Smokepurpp Prepares for a Big 2023 with 3-Song ‘Anti’ Capsule

  • Press Release

Smokepurpp Prepares for a Big 2023 with 3-Song ‘Anti’ Capsule

    2.7.2023

Smokepurpp Shares the Defiant, Hard-Hitting Anti, a 3-Song “Capsule,” to Kick Off 2023

The South Florida Star Prepares for a Big Year, Sharing a Bite-Sized Collection with Production from Supah Mario, Gesco, and More

    Critical Praise:

    XXL Class of 2018 Freshman

“Purpp has caught the ears of everyone from The Weeknd and D.R.A.M. to Chief Keef and Travis Scott, and the 19-year-old rapper is in position for a rapid ascent” – Pigeons & Planes

“If you’ve not been following along, the rise of young Miami rapper SmokePurrp – alongside that of his longtime pal and collaborator Lil Pump – has been one of the more exciting rides in rap’s underground this year” – Noisey

“Out of all the SoundCloud and Florida rappers that have gained floods of attention and acclaim in recent years, Smokepurpp has stood as one of the movement’s strongest proponents and artists. –HYPEBEAST

    The Capsule:

Smokepurpp surged out of South Florida with a penchant for firing up fans with quick-hitting, head-banging singles. Collecting three adventurous new bangers into a three-song “capsule,” Purpp shares Anti, his first new release of 2023. Anti debuts a new experimental format for Purpp, where he can follow his iconoclastic muse in short-form bursts. Capsule opening track “Draco” offers sirenic synths and subsonic bass for Purpp to dance over with his clipped cadences. “Chop Off The Top” fully embraces the euphoric “rage” sound, as Purpp skates atop Supah Mario‘s carnival-esque synths with easygoing melodies. Purpp turns up the intensity on final track “Out My Body,” snarling over DSC Sunny & Bido production with hedonistic fervor.

The new Anti capsule is a high-energy follow-up to Shoot First,” released in November. “Shoot First” was Purpp’s first new single as a lead artist since 2021’s “Not Your Speed” ft. Lil Gnar, but he has kept busy in the meantime collaborating with the likes of Masked WolfRarri, and Mike Stone. Purpp is hard at work on more “capsules” and a new project, his first since Psycho (Legally Insane) EP and his first full-length since the ferocious 2020 mixtape Florida Jit.

Stay tuned from much more from the iconoclastic artist as the year moves on, including a performance at the inaugural Rolling Loud Thailand in April.

    Listen to Antihttp://Smokepurpp.lnk.to/Anti

    Anti tracklist:

    1. Draco (Prod. by Gesco & Klokez)
    2. Chop Off The Top (Prod. by Supah Mario)
    3. Out My Body (Prod. by DSC Sunny & Bido)

Please contact Michelle or Kerry for more info.

    The Background:

The Chicago-born, Miami-raised rapper and producer Smokepurpp has been one of the cornerstones of Florida’s burgeoning rap scene since the release of his “Ski Mask” video in 2015. The buzz from the video and other singles with close friend Lil Pump culminated in a record deal with Alamo/Interscope Records and Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack Records. The 21-year old Purpp quickly went to work, collaborating with Scott, Yo Gotti, Pump, and more. His debut release, Deadstar, spawned the gold-certified single “Audi” and generated features from The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Pigeons & Planes, XXL, Mass Appeal, and many more. The follow up release, Bless Yo Trap, was a collaboration with Grammy-nominated producer Murda Beatz, boasted the standout single “123” and collaborations with Lil YachtyOffset, and A$AP Ferg. 2018 has been a banner year for Purpp so far, thanks to his selection on the 2018 XXL Freshman list, the release of “Nephew,” his Gold-certified collaboration with Lil Pump, which has over 100M streams across all platforms, and “I Love It,” the Kanye West and Pump collaboration which Purpp co-wrote and debuted at number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100. After delighting his fans with the Lost Planet EP in April, Purpp closed 2020 out with the highly-anticipated Deadstar 2. In 2020, Purpp released his project Florida Jit, with appearances from Lil Pump, Denzel Curry, and more.

TikTok Congratulates Lizzo, Sam & Kim, Muni Long, and All 2023 GRAMMY Winners

  • Press Release

TikTok Congratulates Lizzo, Sam & Kim, Muni Long, and All 2023 GRAMMY Winners

    2.6.2023

TikTok Congratulates Lizzo, Sam & Kim, Muni Long, Steve Lacy, and All 2023 GRAMMY Winners

    The Announcement:

The GRAMMY Awards are music’s biggest night, an opportunity for fans across the globe to honor and celebrate the best and brightest in music today. Last night’s ceremony was also a big night for TikTok, as so many of the community’s favorite artists joined the hallowed ranks of GRAMMY winners!

One of the night’s big winners was Lizzo, the self-proclaimed “Queen of TikTok,” who took home Record Of The Year for her megahit “About Damn Time” (over 4.1M video creations). The magnetic superstar provided some of the show’s best moments, with her gospel-inflected performance of “Special” and her empowering acceptance speech that preached the positivity and authenticity that makes her a TikTok community favorite.

Sam Smith and Kim Petras brought down the house with their devilish performance of “Unholy” (2.5M+ creations). First shared as a snippet on TikTok before becoming the first Billboard #1 Hot 100 hit in either artist’s career, “Unholy” earned the dynamic duo the GRAMMY for Best Pop Duo or Group Performance.

Breakout star Steve Lacy also took the stage, making the ceremony 100% groovier with a performance of his TikTok-fueled smash “Bad Habit” (702k creations). Aided in his performance by “Them Changes” (1.1M+ creations) virtuoso Thundercat, Lacy won his first career GRAMMY award last night, getting top honors in the Best Progressive R&B Album category for his excellent Gemini Rights.

#Beyhive queen Beyonce rewrote the record books last night with her four GRAMMY wins, becoming the most-decorated person in the 65-year history of the award. Her Best Dance/Electronic Album winner RENAISSANCE took the community by storm last summer, bringing trending hits “BREAK MY SOUL” (200k+ creations) and “CUFF IT” (2.8M+ creations), not to mention the Best Traditional R&B Performance winner “Plastic Off The Sofa,” which inspired creators to flex their vocal muscles with the #PlasticOffTheSofaChallenge.

Album of the Year went to TikTok fan favorite Harry Styles, for his colorful 2022 full-length Harry’s House. The album produced multiple trending hits that were inescapable for much of the year, most notably “As It Was” (4M+ creations), “Music For A Sushi Restaurant” (525k+ creations), and “Satellite” (110k+ creations).

Last summer’s other big blockbuster album, Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti, won the competitive award for Best Musica Urbana Album. El Conejo kicked off the awards with a lively medley that paid tribute to the rich musical history of the Caribbean. Un Verano Sin Ti had the TikTok community in its grip with multiple songs going viral including: “Me Porto Bonito” (2.5M+ creations), “Tití Me Preguntó” (1.5M creations), “Taro” (1.1M creations), “Ojitos Lindos” (639K+ creations), and “Efecto” (602K+ creations)

The stars shone brightly during the 65th Annual GRAMMY Awards, which was also a massive night for rising artists who used TikTok to help kickstart their careers. Best New Artist winner Samara Joy might seem like an underdog, but she’s very familiar to the TikTok community–she cultivated a loyal following of over 220k with her exquisite vocals and delicate jazz songs.

R&B singer Muni Long won Best R&B Performance for her hit “Hrs and Hrs” (1.7M+ creatons), which was released through SoundOn, TikTok’s all-in-one music distribution platform, and first gained traction on TikTok. Meanwhile, red hot Isle of Man rock band Wet Leg (541k followers) won Best Alternative Album for their debut and Best Alternative Performance for the trending hit “Chaise Longue.”

TikTok congratulates these incredible artists, and all the other GRAMMY Award winners, who inspire creativity and spark joy every day.

Sharc Goes on the Attack in “1 of 1” Video

  • Press Release

Sharc Goes on the Attack in “1 of 1” Video

    2.6.2023

Video: Sharc – “1 of 1” (Prod. by Pi’erre Bourne)

The GOLD-Certified SossHouse Rapper Cuts Through a Pi’erre Bourne Beat like an Apex Predator in New Video Single

    Critical Praise:

“Energetic, rowdy, and outright enthralling, Sharc’s off-the-wall deliveries and quotable lyrics make him an easily-identifiable act in a world filled with look-alikes.”Lyrical Lemonade

“Sharc adds his tenacious flair to these tracks, as the production helps to prove his versatility.”  Our Generation Music

    The Video:

With his sharp wordplay and a flow that cuts through any instrumental, Sharc raps like he smells blood in the water. Reconnecting with his SossHouse head honcho Pi’erre Bourne, who provides the track’s bouncy piano production, Sharc shares his new video single, “1 of 1.” The track finds the Queens native delivering flex after flex, skating over the piano plinks with clever wordplay: “She spilling rosé in the Audi/Dirty bird, you can say it’s a Falcon.”

The video for “1 of 1,” directed by CASEUNO, was shot during the North American leg of Pi’erre Bourne’s “Good Movie World Tour,” for which Sharc provided support. Opening with a distorted clip of a woman warning of an attack, the video finds Sharc completely locked in as he eats up the beat like predators in a feeding frenzy, with vintage horror film sequences of shark attacks interspersed throughout.

Signed to Pi’erre Bourne’s SossHouse imprint, Sharc made an impact with his 2021 full-length debut, 47 Meters Down, entirely produced by Pi’erre. “Drunk N Nasty,” a collaboration between Sharc and Pi’erre Bourne from the latter’s 2021 album The Life of Pi’erre 5, recently earned a GOLD certification from the RIAA. In 2023, Sharc looks to make even bigger waves with his sharp flows and quick wit. Stay tuned for much more to come from the Queens native as he keeps on swimming.

Harlem’s Antha Pantha Doesn’t Play with Punks in “BWA” Video

  • Press Release

Harlem’s Antha Pantha Doesn’t Play with Punks in “BWA” Video

    2.3.2023

    Video: Antha Pantha -“B.W.A.

Harlem’s Hardest-Hitting Newcomer Brings the West Coast to West Harlem in a Cinematic and Pugilistic New Video

    The Video:

A rising rhymer with the nimble ferocity of a feral feline, Harlem’s Antha Pantha is quickly making her mark on her hometown rap scene. Sending a clear word of warning to trifling haters, Antha drops “BWA,” a brand new video single. A PRODUCER-produced banger that combines a bouncy bassline and crisp handclaps, “BWA” (short for “b*tches with attitude”) providesthe perfect trampoline for Antha to launch into her technical, take no prisoners bars: “I ain’t from the West Coast, but I’m from the West Side/But I got me a n**** on the East Side/I don’t pre-record nohtin’, man, I do my sh*t live/Play around with me and you gon’ get the B-side.”

“BWA” arrives with a cinematic new video, directed by Renell Medrano. Set on Harlem’s West Side, the video finds Antha and her crew taking care of business, crossing town to confront, and shut down, a group of haters. The kinetic new clip follows up “Real B*tches,” Antha’s thrilling debut single, which arrived with a video featuring a cameo from A$AP Ferg.

“I wrote this song because ‘women with attitudes’ is typically looked at as a bad thing, and I want the girls that hear this to embrace their feminine attitude unapologetically,” says Antha Pantha. “Attitude should represent confidence and swag, not just a stank face.”

Obsessed with music, theater, and dance since she was a child, Antha Pantha made waves in Harlem with her outsized personality and undeniable talent. The Background:

Anthonè Fowler, aka “Antha Pantha,” hails from Harlem, New York, growing up in a small neighborhood called “Scrilla Hill.” Antha fell in love with music, dance, and theater as a child citing Disney and Michael Jackson as early influences, and by the time she attended Harbor Science and Arts Charter School, Hip Hop and R&B became her new language. Her first taste of the music business came in 2019 when her childhood friend A$AP Ferg caught wind of her buzz around the neighborhood. Impressed with her lyrical prowess and animated delivery, Ferg instantly signed her to his newly established independent record label, Sewer Sounds. With her new single “Real B*tches,” and much more music on the way, Antha Pantha is more than ready to be NYC’s next big thing. She’s been creating art her whole life, molding her unique experiences into infectiously raw rap records that she’s ready to share with the world.

Wale The Sage Looks to Freeze Time With His Debut Album

    2.3.2023

Album: Wale The Sage – Running From Time

Home to His Viral Hit “Bleue,” the Atlanta-via-Nigeria Artist’s First-Ever Full-Length Album Expressively Probes the Nature of Love, Family, Death, and More Over 9 Smooth and Thoughtful Tracks

The New Album Arrives With “Don’t Remind Me,” An Inventive Video Directed by Wale The Sage Himself

    Critical Praise:

“More than just an impressive feat of musical dexterity, ‘Stoves’ is full of vulnerable, relatable lyrics that resonate on a personal and universal level.”OnesToWatch

    The Album & Video:

Wale The Sage uses his incisive pen and nimble flow to make impressionistic and expressive rap songs about his immigrant story. Seeking a moment’s peace in his eternal struggle to answer life’s impossible questions, the Atlanta rapper shares Running From Time, his new album. His first-ever full-length after a series of well-received singles, Running From Time explores the beauty and chaos of life, and how the two aspects are inextricable from one another. Though it delves into heavy subjects, Running From Time is grounded by Wale’s relatable anecdotes and palpable dedication to improving the lives of his family.

The 24-year-old artist crafts an immersive soundscape with the help of producers like Versus Beatzpk beatz, NayZ, and NXMERCY. The pensive, yet propulsive “Stuck In The Middle” finds Wale gliding along atop atmospheric organ blasts and a dancefloor-friendly percussion, while the haunting “Everybody Dies” hits hard with the rapper’s clipped cadences atop creaking violins, and the soul-baring “Men Don’t Cry” sparkles like a city at twilight. Home to Wale’s breakout single “Bleue,” which has over 19 million streams on Spotify to date, and the previously released “2.22” (1.4 million streams), Running From Time is available everywhere via Pick Six Records.

Along with the new album, Wale The Sage shares the new video for Don’t Remind Me,” a highlight from the album. Produced by docent and pk beatz, “Don’t Remind Me” is a laid back and emotional song that takes advantage of Wale’s skill with easy melody and cathartic confession. Over an expansive soundscape that recalls the widescreen soul music of the early ’70s, Wale laments the inevitable passage of time, impatiently waiting for his chance to show the world what he can do: “How many nights till we living out dreams/Been a minute it seems/Couple years when I blink/How many words till the moment is real,” he intones. Directed by Wale himself and shot by Chris Ingram of N | A Productions, the video for “Don’t Remind Me” is as inventive as Wale’s wordplay, incorporating animated interludes, black-and-white photography, and unconventional framing to help Wale tell his story.

Born and raised in Nigeria, Wale became the first member of his family to come to America when he left for college at Western Kentucky University. Wale’s life changed forever when he turned 19 and his mom fell ill, causing financial circumstances that forced Wale to drop out of college. During this time of crisis, music was Wale’s avenue of comfort and creative expression. He moved to Atlanta to pursue his dream and released his first song in 2019, “Family Ties,” which candidly discussed growing up without a father and other family issues. After “Family Ties” set the tone, Wale dropped a series of increasingly dexterous, and increasingly popular, singles over the next year, including 2020’s “This Thing Called Life” and 2021’s “Do You Love You,” which surpassed 2 million streams on Spotify. Wale had his biggest moment yet with “Bleue,” a soulful slapper that caught fire on TikTok.

Now signed to Pick Six Records, Wale The Sage plans to follow his muse to the top of the rap game. With a book full of bars, a bottomless arsenal of flows, and his debut album in the books, don’t be surprised if the sagacious spitter reshapes the rap game in his own image.

    The Background:

“I’m a big believer in ‘slowly but surely.’ I’m trying to build something genuine,” declares 23-year-old artist Wale the Sage. After achieving over 20 million streams from singles and viral success through TikTok and Shazam on his own, the Nigerian-born lyricist signed with Morray’s Pick Six Records. “It’s always about putting out good music. I want to put in the work. At the end of all of this, I want to feel like I made it.” Songs like 2021’s “Bleue” and “Do You Love You ?” presented a courageous artist with introspective songwriting and an exploratory sound. “I don’t want to put myself into a box. I want to make music of any genre; I just want to have fun making it.” In 2022, Wale the Sage will step forth with a debut project that takes his growing fanbase on a journey that showcases versatility and wisdom beyond his years.
