Flooding the pocket with tireless intensity and a natural gift for disruption, Kenzo Balla approaches his music with a motive for mayhem. Today, the Bronx bruiser shares Mr. Ready to Blitz (Deluxe), adding five new tracks to the expansive effort, featuring production from Frank Beats, iamTash, and more, as well as an appearance from 41 crew standout Kyle Richh on the deluxe’s video single, “PSA.”

On the deluxe version of Mr. Ready to Blitz, first released in November, Kenzo furthers the scope of his sound. Kicking off with his signature full-throated shout on the opening track, “Losing Control Pt. 2,” Kenzo rides the pitched up vocal melodies of Frank Beats’ production as he vents his fears and frustrations with a hardened perspective. The Background:

Kenzo Balla evokes both the ecstasy and the peril of New York street rap. The Bronx artist serves up chilly bars over hammering drill beats for stylish, yet raw anthems that are drawing the attention of the world by the day. Teaming with frequent collaborators TG Crippy (his brother) and Jay Da Chaser, he blends those elements on tracks like “OOTAZ,” which drips with adrenaline and confrontation. While the track and others like it evoke unsettling force, they’ve also become the soundtrack of functions across the East Coast, and Kenzo wouldn’t have it any other way. Growing up in the BX, everyone knew each other and attended the same parties, but as he became a teenager, the drama escalated. Kenzo realized he’d have to change his lifestyle to survive. He’d spent much of his early years freestyling with friends, so he decided to record his first songs in 2018. After catching attention with melodic tracks like “Backends,” each new release earned more streams than the last. Today, Young Dolph’s estate and his label Paper Route Empire present Paper Route Frank, a posthumous album from the proud Memphis native. Completed and conceptualized by the Memphis legend before his passing, Paper Route Frank portrays Dolph as a don surveying his territory, pleased with his accomplishments and determined to make space for the next generation to continue the work he started. Central Cee has reached a truly poignant moment in his career, with high anticipation around his every move. TikTok continued to be the dominant force in music and culture in 2022, at once creating a new monoculture with its inescapable trends and remaining a hub where eccentric memes and niche communities thrive.

The revolutionary platform continued to be the top source for runaway hits, with 10 of this year’s #1 Billboard Hot 100 hits experiencing trending moments on TikTok. Jack Harlow earned a number one debut–his first solo #1 hit–after a snippet of “First Class” took off on TikTok, and the platform helped Steve Lacy’s “Bad Habit” grow from cult concern to ubiquitous smash. In the early part of the year, TikTok fueled America’s obsession with the soundtrack to Encanto, helping “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” become the first number one hit from an animated Disney film in three decades.

Though it continued to jumpstart smash hits and birth new stars, 2022 welcomed phenomena that only could’ve arisen on TikTok. TikTok helped usher soundtrack songs and catalog songs to the charts at unprecedented rates, its focus on music inspiring fans to use songs from their favorite TV shows or movies when they made content related to those media. As conversation around a certain property grew, so did the song prominently used in that property–the major example was Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill,” used in Stranger Things, but other songs like Nirvana’s “Something In The Way” and Metallica’s “Master Of Puppets” benefitted from the phenomenon as well.

Beyond the chart-topping hits, TikTok remained the number one destination for emerging artists to kickstart their careers. Female rappers like Ice Spice, GloRilla, and Dreya Mac greatly expanded their audiences on TikTok, while offbeat artists like Lawsy and Hemlocke Springs earned attention. TikTok took their developmental powers to a new level with SoundOn, TikTok’s all-in-one platform for music creators, helping artists like Muni Long, Russ, and even Dolly Parton release music, while artists like Nicky Youre and Katherine Li used SoundOn as a springboard to major label deals.

After another massive year, TikTok’s influence shows no signs of abating. From “Jiggle Jiggle” to “Sunroof” to Recess Therapy, one thing is clear: TikTok has the juice to make hits and launch careers in music and beyond.

Rolling Loud co-founders Matt Zingler and Tariq Cherif elevated Rolling Loud from a single-day Miami event to the World’s Biggest Rap Festival. Now, seven years after its founding, Rolling Loud is a truly global operation, bringing the biggest and best in hip-hop today to multiple continents. 2022 was a year of international expansion, as Rolling Loud hosted the first-ever Rolling Loud Portugal on the beaches of Portimão, and headed to the woods of the Netherlands for Rolling Loud x Woo Hah! Fest, its first-ever camping festival. In September, Rolling Loud debuted its first Canadian festival, Rolling Loud Toronto, located in the picturesque Ontario Place in the heart of Canada’s largest city.

Rolling Loud has conquered the festival game, but 2022 saw the company make moves towards domination in other fields, as well. Rolling Loud announced LoudPunx, its first NFT Program with unprecedented utility, continued to innovate in the festival merch and fashion space, and just last week, Rolling Loud announced its first-ever Rolling Loud album with a single featuring Rae Sremmurd and Duke Deuce.

The company is preparing to open it up with a truly massive 2023, with brand new festivals in Thailand and Germany, hosting the first ever music festival at Hollywood Park, adjacent to SoFi Stadium, in L.A., and of course, returning for the eighth Rolling Loud Miami.

AFROPUNK leads the vanguard of Black music and culture, curating one-of-a-kind events that shine a light on overlooked aspects of the Black experience. AFROPUNK festivals by a curatorial spirit dedicated to bringing the fashion, food, and music of the diaspora to the masses, and a one-of-a-kind vibe that springs from the sense of comfort event attendees feel in their ability to be their true, unapologetic selves.

In 2022, the culture-shifting brand expanded its imprint, hosting the first-ever live Planet AFROPUNK experiences in Miami and Minneapolis, but the crowning achievement for AFROPUNK was its long-awaited return to Brooklyn. Headlined by Burna Boy and The Roots, and featuring a deep lineup including Tierra Whack, Lucky Daye, Earl Sweatshirt, and more, AFROPUNK Brooklyn 2022 was a glorious homecoming for the brand, as fans streamed into Commodore Barry Park dressed to impress and ready for a one-of-a-kind experience. Each AFROPUNK event is accompanied by a series of initiatives and Solution Sessions designed to benefit the community and educate festival-goers and community members alike.

Music is merely one focus of the AFROPUNK brand. In 2022, AFROPUNK launched the Black Fashion Accelerator, in partnership with Shopify, offering Black fashion entrepreneurs an intensive six-month program with a top tier curriculum that allowed them the opportunity to bloom as artists and build successful, sustainable, and profitable businesses. The BFA culminated in a fashion show in SoHo, showcasing the works of the program’s eleven founders in a stunning display.

AFROPUNK has no plans of slowing down in 2023–it caps off Black History Month with Black HERSTORY Live, its first-ever showcase at the world-renowned Lincoln Center For The Performing Arts.

Baja Beach Fest / Sueños

As Latin music and reggaeton continues to make inroads into the American market, the producers behind Baja Beach Fest are not far behind. In 2022, festival founders Chris Den Uijl and Aaron Ampudia teamed up with C3 Productions to create Sueños Festival in Chicago, the largest reggaeton and Latin music festival ever to take place in the city’s historic Grant Park.

Headlined by J Balvin and Ozuna, the inaugural festival was a smashing success, curating an irrepressibly positive vibe and providing a celebratory moment for Chicago’s sizable Latin American population. Beyond the headliners, the festival welcomed stars like Wisin & Yandel and Farruko to rock the crowd.

While they expanded into new markets, Baja Beach Fest bolstered their annual flagship event even further, putting on two weekends worth of performances by the biggest stars in Latin music today. Highlighted by Daddy Yankee’s only festival performance of the year, the fourth Baja Beach Fest also welcomed headliners like Maluma and Anuel AA, while taking special steps to showcase regional Mexican music with artists like Banda MS and Natanael Cano holding it down for the home country.

Key Glock‘s flexes have always served a higher purpose than mere braggadocio. Wrestling with his past and present sins in his latest video single, the Paper Route Empire stunna shares “Forgive Me.“ Produced by Memphis hitmaker Hitkidd, who layers carol-like bells and children’s choirs atop the booming bass and 808s of his hometown’s trap music, “Forgive Me” is Key Glock’s devotional prayer to the grind, dripping with insights into street living and testaments to Glock’s chosen one status: “I walk by fate, yeah, with my pipe/I smoke with demons every night/I wake up, gamble with my life.” In the video, Glock takes ’em to church, donning a nun’s habit as he preaches to his congregation and stunts in front of stained glass.

“Forgive Me” is a highlight from PRE5L, Glock’s new EP, released on #DolphDay in November. Baile Funk is having a major moment on TikTok this week, led by “Tubarão Te Amo,” a danceable banger by DJ LK da Escócia & Tchakabum & MC Ryan SP. The song is at the center of a “Dance Battle” trend, in which creators at home, at graduation, or at The Louvre, hit an aggressive, arm-swinging dance. “Tubarão Te Amo” kicked into extra gear with the start of the World Cup, with fans using the dance to celebrate goals and wins by their favorite teams. Just last week, Brazil’s national soccer team celebrated a goal as a group by hitting the “Tubarão” dance during their World Cup victory over Switzerland. The dance has propelled “Tubarão Te Amo” to major streaming success–the song has over 41 million streams on Spotify alone, and recently reached #2 on the service’s U.S. Viral 50 chart.

Legendary rapper Lil Wayne just scored his first Diamond-selling single, with over 10 million units sold. His 2008 #1 hit single “Lollipop” crossed the threshold just this week, and in a recent video, the artist gave partial credit to TikTok’s “Lollipop” Challenge for helping push the song over the finish line. With over 595k video creations on TikTok, it’s clear that the sugary rap song will remain a part of the cultural lexicon for years to come.

Young Dolph’s boisterous lyricism helped him build a Paper Route Empire and change the face of hip-hop. On the newly-released song “Old Ways,” released today by Dolph’s estate and PRE, the artist displays the commanding delivery and precise punchlines that made him an icon. Steamrolling a sparkling beat from his frequent collaborator BandPlay, using a sample from “Darlin Darlin Baby” by The O’Jays, Dolph emphatically proves that the money he’s made didn’t change his dedication to the hustle or his taste in music: “She think that I’m still stuck in my old ways/God damn I love the trap, I miss the old days/Ride around in the Bonneville with my throwaway/Now I make millions, I might just listen to the O’Jays.” Effortlessly quotable and impossibly hard, “Old Ways” is a sterling addition to Dolph’s formidable discography.

Rising rapper My Favorite Color turns heads with offbeat flows and cleverly constructed punchlines. Teaming up with a fellow flowsmith for a woozy and dreamy new anthem, My Favorite Color shares “Man Man,” and its new animated music video. Navigating a seasick, synth-heavy instrumental from Cam Raleigh, the new song finds My Favorite Color trading verses with Valee, a kindred spirit of MFC’s who also specializes in attacking beats from odd angles. The Rostrum Records signee takes the first turn on the mic, purposefully pushing the envelope with outrageous lyrics, dipping into Valee’s famous “Two 16s” flow as he rhymes: “This b*tch knows she’s perfect, but I treat her like a 8/N**** want some smoke, then Ima treat him like an eighth/All this ice like figure 8’s/My white bitch look like Sharon Tate.” Valee parachutes in with a halting cadence, his whispery flow blending perfectly with the pillowy atmosphere: “Pouring up lean on a plane I’m flying for real/I’m flying in a hellcat like it’s a Bonneville.”

“Man Man” arrives along with an inventive animated video, directed by Austin Linkinhoker, whose quirky and psychedelic vision suits the music to a tee. The colorful new video follows My Favorite Color’s career as a class clown in a high school setting, as he flirts with baddies in detention and writes out his lyrics on the chalkboard. Valee pops in halfway through the video to add his two cents and provide a new visual dimension to the organized chaos. “Man Man” is the latest in a long line of inventive videos from My Favorite Color, including most recently the ’90s sitcom-themed “Mama’s House,” the mannequin-filled “Cut Me In,” and 2021’s “Old News.” The creativity on display in “Old News,” in which the artist portrayed multiple characters a la Eddie Murphy, ranging from a kidnap victim, to a possibly untrained pilot, to a truth-telling stand-up comedian, inspired Pigeons & Planes to name him a Best New Artist in September 2021.

Like the souped up rides he whips with a passion, Xavier Wulf is built for performance. Returning to fulfill his promises, the Hollow Squad head honcho shares his new video for “Still Will,” the Hitkidd-produced highlight from his Blood Shore Season 3 mixtape, released in October. Over a brooding instrumental that meshes Xavier’s signature Memphis sound with Saturday morning superhero cartoon themes, “Still Will” finds Xavier posturing himself as a man who’s long been on a mission and will never stop: “I was ditching class, smoking gas with my brother since/9th grade, with a Boosie fade, I was killing sh*t.”

The Background:

Rot Ken is a rapper with a rare eye for the little details. Fueled by a childhood watching music videos on his family television, the Georgia rapper has a widescreen, auteurist understanding of rap that’s stuck with him to this day. We were fortunate enough to work with a diverse and exceedingly talented roster of artists in 2022, each of whom have something special that cuts through the noise. These artists cut a unique figure from the moment they pick up the microphone. Quotable, cool, and effortlessly viral, Ice Spice emerged in the summer of 2022 and took the world by storm. She lit a spark in the Bronx and beyond with her song “Munch (Feelin U),” an infectious and endlessly memeable banger that pointed to a fresh new path for NYC drill. Viral on TikTok (592k video creations) and other platforms, “Munch” racked up over 50 million streams across platforms, reached the Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart, and earned shoutouts from stars like Cardi B and Meek Mill. The 22-year-old rapper was quick to prove that “Munch” was no flash in the pan–her cartoonishly buoyant single “Bikini Bottom” trended, as well, with over 125k creations arising after her initial snippet went viral. With plaudits from Pitchfork and Rolling Stone (both of whom listed “Munch” in their “Best Songs of 2022” lists), The New York Times, and The Washington Post, plus features in Rolling Stone, NYLON, and Interview Mag (an interview with her hero Erykah Badu), it’s increasingly clear that Ice Spice has something special going on. The scary part…this is just the beginning.

CEO TRAYLE:

With a slinky, ultra-smooth delivery and an ever-present grin on his lips, CEO Trayle cuts a singular, shadowy figure in the world of Atlanta rap. He approaches immersive instrumentals from odd angles, delivering conversational verses with sly humor and the charisma of a master thespian. Across his series of Happy Halloween mixtapes, the rapper positions himself as a villainous figure, menacing his opposition even as he charms listeners into rooting for him. Trayle took his anti-hero hijinks to a new level with HH5, released on its namesake holiday, home to highlights like the woozy “Chokehold,” the complex romantic drama “I Love You But…,” and especially, “Alter Ego 2,” a conversation between Trayle and his split personality C4 about the nature of fame and life on the streets. Following up the EP Vier, which earned praise from The FADER, HH5 is Trayle’s most acclaimed project to date, earning the coveted Best New Music label from Pitchfork.

Though 2022 was Trayle’s biggest year yet, the artist is not done evolving. Keep an eye on Mr. Back Door as he continues to rise from your favorite rapper’s favorite rapper to a mainstream sensation.

EEM TRIPLIN:

Eem Triplin started his career producing for his close friend $NOT–you can thank him for “Revange” and “BENZO,” among others–but he spent 2022 proving that he has the music and the personality to become a major star in his own right. Born and raised in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, a small municipality 75 miles east of Pittsburgh, the artist/producer has a knack for going viral with his winsomely melodic rhymes and his witty online persona in equal measure.

The Eem agenda kicked into high gear in the spring, when the 21-year-old released “AWKWARD Freestyle,” a self-produced, personality-filled song that used elements of Tyler, The Creator’s 2013 song of the same name. The song quickly went viral, inspiring thousands of TikTok creations, generating millions of streams on all platforms, and eventually reaching the ears of Tyler himself, who enthusiastically gave his co-sign. “AWKWARD FREESTYLE” generated over 20 million streams across platforms, and fans intrigued by the song quickly found that Eem had a full catalog of similarly vibey highlights to choose from, including singles like “Louie V” (6 million Spotify streams) and his latest track “JUST FRIENDS?” (3 million streams since its early September release). Recently, Eem made his first festival performance at Rolling Loud New York, performing in front of a sparse crowd but making sure that the folks in the crowd would remember him forever (even if they forgot their own names in the process).

Racking up hundreds of thousands of streams on his catalog per week, and growing on a near-daily basis, it’s only a matter of time before Eem Triplin is a household name.

LOLA BROOKE:

Delivering diamond tough bars from a petite frame, Lola Brooke is turning heads in Brooklyn and beyond with her generation-spanning blend of NYC rap. Born in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Lola Brooke has worked hard her whole life to bolster the legacy of her hip-hop historic home neighborhood. In 2022, the artist turned heads with her hit song “Don’t Play With It” ft. Billy B, a proudly confrontational banger that shined a spotlight on her authoritative vocals as she confronted a city full of broke boys with withering dismissals. Lola made a name for herself with spectacular live performances, including a standout verse on the first-ever Ladies Cypher on On The Radar. In the fall, a clip of Lola performing “Don’t Play With It” resurfaced on TikTok, starting a viral moment and propelling the song up the TikTok trending charts (27.5k video creations). The raw power and undeniable charisma exhibited in “Don’t Play With It” earned Lola major co-signs, including from Cardi B, Meek Mill, and JT from the City Girls. Released in the wake of the rise of “Don’t Play With It,” Lola’s follow-up single “Here I Come” earned positive notices in Pitchfork, Okayplayer, VIBE, and many other publications.

MIA GLADSTONE:

Blending elements of hip-hop, DnB, R&B, and more into an ever-shifting, yet harmonious sonic realm, MIA GLADSTONE marches to the beat of drums that she’s programmed herself. Her songs change rhythms and modulate keys with ease, creating an unpredictable and fascinating atmosphere for her otherworldly harmonies and incisive lyrics that take a critical look at the fractured communication of the digital world. The North Carolina-based artist released her third project, LOOPY, in 2023, welcoming kindred spirits like Teezo Touchdown, Matt Martians, and Lance Skiiiwalker into her idiosyncratic world. The culmination of a three-year journey as a human exploring gender, sex, identity, fluidity, social media, the mind, and more, LOOPY finds the artist leaning into the idiosyncrasies that make her music so powerful.

Deeply musical and wise far beyond his years, Detroit artist whiterosemoxie is looking to shape the rap game in his own image. Just 20-years-old, whiterosemoxie has established himself as one of the most forward-thinking and ambitious rising artists today. His music is meant to move people, combining deeply personal lyrics with atmospheric instrumentals and choruses meant to be chanted en masse. The young artist has generated over 30 million streams across platforms to date, including over 12 million on his first-ever release “whitegold.” Though he built his audience during the pandemic, he’s an astonishing performer, showing off his live chops at festivals like Rolling Loud Miami and HIVE Music Festival. Moxie shared his Habits EP earlier in 2022, but as accomplished as it is, that EP is prelude to his debut album HUMAN BEHAVIOR. Listening to Rich Amiri is like going through a wormhole–past and future collide upon themselves and emerge transformed, yet familiar. Amiri first emerged on SoundCloud, rhyming over far-out and atmospheric plugg instrumentals with a velvety voice that evokes stars of R&B’s past. He first earned recognition with his 2021 song “Never Fail,” which surpassed 2.7 million plays on SoundCloud, and he struck again late last year with his percolating hit “Walk In.” Amiri’s bubbling online presence drew the attention of Taz Taylor and Internet Money, who’ve become regular collaborators. In June, Rich Amiri shared For The Better, an astonishingly infectious debut project that featured Internet Money production and featured appearances from fellow rising stars SSGKobe, Summrs, Jaydes, and Desire. The Boston native continued in 2022 with the imperial single “Can’t Die,” which earned more than 1 million Spotify streams, and shifted gears for the romantic “Dirty Money” to close out the year. Continuing to push music forward with his powerful pipes, the talented teenager is a great bet to elevate his game in 2023.

Latin artists take the crown: Kim Loaiza takes the crown for most viewed artist account globally and Bad Bunny enjoyed the biggest follower growth in 2022. In fact, globally, 5 of the 10 most viewed artist accounts and 5 of the 10 artist accounts to experience the biggest growth made Spanish-language music.
From the underground to the top of TikTok: Swedish rapper Yung Lean’s 2013 track “Ginseng Strip 2002” is crowned the most used song on TikTok in 2022.

Speed Up, Slow Down: It’s the year we got faster and slower, with these TikTok trends upending the traditional track. Leading the vanguard of the Memphis underground, Xavier Wulf is always on the move. Emerging for the first time since releasing October’s Blood Shore Season 3 mixtape, the Hollow Squad head honcho connects with director DotComNirvan to share the new video for project highlight “First Light.” The tape’s Hitkidd-produced opening track features tense violin loops and hasty percussion, creating a cinematic martial arts vibe which Wulf leverages to deliver his sinister bars: “I ain’t finna play with none of you n****s or your homies/He said he wouldn’t run, found out that was bologna, b****!”

The DotComNirvan-directed video for “First Light” sets a high bar for the pair’s first collaboration. Blending live-action with animation, the video finds live-action Xavier approaching a series of opponents with his katana blade cloaked in smoke-illuminated blood red hues, before transitioning to anime-style combat scenes where Wulf appears as a ninja-like masked assassin, quickly doing away with each of his targets. A slick-talking Detroit hero who’s steadily upped his ante in recent years, Icewear Vezzo drips with insights into successful street living. Teaming up with a fellow hustler for his latest music video, Vezzo shares “One Time” ft. Jeezy. Complete with the menacing piano lines and ominous bells that characterize many of Vezzo’s most beloved tracks, “One Time” is an anthem dedicated to the trappers and the flexers, with a countdown chorus that demands to be chanted by a crowd: “Three times for the n****s in heaven/Four times for the bad b*tches that’s steppin.” Vezzo and Jeezy are complemented by the energetic ad-libs of the legendary DJ Drama, who also appears in the music video. Directed by Diesel Films, the video finds Vezzo, Jeezy, and Drama relaxing in Vezzo’s native 6 Mile, as they turn up in an abandoned warehouse.

“One Time” hails from Paint The City, the upcoming mixtape by Icewear Vezzo. Hosted by DJ Drama, Paint The City is the latest edition of the DJ’s famous Gangsta Grillz series of tapes. The new video is the second glimpse of the upcoming tape, following “God Bless The 6,” a collaboration with his fellow 6 Mile native Babyface Ray. The first full-length to be released since Vezzo signed to Quality Control Music, Paint The City is available everywhere on December 8th.

The upcoming tape arrives at the end of a banner year for the respected Detroit rapper. In July, Vezzo released his acclaimed Rich Off Pints 3, the concluding chapter of Vezzo’s signature mixtape series. Continuing the path set by 2021’s Rich Off Pints and Rich Off Pints 2, which generated a combined 150 million streams across platforms, Rich Off Pints 3 is the product of a man who has been through hell in the pursuit of better days. The tape recently earned praise from Pitchfork, who stated, “His latest project basks in the idea that an album this regionally specific can still have nationwide appeal.” Later in the summer, Vezzo connected with Kodak Black for “It’s All On U,” a buzzing single that racked up over 5 million streams on Spotify and 11 million views on YouTube.

Bursting out of Harlem with bottomless bars, rapper Antha Pantha has no patience for fakeness. Making a ferocious first impression with her impressive debut single, the “Scrilla Hill” native shares “Real B*tches.” Announcing herself with a fierce growl before launching into her first verse, Antha Pantha dazzles with an animated delivery over triumphant horns and fast-paced 808s, alternating between clipped cadences and sly melodies to create her new anthem. Produced by NYC beatmakers Tweek Tune (Fivio Foreign, Lil TJay, A$AP Ferg) and LaChaleur (A$AP Ferg, Famous Dex), the new song is an ode to supreme self-confidence, as Antha implores listeners to stay true to themselves and elucidate what it means to be a “real ass b*tch”: “I only wear makeup at a photoshoot/Cause Ion need that sh*t just to look cute/A real pretty b*tch every day I wake up/It’s too hot for that sh*t it’s ’bout to cake up.”

In the video, directed by ICE STUDIOS, Antha proves that she can command any situation with her forceful personality. The clip opens with the New York native portraying a convict, as she recruits a loyal crew of pink jumpsuit-clad inmates in the prison yard. In other scenes, Antha leads a gathering of ATVs in her native Harlem, with assistance from A$AP Ferg, who makes a cameo. No matter the scenario, Antha’s personality shines through as she enthusiastically delivers her verses.

“‘Real B*tches’ is an anthem for women embracing the perfection of not being perfect while not giving a f*ck because you’re secure in who you are and what you stand for,” says Antha Pantha.

Obsessed with music, theater, and dance since she was a child, Antha made waves in Harlem with her outsized personality and undeniable talent. Her magnetic qualities attracted the attention of A$AP Ferg, a childhood friend of hers, who quickly became a close collaborator. Antha first earned mainstream attention in 2019 when she appeared on songs from Ferg’s Floor Seats series of EPs, most notably on the buzzing single “Wigs,” which also featured City Girls. In 2020, Antha went toe-to-toe with Ferg once again on the Hit-Boy-produced “Mask.”
