Critical Praise:

“..the members of Paper Route Empire reach a level of sincerity and emotional reflection that’s still hard to come by.” – Pitchfork

“Choosing some of the more interesting production to rhyme over, Jay Fizzle’s frankness and the flows he has on tap keep him in the convo as the whole city takes off.” – XXL Mag

“10 Rappers You Should Know Right Now” – DJ Booth

“The tape serves as both a testament to Memphis’ current rap preeminence and Fizzle’s own dexterity. He saves perhaps the hardest for last on the tape, attacking a looped vocal sample and towering percussion with ferocity.” – DJ Booth

“Jay Fizzle is a master of the searing street rap that serves as the bass-booming heart of Memphis music.” – The Hype Magazine

The Video:

Jay Fizzle‘s brand of flex-heavy, slick-talking street music has established him as one of Memphis’s most respected street rappers. Content with his status in his city as he rejects the spotlight and hangers-on that comes with success, the artist announces F*ck Being Famous, his next mixtape. Continuing to evolve the raw Southern sound established with his acclaimed 2022 mixtape DonaFizzoFizzle’s F*ck Being Famous mixtape releases on September 29th via Paper Route Empire and is now available to pre-save.

To accompany the announcement of F*ck Being Famous, Fizzle shares the video for Dickie Set,” a highlight from the upcoming release. Riding an inspiration that takes inspiration from Memphis horrorcore, Fizzle explains why he’s one to be feared: he always keeps his chopper fresh, he’ll slap a fool for cussin’, and if you cross him, he’ll pop you like a percocet. In the video, Fizzle and his soldiers take a tour around his territory, making it clear with force that he is the one and only boss. Directed by 2BrosFilm, the video gives a glimpse into Memphis car culture, as Fizzle soups up an old Volkswagen with a new engine and custom rims.

F*ck Being Famous looks to continue the momentum from DonaFizzo, Fizzle’s most accomplished project to date. Backed by cavernous trap beats by the likes of Bandplay and Sosa 808, the tape reverberates with Fizzle’s desire to follow in his mentor Young Dolph’s footsteps and take over the Dirty South. From the Mission: Impossible-esque bounce of“50 Freaky B*tches” ft. 21 Lil Harold, to the furiously flex-heavy “Nothing Into Something,” DonaFizzo hits harder than a bo-staff from start to finish. The tape features collaborations with his PRE brethren like Key Glock and Big Moochie Grape, and features the heartfelt tribute “Long Live Dolph” ft. Ricco Barrino.

With F*ck Being Famous, Fizzle digs deep into his mastery of Memphis music and delivers a set for the Tennessee trap heads. Stay tuned.
