The Announcement:

Oakland’s Philthy Rich is a slick-talking emcee with a tireless work ethic, whose street cred coming from East Oakland’s notorious Seminary neighborhood and status as a seasoned veteran in the Bay Area Hip-Hop scene have earned him the reputation as one of the realest rappers in the Bay. Today, Philthy is announcing his upcoming album, Hood Rich 4. Filled front to back with street ready trap bangers, the album is a nuanced take on making it out the hood, showing both his successes and his struggles. Ever the networker, Philthy hooked up with some of rap’s biggest names from all over the country on the project, including Soulja Boy, Jim Jones, Birdman, B.o.B, G. Herbo, Casey Veggies, Shy Glizzy, Young Dolph, Kash Doll, Sauce Walka, and Sosamann and producers Zaytoven and Shawty Fresh, among others.

Today, The FADER premieres “Fuck I Look Like,” the brash first video single from Hood Rich 4. Featuring a defiant hook and first verse from Detroit’s Kash Doll, “Fuck I Look Like” is an anthem, with a stuttering bounce and skittering synths. “When you elevate yourself to a certain level your companion has to be on the same level or higher,” explains Philthy Rich to The FADER. “The fuck I look like with someone who isn’t on my level. If I go out to the club, I’m gonna try with try with the baddest bitch there. I tapped Kash Doll for this song because she has possesses that raw combo of raunchiness and sexiness and she’s appealing to a man’s eye.”

This album is the culmination of a busy year for Philthy. He teamed with Maybach Music Group’s Yowdato release American Greed, a full-length project with appearances from Jim JonesJ Stalin, and more. In July, XXL premiered, “59 To 79” a piano-laden trap banger featuring G Herbo. “59 to 79” followed the Zaytoven-produced cut “Numbers” and the remix to “Broke Boy,” which features a long guest list of buzzing artists. Earlier, Complex premiered “Barely Know My Name” which features Lil B, MistahF.A.B., Mozzy and Celly Ru. In the lead up to January’s Real N*ggas Back in $tyle, the first in a series of three albums with the same title, Philthy Rich shared a series of singles starting withthe IAMSU-assisted money-making anthem “Make A Living,” which gained more than one million Soundcloud streams. Philthy Rich’s latest solo project, SemCity MoneyMan 4, available for streaming onSoundcloud and for purchase on iTunes.
