New Audible Treats Hip-Hop Podcast 180 Features T.I.P, Paul Wall, Sir Michael Rocks, J.R. Donato, and Opio x Free the Robots

Leading this week’s Audible Treats Hip-Hop Podcast 180 are Souls of Mischief/Hieroglyphics rapper/producer Opio and L.A. beat scene vet Free the Robots with their song “Psych Ward,” a booming track that journeys through Opio’s mind as psychedelics take him on a stream of consciousness that runs from social and political issues to paranoia. The track is off of their latest album, Sempervirens, which was premiered by Okayplayer. Next up we have Taylor Gang rapper J.R. Donato with his Sledgren-produced track “Life So Sweet.” The video single, which was premiered by HipHopDX, is a hazy toast to the good life, as the North Chicago rapper boasts about his fashionable and flashy living. Stepping up after J.R. Donato is Texas rap legend Paul Wall with a fresh release off his latest record, slab god. “Crumble the Satellite,” featuring fellow Southern rap heavyweights Devin the Dude and Curren$y, makes you feel like you’re in one of Wall’s whips with a head-bobbing beat and smooth organ vibrato. Following Paul Wall is young emcee Sir Michael Rocks and his Mass Appeal-debuted track “Come Outside.” The track, which includes an eerie sample from the Resident Evil Save Room theme, is from his recently released Populair EP. The EP, which is a follow up to last year’s Banco, was called “multi-directional, unpredictable, zany, chaotic, serious and dark” by the Examiner. Wrapping up the Podcast for this week we have T.I.P and his powerful track “Check, Run It.” The Grammy-Award winning artist released stunning visuals for the track, which is from his Da’ Nic EP. “T.I. is the fucking best,” says Noisey. “He’s been going for almost 20 years at this point, and hasn’t shown any rust or wear in his music.
