Forever carrying the flame for Paper Route Empire, rapper Jay Fizzle specializes in searing Memphis street raps. Rejecting the fame and fortune and pledging allegiance to the grind, the rapper shares F*CK BEING FAMOUS, a new collection of unapologetically raw rhymes. Coming out the gates on fire with the incendiary “FREESTR8DROP,” F*CK BEING FAMOUS finds Fizzle in his bag, applying his slurred slick talk to a variety of instrumentals. Songs like “Judge” and “Big Body Benz” stick in Jay’s Tennessee trap wheelhouse, combining thunderous 808s with ominous strings and tolling bells. Other highlight tracks expand the sonic palette: “Back Breaker” is a spiritual follow-up to last year’s “50 Freaky B*tches,” borrowing sounds from G-Funk to create a playalistic anthem, while “Built For This” borrows from Mozart’s haunting “Requiem” before opening up into a widescreen slice of pain music.

F*CK BEING FAMOUS rolls out the carpet for a series of guests, both familiar and unfamiliar. Fizzle proves to have excellent chemistry with L.A. legend 03 Greedo on the ultra-funky “Still The Same,” as the two bond over their enduring love for the color purple, and he goes toe-to-toe with Chicago rapper Kash Mirr on the steely “Blackout.” The rapper known as DonaFizzle (after his favorite Ninja Turtle, Donatello) reconnects with two of his Paper Route Empire brethren, swapping bars with Big Moochie Grape on “Not Average,” and mobbing up with SNUPE BANDZ on “Good Fellas.” Home to the recent video single “Dickie Set” (180k views since last week), F*CK BEING FAMOUS is available everywhere via Paper Route Empire.

F*ck Being Famous looks to continue the momentum from DonaFizzo, Fizzle’s 2022 tape, and keeps his run going as Paper Route Empire’s longest-tenured signee.
