of what he’s capable of accomplishing–and having fun while doing it.

Stay tuned for more from the young artist, including his upcoming third album FUNERAL, as his star continues to rise!

    The Background:

DC The Don is a rapper from Milwaukee, WI. In 2016, at the age of 16 and standing 6’7”, DC moved to Los Angeles to pursue a basketball career under Lavar Ball and alongside teammate LaMelo Ball. During this time, he fell in love with music and used his spare time to make experimental records which suddenly gained traction – As the public became increasingly aware of DC The Don’s talent for rapping, NBA player Lonzo Ball featured his song “Everything 1k” on the first Big Baller Brand shoe commercial, introducing DC The Don’s music to an even wider audience. DC signed to Rostrum Records in 2020, releasing his debut album Come As You Are on August 7th, generating over 125 million streams across platforms. The artist looks to reach another level with My Own Worst Enemy, his ambitious new album, available everywhere now.

CEO Trayle Expresses Love (With Caveats) In the Latest Release from Upcoming ‘HH5’ Tape

    10.14.2022

Video: CEO Trayle – “I Love You But…

The Atlanta Artist Processes a Complicated Relationship As He Prepares to Release His Next Mixtape HH5, Coming On October 31st via Do What You Love, LLC/10K Projects

    Critical Praise:

“The most unnerving villainous laugh you’ll hear this week won’t be in the new Batman movie—it’s in the opening seconds of CEO Trayle’s “Rendezvous.” The way Trayle uses his shapeshifting flow to rattle off threats brings to mind the more sinister side of Chief Keef.” – Pitchfork

“So many rappers stay in one gear for an entire song, but Trayle’s music constantly shifts the rhythm, keeping your ears perked so you don’t get lost as he speeds up. He goes from biting punched-in threats and making singsong taunts to an ominous, slithery flow that leaves you looking behind your shoulder to make sure he isn’t talking about kicking in your backdoor.”  – Pitchfork

“The hunger in his rapping turns every song into a boxing ring to prove himself victorious.”The FADER

“Atlanta’s CEO Trayle is going hard in 2022. The rapper’s earned quite the reputation in the rap game over the past few years. Projects like the Happy Halloween series have cemented him as the one to look out for. “ – HotNewHipHop

“On his recent single, “OK Cool,” Trayle takes a conversational approach, making it clear that—no matter what anyone else in his life is on—he’s still up.” – Audiomack

    The Announcement:

Delivering detailed and conversational rhymes through a devilish grin, CEO Trayle is the specter who haunts the Atlanta trap scene. Working through his romantic feelings like only he can, Trayle shares I Love You But…,” his new video single. Produced by DiorMadeItEvrgrn, and A3, “I Love You But…” is a slinky and aqueous trap instrumental, combining fluttering synths and skittering hi-hats to provide the atmosphere for Trayle’s real talk. The song is a one-sided conversation between Mr. Back Door and his main squeeze, as he wrestles with his conflicted feelings–he wants to spend extra time with his girl, but still feels the need to keep her at arm’s length. In the video, directed by Law & Nick Cohn, Trayle and is one-and-only portray a Bonnie & Clyde-esque couple, each partner confident that the other loves them despite their worst behavior.

“I Love You But…” is the latest glimpse of HH5, his next mixtape, the latest in Trayle’s signature Happy Halloween series. The upcoming mixtape features some of Trayle’s most expansive production to date, with contributions from Dun DealOG ParkerGo GrizzlyTrauma Tone, and Trayle’s frequent collaborator Stribb, among many others. On his fifth annual Trayle keeps the Halloween theme going on his songs, using his sly wit to present himself as a nightmarish figure to haters and opps across the globe. Featuring a guest appearance from FastMoney AntHH5 arrives on October 31st via Do What You Love, LLC / 10K Projects.

“I Love You But…” and HH5 continue a busy year for CEO Trayle, arriving weeks after Viera four-track EP released in July alongside a Q&A with The FADER. The title of the EP translates into the number four in German, a number with mythical and historical significance in Trayle’s life–beyond being the source for his explosive nickname C4. Nine years ago, on July 4th, Trayle suffered seven gunshot wounds as he successfully fought off an attempted home invasion. Trayle survived, but he suffered emotional scars that he still processes every day. The rapper explored his trauma and expressed gratitude for the little things on his recent single July The Fourth,” the EP’s closing track. Vier followed in the wake of Trayle’s 8-song mixtape The Collection, home to highlights like Of Course,” the tape’s closing track.

CEO Trayle is following in the footsteps of his hero Gucci Mane, crafting street raps that are at once down-and-dirty and refined. The 28-year-old artist’s music found an audience, and earned praise among publications like PitchforkAudiomack, and many more, for his gritty bars and sinister steez. Trayle’s trajectory skyrocketed after he released Ok Cool,” a viral hit that generated over 60 million streams and earned a remix from Gunna.

With much more music on the way and much further to rise, CEO Trayle is primed to take over the rap game.

    The Background:

CEO Trayle has a rare sense of vision. The prolific Atlanta-based rapper and CEO/founder of 1080 Trademark Records sees the music industry the way a great point guard does a basketball court. He understands cause-and-effect, knowing how dropping one frosty, minimalist single will shape the perception around his next project. But occasionally he exceeds even his own expectations. His breakout single, “OK Cool,” a deadpan rebuke to an ex, earned more than 60 million streams, even though Trayle didn’t foresee it as a blockbuster when he made it. The momentum from that track, and its Gunna-assisted remix, paved the way for The Collection, a thrilling, visceral release that showcases the 28-year-old MC’s multi-genre fluency.

SNUPE BANDZ & PaperRoute Woo Feed the Streets with Their New Joint Album, BOYZ N THE HOOD

The Paper Route Empire Artists Go Coast-to-Coast in Video for Project Highlight, “Loyal

The Bluff City Bruisers Go Blow for Blow over 15 Tracks with Appearances From Duke Deuce and Bankroll Freddie

    The Album + Video:

With their money-hungry motives and natural chemistry behind the mic, SNUPE BANDZ and PaperRoute Woo form the latest electrifying tag team to emerge from the South. Showcasing their complimentary styles, with SNUPE as the effortlessly high-flying stunner and Woo as the domineering hard-nosed tactician, the duo shares their new joint project, BOYZ N THE HOOD. Though their Southern synergy is felt throughout the project’s 15 tracks, each artist’s individual strengths shine through brilliantly – on “When I’m Bored,” Woo’s flex-heavy ferocity emerges in rare form, while SNUPE dazzles with his head-turning hooks and clever rhymes on standouts like “Team Player.” With high-energy features from Arkansas’ own Bankroll Freddie and the crunkstar himself, Duke DeuceBOYZ N THE HOOD is available everywhere now via Paper Route Empire.

Along with the joint album, the pair share their new bicoastal video for the standout track “Loyal.” In the SoCal spirit of the John Singleton film that inspired the project’s title, the clip for the bass-thumping track opens on SNUPE as he rolls through Studio City in a baby blue Corvette, with Woo tailing close behind in his blacked out Hellcat SRT. After posing before a mural of their mentor Young Dolph and sliding through Compton to pick up packs, the duo reemerges on the East Coast with their black and blue whips at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center. With Paper Route Empire comfortably seated atop their city, the “Boyz” could be coming soon to a hood near you as they look to expand their dominance.

SNUPE BANDZ and PaperRoute Woo have a long history of collaborations, dating back to 2020’s In My Bag” and continuing through last year’s Pop Out,” which drew 1.8 million YouTube views. Both SNUPE and Woo joined their mentor Young Dolph on Nothing To Me,” a standout single from last year’s PAPER ROUTE iLLUMINATi mixtape, generating over 8.9 million views, and they later took the stage in remembrance of their role model during a tribute set at Rolling Loud California. The two Memphis natives made memorable appearances on Paper Route Empire Presents: Long Live Dolph, the recent PRE compilation tape: SNUPE shined on his solo showcase “I Know Why,” and connected with Joddy Badass for the sensual “I Like,” while Woo flashed his mastery of flow in Fully Equipt.”

The U.K. Breakout’s Latest Viral Moment Arrives on the Heels of His UK #2 Hit “Doja” and Ahead of His “Still Loading” World Tour

    Critical Praise:

23 displays just how good Central Cee is in the business of making records.” – The Guardian

“A fast rising voice” – Rolling Stone

“The UK’s new rap superstar” – The Face

    A suave demeanor” – Pitchfork

“London’s rapper of the moment” – Evening Standard

“Essential within the scene” – Crack

    “Forever-buzzing” – Noisey

“Who is bigger than Central Cee right now?” – NME

“Central Cee deserves his seat at the table.” – Trench

    The Announcement:

Central Cee is unstoppable. Today [October 14th 2022], the West London superstar has dropped a surprise EP titled No More Leaks, complete with a Suave-directed visual for the third track on the release “One Up,” a song that Cench shared a snippet of back in September. “[I’m] only dropping this cos they leaked it.”

The video for “One Up” sits on a newly created ‘Live Yours’ channel – the YouTube home of Central Cee’s record label, of the same name, which will highlight different musical artists from across the globe.

No More Leaks opens with the raw, open and honest “Chapters,” a freestyle in which Cench continues to own a sound and style entirely his own, by meshing together his own personal experiences with his ongoing journey. “They think that I came up quick, they don’t know ‘bout the rest of the chapters.” It’s a moment of reflection, of gratitude; but also of power: “I had a big dream from young, some shit that I’ve done I couldn’t imagine.” An inimitable lyricist with an instantly recognizable vocal, Cench reveals how far he’s come: “The show that I done today, is more than my parent’s life savings.” Constantly growing and learning through his craft, Central Cee’s music has allowed him to travel the globe: “I thought that my life was hard till i went to the orphanage in Lagos,” he explains, reflecting on his first trip to Nigeria, where he played to a packed out stage at Homecoming in Lagos; touched by the enormous and engaged fan response so far away from home.

The EP continues with the aptly named “Bumpy Johnson,” on which Cench touches on his global success and incomparable journey, as well and his focus on making connections and collaborations across Europe: “made a French connection, see the blue print working, now they go Paris as well.” A note to his fellow artists that it’s impossible to recreate his path. His journey is of his design – live yours, not mine.

No More Leaks lands just ahead of the “Still Loading World Tour,” which continues (after starting with dates in Australia and New Zealand) in Madrid, Spain, on October 31st. The tour culminates in London on November 22nd, where Central Cee will play a highly anticipated headline homecoming show at the historic Alexandra Palace.

In Summer 2022, Cench released his viral smash single “Doja, a track that marked a huge moment, as he became the first ever UK artist to have a video directed by Cole Bennett, and hosted on the Lyrical Lemonade YouTube channel. Since then, “Doja” has racked up over 250 million global streams and Cench became the first UK artist to have the most streamed hip hop track globally on Spotify in one week, also landing a #2 debut on the UK Official Charts.

With an international appeal and high anticipation around his every move, Central Cee is the UK’s hottest and most followed rapper, with a social audience of over 8 million, and an awe-inspiring 2 Billion global artist streams. Transcending the UK rap scene, 65% of Central Cee’s fans are outside of the UK, with him regularly charting across the globe. His recent LA Leakers freestyle has become the second most viewed on their youtube channel this year, with over 3.3 million views.

At the top of 2023, Central Cee whipped up a frenzy with the release of his critically acclaimed 23 mixtape – a project that debuted at Number 1 in the UK official charts, and followed on from 2021’s Wild West, which was the highest selling British debut project of the year.

Accolades are numerous for this high-flying young artist. Following on from his chart-scaling single and platinum viral hit “Obsessed With You,” Cench released a GRM Daily Duppy, which went on to be the highest charting in history. Earning a stellar position in 2022’s BBC Sound Poll, Central Cee consequently received an astounding three Brit Award nominations – for Best New Artist, Best Song and Best British Hip Hop, Rap, Grime act. Not forgetting his feature on the platinum-certified “Overseas” with D-Block Europe, which was one of 2022’s highest selling UK Rap singles.

Central Cee is without a doubt the biggest name of the moment and impossible to ignore.

    The Background:

Central Cee has an undeniable magnetism. On Christmas Day 2021, in the wake of his enormous Pink Pantheress-sampling single “Obsessed With You,”  he released a GRM Daily Duppy (a performance on one of the UK’s most popular street rap platforms), which went on to be the highest charting in history. This year, after a stellar position in 2022’s BBC Sound Poll, Central Cee consequently received an astounding three BRIT Award nominations, for Best New ArtistBest Song, and Best British Hip Hop, Rap, Grime act. Late last year, Central Cee won Best Male Artist and Breakthrough Artist of The Year at the GRM Awards, accolades which add to his already incredible position as Spotify’s Radar Artist and YouTube’s Artist On The Rise, not to mention his recent double gong win at the MOBO Awards for Best Newcomer and Best Drill Act. The young superstar is currently gracing the cover of The Face Magazine, where he reveals the motivations that drive his rapid rise to the top.

Astounding fans and critics alike, CC’s independently released debut mixtape Wild West was the highest selling independent project of 2021 and 2021’s only UK debut project to go Gold. The mixtape landed in the wake of the hugely successful singles “Loading” and “Commitment Issues”, breaking internationally and sending his name reverberating across the globe. Cench has a keen eye for fashion–on his debut tape campaign, Cench collaborated with UK Streetwear brands Corteiz,  and Trapstar on merch lines, both of which sold out within 60 minutes. The 23 mixtape campaign follows on in this vein, with CC releasing his own 23 merch, creating a fan-art led physical edition of the tape, and collaborating with Trapstar on a merch line once again.

With co-signs from The Guardian, Pitchfork, NME, Clash, The Face, Complex, Crack, the late Virgil Abloh and other global music icons, Central Cee is taking over, and the 23 mixtape’s arrival is certain to propel him even further on his unparalleled journey.

    “Racks Stuffed Inna Couch” artwork

    Critical Praise:

    Rolling Stone’s 200 Best Hip-Hop Albums of All-Time (Finally Rich, #32)

“There is still nothing that feels like ‘Love Sosa,’ the breakout single from a then 17-year-old Chief Keef, from his debut album, Finally Rich. The Chicago rapper’s melodic, hard-nosed anthem shook the foundation of hip-hop. The kids were taking control in a way that the genre had never seen.” – Rolling Stone

“There’s no denying the influence of Keef’s menacing production, straightforward verses, and early D.I.Y. rap ethos on the generation of hip-hop artists that has followed.”Pitchfork

“The influence and staying power of Chief Keef really cannot be overstated.” – The FADER

“Chief Keef is one of the most influential rappers of all time. On ‘Racks Stuffed Inna Couch,’ Keef continues iterating upon his nasty flow.” – Audiomack

    The Announcement:

He’s established himself as the most influential rapper of his generation, but Chief Keef is not finished innovating. The proud Chicago native prepares to follow up one of his most acclaimed projects, officially announcing Almighty So 2, his next album. Released on October 12th, 2013, the original Almighty So was one of Sosa’s most mind-bending projects, home to beloved deep cuts like “Blew My High.” Home to the viral hit “Tony Montana Flow,” which racked up over 140k video creations on TikTok and 270k+ ShazamsAlmighty So 2 releases later this year via Chief Keef’s new venture 43B and is now available for pre-order.

To celebrate the announcement of the tape, Sosa shares the new single “Racks Stuffed Inna Couch.” Produced by Young Malcolm, a frequent collaborator of Sosa who produced his acclaimed recent single “Chief So.” “Racks Stuffed Inna Couch” finds Sosa slithering over sinister fanfares and skittering hi-hats with an irresistible sneering affect. The 27-year-old reaches into his bag of flows, emerging with an addictive cadence that places some serious stank on the last word of each bar as he gleefully dismisses all frivolous business: “You ain’t talkin’ bout the green, I fade to black.”

Uncountably prolific, yet never seeming to run out of ideas, Chief Keef is embarking on a new chapter of his storied career. Earlier this year, he announced the formation of 43B, his new record label formed in junction with BMG, and signed its first artist, Lil Gnar. The two 43B artists combined for the recent single “Almighty Gnar,” a beat-shifting banger. In December 2021, the rapper shared his critically acclaimed project 4NEMhome to viral single Yes Sir” and titanic opener “Bitch Where,” prominently used in the fourth season of FX’s Atlanta, and founded his new Web3 venture DigiGlo. Earlier this year, the hip-hop world commemorated the tenth anniversary of the release of Keef’s album Finally Rich, it’s Platinum-selling breakout hit “Don’t Like,” and the drill movement that he kickstarted.

With Almighty So 2 on the way and more milestones to achieve, Chief Keef plans for an eventful close to the year. Stay tuned for much more.

    “His future is bright”XXL

“South Carolina rock-infused rapper Dro Kenji has been on a tear since last August when he received a call from the Internet Money team. Releasing project after project, Kenji has been showcasing his impressive vocals and emotion-filled lyrics. With his newest project, “F*CK YOUR FEELINGS”, we see Kenji’s most confident and cohesive work.” – Earmilk

“Once he selects a beat, the melodies and lyrics flood over him like an epiphany. The result is raw and heart-sinking music, meant to be a guiding light to fans.”  – Audiomack

    The Video:

Dro Kenji exudes raw emotion through his rich vocal tenor, carrying a melody like few others in the rap game today. Today, the 20-year-old artist announces the ANYWHERE BUT HERE Tour,” a 13-date tour embarking this fall. Kenji will co-headline seven of the tour’s dates with fellow rising star Midwxst. Kicking off in Seattle on October 30th, the tour makes stops in Atlanta (11/19), Chicago (11/25), and Toronto (11/27) before finishing in New York City on November 29th. Tickets for “ANYWHERE BUT HERE Tour” are available now.

Along with the tour announcement, Kenji shares the video for OH WOW,” the standout opening song from his recent project ANYWHERE BUT HERE. Produced by Earl On The Beat, Census , Paryo & Taz Taylor, “OH WOW” is a slinky, yet expansive ode by Kenji to his vices, which range from mind-altering substances to earth-shattering lust: “You’ve been stuck inside my head/Yes, I’m a fiend, wow-wow/Sometimes I just wake up from my dreams and scream out loud/Cause I need my loud/And I need my drugs/Baby, you’re my drug.” In the video, Kenji takes a trip to NYC, where he dances on rooftops in Brooklyn and ruminates in a Downtown subway station. The new video follows up “SHALLOW,” the latest in a line of many quality visuals from ANYWHERE BUT HERE.

Home to the buzzing Mike Dimes-featured track “STEP BACK,” currently charting in Spotify’s U.S. Viral 50, and featuring appearances from fellow rising stars like MidwxstKa$hdami, and NoCap, the 13-track ANYWHERE BUT HERE captures the breadth of Kenji’s ever-improving artistry. On “SO WHAT” ft. DC The Don, Kenji injects his melodies with monstrous energy, while “CIGAR” captures a fatigued ferocity as Kenji howls his heartache at the moon. When presented with cinematic instrumentals from Internet Money producers like Census and his MiraTouch label head Nick Mira, Kenji rises to the occasion, belting lovelorn relationship tales and diabolical flexes through his full-bodied tenor. ANYWHERE BUT HERE is available everywhere via MiraTouch/Internet Money Records/10K Projects.

    The Background:

Dro Kenji’s rise is a testament to the power of the internet. Last year, the 19-year-old artist was a senior in high school in South Carolina, releasing a string of captivating singles and mixtapes on his SoundCloud. Now, he’s preparing to release his debut album on Mira Touch/ Internet Money Records/ 10K Projects, collaborating closely with the label’s team of platinum-certified producers, and hoping to earn some plaques of his own. A true child of the digital age, raised on video games and the lo-fi sounds of rap’s online underground, he has a remarkable ability to capture both the apathy and aspiration of his generation in his songs and a spellbinding voice with which to tell these stories.

MEDIA ALERT: Dream Chasers’ Tafia Joins Charlie Sloth for “Fire In The Booth” Freestyle

    10.13.2022

Freestyle: Tafia – “Fire In The Booth

The Dream Chasers Rapper Shares a Fiery Freestyle as His Song “Paper Route” ft. Young Dolph Reaches #35 on Billboard’s Mainstream R&B/ Hip-Hop Airplay Chart

    Critical Praise:

“The mixtape collection showcases his versatility as a writer, whose storytelling lyrics are influential, inspiring, and relatable, as well as his ability to implement and execute creative control over his work.” RESPECT Mag

Ten Miami Rappers to Watch in 2021Miami New Times

    The Video:

Miami rapper Tafia caught the attention of the game’s best and brightest with his rhyming prowess and raspy delivery. The Dream Chasers rapper showed off his skills off the dome on his brand new Fire In The Booth freestyle on Apple Music. Encouraged by the energetic host Charlie Sloth, Tafia goes in, starting the freestyle with tales of his rough-and-tumble upbringing before progressing to high wattage flexing. About halfway through, he delivers what Charlie Sloth calls one of his favorite lines of the year: “F*ck, I ain’t doin’ this sh*t for nothin/My watch a cougar, 41 and she bussin’.”

The new Fire In The Booth freestyle arrives amidst the rise of “Paper Route,” Tafia’s collaboration with the late Young Dolph. With a video that came out earlier this month, “Paper Route” is becoming a radio favorite, reaching a new peak of #35 on on Billboard’s Mainstream R&B/ Hip-Hop Airplay Chart. The Donn Suave & DummyBeatz-produced track is a lyrical showcase and a highlight from Mention My NameTafia’s recent project.

“Much respect to Dolph and his family,” says Tafia. “He kept it solid with me so it’s only right I showed my respects the right way in this video.”

Born to parents of Haitian descent, Tafia taught himself to rap during a long bid in juvenile detention, using his artform as a way to cope with his trauma and isolation. After his release, Tafia flooded the streets with his music, drawing attention with his searing intensity and unique vocal timbre. He made waves with his signature mixtape series Street Fanci, which caught the attention of Meek Mill, who eventually signed Tafia to be the first signee to his Dream Chasers Records label, a joint venture with Roc Nation.

Intent on building his legacy and creating an empire of his own, Tafia has positioned himself to be the next Miami rapper to hit it big. Considering all he’s already been through, it would be unwise to bet against him.

    The Background:

Born in North Miami to parents of Haitian descent, Tafia is a determined and prolific rapper who has overcome immense odds on his path to stardom. While serving a 7 year bid in the Miami Federal Detention Center, Tafia taught himself to rap as a way to cope with his feelings of loneliness and isolation. During his stint, he coincidentally encountered the iconic hip-hop legend Fat Joe and they quickly became friends After hearing him rap, Fat Joe gave Tafia high-praise which boosted his confidence and encouraged him to take the craft seriously. After Tafia was released in 2015, he was determined to flood the streets with music and establish himself and his career as a rapper. Tafia wasted no time, quickly dropping a number of singles and mixtapes, including the first two installments of his Street Fanci series, which found their way to the legendary rapper Meek Mill.

Meek was immediately struck by Tafia’s natural abilities on the mic and invited him to his Yacht in the Miami harbor for a meeting. Tafia and his crew pulled up to the Yacht on jet skis and, upon greeting them, Meek quickly launched into a freestyle of Tafia’s song “Street Fanci”—an inspiring and affirming moment for Tafia. Two years later, Dream Chasers partnered with Roc Nation prompting Meek Mill to ask Tafia to be the introductory signee of his new venture, cementing Tafia as the next-up out of the Sunshine state. Tafia went on to release the conclusion to his Street Fanci series, Street Fanci 3, as well as a joint EP with Florida rapper Major Nine, titled Fanci No.9, and his latest mixtape was curated by the legendary DJ Drama, Street Clarity: Gangsta Grillz, which featured artists like Meek Mill, Rick Ross, and Bobby Fishscale. After the success of that project, Tafia’s focus is on his upcoming debut album Mention My Name, which came out on March 18th release date and maintained his momentum in 2022.

TikTok Treats, Week of October 10th

    The News:

Each week, the TikTok Treats newsletter gives a snapshot of the state of music on TikTok, touching on trending hits, emerging artists, superstar moves, ascendant memes, and much more. Check out this week’s trends below:

      • Blink 182, pop-punk’s most popular power trio, is back, and fans are rejoicing. The band behind “All The Small Things” made a big announcement this week: the original lineup of Mark HoppusTom DeLonge, and Travis Barker are reuniting for their first album and tour since 2015. The band let the cat out of the bag with an announcement on their TikTok account, braving the heat of the Cali sun in oversized rabbit costumes to promote their upcoming single “Edging,” coming Friday with a video directed by Cole Bennett. The snippet of “Edging” is available as a sound on TikTok, and fans are already using it to signal their excitement for the return of their favorite band to its original form.
      • Memphis rapper GloRilla and Bronx superstar Cardi B are both favorite artists of the TikTok community, previously trending on the platform with songs like GloRilla’s “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” (399K+ total creations) and Cardi’s “Up” (3.1M+ total creations). Joining forces in late September for their collaboration, “Tomorrow 2,” the duo is trending once again on TikTok. Garnering over 110K total creations, the high-energy track inspires creators to shout the lyrics with their besties. Creators tap their friends to recite Cardi B’s emphatic verse in call-and-response style as they prepare for Halloween, hang out in the hallway between classes, and chill on the bleachers during a school event. Cardi B did her part to keep the song circulating on TikTok, attempting to remake GloRilla’s signature dance move. The song’s viral success earned GloRilla and Cardi B a top 3 spot on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Additionally, “Tomorrow 2” made a top 10 debut on the Hot 100 chart, becoming GloRilla’s first top 10 and top 40 hit and Cardi B’s 11th Hot 100 Top 10 hit.
      • From Bonnie Tyler’s “Holding Out for Hero” to Kate Bush’s recently chart-topping “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God),” 80s pop has continued to emerge as one of the most popular genres among the TikTok community. The newest 80s bop to make its rounds on the platform is When In Rome’s 1988 new wave hit “The Promise.” With over 46.7K total creations, the song inspires creators to express their affinity for 80s music, make cocktails inspired by less-than-desirable behavior from their exes, and create slideshows of relatable Kermit memes. One of the most interesting uses of “The Promise” comes from @RodgerCleye, a creator who specializes in karaoke versions of popular songs and takes requests from the TikTok community.

LUCKI Celebrates FLAWLESS LIKE ME’s Top 15 Debut, Shares “13” Video

  • Press Release

LUCKI Celebrates FLAWLESS LIKE ME’s Top 15 Debut, Shares “13” Video

    10.11.22

    Video: LUCKI – “13

“13” Is the Latest Video From the Chicago Rapper’s New Album FLAWLESS LIKE ME

Featuring Appearances From Future and Babyface Ray, the 24-Track FLAWLESS LIKE ME Racked Up 25k Units in Its First Week For A #12 Debut on the Billboard 200

    Critical Praise:

“Lucki Can Tell Nothing But His Truth…Lucki is shameless about his pain. Whether the 22-year-old Chicagoan—born Lucki Camel Jr.—is rapping about his bouts with depression and anxiety, his role in sabotaging his romantic relationships, or his prescription drug addiction, he refuses to hide his flaws. His candor about his life lows has made him a relatable antihero to a loyal cult following of fans who regularly take to social media with comments like, ‘Lucki changed my life’ or ‘Lucki gets me’ whenever he releases new music or opens up about his struggles publicly.” – Pitchfork

“Lucki has been applying the truths of this life to his music for the better part of a decade.” – Complex

“Lucki has been building his resume for years, crafting understated, infectious tracks that have shades of fellow Chicagoans like Chief Keef and Supa Bwe, but a swagger and sensibility that is all his own.” – Pigeons & Planes

“Lucki’s music can feel like you’re about to be submerged in a swamp or like you’re about to fall asleep behind the wheel of the Lamborghini from Suicide Squad – The FADER

‘On this blessed day, we also get Days B4 III, the new full-length from Lucki, the muttering young cult-rap icon whose self-destructive lyrics have the power to punch you in your soul.” – Stereogum

    The Video:

After steadily building a rabid fanbase over the course of nearly a decade, LUCKI is finally ready for mainstream recognition. His debut on the Billboard 200 chart shows just how big the cult of LUCKI has grown–his album FLAWLESS LIKE ME debuted at #12 on the chart, with over 25k sales-equivalent units in its first week.

To celebrate the album’s stellar debut week, LUCKI shares 13,” a brand new music video. Produced by frequent collaborator BrentRambo, “13” is a brightly-colored flexer’s anthem, as LUCKI speaks on his collection of high-powered luxury vehicles and compares himself to James Harden, who wore #13 during his time with the Houston Rockets. Shot in crisp black & white, the new video for “13” finds the young rapper living it up in New York City in the lead-up to last month’s Rolling Loud New York. During his NYC trip, LUCKI dined in fine restaurants, explored subway tunnels, and drew a crowd of thousands to the city streets for his album release party in SoHo.

“13” follows the Cole Bennett-directed video for COINCIDENCE” as the latest video from FLAWLESS LIKE ME. Accompanied by carnival-esque, blissful synth melodies that provide a counterpoint to LUCKI’s purr, the fast-rising rapper paints a surreal portrait of his semi-charmed life–LUCKI swerves in his souped-up foreign in one bar, before bemoaning a lost love or wistfully recounting his struggles with drug addiction. For the first time ever, LUCKI rolls out the red carpet for guest rappers–on “KAPITOL DENIM” ft. Future, LUCKI goes toe-to-toe with Pluto himself, and he trades twisting verses with Babyface Ray in the woozy and hard-hitting “WHITE HOUSE.” Boasting a laundry list of talented producers including Tay KeithBobby Raps, Hurtboy, BhristoCash Cobain, and more, FLAWLESS LIKE ME is available everywhere via EMPIRE.

FLAWLESS LIKE ME continues a busy year for the 26-year-old underground hero, marked by sold out shows, festival performances, and 350 million on-demand streams in 2022 alone. The new album arrives in the wake of a string of successful singles, most notably SUPER URUS,” which generated over 15 million Spotify streams and 3.5 million YouTube views to date, and triumphant fan favorite Y NOT?” (3.1 million YouTube views). Both “SUPER URUS” and “Y NOT?” appear on FLAWLESS LIKE ME as bonus tracks.

In August, LUCKI connected with Internet Money for “2K In The Soda,” a woozy new banger from their new EP. LUCKI embarked on a fast-selling tour in the spring, and shut it down this summer with performances at festivals like Rolling LoudLyrical Lemonade’s Summer SmashSo What!, and Rolling Loud Portugal. The new album FLAWLESS LIKE ME follows up WAKE UP LUCKI, the artist’s late-2021 project, a full collaboration with Working On Dying producer F1LTHY.

With his new album making a splash and a legion of devoted fans awaiting his every move, it’s only a matter of time before LUCKI takes over the game.

    The Background:

Cultivating an ever-growing following since he debuted in the rap game in 2013 at 17, LUCKI has earned glowing praise from both critics and industry figures, including shoutouts from Pharrell and Justin Timberlake. He’s collaborated in the past with the likes of A$AP Rocky, Chance The Rapper, Playboi Carti and many others. The rapper formerly known as Lucki Eck$ feeds his fans with a consistent output of boundary-pushing music that plumbs the depths of his soul.

LUCKI had a breakout year in 2019, during which Lucki collaborated with ChaseTheMoney and Earl Sweatshirt, released acclaimed projects Freewave 3 and Days B4 III, and earned praise from Pitchfork, who raved “Lucki’s music works so well in large part due to his ear for production, plodding hi-hats that make it feel like your brain is stuck in quicksand, and his eerie, doomsday melodies.” 2020 was another banner year for the young artist, featuring the release of his 12-track project Almost Therehome to the fan favorite single “Faith.”

Ron Suno, DUSTY LOCANE, Rah Swish & OnPointLikeOP Share “Bust Down” Video from SAY DAT EP

    10.7.2022

Video: Ron Suno, DUSTY LOCANE, Rah Swish, and OnPointLikeOP Share “Bust Down” video from SAY DAT EP

The Cross-Borough Collaborators Share An Unrepentantly Raunchy New Video from SAY DAT EP

    Critical Praise:

“Taking a quality-over-quantity approach, every song on the project stands tall, with the introductory ‘ANGELS AND DEMONS’ giving each rapper room to prove their chops.”  Billboard

    The Video:

DUSTY LOCANERon SunoRah Swish, and OnPointLikeOP set out to subvert and exceed expectations with their collaborative SAY DAT EP. Proving that each of the EMPIRE artists can hold their own and still shine together, the drill quartet shares the new video for “BUST DOWN”. Backed by an instrumental that gives the NY drill treatment to a ‘90s pop culture staple, with production courtesy of BordeauxNon NativeReece, and Deroux, “BUST DOWN” finds the artists recounting their sexual exploits with the giddiness of high schoolers at the lunchtable, as Ron raps, “I did it a skit with your girl, now she famous/She got nice toes, match with the anklet.”

Directed by Nimi Hendrix, the video for “BUST DOWN” takes all the raunchy rawness of the track and turns it up to ten for a clip that feels like a Project X-style rager at the Playboy Mansion. Kicking off the video, Ron Suno emerges from the massive estate’s doors in a shower robe like Tony Soprano, but he’s not out to grab the newspaper. As DUSTY, Rah, and OP enter the scene, it turns into a full-blown pool party. Though Ron’s not winning any swimsuit contests with his Canada Goose puffer jacket, jeans, and ski mask on in the pool, this robe-clad squad is out to make a splash wherever they go.

SAY DAT is the first collaborative project by this group, but the close-knit, EMPIRE-signed rappers have worked together frequently in the past. This summer, Ron Suno, Rah Swish, and DUSTY LOCANE united for SHOES,” a highlight cut from Ron’s recent project SUNO MODE. DUSTY LOCANE and Rah Swish joined forces on BIG WOOS,” a proud anthem from DUSTY’s late 2021 debut album UNTAMEDOnPointLikeOP connected with DUSTY LOCANE in 2021 for the street hit MOVE DOLEY” and earlier this year for Stickup,” which also featured Jim Jones, and teamed up with Rah Swish on the fiery Always Workin.

All four rappers spent this year staking their claim as major figures in the NYC rap scene. Ron Suno racked up tens of millions of streams on his hit song “What They All Say” and its Rowdy Rebel-featuring remix, which appeared on his new album SUNO MODE. Rah Swish struck gold with his Soulja Boy-sampling street hit Tell ‘Em,” while OnPointLikeOP collaborated with the likes of G Herbo, Sheff G, and Sleepy Hallow in recent months. DUSTY LOCANE recently dropped the ROLLIN N CONTROLLIN EP, which collected each installment of DUSTY’s GOLD-certified debut single, “ROLLIN N CONTROLLIN FREESTYLE,” including the recent “ROLLIN N CONTROLLIN Pt. 3 (BEEN ROLLIN)” and it’s TikTok-viral predecessor, as well as his second-ever single, “Rolando (Caught In The Rain)” (95 million Spotify streams), which receives a brand new sequel on the project.

With SAY DAT EP, look for the Five Borough foursome to continue their reign as the hottest rhymers in the Big Apple.

Lou Phelps Tells His Haters to Step Back in “Out My Face”

  • Press Release

Lou Phelps Tells His Haters to Step Back in “Out My Face”

    10.7.2022

Video: Lou Phelps – “Out My Face

The Rostrum-Signed Montreal Rapper Exudes An Effortless Cool in the Video for His KAYTRANADA-Produced New Song

    Critical Praise:

“His easy confidence helps him find a knocking pace that matches the hard-hitting drums undergirding the production” – Pitchfork

“Meet Lou Phelps, the Montreal Rapper Stepping Into His Own Light” – DJ BOOTH

“The single is hip-hop to its roots, with Phelps’ rapping providing the driving force” – Dancing Astronaut

    The Video:

Lou Phelps emerged from the hyper-creative Montreal rap scene with bottomless flexes and exquisite taste in beats. Turning in the latest in a long line of electric collaborations with his brother KAYTRANADA, Phelps shares Out My Face,” a new video single. KAYTRANADA slows down the tempo, layering airy vocal synths with insistent 808s and fluttering keyboard melodies. Lou rides with wave with precision, inserting himself into the beat’s negative space with whispered ad-libs and sharp boasts about his self-made status: “Spent a bag at LIV/That’s just how I live/Get it by myself, even Papa wasn’t here.”

The song arrives with a stylish video that captures a slice of Phelps’ life as a performer. Directed by Lou’s stalwart creative partner Igal Perets, who uses film grain and the fisheye lens to enhance the images, the “Out My Face” video combines clips of Lou in his element, whether he’s hanging with KAYTRANADA backstage or performing in front of sold out crowds, with more casual shots of the rapper chilling in his stylish home. The new clip inserts bits of unrehearsed dialogue that reveals more about Lou’s charmingly party-positive personality.

“Out My Face” is Lou’s first release since Touché, a vibrant new EP. A three-pack of futuristic fire, Touché features two songs produced by KAYTRANADA and the single Here We Go,” Lou’s first-ever self-produced single. Touché  EP is Lou’s first release with Rostrum Records, and is released in conjunction with Stand Up Guy Records, a new imprint founded by KAYTRANADA, of which Lou is partner. The follow-up to 2020’s Extra Extra project, and to “Sound Of Money,” Lou’s recent collaboration with MadlibTouché EP is a turning point for the young rapper as he looks to expand his empire from his MTL hometown to the rest of the world, Touché is available everywhere via Rostrum Records/Stand Up Guy Records.

    The Background:

A fixture in the bustling Montreal underground, Lou Phelps makes music that’s as easy to dance to as it is hard to classify. Lou started making music in 2011 with his older brother Kevin, aka the Polaris Prize-winning producer KAYTRANADA, forming a future-rap group called The Celestics. Using the moniker Louie P, Lou developed a reputation for creating tasteful and danceable electro rap. The artist earned a JUNO Award nomination for his 2017 debut project, 001 Experiments, and in 2018, made waves online with his project 002 / LOVE ME and its highlight track “Come Inside.” Since releasing his EXTRA EXTRA EP in 2020, home to the hit single “Must Be” (4.7+ million Spotify streams) Lou Phelps has been biding his time, waiting for the perfect time to strike with his most creatively fulfilling music yet. Now signed to Rostrum Records, Lou Phelps is ready to let the world know that no one can do it like he can.

Super Trap Bros. SNUPE BANDZ and PaperRoute Woo Live Large in “Straight Like That” Video

  • Press Release

Super Trap Bros. SNUPE BANDZ and PaperRoute Woo Live Large in “Straight Like That” Video

    10.6.2022

Video: SNUPE BANDZ & PaperRoute Woo – “Straight Like That

The Paper Route Empire Duo Share the Latest Video From Their Joint Project Boyz In The Hood, Coming October 14th via EMPIRE

    The Video:

Two Bluff City bruisers with complimentary rhyme styles and a shared ambition for cash, SNUPE BANDZ and PaperRoute Woo are the next Paper Route Empire duo to watch. Living it up in lavish luxury in their hometown of Memphis, SNUPE and Woo share Straight Like That,” their latest video. Combining thudding percussion and ominous bells, the new song is a sizzling slice of Tennessee trap. Each rapper takes turns talking about how they didn’t need rap to get rich, but now that they’re focused, they’re gonna take over the game: “Ran up the racks on the low, n****/Let me and gang through the do’, n****,” intones Woo, while SNUPE spits, “‘Fore I even made a song, I was road runnin’.”

In the video, Woo and SNUPE live large with their homies, including their PRE brother Big Moochie Grape, as they eat in Memphis’s finest dining establishments and make a pilgrimage to Jackson State University’s football stadium. Home to the new Young Dolph memorial tunnel, the two rappers pulled up to Jackson, MS, after the tunnel’s announcement to salute their late mentor and promise to make him proud. Following the recent clip for Dam Fool, “Straight Like That” is the latest glimpse of Boyz In The Hood, the upcoming joint mixtape from the two PRE upstarts.

Boyz In The Hood gets a lift from the two rappers’ percolating chemistry: Woo stacks flows and boastful bars with a booming and authoritative delivery, while SNUPE is effortlessly laid back, drawling rhymes about his luck with ladies and money-getting prowess. The latest salvo in an eventful year for Paper Route Empire as they honor Young Dolph, expect Boyz In The Hood to hit the streets on October 14th via Paper Route Empire.

SNUPE BANDZ and PaperRoute Woo have a long history of collaborations, dating back to 2020’s In My Bag” and continuing through last year’s Pop Out,” which drew 1.7 million YouTube views. Both SNUPE and Woo joined their mentor Young Dolph on Nothing To Me,” a standout single from last year’s PAPER ROUTE iLLUMINATi mixtape, generating over 7.8 million views, and they later took the stage in remembrance of their role model during a tribute set at Rolling Loud California.

Taylor Track Reveals, Sam Smith + Kim Petras, and More From Music on TikTok

    10.5.2022

TikTok Treats, Week of October 3rd

Kali Represents for TikTok on the BET Hip-Hop Awards Red Carpet, Taylor Reveals the Latest Midnights Track Titles, the Legendary Quincy Jones Joins TikTok, and Much More

    The News:

Each week, the TikTok Treats newsletter gives a snapshot of the state of music on TikTok, touching on trending hits, emerging artists, superstar moves, ascendant memes, and much more. Check out this week’s trends below:

    • The TikTok community continues to spot hit songs ahead of their release, rewarding artists who share snippets of new tracks on the platform. After previewing the track on TikTok in mid-August, British singer Sam Smith and Germany’s Kim Petras are receiving a boost from TikTok creators with their song, “Unholy.” Earning over 623.2K total creations since Smith and Petras gave TikTok creators a sneak peek in August, Smith’s emphatic hook soundtracks creators’ heatless hairstyle tutorials, transformations from Clark Kent to Casanova, and sassy struts down the runway. Sam Smith did their part to keep the song trending on TikTok, reacting to creators’ videos using the sound and sharing choreography from the official video released last week. Kim Petras also interacted with the song on her page, sharing footage of the duo’s iHeartRadio performance and duetting creators’ reactions to the song. Thanks to TikTok, “Unholy” earned a #1 spot on Billboard’s Global 200 charts and top 3 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart this week, becoming Petras’s first appearance on the Hot 100 and Smith’s first appearance on the Global 200.
    • Taylor Swift has captured the attention of her rabid community of fans on TikTok with her “Midnights Mayhem With Me” series, in which she reveals the tracklist of her upcoming album Midnights one track and one video at a time. Backed by elevator music (and occasionally her cat Meredith) and armed with a bingo-ball machine and rotary telephone, Taylor posts new videos in the wee hours of the morning, allowing her die hard fans to be the first to learn the names of her new songs (one is called “Maroon,” another intriguingly entitled “Anti-Hero”). Taylor’s teasing announcements have caused a frenzy of activity on #SwiftTok (10.1 billion views), as fans attempt to figure out what the song titles could mean, determine whether Taylor is delaying the reveal of track 5 (as Swifties understand, Track 5 is the most important track on any TS album), speculate about how Midnights fits into her overall discography, or even create theories about how Taylor’s career was changed by the pandemic. The bulk of this activity happens at #TSMidnights (229 million) views, a hub for speculation and discussion about Taylor’s new album.
    • TikTok is celebrating the impact of #HipHop and #RnBVibes on the platform during the first two weeks of October, and a music legend is startin’ somethin’ to kick it off: legendary producer, social activist, and pioneering Black music executive Quincy Jones has officially joined the platform! The icon shared his first video on the platform, offering words of wisdom as he highlights his accolades. “From bebop to doo-wop to #hiphop to TikTok…ya gotta go to know…so that’s what I’m doin’!” says Jones in the caption. “Lookin’ forward to sharing more with U here. Keep on keepin’ on!” In addition to sharing inspiring speeches, creators can look forward to unique video content and an overview of Jones’ peerless production catalog, including hits from Michael Jackson and Donna Summer.
    • An adventurous rapper signed to Playboi Carti’s Opium label, Atlanta’s Destroy Lonely has created an anthem for those who are effortlessly chic. His song “NO STYLIST” has been making waves on TikTok, to the tune of over 13.9k video creations. The song’s euphoric synths soundtrack “grwm” (get ready with me) montages, demonstrations of artful hoodie designs, or designing a fresh fit to go with cargo jeans. “NO STYLIST” has skyrocketed in popularity in the past week, after an enterprising TikTok creator mashed up Lonely’s vocals with “CRIMEWAVE,” the 2008 hit by Crystal Castles vs. Health. The mashup has over 318k video creations, soundtracking a simple dance trend that reached celebrities like Emily Ratajkowski and providing the backing track for text-on-screen videos about spontaneous decisions, the joys of living alone, and much more.
    • Over the past couple years, hip hop has reigned as the most popular genre on TikTok. TikTok’s presence was felt at the 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards as “MMM MMM” hitmaker and TikTok success story Kali represented as the host for TikTok on the red carpet. Kali interviewed hip hop legends like Lil Kim about what hip hop means to them and discussed the importance of female rap on the platform with TikTok favorites like Baby Tate and Lakeyah. Recent trending tracks and artists like Lizzo’s “About Damn Time,” Latto’s “Big Energy,” and GloRilla took home awards last night, underlining TikTok’s influence at the BET Hip Hop Awards.
    • Electropop group SM6 just wants to be happy for once and many creators on TikTok can relate. Their recent track “Let Me Be Happy” sparked a lighthearted, comedic trend in which creators reflect on a time when they felt like their life was going well right before unfortunate events began to happen. Garnering over 15.5K creations, the TikTok community is using the song to soundtrack their memories of having a great summer before remembering all their friends are about to leave for college, finally getting to play basketball again after surgery before getting stopped by knee pain, and enjoying a new, healthy romantic relationship before becoming overwhelmed by personal insecurities. SM6 is also participating in the trend on their own account, with one of the SM6 siblings revealing how they thought they found the perfect boyfriend before discovering his “icks” and all of the siblings having a standoff about the appropriate time of the fall to start playing Christmas music.

  • Press Release

Rot Ken Puts It On Ice in “Heartless” Video

    10.4.2022

    Video: Rot Ken – “Heartless

The Internet Money/Spaceboy Productions Artist Cuts Through an Urgent Instrumental with Ice-Cold Melodies on Latest Video Single

    Critical Praise:

“His most recent offering “007” is definitely going to have you bobbing your head and realizing why he’s beginning to gain some much-deserved traction with his music.” – Lyrical Lemonade

“Touting hard-hitting 808s and iridescent ad-libs, Ken’s passionate vocals are the star of the show, coming through with waves of self-reflective depth and power to overcome the adversity he faces.” – Our Generation Music

“Ken’s confident and diverse flows, impressive beat selection, volatile subject matter and continuously improving chemistry with producers like JetsonMade and Taz Taylor of Internet Money have continued to make his stock skyrocket.”Our Generation Music

    The Video:

With a freewheeling sense of melody to complement his organic appeal, Rot Ken has an arsenal of vocal and creative weapons at his disposal. Combatting the adversity he faces, both in the streets and in his mind, Ken shares his latest video single, “Heartless,” produced by KayKid Krono, and Clemsy. Though Ken bursts onto the track, initially scolding listeners who failed to heed the warnings of his cold-blooded demeanor, the strength of “Heartless” lies in Ken’s incremental self-reflectiveness as the track progresses. As Ken contemplates his mission to escape the drugs, guns, women, and reckless individuals that seek to destroy him, it’s clear that his heartlessness comes from the toll the world took on him: “I’m worried ‘bout me/I’m staying focused, gotta stay on my path/I go through things, I’m a human being.”

Though Ken has been away for much of 2022, his presence was still heavily felt. In May, the Internet Money/BoyMeetSpace artist shared Free Me, a 17-track project that showed his range, and demonstrated his singular ability to cut through immersive production with effervescent flows. The Augusta native’s project featured underground hits like “Baby Choppa” (1.6 million Spotify streams), “Heartbreak Kid” (1.7 million Spotify streams), and “Beautiful,” a collaboration with SoFaygo that racked up over 3.6 million Spotify streams. With additional appearances from Kalan.FrFrHunxho, and 21 Lil Harold, the 17-track Free Me project is available everywhere now.

Jay Fizzle Hosts a Paper Route Party in New “Won’t Cost Sh*t” Video

  • Press Release

Jay Fizzle Hosts a Paper Route Party in New “Won’t Cost Sh*t” Video

    10.3.2022

Video: Jay Fizzle -“Won’t Cost Sh*t

The Memphis Rapper Invites His Paper Route Empire Brethren to a Party in the Latest Video From DonaFizzo

    The Video:

Jay Fizzle floats above Tennessee trap instrumentals, delivering sturdy street stories with a fast-talking flow. Celebrating his success with his chosen family, the Paper Route Empire rapper shares the new video for Won’t Cost Sh*t.” Riding an atmospheric instrumental and toe-tagging the thudding percussion, Fizzle puts on a master class in flexing like only he can: “So much ice around my neck I coulda bought a ‘Rari/Plus I walk in with my strap, reach for my chain you get it poppin/Got all these racks they think I sold my soul to ‘luminati/They say ‘how he get so rich but he ain’t never went to college’?” In the video, Fizzle shows the world how he moves in Memphis, flashing his racks and his ice, sitting in the front trunk of his purple Tesla, and hosts a raucous party in the city, with guests like PRE brethren Key GlockPaperRoute Woo, and many others. “Won’t Cost Sh*t” is the latest clip from DonaFizzo, Fizzle’s latest album, following in the wake of the star-studded “Dust Town Livin” ft. Big Scarr & Big Moochie Grape.

Released last month, DonaFizzo finds Jay fitting his flow into unexpected pockets on each stellar instrumental–including beats from heavy-hitters like BandplayAyoza, and Sosa 808–with mutant-like machismo. With a style inspired by his own Master Splinter, Young Dolph, Fizzle’s desire to ascend from the gutter can be felt in every track. From the arcade villain-esque “Nike Check,” to the Mission: Impossible-esque bounce of “50 Freaky B*tches” ft. 21 Lil Harold, to the furiously flex-heavy “Nothing Into Something,” DonaFizzo hits harder than a bo-staff from start to finish.

With a knack for invention embodied in every flow he creates, it’s not hard to see why Jay Fizzle identifies so closely with his favorite purple Ninja Turtle, Donatello. Enlisting Big Scarr and fellow Paper Route Empire artist Big Moochie Grape as his fellow Memphis Mutants, Fizzle shares the new video for “Dust Town Livin” from his recent mixtape, DonaFizzo. The track finds Fizzle laying the groundwork for the trio’s pursuit of the paper, casting Scarr and Moochie as his Leonardo and Rafael with each artist’s unique talents combining to heighten the strength of the team.

DonaFizzo is the latest salvo in a busy year for Jay Fizzle and the rest of PRE. Fizzle kicked off the year with purpose, sharing “LLD,” a heartfelt tribute to his mentor Young Dolph. Adorned with lush harmonies and a star vocal turn from Ricco Barrino, “Long Live Dolph” finds Jay Fizzle baring his soul, the South Memphis native audibly emotional when he relays his gratitude to his mentor for teaching him everything he knows: “The way I talk, the way I walk, the way I act, the way I dress/The way I do my thing up in the booth, I learned it from the best.” With over 1.8 million views on YouTube, “LLD” is the opening track from Paper Route Empire Presents: Long Live Dolph, a compilation album from the independent label, which features appearances from nearly every artist on PRE, including Key GlockBig Moochie GrapeKenny Muney and more.

DCG Brothers Put on for Posterity in “Rich Baby Daddy”

    9.29.2022

Video: DCG Brothers – “Rich Baby Daddy

Chicago Drill’s Most Dynamic Duo Run Up a Check for the Children in New Video Single

    Critical Praise:

“Big things are happening on the West Side of Chicago…You can’t find [two] rappers having more fun right now.” – Pitchfork

“Chicago is and will be the home of drill forever. The DCG Brothers are among those carrying the torch into a new generation with their own pop-friendly twist. Each record, they continue to carve out their own lane in rap.”HotNewHipHop

“Just when it seemed like the drill scene in Chicago was coming to a bit of a standstill, the DCG Brothers came in and made an insane splash with their modern take on a sound that put this city on the map in a huge way.” – Lyrical Lemonade

“DCG Brothers Make Pop Drill for a New Generation” DJ Booth

“I could still get a taste of that old summertime feeling from the video for ‘Mmhmm,’ by teenage west-side rap duo DCG Brothers.”Chicago Reader

    The Video:

Coming straight out of Chicago, the DCG Brothers inject their hushed style of drill with an absurd sense of humor that sets them apart. The magnetic duo, comprised of DCG Shun & DCG Bsavv, celebrate their brotherhood and fatherhood in the hilarious new video single, “Rich Baby Daddy.” On the track, Shun and Bsavv outline the requirements to earn that titular claim, such as paying off bills, starting lash companies, and making sure your kids don’t have to split their Happy Meals.

The video for “Rich Baby Daddy” finds the duo flashing the fruits of their labor, rocking Chrome Hearts and Celine outfits as they boast their ability to spoil any baby mama worthy of the cause. Yet, the pair remain aware that as their evergreen bankroll grows, it draws more leeches out of the woodwork. Nevertheless, they remain generous with what they have because, as Shun knows well, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree: “My son bad as f***/He gon’ look up to his daddy.”

Earlier this year, the DCG Brothers shared Jungle Life, an accomplished, 14-track mixtape that established the duo as one of the most exciting acts in their hometown. Home to the hit single “Stomp,” featuring Chicago legend G Herbo (1.8 million YouTube views), Jungle Life takes a raw, unfiltered look at the group’s home neighborhood, while showcasing the percolating chemistry that helped them escape their circumstances. “Growing up in a real jungle around savage and seeing crazy things, basically meeting different types of people and associating them with animals,” say the DCG BROTHERS. “RATS, SNAKES, GORILLAS, & EVERYDAY IT’S A SURVIVAL IN THE JUNGLE.” Featuring additional appearances from BIG30B-Lovee, and frequent collaborator MsavvJungle Life is available everywhere via No More Heroes/Atlantic Records.

Though DCG Shun and DCG BSavv may seem like newcomers in the rap game, they’ve been perfecting their craft for years. Bsavv started rapping when he was 8-years-old–around the time of Chicago’s world-changing drill boom–inspiring his brother Shun to learn to spit and establishing a symbiotic artistic relationship that has lasted over a decade. Racking up YouTube videos by the million before Shun could legally drive, the duo became known around Chicago for their irrepressible personalities, drawing the attention of prolific music video collective No More Heroes, who paired their boisterous bars with eye-popping visuals to match. The duo earned acclaim from national media, including Pitchfork, with the hilarious “Mmhmm” ft. Msavv (3.4 million views), which deposited the three emcees on a golf course for eighteen holes of mayhem. DCG Brothers kept the momentum going in 2021 with “House Party,” produced by Internet Money, generating over 2.3 million views.

With much more music, and plenty more creative videos, on deck, and with the backing of No More Heroes and Atlantic Records, there’s no limit to how high DCG BROTHERS can rise.

Kenny Muney and Dreezy Catch Feelings in “Nobody” Video

  • Press Release

Kenny Muney and Dreezy Catch Feelings in “Nobody” Video

    9.29.2022

Video: Kenny Muney – “Nobody” ft. Dreezy

The Paper Route Empire Rapper Teams Up With the Chicago Chanteuse in a Romantic Video From His Time Is Muney Project

    Critical Praise:

“5 under-the-radar rappers from Memphis you should know about…Kenny Muney stands as the city’s rap emissary.” – The FADER

“Laced with familiar southern swagger and street tales, the new project solidifies Kenny has a viable name to keep an eye on as the new year creeps up.” – HotNewHipHop

“The South Memphis native has become a master at bodying the braggadocious current Memphis trap sound, while still finding endless ways to make his personal wit and charm stand out on every track.”Dirty Glove Bastard

    The Video:

With a fast-talking flow and a mischievous grin, Kenny Muney proudly carries the torch for Paper Route Empire. Exploring the euphoria that accompanies a new relationship, the Memphis rhymer teams up with Dreezy for “Nobody,” his new video. Produced by Ace Charisma, whose crisp guitar licks give the song a seductive swoon, “Nobody” is a romantic trap jam about an attraction so strong that it could make a player catch feelings: “Flying like a plane, you know she the co-pilot.” Dreezy provides the female perspective, matching Kenny’s melodic cadence and reveals how calculating she is about her romantic entanglements: “I’m bossy, but I’m independent/I’m bad to the bone but I’m good for his image.”

In the video, an iced-out Kenny Muney kicks back at a mansion in the hills, surrounded by models but only thinking about the object of his affections. Clad in all pink from her sunglasses to her shoes, Dreezy pulls up in an old school Cadillac, hell bent on proving that she’s worth obsessing over. At the end of the video, Kenny emerges from the mansion to steal Dreezy from directly under her man’s nose. “Nobody” is a highlight from Time Is Muney, the most recent mixtape by Kenny Muney.

Released in February, Time Is Muney is a project suited for headphones–the better to be mesmerized by Kenny’s hypnotic flows. The tape is home to recent singles like “Backend Freestyle,” a flex heavy track that allowed Muney to reintroduce himself to fans, both new and old, and “Worthless,” which received a tequila-fueled music video. Time Is Muney features guest appearances from Kenny’s PRE associates Big Moochie Grape and Key GlockTime Is Muney is available everywhere.

In the run up to Time Is Muney, the Paper Route Empire signee kept himself busy by releasing multiple singles, including “Lowkey,” “For Kenny,” “Long Time Coming,” and “Poppin It.” To kick off 2022, Kenny memorialized Dolph with “Role Model,” a touching tribute to Dolph which racked up over 1.7 million views on YouTube in its first two weeks, and appears on Time Is Muney, as well as the recent Paper Route Empire Presents: Long Live Dolph mixtape.

With Time Is Muney, Kenny Muney showed that he has the talent and determination to succeed in the Empire-building business. Stay tuned for more from Kenny Muney and Paper Route Empire.

A native of South Memphis, Kenny Muney grew up idolizing rappers like Lil Wayne, Gucci Mane, and Boosie. He started rapping at age 15, developing his aggressive aesthetic and honing his deeply rhythmic flow. Kenny got his first brush with fame when he released “YTN Freestyle,” which racked up over 2.5 million YouTube views, made him a neighborhood hero, and earned airplay on local radio. He made noise in 2019 with Muney Talk, his first mixtape for PRE. In 2020, Kenny Muney connected with his mentor Young Dolph for “No Regrets,” a highlight track from Dolph’s Rich Slave (Deluxe) album. “I’m never satisfied,” says Kenny Muney. “It’s a gift and a curse. Noodah05 Levels Up On His New Mixtape, w/ Appearances From Rylo Rodriguez, Hunxho & More

    9.30.2022

    Mixtape: Noodah05 – Level 5

The 4PF Rising Star Dwells On His Upbringing and Reveals His Money Motivations on His 13-Track Tape

    Critical Praise:

“While Noodah05 may not be a household name yet, he is proving his potential on a new single called ‘Wild Child”‘with Lil Baby.”HotNewHipHop

“Noodah05 is one of 4PF’s new exciting artists. The camp is led by Hip-hop MVP Lil Baby, so you know he is dope if Baby co-signed him.”Kazi

    The Mixtape:

Wielding his raw authenticity and facility with melody as his weapons of choice, Noodah05 is looking to shift public perception–he wants everyone to know that he’s one of the best in his city. Today, the Atlanta rapper shares Level 5, an accomplished new mixtape. Spanning 12 tracks and one bonus cut, Level 5 paints a detailed portrait of the FourPocketsFull rapper’s life on the streets, exploring his state of mind as he plots his takeover of the city’s busy rap scene. The new tape, Noodah’s 5th overall, continues his flourishing relationship with Chi Chi, who produced much of the tape, supplying instrumentals that are alternately triumphant and forlorn to match the rapper’s mood.

Mixtape highlight “Purest Form” examines Noodah’s life as a rising star and assures that he hasn’t reached his final stage yet, while “Ran Outta Options” provides a “sense of urgency” (in the rapper’s own words), giving a glimpse into the chaotic and desperate life of a hustler trying to escape his circumstances. Level 5 ends with two songs that center on Noodah’s family life, including  “Sorry Momma,” in which the 4PF artist apologizes for being a bad seed, and the Rylo Rodriguez-featuring Tameka,” an ode to Noodah’s supportive mother. The final bonus track, “Underrated,” makes clear that Noodah sees himself as elite and won’t stop until the rest of the world sees him the same way. Featuring additional guest appearances from Hunxho and VeezeLevel 5 is available everywhere via FourPocketsFull, Inc.

Along with the tape, Noodah05 shares the new music video for tape highlight 2 Step.” Built around a see-sawing synth riff, “2 Step” is a stern warning from Noodah to the opposition, presenting the rapper as a supernatural force to be reckoned with: “You can run from the bogeyman but when he comin he gon’ get ya/Shoulda joined a fraternity cause you know that we be steppin.” The song gets its power from Noodah’s liquid flow and the song’s chant-worthy, call-and-response chorus. Directed by Caleb Jermale, the video emphasizes the larger-than-life persona Noodah paints in his lyrics, using moody color tinting to convey a horror film atmosphere, with a flamethrower-wielding Noodah as the monster stalking his prey.

Level 5 continues Noodah’s ascension through his hometown’s busy rap scene. The fiery mixtape is the follow-up to last year’s Reborn, featuring appearances from VoryBankroll Freddie, and Noodah’s fellow 4PF signee Lil Kee, and 2020’s Merciless, home to Noodah’s Lil Baby-featuring breakout hit Wild Child.” With the versatility and skill on display in Level 5, Noodah hopes that he can progress from “underrated” to nationally-recognized.

“I want my sound to wake people up,” says Noodah05. “I just want to be heard. I’m progressing so much in my music and I can’t wait to see it pay off.”

After the release of Level 5, Noodah won’t have to wait much longer to become what he always knew he could be.

  • Press Release

Omar Apollo, The Throne, and More TikTok Trends to Watch This Week

    9.28.2022

TikTok Treats, Week of September 26th

Rainy Day Vibes, Surreptitious Hotel Encounters, Energetic Beat Drops, and Much More From the World of Music on TikTok

    The News:

Each week, the TikTok Treats newsletter gives a snapshot of the state of music on TikTok, touching on trending hits, emerging artists, superstar moves, ascendant memes, and much more. Check out this week’s trends below:

    • Rising singer-songwriter Montell Fish is a master of generating anticipation for his next move. Earlier this summer, the artist shared a mysterious snippet of a new song, featuring his falsetto vocals singing over distorted stabs of guitar. The snippet for the song, called “Hotel,” generated over 5 million views. Inspired by the passionate response, Montell made “Hotel” a staple of his live shows, where his fans enthusiastically sang along with the chorus–despite the fact that the song hadn’t yet seen an official release. Two months and over 170k total video creations later, “Hotel” dropped on all platforms in mid-September, and the pent-up anticipation fomented by Montell’s TikTok teases led to a massive streaming debut–it generated over 7 million streams in its first week. Two weeks later, “Hotel” crashed Spotify’s U.S. Top 50 chart, where it currently sits at #48, and made a #13 debut on Billboard’s Hot R&B Songs chart.
    • TikTok creators often bond with one another through shared experiences and similar music tastes. Singer Omar Apollo has the TikTok community in tune with their emotions with his ballad, “Evergreen (You Don’t Deserve Me At All).” Boasting over 303.8k total creations, the song inspires creators to share their relationship status using the text-on-screen feature. Using Apollo’s emphatic lyrics, “You know you really made me hate myself/Had to stop before I break myself,” creators share the sweet nothings they were told by an ex-lover, reveal their desire to give an ex a piece of their mind, and document their journey to healing after a breakup. The song also inspires creators to share their glow-up journeys, including gym and hair growth transformations. Omar Apollo participated in the trend on his TikTok, sharing a montage of his transformation from a teen to an adult. Thanks to a boost from TikTok, “Evergreen (You Don’t Deserve Me At All)” earned a top 20 spot on Spotify’s US Viral 50 chart and garnered him his first ever appearance on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart this week (#62).
    • The TikTok community often shows their love to their favorite musicians, actors, and influencers through fan edits. JAY-Z and Kanye West’s 2011 hit “No Church In The Wild” and its Frank Ocean-sung chorus has inspired a wave of fan-created video montages that help paint movies and TV shows in a new light.  Garnering over 10.6K+ creations, the song soundtracks fan edits from dystopian shows and movies such as Jordan Peele’s Get OutThe Hunger Games, and Squid Game. The trend and the song have inspired some commentary in the fan edit community, as creators share their reactions to certain edits and outline the difference between a good and bad edit.
    • The TikTok community continues to breathe new life into throwbacks while also introducing creators to songs they may not have heard before. This week, Nashville indie band WILLIS puts creators in the mood for rainy days and fun filters with their 2017 song, “I Think I Like When It Rains” (506.2K+ creations). The piano-heavy track inspired a lighthearted trend of creators attempting to make a heart collage using the heart photo booth filter. The song finds creators sharing videos of themselves enjoying a rainy day with their toddlers and furry friends, using WILLIS’ lyrics, “I think I like when it rains/You told me to go to the light/and what it’s like to feel your pain.” In other videos, the alternative ballad soundtracks presentations of their quinceañera dressesmontages of adventures with their friends, and videos of creators enjoying New York City’s sights.
    • ENRGY Beats is a mainstay in the Michigan rap scene, known for his wavy samples and hyperactive drum patterns. Thanks to a new trend about a song he produced, Rio Da Yung OG’s “Lean Chronicles,” he’s starting to become a mainstay on TikTok as well. The trend is inspired by the song’s beat drop, in which ENRGY’s “I got so much energy” producer tag heralds a transition from ethereal vocals to heavy-hitting drums. The trend is ideal for those with a pep in their step, like the school marching band who plays on even when the team is losing, or athletes who can’t wait until the season starts, or folks who can’t go to sleep after an ill-timed nap. One creator used the sound to give props to ENRGY for his creative use of a sample from the film Coraline. Providing a boost to Rio Da Yung OG while he waits out a stay in prison, “Lean Chronicles” has over 130k video creations to date, which have helped the 2021 song eclipse the 2 million streams mark on Spotify.
    • Fujii Kaze is a superstar in his home country of Japan, but TikTok is helping him find a global audience. Already beloved by his legion of fans, the J-Pop star’s shimmering “Shinunoga E-Wa” and its catchy chorus melody is catching on in the broader community, generating over 178.5 video creations to date. The song is a popular soundtrack to Anime fan edits, and accompanied one creator’s mission to style her hair like her favorite anime character. Other creators post piano tutorials to help their fellow fans learn to play the song, or post their own covers on Chakhe or guitar. The TikTok success of “Shinunoga E-Wa” led to a breakthrough in the U.S.–it currently sits at #3 on the Spotify U.S. Viral 50 chart.

    THE RECAP:

Rolling Loud New York 2022 packed in dozens of performances over three action-packed days, bringing rap superstars, respected OGs, and the hottest rising stars to Citi Field in Queens for an unforgettable weekend. Though Sunday night ended early due to inclement weather, Sunday was another banner day for the World’s Largest Rap Festival. Before the skies opened, Future performed hits like “Stick Talk” and “New Level,” and brought out Offset as a special guest. He was in good spirits as the RL NY guests calmly evacuated the premises.

Earlier in the day, scattered showers gave way to spectacular golden era sun, bathing the festival grounds in a gorgeous glow. Among the day’s best performances were Fat Joe, who played the crowd like a maestro, paying tribute to fallen heroes Biggie Smalls, 2Pac, and Big Pun before bringing on Remy Ma and performing Terror Squad hits. Curren$y played with a full band, saluting Mac Miller and Young Dolph and performing his Jet Life jams. The fest brought an intriguing mix of young talent like TiaCorine and JELEEL! and mainstays like Boldy James, accompanied by The Alchemist as his DJ.

Rolling Loud New York 2022 closed out a dominant year the world’s premier rap festival brand. Founded by Matt Zingler and Tariq Cherif, Rolling Loud continues to deliver the most exciting live experiences in rap, with no plans to stop innovating anytime soon. Check back in 2023 for a return to L.A., a debut in Thailand, and the eighth Rolling Loud Miami.

“Rolling Loud has become the biggest hip-hop festival in the country” – Variety

“From niche hip-hop festival to must-play event for some of the biggest stars in music.” – Pollstar

“Until Elon Musk involuntarily envelops society into a physical cloud universe, Rolling Loud will be the closest experience to actually living inside your streaming app.” – Complex

“Rolling Loud’s annual New York edition is always something special, but this year’s Halloween-weekend extravaganza (not to mention the first post-pandemic) brought seriously spectacular energy to Queens’ Citi Field.” – Highsnobiety

“Rolling Loud is a lifestyle brand. They are more than just the shows. They have built a community with their consumers and are building new channels to maintain continuity” – Forbes

“In four and a half years — beginning small in Miami, and now promoting Coachella-sized events around the country — Rolling Loud has established itself as a playground for the young…This time last year, many of the rappers now drawing crowds of several thousand were barely known.” – The New York Times

    The Background:

Founded by 5-time Billboard Hip-Hop Power Players Matt Zingler & Tariq Cherif as a one-day Miami show, Rolling Loud has grown into a global festival phenomenon, putting on shows on both coasts and in multiple countries. Rolling Loud is the premier festival brand in hip-hop, known for its expert curation of wide-ranging lineups that reflect the state of the genre.

The festival returned from a 18-month hiatus with the sold out Rolling Loud Miami 2021, bringing in over 85,000 fans per day to Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, FL. With headliners like Post Malone and A$AP Rocky, Rolling Loud Miami 2021 was a triumphant return for live rap music, and a coming out party for risers and new superstars eager to play in front of a festival crowd. Rolling Loud hosts its biggest event to date with Miami 2022 in July, headlined by Kid Cudi, Kendrick Lamar, and Future, before returning to NY and debuting in Toronto in September 2022.
